Chapter Twenty-Five

.

~ June ~

Thursday PM

.

It came as no surprise to anyone that Sirius extended his little holiday living with Remus by another week. They didn't speak about it, even James didn't bring it up, and suddenly it was Monday night and another week began and Remus didn't feel the need to rip of his own skin and demand breathing space. Despite the oppressive heat, sleeping in just their underwear and using the ancient fan Remus had kept stashed in one of his cupboards, he revelled in the fact that he and Sirius had to sleep pressed tightly together. Naturally, most mornings they woke up, rolled about to face one another and initiated physical intimacy that stole the breath from their lungs and had them muffling their moans against sweat-slick skin.

The routine they'd settled into was good; Sirius would wake him up, usually with kisses, cuddles and wandering hands. While Remus lay there, catching his breath, Sirius would hop in the shower, get dressed, press a kiss to Remus' mouth and then bounce from the room for an early-morning run. During the interim, Remus would drag himself from his bed, have a quick shower, eat breakfast while watching YouTube news reels and once finished, would start work on going over his dissertation. His deadline was looming ever closer. When Sirius returned, they'd have lunch, Remus would attend a lecture if he had one, and then after they would zoom with the 'gang' as Sirius had started referring to everyone, and then go for a walk before dinner. It was all very domestic and Remus was surprised at how much he was enjoying it all.

.

On this particular Thursday, Sirius had popped over to see his brother, after going to see Arthur from the front garden of his and James' flat, so Remus was left to his own devices. He'd just finished his 1pm lecture, his earbuds still in as he closed the Zoom window and fired up one of his playlists on his phone just to erase the grating blur of the last hour and a half from his brain. Scrubbing his hands down his face, he decided he didn't have the brain power just then to do anymore work on his dissertation. He was exhausted with it. Did he really believe perfection existed?

Casting a look out the window where only a sliver of the blue sky was visible and debated on going for a slow walk in the sunshine just to blow the cobwebs from his head.

His thoughts were jarred down from the clouds by a text alert on his phone cutting his music off. Wincing, he unlocked the screen to read.

.

Padfoot (14:11):

I hope you're up and awake, Moon of my life! Get dressed, we're heading out ASAP!

.

Padfoot (14:12):

I also got you a chocolate muffin from James.

Apparently, he has been baking O_o the things that boy does when he's bored and lonely.

.

Remus smiled and shook his head. Yes, he was dressed. Only in cut-off shorts that barely reached his knees and a loose fitting t-shirt, but it sufficed in keeping him cool. He did feel a little guilty, having hogged Sirius' attention for almost three whole weeks, considering he and James were usually inseparable. Maybe he needed to sit Sirius down and explain to him that he needed to go home again? He adored the man's company, there was no question about that, but it was only meant to be temporary. That's what they had agreed.

A key in the lock made him jump.

Plucking the earbuds from his ear he had barely pulled himself to his feet before his door was opened and a pink-cheeked Sirius barged in, panting slightly, strands of hair pulling free from his ponytail.

"Are you okay?" Remus asked, reaching for him as he pulled the mask down around his chin.

"Good, you're dressed!" he gushed, ignoring Remus' question. "Grab your trainers, I want to show you something."

Frowning, Remus crouched on the bed and grabbed some ankle socks and blindly reached for his scraggly trainers. As he shuffled his feet into them, he asked, "Where are we going?"

"Grab your phone, I'll tell you on the way."

Rolling his eyes, Remus did as he was told, grabbing fresh latex gloves, hand sanitiser and a mask from the bookshelf by the door, before heading out. He locked the door behind him and hurried after Sirius into the sunshine. He had to jog a little but caught up with Sirius within moments, thanks to his long legs.

Strapping the mask around his ears, he asked, "So, where are we going in such a hurry?"

"Well, as you know I popped by to see Regulus and he is so close to committing murder, I'm genuinely concerned," Sirius stated, gesticulating as he did so. "He's found a place that seems to hit all the sweet spots; not overly expensive for a mortgage, close to main transport links and central enough not to be suffocating, and it's in a neighbourhood our parents would rather die than go near."

