3 Months Later…
I'm currently living my new life. I settled in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, and immediately went to work looking for a new job. I applied for a general manager position at the Embassy Suites at DFW, they were in desperate need for a general manager.
This seemed to be a perfect fit, considering 'Leena Volkov' is on record to working for Marriot for 10 years, and having experience in management. I considered applying for a position at Marriot, but decided against it, I didn't want to put myself in a position for my past to be investigated. Embassy Suites hired me on the spot because of my experience and gave me a salary of $110,000 a year paid biweekly, $5000 quarterly bonuses, the potential for pay increases based on merit, as well as an array of benefits.
I remember thinking "holy shit" when hearing the salary, this was a big win for me. I've been described as 'highly intelligent' by the staff at Saarne, at least by the ones who were trying to help me, and not trying to use me as a human sex doll. It was time to use my 'intelligence' to learn how to run a hotel quick, and well, maybe I am highly intelligent. Through my ability to absorb information quickly and the extensive studying of hotel documents, I was able to become a fantastic manager.
My assistant managers, and lower management, were all stunned when they saw how small I was; however, I was able to win their respect. I remember when I was being on-boarded, I was asked to provide documentation of my disability, luckily Juicebox went above and beyond with giving me airtight documents. Though they never told me directly, I found out that companies get tax benefits for hiring people with disabilities. I should have moved to America a long time ago, it's amazing how much legal protection I receive here by simply being a disabled woman.
That's another thing, I finally been beginning to see myself as a woman, and not just a freak. Sometimes I want to kick myself a bit, for living my life as Tricia Albright put it 'a mutant grifter'. I was finally enjoying my life.
I am currently sitting in my apartment; I moved in after I landed the job. It's a very nice single-bedroom apartment in the Drakestone Building of Downtown Dallas. The rent is $1800 a month, I had the money for the required deposit, and renters' insurance is $150. Before I got my job, I was staying in a motel 6.
I am so grateful to be given $40,000 in cash, I was able to open a bank account, and buy everything I needed for my new apartment, all the furniture and appliances. I had gotten myself a new iPhone 3GS, a MacBook Pro, a big new Samsung TV. I wanted to spoil myself a bit, however, I am fiscally responsible. In my new life, I budget like the world's greatest forensic accountant.
I've managed to work on my accent in my long drive here to Texas. This was something I needed to fix quickly. I now am able to speak with an American accent, and I feel like I have a bit of a Texas accent developing. This is going to make my cover work!
As I sit on my couch watching Jerry Springer, I was wearing a Dallas Stars t-shirt and some black nike running shorts, I suddenly wanted to call Dr. Varava again, and tell him about my new life – nothing to give away my current whereabouts of course.
I still follow my case, so far nobody has any leads as to my current whereabouts. Kate has been declining to speak to press about what happened. As far as I am aware, police still believe I am in the tri-state area. I really do hope Kate is doing her best for Max and Daniel.
I plan on calling Dr. Varava from the payphone at Dallas Love Field during my lunch break the following day.
