This story is about a unicorn named Mario Star, who's a jack-of-all-trades and a martial artist and a former human/current unicorn named Elijah/Comet Stardust. Now, Mario will know all about friendship and possibly win Twilight's heart while Comet will have a new family and know the meaning of life.

37. Party of One

This is the 37th chapter. I don't own the series of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic.

ctran03931: Um, thanks I guess. I just don't know what to say about your review because not many would go and give a long comment which is you're the first. Though, you forget about Rose Lotus, because I added that OC character too. But to let you know it's more likely the name of the characters I added like: Kai, Nya, Zane, etc. are based on Ninjago: Master of Spinjitzu while mixing up the fighting scene in a soundtrack of the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers back in the 90s. Though to let you know, I'm just making something up while researched as I go along, once you put your mind into it.

Party of One

It was another lovely day in town of Ponyville as Twilight and Comet were doing their quiet routine study session. They were suddenly taken by surprise whey they heard a knock on the door. They looked around a bit before they saw who it was.

"Oh, hi Pinkie Pie..." Twilight said before she and Comet just watched her with stunned faces.

Pinkie Pie sang and danced, wearing a yellow and blue party hat and red nose as Gummy stood next to her with a blue and orange splatter pattern party hat on his head.

Pinkie Pie (Sings):

This is your singing telegram

I hope it find you well

You're invited to a party

'Cause we think you're really swell

Pinkie Pie continued her singing at Rarity's house, now wearing a top hat and black tail coat while Gummy was wearing a tuxedo and top. Rarity just looked stunned as well.

Pinkie Pie (Sings):

Gummy's turning one year old

So help us celebrate

The cake will be delicious

The festivities first-rate

Pinkie Pie continued for Applejack, Apple Shine, and Mario, now wearing a confetti cannon on her head as well as a pair of dual cannons on her body. Gummy then caught one of the flowing streamers in his mouth. Applejack, Apple Shine, Mario just watched with a stunned expression on their faces.

Pinkie Pie (Sings):

There will be games and dancing

Bob for apples, cut a rug

Pinkie Pie shoots off her confetti cannons.

And when the party's over

We'll gather 'round for a group hug

Pinkie Pie is now at Rainbow Dash and Storm Hawk's home, using a hot air balloon to sing to them, but her singing and energy has started to slow down while began to sweat a little. Gummy was trapped of smaller balloons above her. Rainbow Dash and Storm Hawk watched Pinkie Pie in the same manner as the others.

Pinkie Pie (Sings):

No need to bring a gift

Being there will be enough

Birthday means having fun with friends

Not getting lots of stuff

Pinkie Pie reached Fluttershy and Winter Breeze's cottage, but her singing had slowed down even more. She's now sweating more heavily and her dancing had very little energy. It didn't help she was wearing a birthday cake outfit with Gummy standing on top of her. Fluttershy and Winter Breeze were more concerned with how exhausted Pinkie Pie looked than looking surprised by her singing telegram.

Pinkie Pie (Sings):

It won't be the same without you

So we hope that you say yes

So, please, oh please R.S.V.P.

And come, and be our guest!

Pinkie Pie then plopped to the ground in front of Fluttershy and Winter Breeze's front door. It was several minutes later when Pinkie Pie had the strength to make it back to Sugarcube Corner. She had her own party room/living space upstairs and it had already been set up and decorated for the party. Pinkie Pie just slowly made her way to the top of the stairs.

"Next time, I think I'll just pass out written invitations." Pinkie Pie said in a raspy voice before passing out at the top of the stairs.

Gummy just stood there blankly, as usual. Rose Lotus went upstairs with the glass of water, extends it to her mother.

"Thanks, Rosey." Pinkie Pie thanked her daughter, drinking the water.

It wasn't much longer before everypony was at Sugarcube Corner for Gummy's birthday party. Pinkie Pie, Rose Lotus, Twilight, Comet, and Mario were dancing to some music. Applejack, Apple Shine, Rainbow Dash, and Storm Hawk were chatting just behind the large bucket where they could play 'Bob for Apples'. Flutteryshy, Winter Breeze, and Rarity were chatting near the table where a giant birthday cake and bowl of punch were located.