"That all sounds good," Remus agreed. "So, what's that got to do with me?"

Sirius grinned, his eyes crinkling behind his mask. "Well, as I've told you before, I have more than enough money, as does Reggie, for a deposit on a flat, but he would need help beyond that to manage the bills and survive on a decent level."

Remus faltered as they walked as the situation sunk in. "Wait, are we going to see this flat? Don't we need the estate agent's approval before all that?"

"Way ahead of you, Moony!" Sirius grinned, brandishing a set of keys from his back pocket. "Regulus got everything signed, sealed and delivered this morning and got the keys from the agent. I'd say he has around a month before money gets tight, so there's wiggle room on finding a roommate but -well," he hesitated, drifting to a stop. He raked a hand through his hair and shot Remus a nervous glance, "Look, I know this seems so spur of the moment and -you're right, it is. But he needs this, Rem, he really does. And I just thought, before anyone else got to come snooping about, you might want to take a look at the place first?"

Remus was floored. It was such an overwhelming feeling; he didn't know where to start. "Uh … I … wow, this is a bit sudden, Pads."

"I know, I'm sorry for springing it on you. I just didn't want to hang about."

"No, I get it. Um … I guess I can look? No harm in that, right?"

"Yes!" Sirius beamed. "And there's absolutely no pressure at all, I promise. I just wanted you to have first refusal, you know?"

Remus relaxed and smiled against the scratchy mask. Reaching out he took Sirius' hand in his own and laced their fingers together. He gave a gentle squeeze and nodded down the street. "Lead the way, Padfoot."

.

The wide block of apartments they stopped in front of was clearly a newbuild and looked far too expensive for Remus' mere presence near it; perfectly set brickwork, sleek, pale grey flagstones and seamless glass windows shone in the bright sunlight as Sirius punched in a code at the main door and pulled the door once it buzzed, letting Remus walk in ahead of him. Inside was even more impressive, even if it was a lobby. Remus was half expecting a doorman to appear out of thin air to greet them; the walls were a fresh, creamy white, the lighting was soft and a few potted plants were dotted around. His fingers itched; he wanted to go and see if they were real or silk. He took it all in, from the sleek, marble tiled floor, the two long walls of white metal lockers with ornate metal numbers on them, and to the right, a set of lifts and a set of sleek glass doors that led to the stairwell.

Sirius led him to the lift, pressed the button and they rode up to the third floor together. Even the interior of the lift glowed with newness. A bell chimed and the doors silently slid open to an identical corridor of creamy white walls and marbled tiled floors. Sirius led the way down the corridor, digging the keys from his pocket, and walking down to door 3B. Slotting the key into the lock, he opened the door and led Remus inside.

The walls of the apartment were bright white with light wood floors that looked freshly laid down; two doors stood to his left and straight ahead, before the hallway took a sharp right and led down past another three doors and into the main living area. Remus stopped, his jaw dropping at what he saw.

"Bloody hell!" he exclaimed, taking in the sleek, pristine kitchen area, the sleek, bright wooden floors and the doors that led out to –"Is that a balcony?!" he dashed over to the doors, fiddled with the handles and then stepped out onto the circular balcony.

Sirius chuckled as he stepped out behind him, squinting into the sunshine. "Yes, this comes with outdoor space, Moons. Granted the view isn't much."

Remus followed his grimace to the dry grassy football field of the sporting ground across the road. He shook his head, blinking to see if it all vanished. It did not. "This is insane! Can I -can I see what the rooms are like?"

Sirius shrugged with a grin, "Of course, it's why I brought you here babe."

Together the returned back into the quarter-circle living area, bypassed the kitchen and walked down the hall. Remus opened doors as he went, examining the storage cupboards and the first bedroom, then moving along to the second bedroom -which had an ensuite bathroom with a walk-in shower! -and then the final door by the entrance that was a second bathroom with a tub inside. He felt overwhelmed with just how pristine and perfect it all seemed without making him feel like he was trapped in a museum. He could only dream of ever living in a place like this. It made his gut squirm at having to return to his crummy studio afterwards.

.

