Lily's P.O.V.
Sunstreaker is not pleased that I want to go to the Halloween party. I didn't even say we should wear costumes.
"Fine, I'll go with Sideswipe."
"He's not going. Fragging pig will eat all the candy."
"Hey! I will not!" Sideswipe argues.
Sunstreaker wastes no time lecturing me how Jamie might not be at the party, and even if she is, I'm to leave her alone. I'll see how the terror triplets like the party and spend the time with Annabelle if she'll be there.
"Crosshairs!" I call, seeing the mech's holoform walk down the hall toward the cafeteria.
"Please don't tell me you've been waiting for me to come around?"
"No, Sunstreaker will make sure I can't do that."
"Because it's not helping. With Jamie's current mental state, she's not processing this as being worried about her, or the clues she gives while thinking she's hiding how she's feeling."
I can tell how worried he is. I hope things haven't gotten worse. Hard to tell if Jamie was up all night since Autobots don't need to sleep for five days, regardless if they're using their holoform or not. That's still not good to turn into a habit. Even Sunstreaker yells at Sideswipe if he's awake for over twenty-four hours.
Sunstreaker waits until Jamie has eaten before asking if she wants to continue doing art. Crosshairs and Drift will be with us, but not only because they want to. It's the only way they got Jamie to be with Sunstreaker and me.
"Damn it," I hear Sunstreaker even though he's muttering to himself.
I know he's frustrated seeing how much Jamie is struggling. She wanted to do art yesterday, but not today. I know Crosshairs and Drift worry about Jamie feeling forced, but know they can't let her avoid everyone. Even Sideswipe can't believe how Jamie isn't interested in candy. She's not like Sideswipe — who has a stash — but she likes candy like most humans.
We do art for an hour before Jamie is done. Sunstreaker decides we should work on a painting for a while. Realizing we should have started a Halloween painting at least last weekend. I want to do a painting for Jamie and her guardians. Maybe I can convince Sunstreaker to do one and give it to them for Christmas.
Sunstreaker and I get the lines of the painting done in time to get ready for the Halloween party. Sunstreaker wants me to dress as a princess, but not a Disney princess. I still can't believe Sunstreaker took me to pick out a nice dress. I picked a red dress thinking of the Christmas party we'll likely have. I'm hoping this dress will fit me when I'm in high school. I don't have to worry about getting dresses for those dances.
Sunstreaker doesn't want to dress up and say he's my prince. Instead, he's choosing to dress up like a serial killer, but not one of the popular movie serial killers. I worry the others will not take this as his choice of costume well, considering how he kills, but he will not listen to me.
"Wish we could end the night with a little fun," Sunstreaker smiles and kisses me.
It's not like anyone would know if we broke rules, as we'd be careful, but I still don't want to.
Figured the toddlers would be Disney princesses. Jasmine joins in being Jasmine from Aladdin. No one thought Hound would be interested in being the genie from the movie. As always, Ratchet refuses to dress up. Jasmine still tries to convince him right until the last minute.
"No, I'm a medic, I can't wear costumes."
On cue, Jolt walks on dressed as a cowboy.
"Come on, Ratchet, you can still wear a costume," Jolt argues.
"No."
Prowl is the only other one that didn't bother wearing a costume. I hope Jamie and her guardians will come to the party. For now, Annabelle and I show the three little girls what fun they can have. We're seeing how well Bumblebee and Sideswipe planned all this.
Drift's P.O.V.
Crosshairs and I decided we were taking Jamie to the party. Even if we don't stay long. She won't argue with us. Which Crosshairs and I go back and forth thinking it's good but also not good.
"Come on, we're going somewhere fun," I tell Jamie as I pick her up.
Jamie hugs me tight, wraps her legs around me, and rests her head on my shoulder.
Most in the hangar watch us enter. I catch a few Autobots and soldiers smiling. Crosshairs gets food while I find Lily, who runs up to me even while wearing a long dress. The terror twins aren't far behind.
"I've been waiting to get the candy," Sideswipe tells Jamie.
"I don't think he would have lasted much longer," Sunstreaker adds.
"That's not funny," Sideswipe comments, seeing Jamie smile
We head over to the tables.
The three go get food, walking by Crosshairs as I position Jamie on a chair. Crosshairs puts the plates on the table. We all have the same; chicken strips and french fries.
The terror twins and Lily sit with us with their food.
We finish dinner as the buffet table is changed to desserts. The three toddlers, Jasmine, Ratchet, Annabelle, and Sarah come with us to the table.
"Ewe!" Annabelle exclaims in disgust.
"Cool," Lily smiles, "it's just a cake."
We see a zombie cake with green meant to be ooze coming out of its stomach. Even the three little girls find it interesting, trying to get their fingers into the green ooze. Getting scolded by Ratchet as he walks over. The three girls sulk, but he's not forbidding them from having cake. There are also Halloween cookies and a selection of candy. Sunstreaker is already yelling at Sideswipe not to take all the candy.
Crosshairs and I thought we'd be leaving the party early, but we stayed right til the end at eight. Lily and Sideswipe waste no time asking Jamie to play video games, but Jamie wants to. It's hard to think today was a good day, knowing tomorrow could be completely different.
