Chapter 14
"Going to the chapel and we're gonna get married," I mumbled the beginnings of the song, it was the only part that I knew, as I ran my brush through my hair.
"Knock knock," I looked over and saw Esme and Mrs. Mason standing in the door frame. "We're here with your dress!"
"Oh, please come in!" I said, trying to contain my excitement. Tanya quickly followed behind them. A glance was shared between the sisters before pulling out a long white gown. I knew it wouldn't be as fancy as I had seen but there was something beautiful about the simplicity of it all. It was a simple dress made of silk, tulle, and lace, this dress was accompanied by a long veil and a flower crown. "I love it!"
"I'm so glad," Mrs. Mason said, her voice quivering, "Try it on and let's see how we have to alter it. You look about my size when I was married so maybe we won't have to do much." Esme helped me get changed, the room went silent. It fit perfectly. It felt magical, like everything was coming together.
"Oh, Bella," Esme whispered, she wiped a tear from her eye before grabbing a box that she had set aside. "The dress is something old I suppose. This is your something blue…" My breath caught as I saw the necklace, she was giving me. It was a blue gemstone on a simple chain. It looked almost new, but I had no doubts that this was the necklace. I didn't want to accept it because I didn't know how it worked. If I touched it, would I go back to my time? Esme put it on me, I didn't want her to, but when she did nothing happened. I breathed a sigh of relief and touched it gently.
"It's beautiful…"
"Dr. Cullen gave it to me when we were married, I'd always dreamed that I'd pass it down to my daughter," she squeezed my shoulders, "I suppose I am."
"Can you help me change? I need to go talk to Edward…" I needed to make sure he knew that I would never leave by my choice. If I ever left, it would be against my will. Reluctantly the ladies helped me, mumbling about how he shouldn't see me before we got married. I wheeled my way out and towards the kitchen, I could hear Carlisle and Edward talking.
"I just want you to know how proud I am of you," Carlisle said, "Bella is a wonderful girl, she's different but I can tell you two love each other."
"Hey, sorry to interrupt," I said giving a small tap on the door. The men both rushed to help me in, I wasn't sure how I would feel once I was walking again with everyone always trying to help me. "I was wondering if I could speak with Edward?"
"Absolutely," Carlisle said finishing off his drink. "I'll see you two tomorrow, and Bella, it's going to be my honor to walk you down to this man tomorrow."
"What is it?" Edward asked staring at me, "Would you like to go to the parlor?"
"No, this is ok," I assured him then took my necklace off, "So, this is the necklace that was brought in that day."
"That brought you here?" I nodded, "Where did you get it?"
"Your aunt…" I grabbed his hand and placed a kiss on the back of it. "When I saw it, I just realized that you needed to know if I'm gone and it seems unexplainable then I went back, but not by my choice. I will never leave you voluntarily."
"Do you know how it works?" Edward asked taking it from my hands.
"I don't, and I was so scared that when she put it on me or when I touched it that I would be pulled back but…"
"But you weren't," Edward took a deep sigh before standing up and putting it back on me. "It suits you."
"Can you help me stand? I want to look at you at eye level," Edward did as I asked, he had his arms around my waist to give me the support I needed, and I wrapped mine around his neck. "This is my vow to you Edward Mason, that I will love you always and forever. I will love you through space and time, and I will love you even if we are separated. I will never stop loving you."
"Miss. Swan, you have a way with words," he said pulling me to him in an embrace, still giving me his strength. "And know that I am giving you my strength now to help you stand, even after you can on your own, you will always have my strength to stand. I am yours, now and forever Isabella Mason."
"You practicing using my new last name?" I chuckled; I could feel the rumble in his chest as he made a sound acknowledging he agreed. "I like it."
"You need to sit back down now," Edward noted, softly sitting me back down. "You also need to get your rest. Tomorrow is a very big day."
"I don't think I can sleep…" My stomach was in knots, not from nerves but sheer excitement. I couldn't remember a time that I was so excited about something. "I feel like a kid at Christmas."

"Do you, Edward Mason, take this woman to be your wife, to live together in holy matrimony, to love her, to honor her, to comfort her, and to keep her in sickness and in health, forsaking all others, for as long as you both shall live?"
"I do."
"Do you, Isabella Swan, take this man to be your husband, to live together in holy matrimony, to love him, to honor him, to comfort him, and to keep him in sickness and in health, forsaking all others, for as long as you both shall live?"
"I do, and for even longer than that."
"Edward, repeat after me…" My heart grew as I listened to Edward recite his vows. The look in his eyes, the way he spoke the words. It was like poetry coming out of his mouth.
"Isabella, your turn, repeat after…"
"I'm sorry, sir," I could see the look of panic in Edward's eyes, why would he panic now? I had just said I do. "Do you mind if I say my own vows? I know it's unconventional but then again so am I."
"I don't see the harm, go ahead…" I could feel the tension in the room, everyone wondering what I was going to say.
"When I woke up that day in the hospital, I had no idea where I was or how I even got here. I had to figure out a lot of things, and then I met this really amazing guy who visited me quite frequently with his checker board. He will occasionally throw the game and let me win," a few chuckles of laughter, "But more than that, his family made me feel like family. I don't know where I would be right now if it wasn't for him and them. Our courtship was unconventional, but again so am I, it was shorter than what it should have been. When I went through one of the hardest times in my life, he was there, and he never left my side once. After everything that we have been through, I never want to leave your side Edward Mason. I told you that I will love you forever, through space and time, and even if we are separated, and I meant that. I love you."
"Well, Edward, you have got yourself quite a girl."
"I am aware," Edward said and leaned in for a kiss but was stopped when the minister pulled him back.
"We are not there yet," he laughed then motioned for the rings. "Edward, put this ring on her finger and say, I give you this ring as a token and pledge of our constant faith and abiding love."
"I give you this ring as a token and pledge of our constant faith and abiding love."
"Bella, would you do the same?"
I took a quick breath and let out a small nervous laugh as I slipped the ring onto Edward's finger, "Sorry, I'm so shaky, but I give you this ring as a token and pledge of our constant faith and abiding love."
"By virtue of the authority vested in me under the laws of the State of Arizona, I now pronounce you husband and wife. You may kiss your bride." We leaned into each other, our hands still intertwined as we exchanged the sweetest of kisses. "May I present for the first time, Mr. and Mrs. Edward Mason."
I'm married.
