DISCLAIMER: I OWN NOTHING. THIS IS JUST FOR FUN.
Hello everyone. I know its been a while and I'm sorry about that. But as you know, life can get in the way of things.
But I am back and ready with a new chapter. This one I made in... Well I cant say in celebration, cause well... It was really dumb what they did to this character. So I'm gonna say, in response to Black Panther Wakanda Forever, I've decided to do a more accurate take on the Atlantian King.
So enough talk and on with the show.
Namor the Sub-Mariner
The Ocean, a vast and mysterious place. All the years of exploration and humanity has only explored less than 10% of it. As a result, many legends have been passed down through the ages, from different cultures around the world.
The most popular and well known of these legends is the lost continent of Atlantis. An entire civilization, sunken beneath the waves. Many have theorised its existence and have attempted to find the lost country. But none have ever found it. At least, as far as the public is concerned. For those that are privy to what goes on behind the scenes, the legends are true.
While the lost continent may be beneath the waves, it is far from uninhabited.
Deep beneath the waves of the Atlantic Ocean, the humanoid alien fish-man known as Ripjaws, swam through a deep-sea trench. His legs merged into its tail form as he effortlessly glided through the currents.
The Alien Avenger is on the lookout. Rumours of a seismic activity have been recorded along the oceans tectonic Fault line. While some people are sceptical about this being any more than just a simple shift in the plates causing a mild tremor, those in the hero community suspected that this might be the work of Atlanteans.
The relationship between the people on the surface and those beneath the waves has always been rocky. The Avengers, Fantastic Four, X-Men and several others have all worked to maintain a semi-peaceful relationship between the two sides.
Unfortunately, with how some organisations in the world treat the oceans. Maintaining that peace is a constant chore for the heroes.
Not that Ben could blame them. After all, if someone kept dumping their trash into his home, he would be annoyed too.
But he couldn't stand by and let innocent people suffer, just because a few jerks didn't want to put their plastic bottles in the recycling.
After swimming for a few minutes down the trench, Ripjaws sensed something ahead. Diving down to the field of kelp growing on the sea floor. The Alien Teen slowly moved through the plants as he came across what he was searching for.
Atlanteans, a large squad of them. He could tell they were Atlanteans from their blue skin and the twin set of gills on each side of their necks, located just above the clavicle bone. Other than that, they looked almost identical to human beings.
They wore clothing that looked primitive compared to humans, being fashioned from bones from sea creatures and cloth woven together from either skin or ocean plants.
This particular group wore a kind of armor and held weapons, clearly establishing that they are soldiers. Most wielded weapons that matched their primitive appearance, mostly spears and tridents. But some of them actually possessed advanced looking energy rifles. Almost alien looking in terms of tech from the Alien Hero's perspective.
The Atlanteans all gathered near the walls of the under-sea cliff. A series of devices all lined the side of the stone mass as a few of the Fish People were tinkering with them.
Just then the sound of an engine echoed across the trench walls and the Atlanteans stopped their actions and all stood at attention.
A squad of vehicles glided over the ridge of the chasm, they looked to be an advanced hover bike, only an aquatic version that propelled themselves through the water. The cockpits were all open as the drivers could all breath underwater.
The lead transport arrived at the bottom of the trench and the occupant, dismounted. He was a large Atlantean, easily dwarfing the others. He had broad shoulders with golden armor covering his body. Including a metal chest piece and helmet, both with a high wing design on the shoulders and ears respectively. A long blue cape flowed from his shoulders along with blue gauntlets and boots, which had a scale like patterns on both.
An unusual sword hung from his belt. It had three blades that were in the shape of a trident attached to the handle, with the two outer blades being serrated, much like a shark's tooth.
In this light, his eyes seemed to be white and pupilless.
He is Attuma, Atlantean Warlord and enemy to all mankind.
The Barbarian of the Seas swam over to his subordinate. An Atlantean with an eyepatch over his right eye, bowed to him.
"You may speak, Lovex. What is the progress?" Attuma asked in a regal tone.
"Thank you, my Lord. Progress is going well. We have located the weakest point of the Tectonic plate and have prepared the devices." Lovex informed his master.
Attuma grinned at the answer. "Excellent. Once the devices have detonated. The entire plate will destabilise and send the pathetic surface dwellers plummeting into the seas."
Ripjaws eyes widened upon hearing the plan. Destabilising an entire tectonic plate was insane. Yes, it will cause a large portion of the continents to plummet into the ocean, but it would completely mess up the oceans as well. Billions of lives, on the land and the sea will die if Attuma does this.
A few of Attuma's soldiers seemed to agree with the Teens mentality. As one of them approached him.
"Forgive me, my Lord." The Atlantean spoke up. "But, Atlantis lies beyond this trench. Would destroying the plate, not result in Atlantis's destruction?"
