Chapter 53: The Truth and a Rescue Mission

"We need to know more about these Hypodemons," said Eda. "So we can be able to rescue Luz."

"Alright," Amity replied. "The book says that Hypodemons are demons that use a flame above their head to hypnotize another. They did this to Luz and we must save her."

"Agree," Eda said. "But how were we not affected?"

"It says here that they can channel who they want to hypnotize," answered Amity. "What they said about burning thoughts is correct as they are completely erased and replaced with new ones. When Luz shrank, it was like a reset." The gang was more concerned now and had to do something before it was too late.

"I knew something was fishy," said Gus.

"I think we all knew," Willow replied. "And now we can save Luz." They got ready to go but they were missing something. That something was a plan.

"Wait," shouted Amity. "We need a plan. We can't just barge in or we will get hypnotized too." They all thought about it for a minute. But time was not on their side as Luz could forget about them any time now.

"I got it," said Eda. "First Gus will create illusions of us barging in which will throw their guard off. With them distracted, we can find Luz and get her out. Though I don't know if it will save Luz there or if we will have to work harder."

"If it comes to that," Amity replied. "Then I will know what to do." With the plan ready, the gang set out to rescue Luz.

*** Meanwhile Luz was starting to grow back to her normal 14-year old self again. "Is this normal," she questioned.

"It means that you have pasted the reset phase as you can say," answered the leader. "Now come, we have to show the others." They both walked to the group to show Luz's progress.

*** Amity, Gus, Willow, King, Hooty and Eda were right outside hiding behind a bush waiting for Amity's signal. "Ok guys, get ready," she said.

Just then some people came up and said something to them. "Hey you want to defeat the Hypodemons," one questioned. "Well you might need these." They cast a spell that made foil bowls appear. "These can prevent them from hypnotizing you. Though why are you here anyway?"

"My girlfriend was tricked by them and we want to save her," answered Amity.

"Then we wish you luck," the other stranger replied and then they disappeared in the bushes never to be seen again. The gang put the foil bowls on and started the plan. An alarm went off which triggered the leader to alert the group.

"Go find the intruders," said the leader. "Luz, find somewhere save. You are not ready to fight." Luz agreed and ran the opposite direction. Just then Amity ran right into her.

"Luz," Amity exclaimed. "I'm so glad I found you. We need to leave now," with her pointing to the rest of the group.

"Help," Luz screamed. "I'm in danger" as she tried to hypnotize them but was struggling to do so. Amity didn't like what she was seeing. She may have been protected with her foil bowl but knew Eda was right.

"Luz," said Amity. "I'm sorry for what I'm about to do." She grabbed a hold of Luz and pulled her in close.

"Stop," shouted Luz. "What are you..." She couldn't finish her sentence as Amity kissed her (like Clouds on the Horizon). When she finished Luz said, "Amity, what are you doing here?" Her size also grew back to her normal 14 year old self.

"We've come to rescue you from those Hypnodemons," answered Amity. "Now come, Gus created an illusion and I don't know how much more it will hold." Luz ran with the gang but they ran into one more problem. The leader was blocking their path.

"I'm not letting you escape," said the leader. He transformed into what appeared to be a bunch of palisman souls (Belos style). He grabbed Luz and began to squeeze. Amity was in shock that her anger got to her and transformed into a full abomination.

"Alright, Amity said. "If you want a fight, then it will be a fight!"
