AN: This chapter and the next chapter will do quite a few time skips as we move things along to the point where most of the story takes place. Think of this first part of the story as an extended prologue.

Evans Farm, Durham County, England, 5/23/1971, 14:00

Harry was sitting in his office trying to get the details right on his new venture he was going over the figures on his ledger.

Harry recently fenced off three acres directly around his home and had moved the farmhand barrack over to the other side of the property that was closest to the main road.

This morning he had signed a lease to one of his neighbors who would use the other forty hectares of his land and the barrack for a hundred pounds a month.

Harry didn't really need the money but it would keep him supplied with muggle money so he wouldn't have to constantly exchange currency at Gringotts.

The past few months had been peaceful for the most part. After he had returned from Bulgaria, Harry had to grovel a bit but Andromeda had forgiven him.

It probably helped that he promised her that he wasn't taking any more dangerous contracts from Gringotts.

Nymmie was growing like a weed and was up to fourteen pounds as of her last checkup. She was starting to babble whenever something interested her which Harry thought was the cutest thing he'd ever seen.

She had also learned to roll around onto her tummy and Harry predicted that it wouldn't be long before she started crawling.

Harry put away his ledger and looked out his window to his newest project, the barn.

For the past few weeks, Harry had been in the process of turning the barn into a training room so that he wouldn't freeze to death during his morning training like he had last winter.

He had already placed an undetectable expansion charm over the inside making it twenty times as big on the inside as it was on the outside. He planned to ward the inside to protect the walls and ceiling from spell damage and then he was going to set a climate control ward to keep it at room temperature year-round.

Harry's thoughts were interrupted as Andromeda walked into the office looking a bit flustered.

"Hey, what's the matter?" Harry asked as he saw her expression.

"We have a problem," Andromeda said looking like she was stealing herself.

"Okay, what is the problem?" Harry asked starting to feel anxious.

"Well, one big problem and a complication." She amended.

"So what's the big problem?" Harry sighed having a feeling his fickle luck was coming for his ass, jaws a snapping.

"I received a letter from my Grandfather Lord Arcturus Black," Andy said as if that was all that needed to be said.

"Andy, what did he say in his letter?" Harry asked in an exasperated voice as she took a seat on the edge of his desk.

"He wishes for us to join him for dinner this evening," she sighed.

"Where at?" Harry asked warily, having no interest in having dinner with Sirous' mother.

"His cottage in Wales," Andromeda shrugged.

"Would your father and Sister be there?" Harry asked.

"No, I don't think so," Andi said, giving him a look of amusement.

"That's a relief, I don't think they liked me very much," Harry chuckled.

"Grandfather also informed me that I have been brought back into the Black family. He even sent me a key for a new trust vault," Andromeda said almost as an afterthought.

"In that case, we should probably go. If nothing else, It'll be good to get Nymmie out of the house, and family is important," Harry pointed out.

"I was afraid you would say that. Grandfather is expecting us no later than seven. Just be prepared, my Grandfather can be a bit... intense," Andromeda warned.

"Understood, what was the complication?" Harry asked her curiously.

"Well, I just got back from St. Mungos for Nymphadora's Dragon Pox potion and her checkup. While I was there Healer Rivers insisted on running some scans on me to check how I'm coping with the decrease in hormones and such. His scans showed that I'm pregnant again," Andromeda said, watching him for his reaction.

Harry's mind went blank for a moment as what she had just said fully sank in. He was going to be a father.

That thought was a bit... terrifying.

Still, it was difficult for him to keep the grin off of his face. Deep down, having a family of his own was something he had always wanted. Harry had been helping to raise Nymmie since right after Christmas, so he already knew what having a baby entailed.

"I thought you were on the potion?" Harry asked trying to give himself a moment to think this through.

"I was. Healer Rivers said that a person with exceptionally powerful magic could sometimes overpower the potion," Andromeda said, starting to look a little worried now.

"Huh," Harry said before standing up and scooping Andi off of the desk, holding her bridal style as he kissed her soundly.

"That's good news, terrifying but good news. When are you due?" Harry asked as he broke the kiss, excitement evident in his voice.

"November fifth, but that raises another problem. We have to get married or grandfather will chuck me right back out of the family," Andromeda warned, looking relieved that he had taken the news so well.