He was right. Atlantis was located right on the tectonic plate he was about to sink. Attuma has been obsessed with ruling the undersea kingdom for all his life. He couldn't possibly be that crazy.
Attuma turned to the Atlantean, anger present on his face. In one fluid motion, Attuma's hand grabbed the Warrior by his neck and lifted him up. The Atlantean gasped as he struggled in Attuma's vice grip.
"I will not have my commands questioned." Attuma snarled. "I am aware of where Atlantis lies. But the city can be rebuilt. Its people can come back stronger. Those who survive, will be welcomed into my new kingdom. So long as they bow to my rule."
The Alien Teen couldn't believe what he was hearing. That this guy was willing to sacrifice his own people, just so he can be in charge.
That was not gonna fly with him. He needed to stop this guy. But first things first, he needed to disable those seismic charges. Any one of those goes off along the fault line and a whole city could be underwater from a tsunami.
But with so many Atlanteans in the area, it would be hard enough. But with Attuma also present, the Alien Teen saw this dude take on the Hulk blow for blow. While Ripjaws had no doubt he could wipe the floor with the Lord of the Murky Deep, underwater at this depth, he didn't have access to his heavy hitters. Even with Ripjaws being in his element, he wouldn't be able to match the Aquatic Warlord in raw strength.
He needed an edge to keep the Fish Men off his back while he works.
Fortunately, that edge arrived in the most unsubtle way possible.
"IMPERIUS REX!" A voice cried out and a projectile impacted on the sea floor, so quickly that the Alien Hero and Atlanteans barely saw it, before it kicked up a cloud of sand and rock, blowing most of the sub nautical citizens away and staggering Attuma.
When the dust cleared, everyone got a clear view of the projectile. Which turned out to be a man. Seemingly another Atlantean, due to the fact that he wore no protective gear or breathing equipment. In fact, aside from a bright green, scale pattern, speedo, with a gold coloured belt with a clam pattern on the buckle and a pair of golden arm bracers on his wrists, he didn't wear anything at all. Showing off his athletic physique.
Unlike his fellow Atlanteans, his skin was white, with a hint of a tan. His hair was black and cut short. His eyes were dark blue, like the sea he inhabits. His ears were pointed like an elf, with a pair of gills behind them.
But what was really unusual about him are the set of tiny, white feathered wings that are on both of his ankles. Like he glued on a pair of dove wings onto each of them. But that wasn't a fashion choice, those wings were real and apart of his body.
He is Namor, The Sub-Mariner and King of Atlantis.
The King of the Seas stood tall. In his right hand, he wielded a long golden trident, the Trident of Neptune. An ancient mystical weapon that allowed Namor to channel the power of the Seven Seas.
"Attuma! You dare to threaten the people of Atlantis!?" Namor yelled at Attuma.
The Warlord chuckled in clear defiance. "I do what is necessary, Half-Breed Mongrel. You're connection to the surface world has made you weak to do what needs to be done."
Namor pointed his trident at Attuma. His glare, cold as steel. "I have little empathy for the surface dwellers. But I will not sacrifice the lives of my people in a fruitless attempt to destroy them."
Ripjaws rolled his eyes at Namor's disdain for humanity.
"Then you are a fool!" Attuma snapped back. He drew his sword and the Atlanteans all raised their weapons at the Sub-Mariner.
"I will give you all one chance to surrender." Namor warned the group. "This battle is between us Attuma."
"If you think my followers will bow to you if I fall. Think again. My legacy will live on in my people." The Lord of the Murky Depths claimed.
"Oh, their deaths will come soon enough." Namor stated. "I merely wished to not soil the waters with their filth."
Attuma bared his fangs at Namor as he raised his sword. "Finish the mission. The false king is mine."
The Warlord charged, swimming at high speeds with his sword at the ready. Namor grinned as he shot towards Attuma like a torpedo. Their respective weapons clashed, causing a massive shockwave that knocked most of the Atlanteans away.
With all the focus on the Sub-Mariner, Ripjaws took this opportunity to swim right up to the seismic bombs. Getting a close look at them, the tech certainly seemed alien. He wasn't sure how to properly disable it without setting it off.
Suddenly, Ripjaws felt a shift in the water pressure behind him and he swiftly dodged to the left as a spear impaled the wall next to him. The Alien Teen turned to see a group of Atlanteans swimming towards him. The eye-patch wearing Lovex in the lead, with the other two raising their ray guns at him.
"Namor, must think we're fools. We knew he wouldn't be arrogant enough to come alone. But his distraction failed." Lovex said in a prideful tone.
Ripjaws had to keep himself from laughing as Namor was indeed that arrogant.