Finding themselves back out on the balcony, soaking up the sun, Remus mulled over the state of his finances as he enjoyed the breeze that ruffled his hair. He picked at his fingernails and chewed his lip as he leaned on the iron railing, Sirius leaning beside him, their shoulders touching.

Sirius pressed a kiss to his shoulder and rested his head there. "What's on your mind?"

"Just thinking about my finances," Remus admitted. "And how I'd probably have to walk the streets just to be able to pay you back."

Rem, we worked all that out, remember? You'd be better off here, financially, even just by an extra hundred a month."

"A hundred doesn't go a long way these days."

"No, but it would be a start. When you get a job, it'll be different."

Remus hummed, unconvinced. "It's not just that, though. I don't own any of that furniture in the studio. I own books, clothes, the bedding and plates and cutlery. Nothing else. I'd have to buy it all new. Or … second-hand."

Sirius reached up to squeeze the back of his neck affectionately, "Oh, Moons, it's not the end of the world. You can always save up and I'm sure Reggie had some stuff you can borrow."

Remus scoffed and shrugged the hand from his neck. "You don't get it."

He turned his back on the balcony and went back inside, his shoulders hunched around his ears.

Sirius watched him go, wondering exactly where he'd fucked up this time. A stone dropped in his gut as he watched his boyfriend claw his hands through his errant curls. He decided to stay out on the balcony for a few minutes and let Remus gather his thoughts. As frustrating as it was that he couldn't just dash across the room and hug the mans problems away, he was aware that it wasn't the way to resolve all their issues. He tapped a rhythm on the railing and jiggled his leg to keep himself in check, scowling down at the dried out landscape. The soft squeak of Remus' trainers on the sleek wood floor was the only indication that the tall man was pacing while sorting out his thoughts.

He stiffened automatically when Remus came up behind him and hesitantly put his hands on Sirius' biceps, squeezing gently as though asking permission. Sirius leaned back a little, his back pressing against Remus' chest, inviting the man to lean against him, tucking his chin into his neck and winding his arms around his chest in a tender hug.

"I'm sorry," he murmured against the shell of Sirius' ear, sending a shiver down his spine.

"No, I put my foot in it like always," he hummed back.

Remus shook his head, his curls catching in Sirius' eye. "No, it's my hang-ups, not yours. I want to be able to have nice things, y'know?"

"I know, babe. I'm sorry. It's just … you know you can get a credit card, right? Just the one. And it's not like you have to max it out, you can literally just buy your new furniture and that's it. There are tons of cards that have twenty months zero interest. Hell, I got one like that for my first credit card! It was such a weight off my shoulders when we first started up."

Remus huffed a laugh. "You make it all seem so simple, Pads."

"Because it is, Moons," Sirius craned his neck to press a kiss onto his boyfriends jaw. "I know you get anxious about these things, but where there's a will, there's a way, right?"

"I suppose it wouldn't hurt to look at some options when we get home."

"The more information you have, the less daunting it will seem," Sirius shrugged, leaning back fully into Remus' embrace.

There was no denying the wise words. Humans did tend to have an innate fear of the unknown, even for something as silly as credit cards. Remus had always been against the idea; what was the point of spending money that he didn't have? He saw the movies, he knew how easily people got into debt, having wallets stuffed to the brim with little plastic cards, each overdue with their payments. However -he wasn't an idiot. It wasn't unreasonable to get a credit card, as Sirius suggested, so that he could buy decent, long-lasting furniture that wouldn't look sad and decrepit in such a beautiful, clean space. Not to mention, with the extra money he would be saving, he could easily pay off a small amount each month, as long as he didn't let it go to his head and keep on spending. Catching his lip between his teeth he hummed, letting his eyes roam over the view one last time.

"Come on, we'd best get going," he nudged his chin against Sirius' temple.

Sirius leaned away from the railing and followed Remus back inside. "Don't you want to take some photos of your potential new home?"

Remus' shoulders tensed. "Isn't that a bit premature?"

"I don't think it matters. If you decide against staying here, then you can just delete them."