Harry nearly dropped her at this proclamation but made the conscious decision to set her back on the edge of the desk as he processed this next piece of life-changing news.

Married! That seemed so sudden, though they had been living together and laying as husband and wife do for going on a year now. The idea was still a scary one but not something he was adverse to.

'Marrying Andromeda doesn't sound like a bad thing by any means,' Harry mused.

Most people married for love not jumping into it out of some obligation well unless they're one of those purebloods who arrange marriages. Then it hit him, Andromeda came from a family that did exactly that.

Did he love her though? Thinking about it he realized that he had loved her for a while now. She meant the world to him and with that epiphany, his decision was made much easier. He came out of his thoughts and back into the present and gave her his answer.

Andromeda watched as Harry set her down and just stood there staring blankly out the window. She was slowly getting more annoyed the longer he stared off into space. She was just about to demand he say something when he seemed to come back to reality saying just one word.

"Okay."

She stared at him for a moment as she took in the meaning of his words, feeling a wave of relief wash over her.

"So you want to get married?" Andromeda asked, her grey eyes boring into Harry's.

"Yeah, why not," Harry grinned.

"That's what every girl wants to hear," Andromeda said, shooting him a look of amusement.

"Right, the proposal has to be romantic," Harry nodded thoughtfully as he knelt on one knee in front of her.

"I'm a pureblood, Harry. My family doesn't marry for love, they marry for politics. You really don't have to propose," Andromeda said as she looked down at him from where she was perched on the end of the desk.

"I'm already down here, you're getting a proposal," Harry said firmly as he drew his wand and conjured a ring with a fake diamond set in an intricate silver setting.

"Carry on then," Andromeda said, a smile tugging at the corner of her lips.

"Andromeda VindaTonks, will you marry me?" Harry asked as he showed her the ring which sparkled in the light from the window.

"Yes," Andromeda answered with a beaming smile as she offered him her hand so he could slip the ring on her finger.

"We can find you a real ring in the next few days," Harry said as he slid the ring onto her finger.

"Okay, then we can make a day of going to the alley," Andromeda said excitedly, her eyes lighting up at the prospect of a shopping trip.

"Sure, we can go tomorrow if you want," Harry agreed as he started to stand up.

He was stopped from standing as Andromeda raised her leg and rested her dainty foot on his shoulder before pushing him back down into a kneeling position.

"While you're down there, would you mind doing that parseltongue trick of yours?" Andromeda asked in a husky voice.

"I suppose I could," Harry said thoughtfully as he watched her lay back on the desk, knocking a stack of papers and a jar full of fresh quills onto the floor in the process.

"I need it, Harry," Andromeda whined as she spread her legs, letting her foot slide off of his shoulder.

"That trick is what got us into this mess, to begin with", Harry said absentmindedly as he moved to the edge of the desk and flipped the skirt of her sundress up.

Harry marveled at her silky smooth legs as his eyes traveled up her thighs. Andromeda's skin was a golden brown and looked as if she had just used a waxing spell. Her calves had the slightest muscle tone yet her thighs were slightly plump and had a very nice roundness to them.

Harry was pulled from his observation as she jiggled her leg causing her muscles to ripple under her skin. Harry trailed his hands over her outer thighs before hooking the band of her green silk knickers with his thumbs.

"It was," Andi agreed in a breathy voice as she raised her hips so he could pull her knickers over the curve of her bum.

"I guess there's no point in crying over spilled potion" Harry smirked as he slid her knickers down her legs, moving teasingly slowly and causing goosebumps to appear wherever his fingertips grazed her flesh.

Harry tossed her knickers to the floor and leaned in, her musky scent filling his nostrils when-

'WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!'

"Dammit, she's finished with her nap," Andromeda groaned as Nymmie's cries echoed out of the bedroom next to his office.

"We can finish this up later," Harry chuckled as he stood up.

"You can bet on that," Andromeda muttered grumpily as she hopped off of the desk and stalked out of the room to go tend to Nymphadora.

Harry watched her leave before flicking his wand at the papers scattered on the floor, making the papers stack themselves and then return to his desktop. Harry repeated the spell on his quills before retaking his seat

Tonight was going to be interesting and Harry would admit that he was a bit nervous about meeting Andi's grandfather. His last interaction with the Black family hadn't gone smoothly and he hoped that the Black patriarch wouldn't hold a grudge for that past meeting.

