After things had settled their group was on the move at first morning light. Filo was apprehensive at having to share the road with not one but two dragons now, but promises of larger meals from Naofumi dampened them. They were now following after Otto's cart with Rem riding atop Patrasche alongside Subaru. The Oni in question being rather serious about sticking to his side.
Naofumi wasn't going to complain. Having someone to actually guide them, and who remembered the native language was a huge help to their whole plan. Now his only worry would be when Magic 2 woke up and started getting chatty with them. But that's for later, now he just has to keep his eyes glued to the road.
Keep a look out for any signs of trouble.
Kazuma walked through Wiz's 'dungeon' in a trance. Magic 2 followed after him as the Resident Undead gave him a wide berth. Wiz had already been given the news and she had one decision for it, to give him ownership of the Dungeon.
She took a small group of undead, Sophia, and Yuika, and teleported out while leaving him with the deed for it. So it was technically his now, not that he needed it. He stopped walking as he arrived at Wiz's "Bossroom" which was more of an office than anything else. He walked past the cabinets filled with papers and magic items, dragging a hand over the hard oak desk in the center of the room before he took a seat in the large comfy chair behind it.
Magic 1 watched him as he just leaned back in his chair. He breathed in, running a hand over his face as he did so. He looked down at a small stack of papers that had been left on the desk. His eyes scanned them for but a second before he looked right at Magic 1. "I'm not ready for this." he stated in an emotionless manner as Magic 1 just performed something resembling a facepalm.
The sound of a door opening grabbed Hajime's attention. Myu rushed to his side and wrapped her hands around his leg. She didn't speak a work as Hajime turned on the chair and looked down at his adopted daughter. "What's the matter Princess?" he asked with genuine concern. "Papa, you've been in here for days. Big Sis and Auntie are getting worried." She said before she started climbing onto his lap. "I'm sorry... Its just that..." Hajime paused, trying to think of what was best to say. 'I've gunned down whole armies with little issue, why is talking to my daughter so difficult?' he asked himself. "I'm worried, and angry. What Ehit did to Kaori, to Shizuku, to Sensei, to Me. It lights a fire that becomes an inferno. I'm worried about what he would try to do to you, and the rest of us." Hajime paused pulling Myu closer as she wrapped her arms around his torso. "Papa shouldn't worry so much. Grandpa said it'll make your hair grey." Myu responded. "Grandpa?" Hajime asked. "Sis Filo called Ainz Grandpa, and he doesn't mind that I do to." Myu answered.
"Ah, that's rich coming from him. But you're right, I should take a break." Hajime said as he scooped her into his mechanical arm and stood up. Walking out of the room he found a haggard Kaori running towards him. "Hajime, Sensei's awake." She said before grabbing onto his free arm. Before he could protest she was already dragging him off towards the medical area of Nazarick.
When they reached the room that Sensei was in he saw that most of the others had already been gathered as well. Ainz was there in disguise alongside Shizuku as he slowly fed a health potion to Aiko. Aiko didn't fuss as the liquid began healing some of the pain and sores from being in a unconscious state for several days. No one spoke as Aiko leaned back and looked out at those around her.
"Nagamo... What you told me, he's..." She began, only to start trailing off as she tried to shrink in on herself. Hajime handed Myu to Yue and approached her as Ainz backed away. "Ehit did this, didn't he?" He asked, fully knowing the answer. Aiko just nodded before rubbing one of her arms. "He's possessed Kouki, and making some of the others do... things." Aiko breathed out before she began tearing up. "I... I couldn't..." She breathed out before breaking into a sob. Hajime didn't move back, even as she reached out and grabbed his arm. "Please, help them." She begged with sadness in her eyes.
Hajime said nothing as he turned his head to Ainz. "Were more than capable of moving out now, all I need to do is make a Gate to the capital and that's won't take long." Ainz answered his unspoken question. "We'll get him for this." Hajime said as he turned back to Aiko.
He drifted away, letting Aiko look around at her new surroundings. "Tio, I want you to call Rimuru and inform him of the dituation. I wsnt the rest of you to stay with Sensei. I left most of my weapons back at the room." Hajime quickly set out a plan as Ainz just shock his head before he teleported out of the room.
Rimuru rubbed his head in exacerbation as the bad news just kept rolling in. First Kazuma is now unavailable due to the Demon King nominating him for another general position. Now the confirmation that this fake god Ehit had possessed one of Nagamo's classmates and was holding the other's prisoner. At least Magic 1 and Information Brain would be willing to join the Anti-Ehit excursion as it was being called.
The only good news he had was that Kazuma had already finished setting up his points and Kumoko wasn't far behind on her own. He was getting sparse updates on Subaru and Naofumi's party due to the need to sail there first. The only thing he had been told was that they had just made landfall and that Magic 2 hasn't yet woken up.