It was then Applejack then went to bob for apple, grabbed one with ease and gobbled it up. Apple Shine is next, bob for apple and grabbed one, gobbled it up. Storm Hawk is also next by bob for apple, grabbed one and gobbled it up.

"That's my boy!" Rainbow Dash said with a chuckle, ruffled his mane. "Now, let me show you how it's done!"

Rainbow Dash went to open her mouth and dived in when Pinkie Pie arrived.

"Hey, girls, and Storm Hawk!" Pinkie Pie said cheerfully.

"Hey Pinkie Pie!" Rainbow Dash and Storm Hawk replied.

"Howdy!" Applejack and Apple Shine replied right after Pinkie Pie gave a happy squeal.

"Just wanted to tell you how happy I am that you could make it to Gummy's party." Pinkie Pie said.

"Are you kiddin'?" Applejack said. "Apple Shine and I wouldn't miss it for the world!"

"Same here." Storm Hawk said with an agreement.

"Eeyup." Apple Shine replied.

"Me neither." Rainbow Dash said. "When Pinkie Pie throws a party, Storm Hawk and I are there!"

Rainbow Dash then took her turn to bob an apple. Like Applejack, Apple Shine, and Storm Hawk, she grabbed it out without any trouble.

"Ta da!" Rainbow Dash exclaimed.

"Aw! It's just a boring old apple." Pinkie Pie said. "Don't worry, there are plenty of other surprises in there."

That got Rainbow Dash spat out her apple at Applejack.

"What kind of surprises?" Rainbow Dash asked excitedly as Applejack, Apple Shine, and Storm Hawk smiled in the same manner.

"I can't tell you that, silly." Pinkie Pie said. "Then it wouldn't be a surprise."

Pinkie Pie then walked away as Rainbow Dash, Storm Hawk, Apple Shine, and Applejack then ducked their heads into the water at the same time. Applejack had grabbed a green that's attached to the bottom of the bucket with a spring. She tried to pull it out, but the spring pulled her back into the water. Apple Shine grabbed an apple, but it exploded right in her mouth, causing her to cough off the green powder out of her mouth and her tongue is covered in green powder. Storm Hawk grabbed an apple, but it exploded right in his mouth, causing him to cough off the blue powder out of his mouth and his tongue is covered in blue powder. Rainbow Dash pulled her head out, only to have Gummy trying to bite her entire head. Applejack just laughed as Rainbow Dash twitched her head so Gummy went flying off, couldn't help but look a little embarrassed. However, both Apple Shine and Storm Hawk felt embarrassed for having their tongues covered in colored-powder which it got Rainbow Dash and Applejack laughed a little, feeling bad for their children.

Meanwhile, Rarity was just enjoying some of the punch and was sipping it contently through a straw. Rarity had just emptied her cup when Pinkie Pie refilled it for her. But Mario, Rose Lotus, and Comet felt suspicious before they went to the snack table.

"This punch is simply divine." Rarity said with Pinkie Pie arrived. "Is this the same recipe you used for your 'Spring has Sprung' party?"

"Nope! Something new." Pinkie Pie said.

Rarity looked at the punch bowl as Twilight, Mario, Comet, and Rose Lotus were walking in the background. There they saw Gummy swimming in the punch bowl which it got Rarity stunned for a moment before spitting out the punch in her mouth and into Pinkie Pie's face.

"It's Gummy's favorite." Pinkie Pie said happily, unphased at getting the punch spat into her face.

Mario, Twilight, Comet, and Rose Lotus made nervous face as Pinkie Pie smiled. Rarity, with much reluctance, gulped and continued drinking the punch in her cup. Mario just groaned as he, Twilight, Comet, and Rose Lotus just watch the scene unfold in the background. It was then the music began to play.

"Ooh, this is my jam!" Pinkie Pie said as she took off.