"Oh no. You caught me. Guess you guys are just too smart for us." Ripjaws said in an over-the-top sarcastic tone.
Course his tone flew directly over the Atlanteans head as Lovex chuckled in response. "Indeed. You would be wise to surrender and perhaps Lord Attuma will spare your life."
"Hmm. Tempting offer. But I'm gonna have to pass." The Alien replied.
Lovex narrowed his eye at the Avenger and pointed his weapon to him. "You would be wise to take up my generous offer. You have no chance to defeat us all."
Ripjaws chuckled in response as he locked eyes with the squad leader. "Dude, you have no idea, who you're dealing with. Lemme spell it out in a way you'll understand. In this pond. I'm the shark, you're the minnow
Ripjaws shot forth, with just a flick of his strong tail. The Atlanteans pulled the triggers of their guns and fire two beams of energy at the Aquatic Alien. Ripjaws easily dodged the beams with impressive speed as he shot his right claws towards the closest Atlantean and slashed his weapon apart like a knife to hot butter.
The second Atlantean swiftly turned his ray gun on the Young Hero, but Ripjaws lunged at the weapon, his jaws opened wide. With a loud chomp, Ripjaws bit the ray gun in half. The Atlantean stared in shock at his weapon, bitten in half like a shark would do to a seal. He was so shocked that he was completely caught off guard by Ripjaws, powerful right hook to the face. Knocking him out cold, while he simultaneously incapacitated his partner with a strike from his tail.
"What the…" Lovex started to say before Ripjaws slammed into him and knocked him to the ground.
Times like this reminded the Alien Shapeshifter how awesome Ripjaws is. He never really got a chance to show off his abilities since most of his fights tend to take place on land, or space. Beating up a bunch of Atlanteans really reminded the Teen just how powerful this form can be.
"Ok, that takes care of them. Now to deal with…." He was cut off when a beam of energy struck him in the back, knocking him down.
The Alien Avenger lifted his head to see that the attack came from Namor's trident. The King of the Seas twirled his golden weapon in his hands before stabbing it into the ground. Energy flowed from the mystical weapon into the sand and stone below and the grounds rumbled.
Suddenly the ground beneath his feat erupted and the sand and stone formed into two enormous humanoid golem beings, each one standing 30 feet tall. Their eyes glowing the same energy as the trident.
The two golems looked down at Attuma and his soldiers and lunged forth to attack.
Meanwhile, Namor broke off from his enemy and instead charged straight at Ripjaws. His trident aimed right at him as Namor swam at incredible speeds. The Alien Teen barely managed to catch the tridents forks in his claws before he was impaled. But the force of Namor's attack did push Ripjaws back into the wall of the cliffside, slamming him against the stone hard enough to crack it.
Ripjaws strength, while impressive, was barely able hold back Namor's trident as the Atlantean King pushed against him.
"Namor… Namor is me! Ben!" Ripjaws grunted as he fought Namor's strength.
"I know." Namor responded, in an annoyed tone. "And I warned you what would happen if you intruded in my oceans again."
Ripjaws groaned, they were really going to do this again. Namor has always been a hothead and never played well with others. Any time someone comes too close to Atlantis's location, Namor would quickly put them on the receiving end of his trident, fists or whatever sea creature happens to be close by. Even if they worked together in the past, Namor would still punch first and ask questions later.
Fortunately for him, the First Mutant was not fully committed to killing him. The Young Avenger saw this guy trade blows with Hulk and Thing. If he really wanted him dead, he would be.
"Come on, Dude. I'm trying to help here." Ripjaws groaned as he struggled to keep the prongs of Namor's trident from sinking into his chest. His arms shaking from the strain.
"I need no one's help." Namor snapped. "The King of Atlantis will handle all that transpires in these seas."
Ripjaws strained himself as he continued to struggle. But he still managed to glare at Namor with frustration. "Are you really that arrogant that you'd risk putting everyone in danger, just to prove you don't need help?"
Namor raised his eyebrow in response to the question. "You dare to question the King of the Sea's?"
"When he's being a real jerk. Yeah, I would!" Ripjaws responded, harshly. "Look man. I couldn't care less about what you think about me or humanity as a whole. That stuff doesn't matter when innocent lives are in danger."
As he spoke, Namor's strength started to lessen as he listened to the Alien Shapeshifter.
"I'm a hero. And heroes save people. Regardless of who or what they are. Whatever gripes you have with me can be hashed out later. Right now, we have lives to save."
While they spoke, one of Namor's golems got its head obliterated by Attuma, who proceeded to go after the second one.
The King of the Sea's glanced in the direction of the battle before turning his attention back to the Alien Teen. He then retracted his trident and Ripjaws let out a gasp as he let his body relax as he panted heavily.
