Chapter 26- Sasha's Visit
The next morning, Sasha went up to the hospital to visit Willow. She passed Nina was asleep in the waiting room. It wouldn't surprise Sasha at all if Nina stayed the whole night. She said hello to the guard and made her way into Willow's room to find her and the baby sound asleep too.
She sat at Willow's side and held her hand.
Willow slowly opened her eyes and smiled at Sasha.
"Good morning," Sasha said. "How are you feeling?"
"Better than yesterday, I think," Willow said. "Still kind of tired. But yesterday is all a blur."
"Well, Nina told me about your baby." Sasha smiled and looked over at her. "She's home safe and sound. And she's beautiful."
Willow's eyes grew wide and she tried to sit up, but didn't have any strength. "By baby! I don't even remember her coming back."
Sasha pulled the incubator a little closer to Willow and the baby stirred awake crying.
Willow started to tear up. "I haven't even held her yet. And I don't think I can. I have no strength."
"Aww, Willow, it's okay. You will soon. Maybe I can lift her for you?"
Willow nodded.
Sasha lifted the baby and brought her as close to Willow as she could.
Willow caressed the baby's cheek. "Maybe… can you place her on my chest but support her?"
"Yeah. Good idea."
Sasha kept her hands at the baby's head and on her bottom and held the baby loosely at the top of Willow's chest.
Willow kissed the top of her forehead, and she stopped crying. "Hi baby girl. I'm your mommy. I'm so sorry I can't hold you properly…." She cringed.
"Are you okay, Willow?" Sasha asked.
"Just a moment longer…. I love you so much and I'm glad that you're safe."
Sasha lifted the baby away from Willow and gasped. It left a large purple bruise on Willow's chest.
Sasha swallowed hard and cradled the baby. "You said you don't remember much from yesterday?"
"I think I had a lot of weird dreams," Willow said, getting a little short of breath. "I—I remember the room spinning. And… swimming in vomit. Was Nina here? I remember her voice."
Sasha nodded. "She's still here. She's asleep in the waiting area. I think she stayed the whole night."
Willow stared at her. "Really?"
"And I know she's the one who brought your baby back."
Willow smiled a little. "That's right. We did a video chat."
"Do you remember anything else?"
"Oh… now, this part must've been a dream. My guardian angel came."
Sasha raised an eyebrow. "Your guardian angel?"
"Oh, that's just what I called her when I was a kid. Or… maybe Harmony got me to call her that. Kind of like a godmother, I guess. But she couldn't have been here…. Harmony said she died just after I left Dawn of Day."
"Oh, sorry to hear. Do you remember what she said or did in the dream?"
Willow scrunched her face, trying to remember. "Oh…. Oh."
"What is it?" Sasha asked.
"She… she indicated that Nelle was my bone marrow donor."
"Oh, that's strange," Sasha said. "Maybe it's just your mind's way of processing everything."
"Maybe."

Nelle sat up in bed, trying to figure out how she could get to Walgreens without Morgan knowing.
Morgan reached out to her. "Aww, don't get up, yet. Let's stay like this a little longer."
Nelle glanced down at her shirtless husband. He had convinced her to make love the night before. He said it was their first chance in a long time to be alone together and he said they wouldn't get many more chances once Lin returned with the baby. Nelle was hesitant, because she had started questioning her trust in both he and Lin, but as usual, she had trouble saying no.
"Do we have any money left from what Lin gave us?" Nelle asked. "Maybe I could take a walk this morning and buy a few new things for our home."
He shook his head. "No, I think I should use what little money we have left to go into town and find a job. I don't know what though."
This was good enough for Nelle. She could still get to Walgreens without him knowing.
Nelle smiled. "Do you think Lin and baby Maddie are okay?"
He sighed. "I hope so. I just wonder what the cops were doing here."
"I've been wondering that too. And who are the baby's real parents? Lin said the mother was terminally ill. Is that your mother's friend? The one I donated bone marrow too?"
Morgan shook his head. "Get that out of your mind. We don't need to speak of my mother anymore." He sat up and ran his fingers through her hair. "Let's just focus on us." He kissed her.
GHGHGH
"This is Dr. Liesl Obrecht from the Port Charles General Hospital. I need to speak with you about a recent bone marrow match between Carly Spencer and Willow Tait. Carly Spencer had blood taken at your facility. Is there any way you could've mixed up her blood work?"
GHGHGH
"Sonny!" Carly rushed over to him at the waiting area at Denver Hospital. Olivia and Sam followed up behind her. "How's Michael?"
"Michael is fine," Sonny said. He's recovering quite nicely and should be able to go home today."
"What about Dante?" Olivia asked.
"How did his surgery go?" Sam asked.
"He made it through the surgery," Sonny said. "I just saw him this morning. He's going to have a longer recovery and they estimate he'll have to stay here for up to a week. But he's going to be fine."
GHGHGH
Nina jolted awake to find Sasha touching her shoulder.
"I'm sorry!" Sasha said. "I didn't mean to scare you. It's just it's almost 10:30 and I wanted to see you before I leave."
Nina rubbed her eyes. "10:30? Well, I guess I didn't fall asleep until like 5am."
Sasha sat beside her. "You've been here the whole night."
"Yeah. Sonny told me to get home to get a good night's sleep, but I didn't want to leave her. I couldn't leave her." Nina stared ahead at the guard. "Not knowing my mother is out there and could take my granddaughter again at any minute. And I don't know that she wouldn't try to hurt Willow. I mean she tried to kill her and Nelle when I was pregnant with them."
Sasha frowned. "I know more than anyone how much you love your daughters."
Nina smiled and reached for her hand. "I do. They are everything to me. But I still love you too, just in a different way."
"I know."
"So, you got in to see Willow?" Nina asked. "How is she this morning?"
"She said better than yesterday. But she's still very, very weak. She wanted me to place the baby on her chest. But even with me supporting the baby it left a very large bruise."
Nina placed a hand on her forehead. "She doesn't even have enough strength to hold her own baby right now. That must be destroying her."
"I know. And she said she was having strange dreams."
Nina raised an eyebrow. "What kind of dreams?"
"Oh, some guardian angel came to see her. Apparently, she was kind of like a godmother to her when she was a kid."
Nina tensed up. "Guardian angel?"
"And she seemed to think the guardian angel was telling her that Nelle was her bone marrow donor."
Nina gaped at her.