'Guess I'll find out soon enough,' Harry thought to himself as he mentally prepared himself for a trying evening.

Black Cottage, Wales, 5/23/1971, 18:58

Harry stepped out of the floo with Nymmie cradled in his left arm. She had changed her eye color to match his own which she had been doing anytime he held her recently.

The small tuft of hair on her tiny head was a familiar shade of bubblegum pink and she was babbling excitedly about their trip through the floo network which she seemed to have enjoyed.

Harry hastily stepped to the side of the fireplace upon entering the sitting room of a nice little cottage. The room had a polished hardwood floor made from rich dark walnut wood. There was a large area rug that covered most of the floor in the main part of the room. The room was modest-sized and furnished with a creme white leather sofa and a matching pair of armchairs arranged around a walnut coffee table so that they faced the fireplace. The walls were covered in a pale green wallpaper with white plaster on the ceiling. The fireplace he had just stepped out of, looked to have been constructed out of highly polished black granite

To his left was a large window that gave him a view of the lush green lawns that surrounded the cottage. He could just make out a pond on the other side of the lawn and tall mountains in the distance.

Barely a second after he had stepped into the room, green flames burst out of the hearth and Andromeda stepped gracefully out of the fireplace behind him.

Harry drew his wand and used it to vanish soot off of his and Nymmie's robes while Andi did the same to her own and straightened out her emerald green dress robes before fussing over his robes.

"Relax, Andi," Harry soothed as she began to fuss over Nymmies hair, causing her to squirm in Harry's arm.

"I can't help it, I'm really nervous about this," Andi sighed as a door to their right opened.

Harry turned in that direction and saw a young boy step into the room dressed in sharp black dress robes and Harry was forced to do a double-take. There was no doubt in his mind that he was looking at a much younger version of his godfather. Sirius still had baby fat around his cheeks but Harry could easily recognize the man this child would one day grow into.

Harry's analysis was brought to a halt as Sirius spoke, if somewhat nervously.

"Welcome cousin, welcome Mr Evans. Please allow me to lead you to the dining room, Lord Black is expecting you."

"Lead the way, Heir Black," Harry said while giving Sirius an encouraging smile

Andi had been giving him a crash course in pureblood formal speak all afternoon.

Andi smiled at Sirius fondly then pulled him in for a quick hug.

"I've missed you, Sirius," Andi cooed as the boy in question blushed with embarassment.

Harry just sniggered as Sirius squirmed out of Andi's grip and gave her an annoyed look.

"Andi, I hate when you do that," Sirius exclaimed as he straightened his robes.

"You look so cute in your dress robes," Andi gushed as the followed Sirius into the hallway.

Sirius scowled but didn't say anything as he led them into a formal dining room where an older couple was sitting at one end of a long dinner table. The couple looked to be in their mid-fifties (but with magicals it was hard to tell).

The older couple looked to be in the middle of a whispered conversation when the four of them stepped into the dining room. They stopped speaking and turned to gaze upon the new arrivals the man giving them an unreadable expression while the woman gave them a warm smile.

Lord Black had salt and pepper hair with sharp grey eyes, he also had the same cheekbones as he remembered grown-up Sirius having. Actually, when Harry thought about it, the two men looked very similar to each other.

The woman seated beside Lord Black was blonde with ringlet-like curls, very similar to Andromeda's hair. She had soft features and clear blue eyes that lit up when she spotted Nymphadora cradled in Harry's arm.

Arcturus rose from his seat and came to meet them halfway down the table, his own grey eyes softening when he spotted the pink hair of his great-granddaughter.

"Welcome Andromeda, I am so happy to see you again," Arcturus said with far more warmth than Harry expected of anyone with the last name of Black.

"Thank you, grandfather, I want to thank you for bringing me back into the family," Andromeda said genuinely as she gave him a bright smile.

"My idiot son removed you from the family. I was sadly not informed until after the fact," Arcturus replied before turning to Harry.

"Welcome Mr Evans, I have been wanting to meet you for quite a while. You left quite an... impression on Cygnus." Arcturus smirked as he extended his hand.

Harry was a bit taken aback that the older man didn't seem to be holding a grudge against him after the confrontation with Andi's father last year Pushing those thoughts aside Harry meet his gaze.

