Jughead's POV
Counting was the only thing keeping him in the moment. The only thing that allowed him to converse, really argue, with Archie. As soon as Kurtz calls the match Jughead stops counting and almost instantly his vision is black. He is gone again not aware of anything around him. Pure agony brings him back and when it does he is on his back in the middle of the ring. Despite the pain Jughead smiles relief flooding his damaged system. His friend listened to him for once. Finished the fight in one blow. Everyone in the room knows he is not standing back up on his own.
"Well done Paladin although I am disappointed in the shortness of the fight. Oh well. I suppose it is the Enchantress' turn."
Jughead starts counting again as he turns his head to watch Veronica pick up the dice and roll. She rolls a total of five. She reaches down hesitantly and picks up a quest card. Jughead watches as she goes pale for a moment before reading aloud.
"Bring the party to the snake charmer."
The words register in Jughead's brain before she even finishes the last word. The pain vanishes and Jughead sits up and looks directly at Archie.
"Run! Archie take them and run!" He yells in a raspy voice.
"Don't argue just go!" Jughead watches his best friend gracefully jump the side of the ring and make his way to the girls. He starts herding them towards the front door. Just as they get there the doors fly open. Penny Peabody walks through with a smug look followed by several men Jughead recognizes.
"Seriously Jughead did you think it would be that easy to get out of this?" Penny says smugly as she comes to a stop in front of Archie. Jughead tries to move towards them but his limbs don't listen. All he manages is to twitch his pointer finger on his left hand.
"They don't have anything to do with this Penny, leave them out of this." He manages to say through the pain that has come back in force.
"Hmm I don't I will. After all they are involved with you which makes them involved with me." Penny states with an evil grin.
