Chapter 4

Surprised Guest

"Jack, are you home?" Isabella called into a cabin that Jack built for the both of them.

"Isabella," Jack came to the enhance pulling on his vest coming to the door, "What are you doing here?" he smiled at her.

"I wanted to know if you wanted to go to the pond for a picnic?" Isabella smiled back.

"Yeah," he saw Isabella's mother, "Hello, Mrs. Brody."

"Hello, Jack. You can start calling me Mama," the woman smiled at the boy who held his daughter heart in his hand.

"Let me go get my shoes back on," Jack ran back to his room…

Groaning Jack slapped at North hand, "Seriously I was having a great dream," Jack actually glared at the guardian on wonder.

"Sorry, Jack but Bunny just got here," North was surprised by Jack's glare.

Setting up on the couch Jack yawned and starched then pick up his staff, "Hey Bunny."

"Jack," Bunny looked at him and actually wished the Cossack to let the winter spirit to sleep. The boy looked tired and wonder if he was sleeping at night. He knew that Jack would sleep a few weeks when spring came so when winter came in the southern hemisphere he would be rested.

Jack was actually sore and wanted go and find a thick snowdrift some to heal. The General of Winter attacked Jack but the General walked away with some pretty nasty injuries while Jack had a bruised rib and a sprained ankle. The older spirit couldn't tell Mother Nature without telling on himself.

"You alright, mate."

"I'm fine I was enjoying my dream, and North woke me up," Jack's blue eyes were tired and Bunny notice the Jack was favoring his right leg a little.

Bunny gave him a knowing look when Jack mentioning of dream, but he was worried about Jack's legs.

"So, Bunny how did it go?" Tooth asked fluttering up next to him.

"It went pretty good. I got three new believers. I always enjoy watching the children looking of the goodies."

"Good," North said and looked at a very tired Jack who look like the boy was about to fall asleep standing up, "Jack."

"What?" he jerked up when he heard his name.

"Come we have feast."

Standing up Jack slowly fallowed the other to the banquet hall. Bunny walked beside him, "You don't look so good."

"Gee thanks, Bunny," Jake tried to hide his yawn.

"Seriously, are you okay?" Bunny asked, "You're favoring you right leg."

"Old injury," Jack lied, "It can act up once in awhile."

"You can talk to us, Jack," Bunny said making the boy look at him.

"Sandy and Tooth are always busy and I tried to talk to North said he needed to work on some toy or something he thought of and didn't have time and that was two days ago and you said you're used to being alone," Jack sighed.

Bunny looked at Jack and was surprised that other guardian would not want to help Jack out, "Jack, look I'm not good at this. I know writing doesn't always help, but I can try to be there. You can come to the warren if you need to talk to someone Just try not to freeze anything. I don't know why other are acting like they are but I'll try to help if I can."

"Thanks, Bunny," Jack smiled as they enter the banquet hall.

There stood the Grim Reaper, "Jack," came a female voice.

"Grim," don't scare everybody. I thought the last time I saw was the last time."

The Grim Reaper removed her hood and revealed a pretty woman with pitch black hair and eyes just as black, "Trust me if I had my way it would have been."

"May I ask why you are here?" North stood in front of Jack.

"To talk," she looked past North and right at Jack,

"About what?" Jack looked at her.

"We have a problem in the heavens. Your family is in trouble."

"WHAT?" everybody looked at the bringer in death in surprise.

They all knew that Jack had he memories, but he never talked about his past (expect the little he told Bunny) Tooth told them that they shouldn't push him Jack into to telling them. Wanting to give him time process them and find closure in knowing that everybody that he loved and cared for were long gone. The guardians all agreed.

"Your parents, brother, sister and the Brodys,"

Jack's ice-cold eyes turned cerulean as his staffed hummed with power. The guardian never saw Jack anger, "What about?"

"Yes," Grim said flatly," I can only do so much, Jack?"

"Who?" Jack growled thanking he already knew who took his family from their home in the heavens."

"Hannah Stone," Grim actually cringed when spikes erupted from the floor making her disappear and reappear on a ceiling beam, "I told Peter this was a bag ideal, but he had orders from the big guy, and I will argue with Manny but not the king of kings.

"Good thinking," Jack was trying to calm down, "Do you know where they are?"

"Yes, but you need to calm down so I can tell you something about your family."
