Interlude 01: A Grandfather's Plan

Valentine's Day.

A holiday that originated from the West. Originally the origin of Valentine's Day is not clear and the events that led to what it became today started in the 17th Century.

Regardless, how it started this is what it is today. A day for lovers to exchange or expression their feelings together. Or something even… more.

Like walking down the street holding hands! [1]

And during this fine day, a certain elderly gentleman at a prestigious school is finishing signing off some documents in his office. After the task was done he crossed his arms and nodded sagely to himself.

"HAHAHAHA!" he laughed jovial. "I can safely say that everything is going quite well today!"

"Is something amusing, Hanzo-sama?" a voice called out as someone entered the room.

An ash-colored man in a suit came in.

Kiriya-sensei. The teacher that teaches those in the shadows.

"Nothing much." Hanzo stroked his mustache. "I was wondering how things were going with young Chris-kun today. I went to see my granddaughter and many of her friends to offer some advice and materials for Valentine's Day."

Kiriya-sensei started to sweat. "Y-You did?"

"Of course!" Hanzo breathed out through his nose, a puff of air comical exiting out of his nose. "I see the young man as my own grandson and I wish for the best for him in life. And the girls are quite taken with him. I just wish to help him along the way and realize his true destiny is all."

"May I ask, why?"

"Why, you said!" Hanzo seemed offended by such questions. "Because, harems are the ultimate heavenly bouncy paradise that all men seek! It's is my job, no my duty, to prepare him for such trials and to help him towards this goal. To live a life of happiness and content. This will help him with his dream of making a better Shinobi world!"

In the back of his mind, he perversely giddily chuckled to himself as he imagines the various exotic situations Chris will be in and the boy might regale to him as he offer wise words to handle such situations. Now to mention hoping to get cute great granddaughters in the future. [2]

"That is why, I want him to embrace the dreams of having a Harem!" Hanzo clenched his fist proudly. "A dream that every man wishes, I give him this as my gift on Valentine's Day."

"Is that so, dear?" an eerie and angry voice spoke up from behind Hanzo.

Both men jumped and looked to see who appeared in the room so effortlessly.

An eye-catching long green shirt, white kimino shirt, and dark gray jacket as easily spotted. But, even those weren't the cases no one can mistaken the bright red scarf around the elder woman's neck along with her pearls.

Lady Sayuri. Hanzo's wife.

"S-Sayuri, darling!" Hanzo spoke up fast and shakily. "What a pleasure surprise! Did you come to spend time with your dear husband on Valentine's Day?"

"Hmph." she growled. "I did have thoughts to come visit my husband just to make sure he isn't up to any mischief. And what did I learn? That you gave some of the girls advice and items to corral sweet young Chris into undesirable situations?"

Hanzo paled a bit. "N-No?"

Sayuri glared harder. "Is that right? Now, if you think I'm opposed to him getting a little harem to himself. I don't mind. The boy proven his determination and that he cares for everyone and treat them all fairly. Why, I even brought my students over to spend Valentine's Day with him."

"Oh!" Hanzo seemed rather pleased. "Then you agree? I mean, we both took to him quick easily when he first came to us. Though I suppose, Asuka's father did help pave the way a bit. Hahaha!"

However, he got bonked in the head with a cane.

"Fool!"

Sayuri was still angry. "It's one thing to help nurture a loving relationship, but creating those situation is more of your desires than his, right? Sure, some of the girls interested in him already would've done that, but you didn't take his feelings in consideration too or even talk to him!"

Hanzo lowered his head. "You're right. I didn't prepare… I mean… cough… sit down with the boy and talk about his thoughts on the matter."

"Oh no, you don't" Sayuri pulled up her sleeves. "It's fine if he wants a harem—which seems to be the case—however you do this for your entertainment and trying to get an eye-full of those girls doing those kinks to him and how it benefits you!"

"N-N-Now Sayuri-chan! Darling. Sweetheart! Let's take a one moment to calm down. I just wanted the boy to experience life and home another here! You only got one life after!"

"Now how about I teach you what I desire this Valentine's Day with you, my dear foolish husband!"

"AHHHHH!"

And like that Hanzo took off like rocket at the window with Sayuri in hot pursuit.

The Shinobi instructor could only shake his head at the antics of the headmaster and his wife as Sayuri began chasing after him in the courtyard angrily.

Valentine's Day is a blessing and cursed holiday.

And speaking off...

"Where is my GOSHUJIN-SAMA?!" a loud screeched erupted behind Kiriya-sensei.

The older Shinobi teacher deeply sighed as he knows whose voice that sound belongs to.

Turning around he saw an angry Nine-Tailed Black-Haired Vixen glaring at him while the Red-Haired Lady Oni standing at the doorway looked apologetic smile as she patted her friend's shoulder.

"So, Hanzo has do what to our beloved Chris-sama?" the lovely Oni turned her attention to the teacher. Her face quickly morphed into a pleasant sweet smile. Though it was anything, but with the dark aura around her.

Overhearing what Hanzo had set up the object of their affection has irked the two in their own ways.

His Yoma admirers… erm… lovers were very aggressive in their own rights. [3]

Kiriya-sensei could tell this was going to add more fuel to the fire today. (That poor boy is going to be traumatized on Valentine's Day for the rest of his life...)

Fun Tidbits

[1] I don't know where this HAND-HOLDING meme came from where it's a scandalous thing. Though I did play Dragon Quest XI and came across a certain monster that got excited at the process of hand-holding. And I wonder if this is where it stemmed from?

[2] Weirdly enough, Hanzo kinda drooled even over his own granddaughter in one of the OVAs where she's competing with Homura. I know, it's his granddaughter and very creepy and weird. But that's just how he is so I'm sticking with his establish personality in the series.

[3] These are two OC that I plan for my series. They will appear later. This is just a tease about them. But, they will appear at the end of this Valentine's Day special story.

Author's Note: Happy Valentine's Day everyone! Honestly, I wasn't planning ANYTHING this year for my Senran Kagura Valentine's Day side-story until I got my main story continued first.

However, an idea popped into my mind yesterday as I wanted to do something for my stories and art and I was thinking what are the adults doing in the background? And this came to be.

It's a short chapter, but I hope you all enjoyed this unplanned and shadow dropped chapter for this story.

I might go back and update this one. This one was quickly put together in a few hours today.

Not to mention I'm teasing two of my OC's here from my story. One which you could guess while the other is planned to appear in the Sequel, Senran Kagura 2, so a little preview here.

And it spring'd an idea for me to that I had for a while. Interlude chapters for my main Senran Kagura story. I was thinking of doing one to explain what Chris's short time at Asuka's house was like and add a bit more context on their relationship and with the rest of Asuka's family.

If you guys don't mind that is.

And don't worry. This side story will continue with the Gessen Girls. When I get to them in my main story.