Once Pinkie Pie was looking away, Rarity spat out the punch in her mouth into a nearby potted plant. By now, Twilight, Mario, Comet, Fluttershy, Winter Breeze, and Rose Lotus were dancing together and enjoying themselves. Rose Lotus was dancing with her tambourine and Djali joins his owner, dancing. Apple Shine was playing her fiddle while Mario plays his guitar.

"Wow, Mario. I didn't you were good at the guitar." Fluttershy said with an amazed look.

"Well, when you learn a thing or two at Sweet Apple Acres, you'll be able to get the hang of it." Mario said with a smile.

It was then Pinkie Pie got in between Twilight and Fluttershy.

"Having fun?" Pinkie Pie asks.

"A blast!" Twilight said.

"Totally!" Mario added.

"You always throw the best parties, Pinkie Pie." Fluttershy said as the three ponies kept on dancing.

"They're always the best parties 'cause my best friends, my godson, and my daughter are always there!" Pinkie Pie said, joined the dance.

It got Twilight and Fluttershy yelped when Pinkie smacked her flank between the two mares, sending them away from her when Mario, Comet, and Rose Lotus dodged them. All two ponies were sent crashing on opposite sides of the room and into the walls, leaving indents on them.

"Watch it, will you?!" Comet shouts with a glare.

"Hehe...sorry." Pinkie Pie apologizes nervously.

Winter Breeze just fly over to her mother, feeling worried when Fluttershy turned to her daughter and gave her an assured smile on her face. Twilight just smiled a bit, woozily as she tumbled out of her indention.

"That...didn't hurt as much as I thought." Twilight said, still a bit woozy.

Twilight stumbled a bit before she was caught by Mario, which made her widen her eyes as they both stare at each other. They both smiled as they blushed a bit before they let go of each other. Both Comet and Storm Hawk couldn't help but snicker a bit which it got Twilight's attention.

"And what are you two laughing at?" Twilight asks, raised her eyebrow.

"We couldn't help it, you two would make a weirdest couple." Comet said which it got him and Storm Hawk laughed while Twilight and Mario blushed.

"Oh, really? That's funny because we just saw you hanging around with a certain pony named 'Silver Spoon'." Twilight told her son with a teased smirk, causing Comet to blush. "So don't think I didn't know what you're up to, young colt."

Then steam started to come out of his ears when Comet's face is red as a tomato. Twilight and Mario laughed at his reaction while given him a taste of his own medicine.

"She got you there, Comet." Storm Hawk said with a laugh.

"C'mon, everypony!" Pinkie Pie said shortly afterward. "Gummy wants to dance. Go Gummy! It's your birthday! Go Gummy! It's your birthday!"

Gummy just stood there blankly as everypony began to dance around him.

It was very late when the party finally came to an end, Pinkie Pie and Rose Lotus just watched everypony make their leave from outside her upstairs window.

"Hoo-wee!" Applejack said. "Ah am beat! I haven't danced that much since...Well, since yer last party."

"Thanks again for the invite!" Apple Shine thanked her.

"See ya later, birthday alligator!" Rainbow Dash and Storm Hawk added as they walked with Fluttershy, Rarity, and Winter Breeze.

"Bravo for hosting yet another delightful soiree." Rarity said.

"It's been lovely." Fluttershy said.

Right behind the five ponies were Mario, Twilight, and Comet.

"You sure you don't wanna stay?" Pinkie Pie called as Mario, Twilight, and Comet looked back. "There's still come cake left."

"Sorry Pinkie, I already had enough cake for tonight." Comet told her.

"Yeah, I think I'm gonna pass." Twilight adds.

"But I still had a lot of fun." Mario said.

"Great party though, we should do this again soon." Twilight said.

Pinkie Pie just watched her friends and godson head for their homes when she gasped and got an idea.

"We should do this again soon!" Pinkie Pie said excitedly.

Meanwhile, Rose Lotus finished making the music box, after cleaning up the room and washing the dishes. She decided to try out the music box as she plays it, and it started to play the music.

"I hope Mom love this gift, her birthday is tomorrow." Rose Lotus said as she closes the music box and wrap it up into a present.