That was reasonable enough. Taking his ancient phone from his back pocket, Remus started snapping some photos of all the different rooms, the balcony and the view. With each snap, he felt the giddiness build up inside him. He wasn't taking advantage of Regulus, was he? It was all paid for, all he had to do was contribute to the mortgage, sign his name on it, and save a little money each month. He could finally claw his way into a better way of living. Did it really matter how he got there, as long as it wasn't by dirty means?

.

The sun was casting long shadows across the pavement as they left and decided to take a leisurely walk back to the studio flat. The long walk would be enough to keep the cobwebs at bay. The more time they spent outside of the flat, the better.

As they walked, Sirius' hand skimmed along his own, their fingers lazily twining and releasing with each swing. Remus was glad that the mask was covering his grin. By the looks of things, Sirius was in a similar predicament. Sirius leaned back when they finally came to a stop and stretched all his muscles. Remus watched as the t-shirt rode up over his taut stomach; his throat ran dry and his muscles were cramping as he resisted the urge to push his hands up said shirt and gripping along the soft, pearly skin. Sirius caught his eye and sent him a saucy wink.

"Like what you see, Moons?"

"You fucking dirty tease," he growled.

Sirius tossed his head back and laughed brightly. Letting his arms drop to his sides, he came back up to stand in front of Remus, his eyebrow twitching in an amused manner. Their chests were almost touching, they could feel the heat emanating from one another. Remus was thrumming with adrenaline. Grabbing the front of Sirius' shirt, he pushed him back against the low brick wall of a carpark and yanked their masks down. Sirius barely opened his mouth before Remus surged forward and plunged his tongue inside. It was rough and dirty and the roughness, coupled with the threat of being reported only accelerated their heartrate.

"We should -g-get back -before someone sees!" Sirius grunted, mouthing his words against Remus'.

He growled into the kiss as he knotted his fingers around the back of Sirius' neck. The stubble was rough and sent electric sparks through them as he pulled Sirius' lips between his teeth and sucked hard.

"Remus!" Sirius laughed, breaking the kiss, holding Remus back by the shoulders. Their lips were red and swollen and the primal burn in those amber eyes made his gut twist. "Come on, let's go back to the flat!"

"Fine!" he grunted before smirking. "Brat."

Strapping their masks back on, Remus snatched Sirius' hand up and started tugging him back down the pavement at an accelerated rate in the direction of the studio flat. It was still a bit of a trek and their speed slackened a little. They twined their hands together and soon migrated to Remus looping his arm around Sirius' shoulders and holding him close, pressing a chaste kiss to the top of his head.

.

When they finally got back to the flat, their moods had mellowed a little but it didn't deter Remus from turning the moment they got in the door and cupping Sirius' face in his hands. He backed the shorter boy up against the door and moaned into his mouth as he kissed him deeply. Feeling Sirius' hands run up the back of his shirt and grip into his muscles spurred him onwards, his hips thrusting forward to pin him against the door. A shiver ran down his spine as he heard rather than felt his belt be undone and drop noisily to the floor. Sirius squeezed his hand inside Remus' underwear and he growled deeply, breaking away to kiss down the pale throat. They were both gasping and panting heavily as they grappled the clothes off one another and manoeuvred themselves to the narrow bed.

Pressing up on all fours, Sirius stared down at Remus, both in their boxers and skin tacky with the heat. His hair had escaped from the hair-tie he'd had it in, and the free strands framed his face. It stole Remus' breath away. Taking a breath, he reached up and combed his fingers through the silky strands and tucking them behind Sirius' ear.

He watched Sirius' Adams apple bob.

"Is this alright?" he asked breathlessly.

'I love you.'

The words sprang up, unbidden, and Remus didn't feel the surge of panic that usually accompanied such thoughts. His heart skipped a little as he brushed his hands down Sirius' sides and tenderly squeezed his thighs.

"This is perfect," he whispered.

Lowering his body flush down against Remus', Sirius brushed their mouths together in a tender kiss, one arm curling awkwardly around his neck and slotting their legs together. Remus held him close, arms wound tight around his boyfriend, inhaling deeply as they peppered one another with kisses. There was no denying the arousal they felt as they rocked their hips together, awkwardly clawing their underwear out of the way and kicking it off the side of the bed. Remus felt fear spike through him.

"Wait, wait, wait! We -we need a c-condom!"

