okay, I sorta lied, but not intentionally.

I am writing the next chapter currently but I wanted to flesh my OCs out a little.

so enjoy.

team 7 was currently sitting around a campfire.

they were currently on a mission to deliver a package to Kumogakure to give it to the current Raikage.

Naruto got up "I'm going to go collect more firewood, you three stay here. understand?"

they all collectively nodded.

"good, take care." the blonde then went into the forest.

team 7 sat there in silence.

it was then Akinen looked at her teammates.

Rikisu was roasting some marshmallows and Ryuken was reading a book.

she wouldn't admit this, but she had grew a little bit of a crush on the pale boy, and she wanted to get to know him a little more.

she also wanted to know more about Rikisu, cause outside of missions, they didn't speak a whole lot.

she spoke "hey guys."

Ryuken put down the book he was reading and Rikisu swallowed a marshmallow he was chewing.

"what's up Akinen?" Rikisu said.

Akinen tried her best to think of a conversation starter before it hit her "if you don't mind me asking, why did you guys decide to take up being ninjas?"

Rikisu shrugged "fame really."

Akinen sweat dropped at this "really?"

"hey, I have to convince some people to help restart my clan somehow."

"and the fact that you have a kekkei genkai in a village that's obsessed with kekkei genkais isn't enough? come on, there's got to be something more."

Rikisu sighed "fine. it's also so I can prove that bastard 3rd Mizukage wrong. show him that us blessed with kekkei genkais aren't demons and are capable of compassion. there, you happy?"

Akinen nodded, and turned towards her crush.

Ryuken sighed "truth be told... I believe that it's the only thing that I am good for."

Akinen was caught off guard by this response "what do you mean by that?"

"do you guys know about Root?"

"oh yeah, it's that underground organization that did some dubious things, that was also ran by the 3rd hokage's former friend right?" Rikisu said.

Ryuken nodded "yeah, I was trained under that organization."

the two went wide-eyed at that.

Akinen grew a small frown, imagining what Ryuken must have went through.

"Kami, I guess that explains why you were rookie of the year huh?" Rikisu said.

"yep, I was taken under the organization's wing when I was 6."

"how did you get under their wing in the first place?" Akinen said.

"oh, it was by no means intentional. you see, I was simply a replacement for who they were actually after."

Rikisu raised an eyebrow "can you explain?"

Ryuken sighed "thanks to the various seals placed on me by the organizations, that can't be removed due to the fact it'll kill me if they're removed, my memory is a bit fuzzy. but you see I had a big sister, who I think was named Tari-"

"wait, if there are seals on you then how-" Rikisu was cut off.

"shut it and let him explain." Akinen said.

"you see, some of the memory suppressing seals were removed, just not all of them. anyways like I was saying, I had a sister named Tari. she was a bit of a prodigy, a very note worthy one especially since we didn't come from Konoha, but one of the smaller villages in the land of fire, so my parents decided that we should move to Konoha."

"but?" Akinen said.

"but unfortunately, Danzo had taken a interest in her, so sent some of his personal agents to kidnap her and kill me and our parents. sadly they fucked up the ambush and by the end of it, my family, including my sister, was dead."

"man, to lose your family at such a young age, I'm sorry man, I feel your pain." Rikisu said, remembering when he lost his mom.

"yeah, anyways the guys, worrying about their own asses, saw that I was still alive and hoped that Danzo would have been okay with me as a substitute."

"did it work?" Akinen said.

Ryuken shrugged "I don't know, I never saw them again and I know that Danzo wasn't one to tolerate such failures, so they were most likely killed or at the very least punished severely."

"damn, what happened next?" Rikisu asked.

"well, Danzo decided to take what he had and so I was taken under as a member of Root. several years of 'training' and so much more. like how to handle getting tortured, and crap like that."

Akinen's frown only grew, she hated that her crush was denied a normal life by a scumbag like that "so what happened after Danzo died?"

"I didn't even find out about the fact until two years after the fact. I was 9 when he died, incase you are wondering."

"so you were still getting trained even though the bastard was dead?" Rikisu said.

Ryuken nodded "yeah, I was trained from a base that was miles away from Konoha, so no one found out that Danzo was dead, until the current Hokage ordered that all Root bases be raided, at that point I was freed and most of the seals that could be safely removed were removed and so after not knowing what to do... I decided to become a shinobi."

Akinen grew small tears at her crush's tragic story.

"what about you?" Ryuken asked.

Akinen grew a small smile at her crush wanting to know "well you see I come from a small clan that doesn't even get represented at the council, I've been told by many people that my clan is good for nothing and I simply wish to prove them all wrong."

Ryuken smiled at the red orange haired kunoichi "that sounds very nice. same with you Rikisu."

Naruto then finally returned.

Naruto and team 7 entered the Raikage building.

there a dark-skinned young woman with green eyes looked up at them "ah, you must be here to deliver Raikage-sama's package, follow me."

they did just that, eventually entering the Raikage's office.

there a blonde man with a muscular build and a goatee swirled around his seat to face them.

"thanks for sending me the fools. now you all better have my package or I'll lose my cool." the Raikage Killer Bee said.

team 7 sweat dropped at the Raikage's rapping.

"uhh, sure. here." Naruto said, tossing the package.

Bee caught the package, and quickly opened it up, revealing that it was a certain orange book that Naruto, along with the Bijū, recognized.

'Oh Kami, he's a pervert.' "Oh Kami, he's a pervert."

Naruto and the rest of team 7 entered Konoha.

Naruto looked down at his genin team "okay guys. you have the rest of the day off. I am going to give my report."

and with that Naruto was off.

as Ryuken left, he was suddenly grabbed by Akinen.

"hey Ryuken, wanna hang out with Rikisu and I?"

Ryuken shrugged "sure, I've got nothing better to do."

Akinen smiled.