"I am most honored by your hospitality, Lord Black," Harry said confidently as he shook Arcturus' hand.

"And who is this little lady?" The woman still seated at the table asked as she stared at Nymmie with interest.

Nymhadora was oblivious to the attention he was drawing, her little head was resting against his left shoulder and she was sleeping soundly if the drool soaking through his dress robes was any indication.

"Ah, where are my manners? Please meet my wife, Melania," Arcturus said as the woman in question came to stand at his side.

"I too am very happy you three came for dinner," Melania said, offering Harry her hand.

Harry gently took her hand in his before bowing slightly over it and placing a kiss on her knuckles.

"It is a pleasure to meet you Lady black. I now see where Andromeda gets her looks from," Harry replied making the older woman's cheeks tinge pink.

"Aren't you sweet," Melania beamed.

"To answer your earlier question, this little terror is Nymmie but she seems to have decided it's nap time," Harry said, causing Andi to huff in annoyance.

"Her name is Nymphadora Druella Black Grandmother, Harry insists on shortening it," she said giving Harry an annoyed look.

"She'll hate that name when she grows up, I'm hoping she'll see the nickname as a preferable alternative," Harry shrugged.

"Nymphadora is a beautiful name," Andromeda argued back.

"Well come along and let us eat before we discuss the reason I wanted to speak with the both of you," Arcturus said, feeling a bit amused at their by-play.

Over dinner, the conversation was light and focused mainly on how Andi was adjusting to motherhood.

Harry stayed quiet for the most part and let Andromeda catch up with her grandparents and her cousin

Harry was a bit surprised to learn that Arcturus was taking Sirius under his wing and preparing him for taking over the Black family. Harry knew this had never happened in his timeline and wondered what had caused this change of events. Sirius seemed very happy with the arrangement so Harry considered it a change for the better

Nymmie clung to Harry all through dinner, much to Andromeda's annoyance. She had tried to take her from Harry before dessert, only to have her daughter start crying loudly until she was back in her spot on his left shoulder.

'Traitor,' muttered to her daughter much to Harry's amusement.

After dessert, Andromeda reclaimed her daughter because apparently she wanted her mother to take her when she was hungry. Andromeda had adjourned to the sitting room to feed her ungrateful offspring.

Sirius had excused himself to go listen to his favorite program on the Wizarding Wireless, leaving Harry and the two older Blacks seated at the table. Arcturus took this as an opportunity to get down to business and cleared his throat.

"I must admit that I had another motive for requesting you over for dinner," Arcturus began, getting Harry's undivided attention.

"I had a feeling you did," Harry admitted.

"To get straight to the point, when I restored Andromeda's name on The Family tapestry I noticed that Andromeda has two silver lines indicating progeny. The first was a Nymphadora's Druella Black born on the twenty-sixth December of last year. The second has no first name only the word Evans and no date of birth," Lord Black said, narrowing his eyes.

Harry nodded not really surprised that Lord Black already knew about Andromeda's pregnancy. He was very familiar with the Black family tapestry and how attuned it was to the members of the family.

"Yes, we discovered that Andromeda was with child earlier this afternoon. We talked things over and have decided to wed before the arrival of the baby for propriety's sake," Harry responded, very aware of Arcturus' penetrating state.

"Good that will make the contract negotiations simpler, now we can work out the terms-

"I think it would be best if Andromeda had a say in this, Lord Black," Harry said flatly, cutting Arcturus off as politely as possible.

"He's right dear, you remember what happened when Cygnus tried to force the Rowle contract on her, she went off and married that womanizing Tonks boy," Melania said in a no-nonsense tone.

Melania who had been quiet until now but nodded her agreement, giving Harry an approving smile before voicing her agreement.

Melania had her own contacts at St. Mungos and she had heard from Paula Strout that her daughter Miriam had run a fowl of Andromeda last June.

According to Paula, Andromeda had caught her now ex-husband fornicating with Miriam Strout in the break room at St Mungo's. Andromeda had been furious and had seriously injured both of them before storming out of the hospital.

Melania couldn't really blame her granddaughter and vowed to castrate that Tonks boy if she ever saw him again.

Perhaps it was for the best that Ted had shown his true colors as Andromeda had ended up getting rescued by Harry the very next day.