Sirius looked flustered and floundered for a moment. "Right -right, right, right! There was some in the bathroom, right?"

Remus nodded hastily.

Ducking off the bed, Sirius hurried out to the bathroom and returned moments later. Straddling Remus' thighs, Sirius tossed the condom onto the bed and chewed his lip around a smile. "We don't have to do anything but I'd rather we were prepared."

Swallowing thickly, Remus nodded. "Sounds reasonable."

He reached out and took hold of Sirius, gently stroking him until he was fully hard again. The moan he let out set a fire alight in his belly. He started to stroke him faster and faster, their hips rocking. The bed squeezed as Sirius grabbed the headboard and panted into the hollow of Remus' throat as he was stroked to completion. He flushed and hid his head in his arm as Remus snagged a tissue and wiped at his stomach.

"Fuck, that's embarrassing."

Remus reached up and grabbed Sirius' face, smoothing a kiss across his mouth. "Don't be embarrassed, you look so hot when you cum."

"I wanna watch you cum," Sirius growled, pressing himself along the length of Remus' body. "I bet you look fucking spectacular."

Remus snorted and raked a hand through Sirius' hand. "How -h-how do you want to do this?"

"I don't care. I just want to see you, however I can."

Remus swallowed awkwardly before closing his eyes and exhaling heavily. "P-please. It's really important to me that -that this is good for you."

Mouthing along his throat and jawline, Sirius hummed as he felt the sharp fingers digging into his buttocks, spreading them tight. "Whatever we do, Remus, however we do it, it will always be perfect."

A deep growl rumbled out through Remus, vibrating through his chest and Sirius' thighs. "Do you -do you want to prep yourself or do you want me to do it?"

"I want to feel you inside me."

"Come here, babe," Remus pulled Sirius down against his chest and rubbed his warm palms up his boyfriends back.

He turned them so that Sirius was pressed down into the mattress, his legs spread wide under Remus' large, hot palms. He arched his back and whimpered at the lack of contact as Remus sat back on his haunches and gazed hungrily down at the boy beneath him, drinking in every inch of the pale, black-haired boy.

"Fuck, you're beautiful."

Sirius bit his lip. "I've got nothing on you, love."

Reaching over to the nightstand, Remus snagged the small sachet of lube, ripped it with his teeth and spread some on his fingers. He used a little more to spread it gently between Sirius' cheeks, around the tight ring of muscle. Sirius' breath hitched and he squirmed, peering up at Remus with heavily lidded eyes, his mouth falling open in a moan as Remus breathed him.

"F-u-u-u-ck, Remus, your fingers are so fucking long!"

He chuckled as Sirius writhed on the sheets, his head tossing back and forth as Remus worked him. He added a second finger and took great pleasure in watching as Sirius moaned and pleaded for more, his knuckles turning white from where he gripped the sheets. He ran his blunt nails over his stomach and chest and raked through his hair.

"I'm ready! Remus, please, I'm ready!"

"I want to make sure you're alright, love. I'm not exactly … small?"

Sirius laughed gently, "Babe, I am aware! I'm ready. Please."

Filled with a swirl of dread and arousal, Remus grabbed the condom from the folds of the bedsheets, opened it and rolled it on himself. He used the last of the lube to slick himself up before he leaned down and positioned himself between Sirius' thighs. He took his time, gently pressing into his boyfriend as slowly and gently as possible. He was hyperaware of the tight muscles squeezing around him, sending fireworks through his brain, whiting out everything out except for the touch and feel of Sirius beneath him. The moans that filled his ears were maddening. He felt so overwhelmed with the sensation, it was like he was about to choke on it as he slid in and out gently, easing Sirius wider and wider.

"Oh God! Oh God! Oh God!"

Remus swallowed each and every one of those moans, melting over his lover. Sirius' thighs squeezed him tightly, his heels locked around Remus' back, pulling him in deeper. He felt Sirius press his mouth into the joint of his shoulder and muffled a scream as Remus fully sheathed himself.

"Fuck, Sirius!" he hissed sharply, easing his hips in and out in short, sharp thrusts.