"I will never admit to needing your help, Ben Tennyson. But in the interest of saving Atlantis and its people. I will allow you to fight at my side." Namor said begrudgingly.
"Fantastic." Ripjaws replied with the same gusto.
Once he finally composed himself and caught his breath, Ripjaws looked up at the Atlanteans and the devices. "Ok first thing we need to do is…"
He shopped when the blade of Namor's trident pressed against his throat. The King of the Seas, gave the Alien Fish-Man a threatening look.
"Do not presume to give me orders, Changeling. None may command me." Namor stated in a severe tone.
"Ok. It's cool." Ripjaws gulped as he help up his hands in a placating gesture.
Namor nodded as he lowered his trident. "We shall attack on two fronts. I will deal with Attuma and his followers. You will disable the devices and you will do it without fail."
"Got it." Ripjaws agreed as he prepared to move, only for Namor to vice grip his shoulder.
"Keep in mind, that should one of those devices detonate. I will impale your heart on my trident."
If he were on land, Ripjaws would have broken out in a cold sweat from the First Mutants threat.
The Teen gave the Atlantean King a determined look as he held his hand over his heart. "I swear. Not a single bomb will go off."
Namor seemed hesitant to put his faith in a Surface Dweller, but he needed to focus on the bigger picture. Especially since his last Golem got completely obliterated by Attuma and his Soldiers.
The King of the Seven Seas gripped his trident with both hands as he swam right at Attuma. The Soldiers aimed their ray guns at him and opened fire. Namor swiftly dodged the first couple of energy bolts, then blocked the remaining shots with his trident.
Namor aimed his trident and fired a beam of mystical energy from the weapon. The energy bolt struck two of the Atlanteans, knocking them down. Namor then hurled his trident like a spear, which shot through the water like a harpoon and impaled a third Atlantean in the stomach with enough force to send him flying into the wall and imbedding the prongs into the rock, effectively nailing him to it.
The First Mutant didn't lose any momentum as he launched himself into the middle of the group. Despite being outnumbered, Namor was not concerned as with a swift right hook, he sent one soldier flying into the cliffside. He then raised his arm to block a strike from another soldier before swiftly kicking him in the stomach, stunning him as he tossed him into another two.
Being in the middle of the group, the Soldiers with rifles, couldn't fire at him without hitting their own men. An advantage the Sub-Mariner easily took advantage of as he grabbed their rifles, crushed them like tinfoil and proceeded to use the damaged rifles to bash them into submission.
Attuma gritted his teeth as he watched Namor tear through his team of highly trained soldiers like nothing. Brandishing his sword, Attuma shot forward aiming to skewer him with the tri-bladed sword.
However, Namor proved to be too swift for the Warlord as he pivoted to the side, allowing the sword to glide past him as he responded with a powerful right hook to the face.
A shockwave burst from the impact, but Attuma was only staggered by the attack and was only pushed back a few feet from the blow.
Attuma rubbed his cheek where Namor punched him. Then grinned at the Atlantean King.
"You've grown soft, Namor. No wonder you had to resort to getting help from an outsider. Conquering Atlantis will be easier than I thought." Attuma taunted.
Namor clenched his fists in frustration. Bad enough that he even lowered himself to accept the help of a surface dweller, but to have Attuma rub it in his face.
"The King of the Seas needs no help. I am simply allowing this Surface Dweller to save his own home as your actions threaten both Atlantis and the surface." Namor tried to deflect. But even Attuma could tell that Namor was reaching with that statement.
"Lie all you wish, Sub-Mariner. But Atlantis will be mine. It is my destiny, as foretold." Attuma boasted as he stabbed his sword into the ground and raised his fists.
"Do not believe everything you read." Namor shot back as he got into his own fighting stance.
The two Atlantean warriors charged each other, and their fists collided, shaking the entire canyon from their brute strength.
Meanwhile, Ripjaws swam over to the nearest bomb and started examining it. The device was certainly advanced, certainly beyond anything most humans could make. Unless it was from Stark Industries or Wakanda.
These devices were certainly up there, meaning its way beyond what Ripjaws is capable of defusing. Over his years as a hero, the Alien Teen has had to defuse a number of explosive devices and has had to learn how to disarm the average bomb that criminals have put together. Even a dirty bomb on several occasions, but the advanced stuff, a certain brainy alien is required.
A tape of the Ultimatrix, a flash of green light and Ripjaws turned into the tiny, grey alien with a mega brain. "GREY MATTER!"
The Alien Avenger took a brief moment to thank the creator of the multiverse that Grey Matter species has gills, allowing him to breath underwater. He quickly paddled over to the device and examined it.
His advanced mind analysing the composition of the device, the metals, the weak points, finding an access hatch that allowed him to get inside and analyse the internal structure, including the wiring and the power source.