Harry seemed like a good match for Andromeda. They had good chemistry together and Melania could tell the two of them were very much in love with each other, even if they hadn't figured it out yet.

Melania's musings were interrupted as her granddaughter came back into the kitchen with the babe asleep in her arms.

Andromeda retook her seat beside Harry, giving him a questioning look.

"Tapestry," Harry said causing Andromeda's eyes to widen in understanding and Melania had to stifle a laugh at her granddaughter's expression.

"Now that you're back we have some things to sort out, Andromeda. Most importantly, we have a contract to draw up and a wedding to plan," Arcturus declared as soon as she had taken her seat.

Sighing to herself, Andromeda could tell this would be a very long night.

She should have been a seer, her grandfather was meticulous and the four of them went back and forth with terms until a suitable compromise was decided upon.

1. Harry's last name would change to Black upon their wedding.

2. They would receive a summer home in Nice, and 50,000 galleons as a dowry.

3. Harry would join arms with the Black if ever their family was threatened, and have power granted by Lord Black to defend the family interest should such need arise with impunity.

4. All of their children would receive training in etiquette from Melania and would be raised to respect pureblood tradition.

5. There was to be an ironclad infidelity clause set on both parties.

On and on it went by the time everyone came to an agreement, and then signed the contract with a blood quill, Andromeda was practically dragging Harry through the floo. as politely as possible, of course.

Diagon Alley, London, 6/19/1971, 1971, 15:22

Walking through Diagon Alley was something that usually brought a sense of childlike nostalgia to Harry. On the other hand, walking through Diagon Alley with Andromeda Black dead set on getting him fitted for dress robes for their wedding filled Harry with a sense of dread.

The closer they got to Twillfit and Tatting's, the more Harry looked desperately for any form of escape from this situation.

Andromeda rolled her eyes at the pained expression on Harry's face.

"Quit pouting Harry this won't take long, and then you can have some Ice Cream," Andromeda said as if speaking to a small child.

Harry just scowled at her mocking him and glanced over at her as they avoided other shoppers.

"I'm not worried about the fitting. I'm dreading the endless debates you're going to have with the shop girl over the material, which color will compliment the theme of the wedding. As well as endless discussions about which type of robes look best in sunlight, but also if it's cloudy will the texture distort the audience's perception of the color of my robe or what if-"

"Enough!" Andromeda snapped.

"Well in my defense, that's how these shopping trips always go," Harry shrugged.

"I get your point and I promise to keep the nitpicking to a minimum, happy?" She asked in a tone of irritation.

"Depends, do I still get that Ice Cream?" Harry asked, smirking at the glare she gave him.

"Grrr, you're incorrigible. But we're here, so let's get this over with," Andromeda said shortly.

Harry's smirk disappeared and he adopted an expression that wouldn't have looked out of place on a man that was walking up the steps to the Gallows.

Four hours later an extremely tired Harry exited the shop, the experience had been just as awful as he expected it would be.

Everything Harry had feared had come to pass... and more.

'Andromeda was a dirty Liar!' Harry thought to himself not seeing the victorious smirk on her face.

Harry had annoyed her so much on the way to the shop, Andromeda had made sure she was extra picky. She had made him try on over a dozen different styles and colors only to pick the first one he had tried on.

Unbeknownst to Harry, she had already picked the robes he would wear. They were just going to the shop to get him fitted.

As the two of them made their way to the ice cream shop, Andromeda couldn't help but think she had won this particular battle.

Evans Farm, Durham County, England, 9/21/1971 13:45

"Harry come in here you have to see this!" Andromeda called from the sitting room.

Harry got out of his chair and left his office, following the sound of his wife's voice to the sitting room.

Andromeda was sitting on the floor with Nymmie who was currently sitting on her butt. Harry watched as Nymmie leaned forward in the crawling position using Andy's Arm for support as she slowly pulled herself to her feet.

Nymmie smiled a toothless grin and then took a step before she stumbled and plopped down on her bum again, giggling cutely.

Harry beamed at witnessing her first steps he couldn't believe how fast she was growing up.

Headmasters Office, Hogwarts School, Scotland, 9/21/1971, 20:17

Albus Dumbledore was concerned, He was currently reading through the same reports that Arcturus Black had gotten back in April.