His heart rated spiked. Leaning up on his arms, hair falling into his eyes as Sirius gripped onto him for dear life, nails digging into his flesh as they moaned and hissed at the impact of skin slapping against skin. Leaning back on his heels, Remus gripped Sirius' thighs and dragged them up into his lap.

"Holy shit! Remus!" Sirius yelled.

Smirking, he thrust again, earning another cry of ecstasy from Sirius. Tugging Sirius' arms up around his shoulders, they managed to position Sirius until he was comfortable, straddling Remus' thighs and sinking him deeper around his lover.

Letting out a whimper, Sirius clung to him and buried his face in Remus' shoulder. His fingers threaded through his lover's hair, and he inhaled deeply. Remus pressed a kiss to his head, cradling him close. The atmosphere in the room shifted, turning from primal to something tender and exhilarating. They moved gently, Remus using his hands around Sirius' thighs to move him up and down his length, fast then slow, until they felt the liquid fire race through their veins.

Sirius came with a wet whimper, a strangled sob muffled against Remus' skin. Remus followed not long after, clutching Sirius' so tightly he knew he'd left imprints on his thighs and buttocks.

They remained that way for a while, Remus' arms the only strong anchor keeping Sirius upright, their chests plastered together. Their bodies heaved with every breath; their skin tacky where they were pressed close. Sirius had his face pressed into Remus' neck, breathing him in, his own hands gripping at Remus' back muscles. He ran his fingertips over said muscles, memorising the thready scar tissue, the mole in the small of his back, the ridges of his spine. Exhaling deeply, he revelled in their closeness. For Remus' part, he shifted somewhat, feeling himself soften and slide out. He kneaded Sirius' arse and thighs, nosing at his throat before shifting off his feet and easing their bodies down onto the bed. He made a point of removing the condom, balling it up in a tissue and tossing it into the bin. He grabbed another tissue and quickly wiped any smears of lube from himself and from between Sirius' legs.

Groaning, Sirius shifted so that he was on his side and instantly tangled their legs together. He curled up under Remus' arm and slinging an arm over his stomach.

"Was -was that okay?" Remus murmured.

Sirius let out a breathy laugh. "Rem, that was amazing. I can't wait to do it again."

Remus swatted at him. "Behave."

"No."

A pause. "You really enjoyed it? You don't have to spare my feelings if I was shit."

Sirius frowned and turned to look at Remus. He could only see the man's profile, staring up at the ceiling. "Moons, you're not my first. If you were crap, I wouldn't be breathless and desperate for round two. The only reason I'm not mounting you right now, is because I'm really sore. You're not a small man, Remus Lupin."

The levity died on his lips as Remus worked his jaw.

"Sorry," Remus sighed, groaning as he rubbed a hand down his face. "I just don't want to disappoint you."

"Hey now," Sirius leaned up and propped his chin up on Remus' chest. "Enough of that. I'm happy to take our time and go slow with sex and stuff, but don't worry. I enjoy myself with you."

Turning his head, Remus frowned. "Yeah?"

"Of course. If you don't want to fuck me until after the pandemic, I'll understand. But that doesn't mean I'm keeping my hands to myself."

Rolling Sirius completely onto his chest, Remus threaded his fingers through Sirius' hair and let out a shaky breath. "You really are too good for me. What did I do to deserve you?"

Sirius bit back the joke threatening to come out. 'Not the time for levity!' he chastised himself.

"Just embrace the good things, love. Enjoy them."

Remus swallowed, the knot of anxiety slowly loosening in his gut. He allowed himself to bask in the coolness of the room, the heat of Sirius lying on top of him, the drumming of his heartbeat in his ears and the calming quiet that had settled over the city. He let his mind wonder away from the beautiful boy in his arms, and instead let himself imagine what it would be like to have to be quiet while fucking Sirius, how it would feel to have to make awkward eye contact with his brother after said fucking, and sharing lewd looks with his boyfriend and then laughing at the absurdity of it all. Would it be a weight off his mind to lie somewhere clean and having heating and hot water at the touch of a button? To know that he didn't have to panic about using said hot water? Or to know that there was no possibly toxic mould growing in almost every corner of his room?

