86 times, he has been rebooted. 86 lives he lived through. And like any Exo who has gone through too many resets, his memory has started to act up. He no longer remembers anything from his past. The only thing he remembers is the death of his old friend Cayde, killing Savathun, and defeating Rhulk with a team of guardians. Kilios-86 Exo titan whose memory is waning with each passing day. Now for what he's doing is a patrol in savathuns throne world.
"Ed, you still with me?"
"Still here, Guardian."
"I can't remember our mission. What was it again?"
"Didn't you write it done on your tracked mission?"
"No, I forgot to do tha-" Kilios didn't finish the rest of his sentence as his ghost pinned what the quest was on his hud,
"Thanks." Kilios checked his tracked mission to see where the location was. After conforming, Kilios told his ghost to transmit his sparrow. Without responding, Ed puts his sparrow in front of Kilios, and he gets on and speeds off. While speeding, he receives a call from one of the vanguards.
"Guardian, it's Ikora. Stop your patrol and check out a location for me. I got new intel from Fynch that the scorn are moving unknown pyramid tech, and I need you to intercept them for me and bring in the tech. Good luck, guardian."
So with the new change of plans, Kilios check his map for the new location and makes sure to put a marker on it. Doing that, he speeds off to the new area.
After arriving, he sees the entrance to a cave. Seeing that the marker is there, Kilios gets off his sparrow and enters the cave.
Descending through, Kilios could hear the sounds of machines buzzing and heavy footsteps. Going further in, Kilios sees what is causing both the machine buzzing and the heavy footstep, a scorn walker. He also sees two abominations, ten wraiths, 30 lurkers, 20 stalkers, and a chieftain.
The place is enormous. It also contains tons of materials like weapons, armor, and an item of interest, which must be the supposed pyramid tech Ikora wants.
"Ikora, I see the tech you want, but we have enemies. No surprise there. Also, may I ask what this tech is?" Kilios waited for an answer but heard no none. "Ikora? Ikorrraaa. Nothing." Looks like I'm on my own here. "Ed, you got any idea how to do this. Since we are on our own now?"
"Well, sneaking is out of the equation cause you suck at that.
Going in shooting everything will get you killed fast with that many enemies. Hmm, I guess a good start will be to take a shot at those things."
Saying that Kilios ghost pined what to shoot at. The object is an hourglass-looking barrel that looks like pyramid tech but has red lines covering the middle. It also doesn't take a genius to guess it might explode if shot at too many times. But hey, there was one time when that wasn't the case. So seeing that, Kilios gets out Dead man's tales. Once shot, the hourglass-like barrel exploded, which also caused a chain reaction exploding other barrels which consumed the whole place, including him.
Once the explosion subsides, Ed manifests on top of where Kilios used to be. He sees that the blast did take out everyone here who is nothing but ash now. Ignoring that, Ed gathers his light to revive Kilios, and in a burst of light, Kilios appears again.
"Well. I wasn't expecting that. What were we here for again?"
"Pyramid tech."
"Right that." Kilios looked at the location where the supposed item of interest was, but it was no longer there. Instead, it was at a corner tilted sideways. Approaching it, he saw that it was barely damaged from the explosion. "It looks like those superweapons that the scorn try to use from time to time in the throne world. But different? Ed, you got any idea what it may be."
Kilios ghost floats near the tech and starts scanning it with his beam, and after a while, he says, "No clue. Also, since you forgot to check in with Ikora earlier, I did it for you?" Kilios nods his head, and his ghost shakes his shell sideways in disappointment before disappearing into his inventory with the tech. Before heading out, Kilios can't help but think that this was easy. Too easy. That and why is there a signal jammer here. Deciding not to dwell on it too much, he heads back to the cave's entrance.
Kilios started reaching the entrance again, and while getting near, his comms began coming back to life again. "Guardian! Hello, can you read me!" The panicked voice of Ikora was heard, so Kilios responded quickly.
"Ikora. I'm here, memory and all... for now."
Hearing a breath of relief, Ikora replies, "Thank goodness. I tried to reply to your ghost but got no response. Either way, you're ok. Do you have the tech?"
"What tech?" He said with genuine confusion. In response, Ed answered fast to that small remark.
"YES! Yes, we do." There was a brief pause there, then Ed said, "Well, at least we think we do? You didn't really give us a description of it."
"Apologies, I too wasn't sure myself. But Fynch said it did stand out the most with all the other pyramid tech."
"Well, you are right about that," Kilios answered, "out of all the tech I've seen AND remembered. This one does differ from the rest. Now, where do you want me to bring this."
"For now, bring it to the Enclave. Then head to the city. You've earned some rest for now." Ikora said, "And if I have any news, you'll be the first to know with Zavala."
So disappearing in a flash of light, Kilios goes into his ship to drop off the tech at the Enclave before he forgets. After that, he heads back to earth. Arriving on Earth, Kilios transmits into the city and heads to a bakery. After arriving at the front of a bakery, he looks at the sign reading it. Berto's bakery the place where Kilios spends his free time at. And so kilios enters the bakery.
"COMO ESTAN MI AMIGOS!" He yells out, which causes some faces to turn to him. But a woman at the counter responds differently by yelling to the back of the bakery.
"EVERYONE! KILIOS HA REGRESADO!" yelling that out the door leading to the back of the bakery is knocked off its hinges, and kilios sees a group of kids and adults rushing him. And the next thing he knows, he is tackled to the ground in a big family bear hug.
"Ooowww. Good to see you all. Well, to those I remember anyways." Saying that some faces there turned to worried ones. "Kidding. Well, not too much since you know how I am." Some of them let out breaths of relief but still had uneasy looks on that last remark. "But I'm trying my hardest to not forget you all. Without you all, I would be more lost than I am." All the faces there then turned to a delighted one. But the mood was ruined quickly.
"Hey, not to ruin any of this. But some of us are trying to get some bread here." Was the reply of a customer waiting for his food. The whole family responded by turning to the guy with an annoyed expression causing the man to shrink.
"He's right," said Kilios, "as much as I want to catch up. We got a bakery to run sooo. VAMONOS!" In response, the family: with a determined look, got back to work in serving the customers. And so the whole day was spent with kilios helping the family's bakery.