In any other form, this kind of stuff would go way over his head. But not for Grey Matter, to him this was child's play. A quick tug on a few wires and diverting some power back into the core and the device short circuited and shut down.
The Tiny Alien quickly exited the device and reached up to tape the Ultimatrix symbol on his back and transformed again.
"AMPFIBIAN!" The Alien cried out.
As Grey Matter, he quickly deduced that the devices can be disabled by a strong electric charge to the core will overload it and disable it without setting the device off.
Holding out his tentacle, the appendage turned intangible and phased into the device. Blue electricity flowed along the limb into the core and the device sparked and the lights went out. A small metallic clink sounded, and the device fell off the wall, floating slowly to the ground.
Satisfied the Jelly-fish Alien swam over to disable the remaining bombs. Taking great care to focus on the only hitting the core each time, otherwise he could accidently set them off. The sound of the battle did not make this task easy.
He managed to work his way down the line and disabled a majority of the devices. Only one remained, so Ampfibian wanted to make quick work of it and get out of the area before Namor and Attuma, disable the tectonic plate themselves with their fight.
As he approached the last bomb, a strong hand suddenly grabbed on of his tentacles and yanked the Alien Teen back, spinning him around and whipping him into Namor, sending both tumbling into the cliffside.
The Alien Teens vision became blurry from the sudden attack as he looked up at the blue and golden fuzzy image that he assumed to be Attuma. As the Warlord bared down on the two of them.
"I will not allow a pathetic Monkey from the surface to ruin my destiny." Attuma said venomously.
Ampfibian groaned as he raised his head. "I'm a Jelly-fish you Doofus."
"You are a Changeling. You pitiable fool. And unhand me this instant!" Namor berated.
Due to Ampfibian's physiology, his tentacles managed to get completely tangled up with Namor after he was thrown into him. But, thanks to his powers, instead of wasting time untangling himself from the Sub-Mariner, he simply went intangible and returned his limbs to their proper positions.
"Sorry, dude." The Teen apologised.
"Don't call me, Dude" Namor snapped.
"Sorry, King Namor, the Sub-Mariner, First of your name, King of Atlantis and the Seven Seas, Ruler of all…"
"That's enough." Namor groaned in annoyance of the Teens deliberate mocking.
"Ok." Ampfibian replied with a chuckle in his voice. Namor groaned as Ampfibian turned his attention to Attuma. "And Dude. It's over. You're outnumbered and you only got one bomb left. It's over."
Attuma smirked, before letting out a deep and loud cackle. This confused the Alien Avenger and Sub-Mariner as they shared a look.
"It is far from over." Attuma stated. "One bomb is more than enough to destabilise Atlantis and cause the destruction I desire. But even more. I planned on Namor arriving to thwart my plans. I knew in his arrogance he would come alone and bring Atlantis's greatest weapons with him. Weapons that I could obtain for my own benefit while the Half-breed was distracted by his own ego."
Attuma then reached under his cape and pulled out a three-foot-long horn that seems to resemble a spiral shell.
Namor's eyes widened in shock as he reached down to check his belt. Finding nothing there as he looked back to Attuma, flabbergasted. "The Horn of Proteus. But how?"
Ampfibian was pretty surprised he didn't notice that Namor had the horn on his person from the start. The dude wore gauntlets and a green speedo, how and where was he keeping that? Then again, Ampfibian wasn't exactly interested in looking the First Mutant over. Unlike a few of the Woman he knew, you looked like they wanted to serve him up with a side of butter.
But apparently the Sub-Mariner had this horn on him, which only made the Alien Teen even more confused. What could this horn do and how could a horn work underwater?
"Big deal. It's a horn. What's he gonna do, ply us to death?" Ampfibian said nonchalantly.
"Arrogant Fool. The Horn is one of Atlantis's most powerful weapons." Namor snapped at the Alien Teen.
"Indeed. And now its power is mine to command." Attuma boasted as he raised the horn to his lips.
"No!" Namor yelled as he stepped forward, reaching his hand out to stop the warlord.
Unfortunately, he was too late. Attuma blew into the horn and from it, erupted this noise so intense, so loud that Ampfibian had to cover his ears with all four of his tentacles. Namor, on the other hand, pushed through the intensity of the horns sound and tackled Attuma, knocking him down, causing the horns sound to cease.
Ampfibian lowered his tentacle arms as Attuma and Namor grappled with each other. The Sub-Mariner desperately trying to get the horn from Attumas grip. But the Blue Skinned Atlantean kept and iron clad vice grip on the artifact.
The Alien Avenger attempted to get closer. With Namor keeping him occupied, Attuma won't be able to use the horn to make that noise and do, whatever it was supposed to do.
But, before he could get close, a monstrous roar echoed through the canyon causing everyone to freeze.
