Exterior: Space, Pantora.

The Rogue Shadow, hundreds of interceptors, starfighters and bombers, 30 Star-Hawks, 30 Mandalorian capital ships, 20 Acclamators, and 30 Venators, intercepted a massive invasion fleet.

Interior: Rogue Shadow, cockpit.

Knowing exactly who it was, Starbird warned, "Attention, Grysk warships, this is Mand'alor.

You're trespassing in, and attempting to invade Mandalorian and Republic space.

You have two seconds to return to your own borders, or die."

"So be it," screeched a Grysk, over the radio.

As his fleet jammed the Grysk's communications, Galen ordered, "Disable their ships, shields, hyperdrives, and weapons, and prepare boarding parties.

They'll most likely have prisoners or slaves aboard their ships in need of rescue,"

"Copy that, your highness." acknowledged a pilot from the Pantoran Royal Guard.

"Oh, and take no Grysk as prisoners,"

"With all due respect, may I ask why they're a kill on sight?"

"They're a race of nomadic conquerors with powerful mind domination abilities who lay waste to all they can't enslave.

And the dark side, though they're not Force sensitives, has corrupted their species to the point of being irreversibly pure evil,"

"Understood."

Within three minutes, Galen's fleet completely decimated the Grysk filth before launching their boarding parties.

At the same time.

Exterior: Unknown regions, space.

Appearing out of nowhere, as always, the mystery stealth armada annihilated nearly every ship the main Grysk Armada had at their disposal before warriors and combat droids boarded the ships, and eradicated the Grysk crews whilst rescuing hundreds of prisoners and slaves who were promptly returned to their home worlds.

A week later.

Exterior: Mandalore, Sundari, park, early afternoon.

As he approached Galen who was watching Omega, Caleb, Katooni and Petro playing with some friends, local, clone, and fellow Jedi, a little human boy, with fair skin, short dark hair, and brown eyes, bowed, "Su'cuy, Mand'alor,"

"Su'cuy, Din'ika," returned Galen, "can I help you with something?"

"My clan's leader says Mandalorians, by Creed, are forbidden from removing their helmets, but every Mandalorian outside of my clan seems to do it." explained Din Djarin, "I'm really confused."

"Ad'ika, you'll find many Mandalorians have their own customs, values, codes of honour, and traditions.

And varying opinions and beliefs on what makes someone a Mandalorian."

"Really?" asked Din, curious.

"Some follow different rules, or different interpretations of them, since there have been several reincarnations and evolutions of Mandalorian culture.

From The Resol'nare, to The Way of the Mandalore Creed, to the Supercommando Codex written by my predecessor.

Some Mandalorians select parts of each of the rulebooks to suit their own personal morals, ideals, and preferences."

"So I'm not dar'manda for taking off my helmet?"

"You're a Mando'ad, Din Djarin.

You're who you choose to be.

There's more to being Mando'ade than the rules of old.

For those rules may have been necessary when they were written, but the galaxy's changed since then.

While the greater galaxy evolves and adapts, so must we."

"Did you ever follow the no-removing helmet rule?"

"No."

"Why?"

"One of the reasons I don't is a covert op I went on when I was still in my early teens.

I went to rescue several children from slavers using battle droids disguised as armoured soldiers for enforcers.

The kids I was there to rescue were terrified of me until I showed them I was a person underneath the helmet,"

"That makes sense," mused Djarin, "How'd they know you were there to help them?

I don't think it'd be that easy to earn their trust,"

"I showed them through my actions, and how I treated and spoke to them."

With a smile, Din nodded, "Thanks for taking the time to talk to me, Mand'alor,"

"It was my pleasure, Din'ika." assured Galen.

"May I be excused?" asked Din who received a nod before he ran off to play with Boba and Grogu.

"Who was that?" asked Ahsoka as she joined him.

"A foundling adopted during the Clone Wars," explained Galen, "His name is Din Djarin,"

Observant, Snips mused, "He and Grogu are getting along as if they've known each other forever,"

"Maybe they have in a way," deduced Galen, "one of the ways the Force wouldn't make clear."

Later.

Exterior: Ziost, Sith citadel, evening.

Engaged in a fierce but one-sided battle, three hundred Sith warriors and Inquisitors were outmatched by a powerful yet unknown adversary.

The adversary was a beautiful, voluptuous, perky, busty, slim, sexy, human woman with fair skin, yellow eyes, and brown hair.

