Hi everyone, I realized I made a couple mistakes in the last chapter and didn't realize until after I posted. I wrote Grandma Scott instead of Grandpa, and Cam said that Lucky Zoom chats Jake regularly, but it was supposed to be Aiden. I corrected it but I wanted to clarify in case anyone read it before the edits.
Chapter 25- The Threat
Willow rubbed her eyes and looked up at Madeline. "I must be dreaming…. Harmony said you died."
"No, dear," Madeline said. "I never died. Like I told you when you were young, I will always watch over you."
Willow glanced over at her baby sleeping, but struggled to keep her eyes open. "I—missed you."
"I missed you more," Madeline said. "And I will do everything to keep you and your baby safe."
Willow smiled. "My baby…." Her eyes shut.
Madeline stroked Willow's hair. "Don't you worry about your baby, dear. I did always love you. Just not as much as Janelle. But I'm glad that her bone marrow is saving your life."
"Janelle," Willow mumbled. "Bone marrow…."
Madeline leaned over the incubator and lifted the baby. She stirred awake and started crying.
"Shh…. Quiet, Maddie." Madeline rocked her in her arms. "I'm going to take you back to your other mommy."
Out in the hallway, Nina, Josslyn, and the guard heard the baby's cries.
"If you don't mind, I'm going to check on my granddaughter," Nina said.
She started to pass Josslyn who grabbed her arm. "No, I'm going to check on my niece. Not everything is about you, Nina."
Nina rolled her eyes. "I know not everything is about me. This is about the baby and her mother is too weak right now to care for her."
"Which is why I'm going to check on her," Josslyn said.
"You're being ridiculous." Nina yanked her arm away and headed back towards the room.
Josslyn followed after her.
"You need to stop obsessing over our family," Josslyn said.
"I'm not," Nina said. "Not everything is about your family. Right now, I'm focused on my family."
Back inside Willow's room, Madeline started to panic when she heard their voices.
"Then go find Obrecht," Josslyn said. "She's the only family you deserve."
Nina groaned. "Then come with me. Just don't argue in front of Willow." She pushed the door open and hurried over to the incubator. But Josslyn hurried over too and scooped up the baby.
Nina scrunched her face when she felt a draft. The window was wide open. She went over and shut it. "I don't remember this being open."
"It's okay, baby," Josslyn said. "Your Auntie Joss is here and I'll always protect you."

"What did they say?" Liesl asked after she hung up her phone.
"Our lab here says that these are the results they received from the lab in Denver," Britt said. "They're just as confused as we are. They said the mistake must've happened on Denver's end."
"I couldn't get through," Liesl said. "They must be closed for the evening. We must try first thing in the morning."
"But we need to figure this out right away. I'm going to try calling Carly to see if she remembers anyone else going to the lab in Denver to get tested." She brought her phone to her ear. "Hi Carly, this is Britt Westbourne."
Carly tried to get comfortable on the plane. "Is everything okay with Willow and the baby?"
"The baby is fine," Britt said. "We're just not sure about Willow."
"What happened?"
"We were going through your file and found some inconsistencies between your bloodwork in 2006 compared to now."
All the colour drained from Carly's face.
"Your blood type is different, and your markers are different," Britt explained. "Your current markers are so close to Willow's. Too close. Close enough to be a parent or a sibling."
"You must have read it wrong," Carly tried.
"Unless you're related to Willow, then the Denver lab must've gotten your bloodwork mixed up with someone else's. We're concerned because if Willow has your bone marrow, it could cause complications. The lab is closed this evening, so we can't get a hold of them. When you were there did you notice anyone else getting tested?"
"No," Carly said. "There was no one. In fact, they said I was the only one who had bloodwork done this week. So, there must just be a mistake with my bloodwork from 2006."
"But that doesn't explain the closeness of your markers to Willow's. If this is correct, then you have a close relation to Willow. Which means that Michael and Willow have an incestuous relationship…." Britt cringed.
"That's ridiculous. I'm not related to Willow. Michael's not related to Willow. I think you're just reading the bloodwork wrong. My bone marrow is saving Willow. There's nothing to worry about."

Jeff and Carolyn checked into the Metro Court and made their way to their room. Carolyn plopped down at the end of the bed and buried her face in her hands.
Jeff sat beside her and rubbed her back. "Hey, it wasn't all that bad. Jake seemed pleased to see us."
"But Aiden has no clue who we are, and Cameron looked angry that we were there. And I'm scared for Lizzie. What if we lose her before we ever have a chance to make things up to her?"
He wrapped his arm around her. "We're not going to lose her. She's going to wake up and get back to her life with her boys. And maybe we'll get a chance to have a relationship with her once these threats end."

Laura pulled into the driveway and she and the boys hopped out of her SUV.
"Well, hopefully we all have a better night's sleep tonight," Laura said. "Maybe we can watch a movie before we go to bed. I'll make some popcorn. What would you boys like to watch?"
"Maybe a mystery or a thriller," Cam suggested.
Laura sighed as she fiddled with her keys. "We're not watching a thriller right now. Something lighthearted."
"How about a Marvel movie?" Jake said.
"That would be a little better," Laura said. "How about Spiderman? I know that's your favourite, Aiden."
Laura unlocked the door and led them inside. Jake and Aiden followed.
Cam started to go in when he heard some rustling in the bushes. He glanced around and moved over to a bush where he found an envelope.
He ripped it open and found a note with fancy handwriting.
Hello Cameron,
I want to play a game.
Inside is your grandmother and your brothers.
So are hidden cameras you won't be able to find.
If you don't play along and keep quiet, I will begin by taking your youngest brother.
We will start simple to ensure you will obey.
In your grandmother's living room, there is a photo album from the year 2005.
Find the photo of your mother's wedding to Lucky Spencer.
Take that photo to pier 13.
There you will find a trash can.
Drop the photo inside the trash can.
Then return to your grandmother's and await further instructions.
Let the game begin.