A dark shadow flowed over them as the Jellyfish Alien looked up in shock.
Floating above them was a Titanic Sea Monster. Easily 200 feet long, with a white belly and blackish blue on the top, almost like a killer whale. It's head and body resembled that of a sperm whale, but with a wider jawline with two large fangs, protruding outwards from the upper jaw. It had a long whale like tail. It had four legs with four digits on each appendage with an opposable thumb on each of its front legs. Extending from the wrist of both front legs were a long fin-like appendages, resembling that of a sting ray's fins. With both fins extended, it made the gargantuan creature look like its flying with giant wings.
This creature is Giganto, Atlantean Sea Monster.
When the Alien Avenger first met this creature, he first confused it with Mole Mans giant monster. That is until he learned that there are two giant monsters both named that are named Giganto. So, to help him differentiate from the two, Ben came to call this creature Aqua Giganto and the other one being Terra Giganto.
The Giant Monster roared as it descended down into the canyon. It's massive bulk grazing the sides of the rocky walls, knocking debris loose.
The Massive Beast opened its maw and unleashed a mighty roar that shock the entire canyon.
Ampfibian and Namor both backed up from the beast as it loomed over them, snarling with it pearl white fangs on full display.
"Um. Ok Spock." Ampfibian said nervously as he backed up. "Time to call your pet off and get back to pounding the bad guy."
"I cannot." Namor replied in his own nervous tone.
"Huh?" The Alien responded, slightly shocked. "What do you mean, I've seen you ride this thing before. Isn't he your pet?"
"Giganto belongs to no one. He's loyalty is only commanded by those who wield the horn." Namor explained.
"That's seems like a really big flaw. Ever tried feeding him or taking him on walks?" Ampfibian chastised.
Attuma let out a boastful laugh as Giganto advanced on them. "You see, Sub-Mariner. Even the Beast knows who the rightful king of Atlantis is."
Namor tore his attention from the beast to the War-Lord. Anger burning in his eyes. "A claim that bares as much truth as a shark being able to swim backwards!"
The Atlantian War-Lord laughed once more. "Well, Half-Breed. Unlike yourself, I am a shark. Born to the seas, never tainting myself with the knowledge of the land. Unlike you, you filthy, bottom feeding, Mudskipper."
"RAHHHH!" Namor roared as he shot towards the Attuma like a spear.
The moment he did, Giganto moved to intercept the Sub-Mariner. Only for a flash of green light, followed by a pair of green beams of energy to strike the Sea Monster in the face, causing it to real back.
The Giant Creature shook its head and looked in the direction of the beams origin and saw the red alien manta-ray alien, Jetray.
"Hey, Ugly! Catch me if you can!" The Alien Hero taunted the giant monster.
Giganto roared as it lunged towards the alien. Only for Jetray to disappear from view just before Gigantos jaws crushed the area he was in.
The Giant raised its head, only for a blast of green energy struck the back of its head. Causing it to roar in pain as it turned around to see Jetray, floating behind it with a big grin on his face.
"Gonna have to be faster than that slowpoke." He quipped.
Giganto roared and lunged at the Alien Hero. Jetray smirked as he easily swam around the Giants attack, with such speed that he actually left bubbles of air due to heat generated from moving so fast.
The Young Hero couldn't help but feel good in his current form. He doesn't really use Jetray in an aquatic environment, he never really had the opportunities as he mostly fights enemies on land or in space. The water hardly ever comes into play.
But now, in this moment, Jetray felt right at home.
Swimming around another attack, Giganto grew frustrated with the aliens hit and run tactics. So, the Titanic creature raised its fins and flicked its tail and it launched off the ocean floor and swam directly at Jetray.
Despite its size, the Gigantic Sea Monster, shot through the water like a freight train. To anyone else, this would be terrifying. But to the Alien Avenger, he didn't even flinch. A burst of speed and Jetray easily dodged the Sea Monster, getting right behind it.
However, Giganto seemed to learn from Jetray's previous attacks, and he spun around to face the Alien before he could attack again.
Only, the Giant Sea Monster proved to be too slow as Jetray dived down and rammed into the Monsters gut at full speed and, in an incredible display of strength, tackled the Giant Monster into the ground, causing a small tremor as Gigantos massive body carved a massive trench into the ground.
The Sea Monster trashed around on his back as he tried to turn himself right way up.
With the monster temporarily down, Jetray spared a brief moment to check on the battle between Namor and Attuma.
The clash between the Atlanteans had escalated into an all out brawl. With both combatants forgoing their respective weapons and instead are now duking it out with their fists.
Namor and Attuma clashed together while propelling themselves into open water, where they separated and put a considerable about of distance between each other before swimming back at such high speeds that their clashes generated shockwaves throughout the ocean.