She wore a form-fitting, high-collared, grey and black body-suit with a diamond shaped cleavage window, black boots, sleek greaves, bracers, tassets, and pauldrons.

A long slit-skirt, a belt with a gold buckle, and a short black hooded cape with a gold pattern along its edges.

Utilising a golden blade, the adversary ruthlessly cut down the Sith forces, and extinguished her weapon before turning to Jason, X1, X2, Yaddle, and Yarael.

"It is not too late to redeem yourself, child," implored Yaddle, "whatever you've done, you can still return to the light,"

"Oh, I know how to play you, Imp," thought the adversary who shed a tear, "it's too late,"

"It is not too late, dear child," replied Yaddle as she approached the adversary, "leave here with me… I can help you."

On one knee to meet the elder Jedi at eye level, the adversary shivered, "I know what I have to do, but I don't know if I have the strength to do it… will you help me?"

Yaddle gave a reassuring smile, "Yes, anything," before the adversary's yellow eyes turned sky blue.

Suddenly, the adversary's eyes reverted back to yellow as she gripped her lightsaber, shoved its emitter into Yaddle's chest, and impaled the Jedi Master as the gold blade sprang to life with a snap-hiss, "Thank you, old one."

Discarding the corpse which vanished into the Force, the adversary sadistically smiled before slaughtering the four remaining Jedi, then thousands of Sith troopers arrived.

"What a lovely little world you wretched Sith have here.

There's just one teensy tiny thing wrong with it,"

"And what's that?" questioned a Sith Commander.

"It's disgustingly overpopulated with the lives of weaklings like you," sneered the adversary.

Interior: Mandalore, Sundari, palace, throne room, late afternoon.

Sensing a great disturbance, Galen exhaled, "Ziost is dead,"

"Who's Ziost?" wondered Katooni as she sat in Petro's lap, with his arms protectively wrapped around her waist.

"Kat'ika, Ziost is a planet, not a person," answered Galen, "it's one of the Sith homeworlds,"

"Sorry, Buir," apologised Katooni who blushed in embarrassment.

"There's nothing to be sorry for, dear one." assured Galen who smiled at his apprentice before there was another shift in the Force.

"What was that?" asked Barriss, sensing it.

"Whatever it is, I feel cold," shivered Omega.

"Ditto." added Katooni and Petro, also sensing the disturbance.

Bringing the kids into their arms, Galen, Riyo, Ahsoka, Obi-Wan, Luminara, and Barriss held them protectively, sending soothing vibes to them through the Force.

As the hug ended, Galen received a vision.

(Begin vision.)

Interior: Undisclosed location, Sith Dread Masters' fortress, dungeon.

A little human girl, no older than 11, with fair skin, dark brown hair and brown eyes, cowered in fear of Lord Vader, "F- father, please, no," before screaming as the Dark Lord tortured her with the dark side of the Force.

"You are no daughter of mine," Vader growled, "You are nothing more than a reminder of your mother.

If you will not embrace the dark side, and serve the Emperor, you are of no use to me."

Summoning Vader's lightsaber with the Force, the young girl ignited the blade, taking a Soresu-like stance, "I won't serve something as evil as him, or any evil!

And I won't become a Sith!"

"Enough of this childish defiance, Shmi," hissed Vader who took back his weapon, and commanded, "You will kneel, and swear allegiance to the Emperor and the Dark side,"

"Never!"

Interior: Sith Dread Masters' fortress, lab.

"Master Aulendil, her Force sensitivity and her knowledge of it has been buried too deeply for her to ever reach," informed a sinister protocol droid, "additionally, her memories have been buried as well.

None of them will return without a code word she'll never again hear: your name."

"The name you refer to is that of a dead man," dismissed Vader, "I am Darth Vader,"

"As you say, my Lord."

(end vision.)

Taking a deep breath, Galen exhaled, "I just had a vision of Vader,"

"What kind of vision?" asked Katooni.

"Not a good one,"

"Are visions of the Sith ever good?"

"Fair point, my Padawan."

"Was there anything insightful in your vision?" wondered Luminara.

Hesitant, Galen answered, "I think he might be Ani's grandfather," shocking the present company who stared at him.

"His what?" exclaimed Ahsoka.

"On Alderaan, Freedon Nadd said to beware of a fallen Skywalker.