"Who would be willing to join, Who can I spare." he muttered out as he stared into the crystal ball with tired eyes. He had to be careful of who he chose on this mission, his personal choice would be to send Diavalo, but the devil remains firmly close to himself. Rimuru banged his head on his desk as the answer to his question continued to evade him.
Wiz hummed to herself as she thought of what to do next. With her 'dungeon' (She hates having to refer to it as such) now in his possession she was free to just enjoy some free time at the Shop while watching over (spoiling rotten) Sophia and Yuika.
Then her crystal ball went off.
"Hello?" She asked cautiously. "Hello, Wiz right? This is Rimuru, we need all hands on deck for next several days. We require your services to aid a group of possibly traumatized teenagers. Your experiences with Kazuma and the kids should help you with this. Since I can't get Kazuma due to complications I need your help with this." Rimuru blurted out quickly. Wiz just stared at the ball, slowly taking in what he was saying.
"If you're worried about Sophia and Yuika then I can have a small group led by Shuna babysit them in your absense." Rimuru added in. 'Oh, I promised Subaru I'd keep my eye on them. But still...' Wiz's mind trailed off as she looked between them and the crystal ball. She huffed for a second before putting on a pouting face. "I may not have a choice." She muttered before rising to her feet. She grabbed the kid's bags before picking up the two of them. "I'm sorry, Granny has to drop you off at a friend's place." She said while looking at the two of them.
She walked to the back of the storeroom before she connected to the teleportation circle. A brief flash of light engulfed them as they arrived at Tempest.
Eris sighed, the latest issue on their already ridiculous pile of issues risked bringing her to the end of her sanity. Ehit, a being considered taboo by the divine, has gained a mortal body and a boost in power. Add in the presence that they were feeling from the Waves made her stomach churn in a violent manner.
She returned to the meeting table with the rest of the worlds' divine and plopped the pile of paperwork close to the center of the table. She ignored the groans of D and the sighs of the others. She took a deep breath and prepared her secret weapon to finally restore order.
A Gavel.
She gave no pause as she took her seat and waited. D was about to start talking when she seung the gavel down with a resounding bang. Everyone turned to her, some giving her annoyed glances while others looked at her with curiosity. "It has come to my attention that a figure of taboo has awoken to power and is close to wrecking havoc upon the world. You have heard of him, how we have tried to hide his existance, but today Ehit the False God has gained a mortal body." She spoke clearly.
The moment the name was uttered the others broke out into murmurs and arguring. "What, that faker, what can he even do?" D asked in a bored manner. "With the presence of the Waves, I'm terrified to imagine." Eris replied sternly. "So you're serious about this?" D asked with a raised brow. "Yes, Now I may not be as high a rank as the rest of you, but I'm putting my foot down. You have all wasted time and now the world destroying threats have grown from one to two. I have tried getting the mortal on the right path but just Guilli and I are not enough. So shut it with the system implementation and shove it for when we don't have to worry about the worlds being destroyed as we uselessly argue." Eris spoke as she leveled a glare.
D stared her down, Eris stared back. She tried her best to hide her fear at the being who far eclipsed her power, yet D just sighed. "I'm taking a nap, Guilli can have my duties while I do so, wake me when you've dealt with those petty mortal issues. Eris could hardly surpress her shock as D just teleported away as her assistant tried to follow her.
It had worked, it actually worked.
She turned to the others. "Now, lets get this meeting started and begin suggesting what aid we can bring in the fight against the Waves and Ehit." She said. She never felt so alive, even in the face of her own possible erradication.
If only Aqua could see her now.
Naofumi huffed as they passed through the gates of the capital. Humans and Demihumans walked the streets as Dragon pulled wagons raced along. He had to surpress a sigh as people stopped to gawk at Filo as she pulled his cart.
"Raphtalia?" he asked. "Yes sir?" She replied. "I want you to wake up the Spider. The sooner we get the points up the sooner we get the hell out of this place." he said as Subaru had Patrasche move closer to their wagon. "I don't want to panic you guys, but I need you to be careful around here. Who knows what kind of nobel may try to buy or kidnap Filo." he said calmly.
"Fine, which place are we stopping at first?" Naofumi asked Subaru. "Otto and Rem have to reconvene with Emilia, we plan on setting up a protected meeting in a few days." Rem interjected from behind Subaru. "We're headed for Reinhard, it'll he easiest to get him on our side. Especially since he knows when people lie to him." Subaru answered. Naofumi just nodded as Subaru had Patrasche speed up to Otto's cart.
Otto guided his cart to a nearby quiet street and stopped. Naofumi followed suite as Rem got off of Patrasche and hugged Subaru before joining Otto. "Two days, that's the plan." Subaru said as the two of them nodded. "Indeed Sir." Otto before he cracked the reins and Frufoo sped off. He turned back to them; "Now we go to Reinhard's." he said.