The sheer ferocity of the battle was enough to make Jetray think twice about getting involved.
The ferocious growl of Giganto recovering from his fall, brought Jetray's attention back to the monster.
He needed to put a stop to this beast. But, taking it out wasn't an option. While it was currently trying to kill him, Jetray knew how much Namor loved this monster. So, putting down Free Willy, wasn't an option. He needed to calm that creature down. But to do that, he needed the horn. The horn that was currently attached to the Aquatic Warlord who was engaged in a death battle with the King of the Seas.
The battle raged on with no end in sight as Namor and Attuma generated another shockwave after both delivering powerful haymakers to each other's faces. Sending each other flying back.
Attuma chuckled as he waved away the blood cloud leaking from the side of his jaw. Namor mimicked the action with the blood from his nose.
"I will say, Half Breed. This battle has been thrilling. But, I believe it is time to end this. I will give you one final chance. Kneel at my feet and I may spare your life." Attuma declared as he crossed his arms in front of his chest in a confident manner.
Namor snarled at Attuma's ultimatum. The very notion of surrendering to him was so repulsive, he would spit if that action carried any meaning underwater.
"Surrendering to you? I would rather see Atlantis itself, crumble to dust and be swept away by the seas." Namor spat back, venom dripping from his tone.
"Then it's time to end this." Attuma stated, getting into a fighting stance.
"Indeed, it is." Namor agree, preparing for another bout with his enemy.
They proceeded to circle each other, gliding on the water currents as they did.
Attuma smirk evilly as he glared at the Sub-Mariner. "After I defeat you. I will be sure to allow you to lament as you accept that you, who is only half Atlantean, could ever think that you would ever be able to challenge a full blooded Atlantean, like myself."
The Sub-Mariner clenched his jaw. Attuma never grew tired of pouring salt into that wound that has followed him since birth. No matter how much he tried, he will never escape the fact that he was half human.
But that did not stop him from working hard to earn the respect of his people, nor did it change the love he has for his kingdom and all those who live in the sea. He may have, surface dweller blood running through his veins. But, he will never let that stop him from defending his home. Especially from tyrants like him.
"You are correct Attuma, I will never be a full blooded Atlantean like yourself." Namor admitted. Earning a cocky grin from his enemy. "But, you claim this blood to be a weakness. I beg to differ."
Namor then launched himself at Attuma and grabbed the Warlord by the fabric of his clothes. Pulling him close as their eyes locked into one another.
"Why don't we get some fresh air!" Namor exclaimed.
The moment Attuma realised what Namor meant, it was too late. The King of the Seas rocketed straight up towards the surface, dragging Attuma behind him as they shot straight up.
The pair burst from the surface of the water. But, their accent didn't stop as Namor continued to drag Attuma into the sky. The wings on his ankles, flapping at impressive speed as they allowed him to soar into the sky, hundreds of feet above the water.
Namor smirked as he lifted Attuma to his eye level. "You know why I rule, Atlantis? Because I can defend it from threats both on the surface and beneath the waves. Like you."
The Sub-Mariner proceeded to punch Attuma directly in the face, sending him flying across the sky.
Gravity then took its effect on the Atlantean as he plummeted back to the water. But Namor intercepted him and dragged him back into the sky, by his ankle and tossed him back into the clouds. The Sub-Mariner proceeded to continuously repeat this action, pummelling the Warlord over and over again.
After several minutes of repeated beatings, Namor finally relented his onslaught and allowed Attuma to hang from his cape as Namor floated in the air. His armor broken, his clothing torn and his face battered and bruised as he panted heavily, his blue skin turning paler the longer he was out of the water.
Being Atlantean, Attuma grew weaker the longer he's away from the water. His strength, his stamina, his very life drained away when taken out of his natural element.
Namor shared this weakness, but to a lesser degree. His human half, allowed him to remain out of the water indefinitely, with only his superhuman abilities growing weaker the longer he is out of the water. But all it takes is a splash of water to restore his strength, unlike Attuma, who requires full submersion in order to stay alive.
The Sub-Mariner contemplated just remaining in the air and allowing Attuma to dry out and perish. It's certainly how a King would handle those who have gone against his rule. He would've had no hesitation executing him on the spot for his crimes.
But. What would that accomplish? Sure, he could kill him, but then another rogue Atlantean would just take his place. And on and on it would go, with no real resolution. If he wanted to earn the trust and respect of those doubt his rule, perhaps violence isn't the right path to take.
Namor mentally cursed himself. Continued interaction with those heroes on the surface world have clearly impacted his judgment. He then sighed, but perhaps they do have a point in this matter.
The Sub-Mariner floated back down to the ocean below. Casually dropping Attuma, several meters above the water with a satisfied smirk.