In my vision just now, I saw Vader with a daughter named Shmi, which is also the name of Anakin's mother,"

"Are you sure it wasn't a false vision created by Vader?"

"The only way to find out is by speaking to Ani's mum,"

Obi-Wan chimed in, "I think I'll handle that, dear one."

"Let's not tell Anakin about this until we know for sure if it's true," advised Ahsoka, "the last thing we need is Skyguy seeking him out."

"I believe I heard part of Vader's true name in the vision as well," mentioned Galen, "which he seems to be using to lock away his daughter's memories,"

"Oh?" asked Kenobi as he folded his arms, "Do tell, what is this monster's name?"

Mand'alor ominously uttered, "Aulendil." before thunder furiously roared from outdoors, startling his companions.

In fright, Katooni tightly clung to Petro for safety, like a Koala clinging to a tree, as he gently embraced her, and softly comforted, "You're safe… you're safe, Kat,"

With a grateful smile, Katooni closed her eyes as she rested her head upon Petro's shoulder, and melted into the hug, "Thank you, cyare,"

"Anytime, Kat,"

"Hold me,"

"As you wish."

As a Commander of the Mandalorian royal guard entered, Galen turned to address them.

They wore a black undersuit, and a dark green cuirass depicting the True Mandalorians crest in the centre of an Uneti tree in gleaming silver.

Green boots and greaves.

Red vambraces, gauntlets, and elbow guards.

And a green cape which stopped at its wearer's knees.

His helmet was blue and green.

A Kad hung from his belt, as did blaster pistols from holsters on either side.

"My Lord Mand'alor," greeted the Guard Commander who requested, "may I have a word, vod?"

"Of course, Faramir," obliged Galen, "and speak freely, ner burc'ya bal vod,"

"Some of our scouts have returned with something I believe you may want to see,"

"Lead on."

Later.

Interior: Mandalore, Sundari, tech lab.

Arriving with his daughters, Ahsoka, Barriss and Riyo, Galen tensed upon seeing a recovered combat droid and armour from the mystery enemy, "I've seen these before,"

"When did you see them, love?" asked Barriss, "they don't look like any design I've seen in the archives,"

"In a dream." exhaled Starbird.

As BD-2 beeped, Galen nodded, "See what you can find, Bee-Dee," before the little droid plugged into the combat droid's head.

Working his magic, BD-2 produced various forms of intel, schematics and designs, and both footage and holograms of the twin Princes.

When they finished searching the droid's memory banks, Ahsoka noticed Galen's expression, "Do you know something?"

"Over the years, I've read about and listened to all kinds of legends, rumours, myths, and stories from wild space and the unknown regions."

"And?"

"One such myth, from the unknown regions, spoke of an ancient civilisation protected by legions of Force wielders and a vast stealth armada.

However, I'd initially concluded it was related to either the Sith, a forgotten sect of Jetii, or the Rakata."

As the Force revealed their identities, Galen added, "The two leaders are the Highest of Generals of the forces they lead, and Princes named Thexan and Arcann."

"Who do you think the other armoured warriors in the holos are?" asked Katooni, "And where did they come from?"

Placing his hand on the clanker's chassis and the dead warrior's chest, Galen received a wealth of new information through his psychometry, "They're Knights of Zakuul, and they're not to be underestimated."

"Who?"

"An Order of Force wielders who act as a policing body for their namesake homeworld of Zakuul, and its territories," explained Galen, "They wield the Force as an instrument of justice, nothing more or less.

They're neither Jetii nor Sith, nor devoted to the light or dark."

Riyo observed, "Speaking of Force wielders, your own Order of Force users has inspired the creation, heavy recruitment of, and revival of several others who operate within their respective systems,"

"Such as?" asked Katooni.

"The Paladins of Pantora, Mystics of Mirial, Shinobi of Shili, Rangers of Ryloth, Nubian Nightingales, Centurions of Chandrilla, Baran-Do Sages, and others,"

"A while ago, we also encountered a Ranger of the Ashla." added Omega.

Later.

Exterior: Mandalore, palace, landing pad.

As a beautiful, slim, voluptuous human woman, with fairer than fair skin, light blue eyes, and long dark hair in a high bun, stepped off a strange shuttle, which arrived by starfighter escort, she was met by a dozen Mandos and Galen.

She wore elegant white and silver, high collared armour, a black, skin-tight, undersuit, and a golden ring on her left hand, whilst a lightsaber hilt hung from her belt.