The sun began to slowly rise into the sky as Twilight was woken up by the sound of someone knocking her door. Twilight just slowly made her way towards the door with a few of her mane and tail hairs were sticking out. She opened the door to see Pinkie Pie at her door wearing a basket on her head with some letters inside of it.

"Oh! Hi, Pinki-"

"It's soon!" Pinkie Pie said as she got into Twilight's face.

"Pardon me?" Twilight asked, puzzled.

"You said we should have another party soon, and...it's soon." Pinkie Pie said as she bounced up and down excitedly. "Here's your invitation!"

Twilight picked up one of the letters with her magic as she reads it.

'You're invited to Gummy's 'after-birthday' party. This afternoon at 3:00.'

"All our bestest friends are invited." Pinkie Pie said, still bouncing on her hooves. "And there's gonna be dancing, and games, and cake, and ice cream, and punch!"

Twilight smiled...until she realizes something.

"This afternoon?" Twilight asked. "As in, 'this afternoon' this afternoon?"

"Yes, indeedy!" Pinkie Pie said.

"Oh, gosh." Twilight said sheepishly. "I wish I could make it, but I've gotten a bit behind on my studies."

Twilight used her magic to quickly summon a huge pile of books. By the time Pinkie Pie was able to peek inside, the large stack of books was as big as a mountain.

"I understand, your study comes first." Pinkie Pie said. "But don't worry, we'll be sure to save you some cake."

"Please do." Twilight said as Pinkie Pie gave her a wink and then took her leave, but she reappeared, walking in the opposite direction from a short distance away.

"Oh! And Twilight, you shouldn't hit the books." Pinkie Pie suggested. "You should really just read them."

"I'll keep that in mind." Twilight replied as Pinkie Pie bounced away.

Mario and Zane were sparring each other at the martial arts dojo to get ready for the tournament at Canterlot since it's being held there along with the Grand Galloping Gala event. They're hoping that their friends would do the same since Master Wu is training his students, while keeping Jay working on his Lightning element and less focusing on the games. They were interrupted when Pinkie Pie jumped inside of the dojo.

"Oh! Pinkie, why are you here?" Mario asks.

"I'm here to give you an invite to another party." Pinkie Pie answered as Mario quietly took out an invitation with his magic and read it quietly. "It's for this afternoon."

"This afternoon?" Mario asked. "As in 'this afternoon', this afternoon?"

"Correct a mundo." Pinkie Pie answered, bouncing on her hooves.

"I'm sorry, Pinkie, but Zane and I gotta prepare for the fighting tournament in Canterlot since it's being held there along with the Grand Galloping Gala." Mario explains, declines.

Pinkie Pie then sighed in defeat before she smiled.

"It's okay." Pinkie Pie said. "A party is still a party, even if there are only eight guests."

Pinkie Pie then headed towards Sweet Apple Acres.

Applejack had hooked up several of her smaller wagons together to make a three carts loaded with tall piles of fresh apples. She was taken by surprise when Pinkie Pie jumped out of a trio of haystack laying near the barn.

"Huh? Oh, hi, Pinkie Pie!" Applejack said. "What brings you 'round these parts?"

"Who's ready to shake their hoof-thang?!" Pinkie Pie said excitedly, getting into Applejack's face and shook her flank. "It's an invitation to Gummy's 'after-birthday' party this afternoon. There's gonna be dancing, and games, and cake, and ice-cream, and punch!"

Pinkie Pie bounced excitedly as she told Applejack about the party, but Applejack realized something.

"This afternoon?" Applejack asked wearily. "A-as in, 'this afternoon' this afternoon?"

"That's funny." Pinkie Pie said, putting a fore-hoof to her chin for a moment. "That's just what Twilight and Mario said, and the answer is, 'Yes! It's this afternoon!'"

"Uh, well, I...I..uh...I don't think I can make it 'cause...uh..." Applejack stuttered.

Being the Element of Honesty may coming up with a good excuse to not go to Pinkie Pie's party very difficult. She had to look at her carts loaded with apples for a few seconds to think of an answer. Pinkie Pie just looked at the apples from behind her.