Entering the water, Namor swam down to the sea floor where Attuma had sunken. He kept a close eye on Attuma as the colour slowly returned to his face and his breathing became steady.
Attuma's eyes fluttered open as he turned to face Namor. He grimaced at the sight of the Atlantean King. "What's this? Granting my final breath before ending me?"
"Tempting." Namor replied, dryly. "But, no. You will not meet your end today, Attuma."
The Warlord lifted his head to give Namor a full view of his confused face. "Mercy, Sub-Mariner? Hardly your style."
Namor chuckled. He then turned his back to Attuma and looked out at the clear waters ahead of him. "Indeed. But, your death will only enrage your people against Atlantis, even further. Our conflict is between us, not the sons and daughters of Atlantis. They should not suffer, due to our feud."
Attuma's expression softened upon hearing Namor's statement. At first, he thought he was delirious from dehydration, but a quick assessment of the area indicated that this was real. Namor was actually sparing his life.
It was infuriating. To think this half breed, not only bested him, but to then spare his life. Like it wasn't even worth the trouble. It was unheard of for a member of the royal family to give such leniency.
Well, Attuma was not about to let this insult stand. If Namor did not have the strength to finish him. Then he will make him regret this mistake.
Summoning his strength, Attuma reached to his side and drew the Horn of Proteus. No doubt the beast Giganto has already finished off the Surface Deweller. Now it shall do the same to Namor. Perhaps he will summon as many beasts as he could with the horns power, just to ensure that the Sub Mariner is finished once and for all.
He raised the horn to his lips and prepared to blow. Suddenly, a red blur, zipped past his gaze, snatching the horn from his grasp.
Attuma blinked in shock as he turned his head to see Jetray, the horn in his hand, as he looked back at the Warlord and Sub Mariner.
"Hey there. Sorry about this, need to borrow the horn for a sec. Giant Monster, still chasing me." Jetray said in a rapid and panicked tone.
The Alien Teen then put the horn to his lips and blew into it. The Horn unleashed a horrible noise that caused Namor and Attuma to cover their ears from such a terrible, earsplitting sound.
Giganto seemed to agree, as the monster appeared over the ridge, roaring and thrashing wildly the more the Alien blew the horn.
Eventually Namor had enough of the Shapeshifters horrible playing and snatched the horn from him.
Jetray glanced at Namor's annoyed scowl and gave a nervous laugh.
Namor let out a sigh and smirked. "It's an Atlantean thing, Ben Tennyson. Observe." The King of the seas, teased.
He then blew the horn, letting out a loud, but harmonious tune that instantly calmed the Sea Monster. Giganto let out a low grumble as it lowered its head to Namor. The Atlantean King swam up and petting the Titanic creature, before it swam off to parts unknown.
"Wow." Jetray said, surprised. "Who knew you had a soft side."
"I am kind to those who deserve it, Tennyson." Namor replied, casually. "Like now. Notice I still have yet to run you through with my trident."
"Your kindness knows no bounds." Jetray replied, sarcastically. "Well now that he's taken care of. What about…"
He turned around to look at Attuma. But to his shock, the Atlantean Warlord had already vanished.
The Emerald Avenger quickly dashed over to the canyon and saw that Attumas Men had also disappeared from the area. All the confusion with Giganto allowed them to sneak away completely unnoticed.
"Oh Man. They got away." The Alien berated himself for being so careless.
"Indeed. But he will return. And I shall be ready for him." Namor declared.
Jetray glanced towards the Sub Mariner with a soft smile. "You know. You don't have to do it alone. Plenty of heroes up there that would be more than willing to help out." He suggested.
Namor scoffed as he faced the alien. But took a moment to ponder the idea. "I will never lower myself to ask the Surface for help." He stated firmly.
"However. should a surface dweller come to my aid, by their own free will. Then I will not object to their presence."
The Alien Hero was taken aback by what he just heard. With how stubborn the Sub Mariner can be, he honestly didn't expect that.
Jetray grinned as he flapped his wings and rose up from the sea floor. "Good enough for me."
He then held up his hand, keeping his three fingers wide as he said goodbye to the King. "Live long and prosper, Spock. I'll catch ya later."
With that, Jetray took off. Flying to the surface at incredible speeds, before taking to the sky and heading home.
Saving two continents and fighting a Giant Sea Monster on the same day. Boy, will he have bragging rights over the others for week after they hear this.
There it is. I hope you all enjoyed this chapter. I've thought Namor deserved more attention. But, what they did to him in the movie. I really wasn't a fan. So hopefully this version will satisfy those who also did enjoy the MCU portrayal.
Up next, in celebration of the new movie coming out this year. The Guardians of the Galaxy are coming to party!
Until next time. CaptainRex75 out!