Albus was shocked to learn about this Reaper fellow. A man who was responsible for the death of fifteen people in the last year!

Criminals, they may be but they still deserved a chance to redeem themselves. Albus would have to keep an eye out for this man. True Reaper hadn't been active since March but with the savage way he had killed all of those men, he could very well become the next Dark Lord.

The thing that Irked Albus the most was the I.C.W! HIS I.C.W was having discussions about whether or not they should award this murderer the Order of Merlin First Class! The very thought of this sent a vein in Albus' temple throbbing.

"Perhaps I had better gather some like-minded individuals and have them ready in case this man does start gathering followers," Albus muttered to the empty office.

He wished he knew the identity of the man but all he knew for sure was that Rraper was a very powerful wizard, according to the department of mysteries.

His first guess would be that Reaper was really Tom Riddle but for some reason, Albus didn't think that was the case. All of the people that were killed would have been people Tom would have aligned with. All of these men were the sort that Tom Riddle or Voldemort (as he had started calling himself) would want to bring into his fold.

Albus couldn't rule out the possibility that this could be Tom's handy work but the unspeakables suspected Reaper was from another timeline which made him doubt that they were the same person.

His mind made up, Albud removed a quill and a stack of parchment before preparing to write quite a few invitations.

'Poor Fawks was going to get a workout tonight,' Albus thought as he began composing his first letter addressed to one Alsastor Moody.

Riddle House, Little Hangleton, England, 10/31/1971, 00:01

Pain ripped through Tom Marvolo Riddle's body as the ritual was finally completed and he collapsed to the floor of his makeshift ritual room.

This was his fifth time doing this particular ritual and he always performed it on Halloween. This was the day of the year that the veil was thinnest and he wouldn't have to worry about his soul shard passing onto the afterlife before he could place it in the container he had created to house it.

His container this time was a Goblet bearing Hufflepuffs crest. The time to move on against the wizarding world was fast approaching.

He had been gathering followers for years now and quite a few prominent purebloods bowed at his feet. His most promising acquisition was a pureblood daughter of the house of Black. She was more talented with a wand than anyone he ever met (except himself of course).

He did have a few setbacks most recently that irked him to think about.

He had planned on approaching Fenrir Greyback and his pack and bartering their services when he started coming out in the open. Sadly that plan was scrapped as was the plan for Antonin Dolohov.

Both men fell victim to the same assassin, and if Rookwood was to be believed, the assassin was going by the name Reaper.

Rookwood had informed him that Reaper was a powerhouse strong enough to rival Albus Dumbledore. That thought worried the dark lord greatly. The man seemed to have a proclivity for killing the type of men he was trying to bring into his fold.

Perhaps it would be best to bide his time a bit longer and try and learn more about this Reaper.

After all, the way he killed the Balkan Butchers proved that an assassin's blade could fall the mighty just as easily as it did the weak.

St. Mungo, London, 11/12/1971, 07:30

Andromeda Black was tired she had just given birth to her second child in less than a year. She watched her husband holding little Ignotus, the both of them were sound asleep. She realized how lucky she was, Harry may be a royal ass sometimes but he treated her well, took the time to do stuff that made her smile, and loved Nymphadora like she was his own daughter.

He had told her about his past/future life before they had got married, and at first, she thought he was lying to her and was getting really angry when he wouldn't give up the joke. Until he had brought a pensieve out of his study and showed her memories from his life in the future and explained everything to her.

He had told her everything he had been through in the future and what he was going to do, to stop those events from happening at all.

Andromeda was actually amused to learn Harry had technically been Lord Black in his own timeline.

Andromeda had asked why he even told her about all this, Harry had said he couldn't marry her keeping a secret this big from her.

She had been quite happy with him for saying that, Yes she was happy in the life they were building together. Her Time traveling husband took care of her and in the end, that's all that mattered to Andromeda.

With a happy sigh, she too drifted off to sleep with a soft smile on her lips

AN: I cut most of the explanation about Harry leasing out his land from the first scene as it was just a pointless detail that had nothing to do with the plot of the story.

AN: I thought about writing the wedding scene but if I'm being honest, I hate writing wedding scenes. I could probably write ten chapters or more with what happens in this chapter and the next and I had to stop myself from adding more to it. These two chapters are meant to transition the story into the second act, similar to what part II of Imprisoned in the Past does.