"I have to...uh...uh..." Applejack continued to stutter before she finally came up with something to say. "You know what? I...uh...pick apples! Yep, apples! 'Cause that's what we do! With the...apples. We, uh...pick'em!"

There was a long pause as Applejack gave Pinkie Pie a toothy smile. Pinkie Pie slowly begins to stare at her as Applejack, who tried to hold a smile, but she grew nervous when Pinkie Pie narrowed her eyes at her, causing Applejck to gulp. Just as she can see her own reflection in the center of Pinkie's eyes, she stood down and smiled.

"Okie-dokie-lokie!" Pinkie Pie replied in her cheerful manner. "A party is still a party, even if there are only seven guests!"

Pinkie Pie then left, but once when she was at a safe distance away, Applejack release a sigh of relief.

Back at the Carousel Boutique, Spike was assisting Rarity by taking out a load of garbage can out of the building and near the front of her property for pick up. Spike grunted since the garbage can was bigger and heavier than him as he then sets it down.

"Anything else I can do for you, most beautiful one?" Spike asked, knelt beside her and gone goo-goo eyes like a lovestruck dragon.

Rarity took a good whiff of the odor coming from Spike due to the fact he'd been working so hard and being around the garbage. Rarity whimpered as she leaned away from him in disgust.

"Hmm...perhaps you could take a bath." Rarity said as she pondered. "How can I put this delicately?"

Rarity realized she couldn't and just went with being honest.

"You smell like a rotten apple core that's been wrapped in moldy hay and dripping in dragon perspiration." Rarity said upfront.

Spike just sighed in a lovesick trance and began to float into the air as hearts floated around him. Though anypony else who heard that can tell that it wasn't a compliment, but Spike didn't seem to care. Rarity just gives him a concerned but annoyed look as she lightly pushed Spike away so he literally floated back to the Golden Oak Library. Rarity watched him float away as Pinkie Pie appeared beside her.

"Ooh! I love the new hat." Rarity said as she looked at the basket on her head. "Very modern, what's the occasion?"

"Gummy's 'after-birthday' party this afternoon." Pinkie Pie explained. "I'm delivering the invitations!"

"This party is this afternoon?" Rarity asked shockingly. "As in, 'this afternoon' this afternoon?"

"It's so stranger." Pinkie Pie said, pondered. "Everypony keeps saying that."

"Oh...do that?" Rarity asked innocently.

"I know it's short notice, but we had such a great time at his birthday party." Pinkie Pie told her. "I thought we could have even more fun at his after birthday-party."

"And I'm sure that we would, but I'm going to decline." Rarity said as she played with one of the curls in her mane. "I have to...wash my hair."

"Don't be silly, your hair doesn't look dirty." Pinkie Pie points out.

"It doesn't?" Rarity asked as he mane sparkled a bit."

"Nope!" Pinkie Pie answered.

Then Rarity something that she's going to regret by sticking her head into the garbage, getting her mane covered in grime and trash.

"See?" Rarity said, then made a face that showed she was gonne be sick, but was able to quickly recompose herself. "Dirty! I have to go!"

Rarity then made a mad dash into her Carousel Boutique and slammed the door, leaving Pinkie Pie surprised.

"Huh...No Twilight, no Mario, no Applejack, no Rarity." Pinkie Pie said with a ponder, before going back to her cheery mood. "Oh well, a party is still a party even with only six guests."

At the schoolhouse, Comet, Apple Shine, Storm Hawk, Winter Breeze, and Rose Lotus were about to leave the school when Pinkie Pie arrived.

"Hey Pinkie Pie, what's up?" Comet asked.

Rose Lotus then noticed that the present she made for her mother is inside of the Sugarcube Corner, which she need to give it to her.

"Gummy's 'after-birthday' party this afternoon." Pinkie Pie explained. "I'm delivering the invitations!"

"Um, mom, can we go home? I think I left something I forget." Rose Lotus called her which it got her mothers attention.

"Okay, let's go home." Pinkie Pie said with a smile as she and her daughter walked home.