Logically, it seemed like it would be the case. Remus just didn't understand how his luck could have changed so drastically since living in the midst of a pandemic.

"Babe, I'm gonna go have a quick shower, okay?" Sirius grunted, dragging himself upright. He leaned over and pressed a kiss to Remus' mouth, before hopping over the end of the bed, snagging a towel off a chair and heading into the bathroom.

Once the lock snicked into place, Remus reached for his phone.

Sir Lupin (19:15):

You say 'finally' as though I've kept him prisoner.

Lily (19:16):

Well, James misses him.

Therefore, I hear about it.

Sir Lupin (19:18):

Is that …

Do you think that would bother you? After the pandemic?

.

Lily (19:20):

You know, maybe it's because of the pandemic but … No, I don't think it does. Or would.

James and Sirius are basically brothers. They're close.

I'd almost expect the boy to become a second shadow XD

.

Sir Lupin (19:22):

He does love James.

I'm learning that he loves very deeply and very strongly.

It's amazing to see them interact with one another, even over video chat.

.

Dorcas (19:24):

That's so lovely.

Eurgh, can this pandemic end please? I want to hug all of you!

Especially your other half's! How have you two hooked up in a pandemic?

I've barely left the house!

.

Sir Lupin (19:26):

You've not met Marlene for a socially distanced date?

.

Dorcas (19:27):

Only once.

Mum got a bit freaked out and sort … made my own curfew :/

So, it's just video chats / dates for us at the moment.

.

Lily (19:29):

That's still sweet though!

James has been doing those. It's quite sweet!

.

Dorcas (19:30):

I know. But it's been weeks now!

We know each other! I want to hold her hand!

I want to know what it feels like to kiss her.

I want to see if the chemistry is in ALL parts of us.

.

Sir Lupin (19:31):

I get that. Things might translate differently on text / video calls than in real life.

.

Lily (19:32):

Well, that's true. Typing or on video call you can put on a front.

It's different if you spend several evenings with someone.

You get to know them on a deeper level.

.

Dorcas (19:32):

I'm not even watching the news recently.

Unless BoJo announced a return to work, or whatever, I just DO NOT care.

I don't need to know that the US and UK are not in the top WORST lot for deaths.

How have we surpassed Italy?!

.

Lily (19:35):

I know what you mean.

I know it seems shallow to be waxing lyrical over a boy when all this other shit is going on but …

Dear God, I need something positive in my life, you know?

.

Dorcas (19:37):

10000000000000000000000%

Marlene makes me feel brighter and laugh a lot.

For now, even if we don't end up dating IRL, it's great.

.

Sir Lupin (19:39):

You know … I think I want Padfoot and I to last.

It feels weird. I've not had a boyfriend before. Not really.

I just … I'm thinking the 'L' word a lot and it freaks me out.

.

Lily (19:41):

Oh, love, why?

Isn't that a good thing?

.

Sir Lupin (19:42):

How do I know it's the 'L' word, and not Stockholm Syndrome or something?

.

Dorcas (19:43):

Well, you've survived being around him, living with him and being distanced from him.

I'd say what you're feeling is natural.

.

Lily (19:44):

Same.

Just because you MET properly during a pandemic, doesn't mean that's what conditioned your feelings.

You two connected. Even I can see that!

.

Sir Lupin (19:45):

I suppose.

.

Dorcas (19:45):

Are you going to tell him?

.

Sir Lupin (19:45):

Isn't it a bit soon?

.

Dorcas (19:46):

Remus, with the way everything is these days, is it a bad thing to love someone?

.

Sir Lupin (19:47):

I guess not, no.

I do, though.

It's almost overwhelming.

Like there's not enough air in my lungs to get the words out.

.

Lily (19:48):

Remus, love. Don't tell us. Tell him 😊

.

Sir Lupin (19:48):

Maybe …

.

Dorcas (19:49):

Remuuuuuuuuus ¬_¬

.

Lily (19:49):

Remus!

.

Sir Lupin (19:49):

Okay, okay, I'll tell him.

Maybe not tonight, but I will.

Soon xox

A/N: I know it's longer than normal, but ... I hope you like this regardless x