Comet, Apple Shine, Storm Hawk, and Winter Breeze are right now in the clear, heading towards Sweet Apple Acres to meet up with the others.

Soon as Pinkie Pie and Rose Lotus made their way at Sugarcube Corner, the gypsy filly went upstairs while Pinkie Pie is waiting for her to get a present. Rose Lotus grabbed a present as she heads downstairs which it got Pinkie Pie noticed.

"A present, for Gummy, you shouldn't have, Rosey!" Pinkie Pie said. "You know you should-"

"Actually, mom, this is for you." Rose Lotus told her, leaving her mother confused. "I've made this myself, and I thought I could give it to you because...your birthday is today."

"Huh?!" Pinkie Pie exclaims.

"I just want to give this to you today when the time is right. Happy Birthday, Mom." Rose Lotus said with a smile, extends a present.

Pinkie Pie then unwraps a present and it happen to be a music box.

"A music box...Rosey, when did you get a chance to make it?" Pinkie Pie asks surprisingly.

"Few days ago, it took a while to put it together. And...it's a lot of wood and parts to go through." Rose Lotus explains.

Pinkie Pie can tell that Rose Lotus worked very hard on making that music box. She then starts playing the music box.

Soon as the music box begins play the song, it got Pinkie Pie shocked when it's playing the beautiful song. Pinkie Pie's eyes are starting to fill up in tears with a smile on her face, liking the music box. Rose Lotus can tell that her mother likes her birthday present and she's glad.

As the song ends, Pinkie Pie gave Rose Lotus a heartwarming hug with a teary smile on her face. Rose Lotus hugged her mother in return.

"That's...the most...wonderful gift I had, Rosey." Pinkie Pie said, cried in tears. "Thank you..."

Rose Lotus can only respond in silent, only hugging her mother with a smile on her face.

After a few minutes, both Pinkie Pie and Rose Lotus spend a lot of time together as mother and daughter along with Gummy and Djali. They're strolling around town which it got the Mane 6 and the four foals noticed when they saw Pinkie Pie, Rose Lotus, Gummy, and Djali were walking together. Rose Lotus then turns to her mother and starts to sing.

Pinkie Pie then starts to sing with a motherly smile on her face.

The Mane 5 and the 4 foals were amazed of the two singing, and they watched while listening.

And Pinkie Pie and Rose Lotus ends the song by hugging each other. The Mane 6 and the 4 foals felt touched of that song with a heartwarming smiles on their faces as they approaches the two, earned their attention.

"Pinkie, would you come up to Sweet Apple Acres with us?" Twilight asks with a smile. "We have a surprise for you."

Soon as they made their way at Sweet Apple Acres, they went inside of the barn when Pinkie Pie noticed the decorations which it got her surprised.

"You...you guys did all this?" Pinkie Pie asked.

"We did, we wanted your party a surprise, sugarcube." Applejack answered. "We had a reason to keep it a secret."

"We've been planning this party for such a long time." Rarity adds, walked besides Pinkie Pie. "We had to make excuses for why we couldn't attend Gummy's party so that we could get everything ready for yours."

"But it seems like you and Rose Lotus are spending some time together around Ponyville." Comet said. "We just don't want to interrupt."

"Rosey gave me that present she made, because it's my birthday." Pinkie Pie explains. "I had forgotten about mine, but she reminds me because of the music box. And you like me so much, you decided to throw me a surprise party."

"That's the reason why we want it to make a surprise party, Pinkie Pie." Storm Hawk told her.

"You girls, and guys are the best friends ever!" Pinkie Pie said in a teary smile. "Thank you."

The Mane 6 and the 5 foals gave Pinkie Pie a nod with a smile.

"And Rose...Thank you for that gift." Pinkie Pie thanked her daughter. "You really worked so hard on that music box, you want it to make a surprise for me. Thank you and I love you."

Rose Lotus then walk towards Pinkie Pie, hugging her mother with a smile on her face.

"I love you too, mom." Rose Lotus said.

The Mane 6 and 4 foals are watching at a heartwarming sight since both Pinkie Pie and Rose Lotus were very close as a mother and daughter.