Her presence in the Force was neither strictly light nor dark, but leant towards the light despite traces of darkness.

Searching through the Force, Galen felt her emotions: fear, determination, resolve, courage, caution, and curiosity.

Studying her facial expression as he removed his helmet, Galen observed and sensed her shock, "You look like you've just seen a ghost."

The woman's expression softened, "You look so much like Kento,"

With a sharp exhale, Mand'alor demanded, "Who are you?"

"My name's Senya Tirall," answered Senya, "and I need your help,"

"Is that so?" inquired Galen as he gently took Senya's hand whilst she went into great detail and his psychometry triggered.

Later.

Exterior: Space, Unknown regions, Csilla system.

Under fire, the full might of the Chiss Defence Fleet and Navy, and other fleets from their allies in the Unknown regions, were overwhelmed by 500,000 warships from The Eternal fleet.

Interior: Chiss Warship, Steadfast, bridge.

"Thrawn, you'd better have a plan!" warned the fierce and beautiful Admiral Ar'alani, "whoever these invaders are, their ships are tearing us apart,"

"Not to worry, my dear Ar'alani, for the turn of the tide is upon us," answered Thrawn's hologram, calm as ever, "and we shall not suffer defeat,"

"Dear?" she wondered with a raised eyebrow.

"Yes, my darling?" casually inquired Thrawn, "do you have a question, my fair lady?"

"Are you seriously flirting with me right now, Grand Admiral?" asked Ar'alani, "in the midst of a battle that may decide the fate of the Ascendency itself?

If not the fate of the entire galaxy?"

"Perhaps I am, or perhaps I am not,"

"And would I learn the answer over dinner this evening, in my personal quarters?"

"A wonderful suggestion, Supreme Admiral," praised Thrawn, "shall we say seven?"

"We shall, assuming survival and the battle ending before then." agreed Ar'alani who ended the call.

"Is help coming?" asked Sky-Walker Che'ri, fearful, "or are we going to die?"

"Assistance will arrive momentarily, my treasured one," answered Thrawn as he reassuringly hugged the child, "in the form of the Jedi Knights, just like in the fairytales Thalias reads you."

"I love you, Dad,"

Heart-warmed, Thrawn returned, "I love you too, my Daughter."

Exterior: Space, unknown regions, Csilla system.

Emerging from hyperspace, behind the Eternal Fleet's ships, a GAR-CIS-Mandalorian armada, including hundreds of thousands of ships from The Foundry, joined the battle.

"Unidentified armada, this is Supreme Admiral Ar'alani of the Chiss Expansionary Defence Fleet warship Steadfast.

Identify yourselves immediately." ordered Ar'alani, via comms.

"May the Force be with you, Supreme Admiral.

This is Jedi Master Galen Marek, Supreme General of the Grand Army of the Republic.

Better known as Mand'alor: The Starbird, aboard the Mandalorian warship Starhawk," replied Starbird, fluently using the Chiss language, as his ships immediately engaged the enemy, "we're here to assist you, upon the personal request of Grand Admiral Mitth'raw'nuruodo."

"Much appreciated, Master Jedi."

With his new insight into the enemy, Galen advised, "If your ships have ion weapons, use them.

The enemy warships are operated by sentient droids called GEMINI,"

Ar'alani nodded, "Acknowledged."

Via comms, Galen ordered, "Jam the enemy fleet's transmissions.

We don't want them calling for backup, communicating, or capable of escaping."

"Yes, Supreme General." acknowledged Senior Admiral Gilad Pellaeon, "For the Republic!"

"Lock s-foils in attack positions," ordered Anakin, from his Jedi starfighter, "and may the Force be with us all."

"Copy, Red Leader," acknowledged several squadron leaders.

"Fighter squadrons, protect the bombers," ordered Ahsoka, from the Akul's claw, "Bombers, target those ships with ion torpedoes,"

"Copy that, vod'ika." obliged several clone pilots.

"Remember to keep a safe distance since these warships have a squadron self-destruct feature when even one of the ships in their formations is destroyed.

And everything within the blast radius will go down with them."

"Understood, General."

"CIS fleet, use all of your ion cannons on the enemy fleet, but be careful not to get organic controlled ships caught in the blasts," ordered Ventress, from her fanblade starfighter, "all droid starfighters and bombers, we're sending you as the first wave,"

"Of course we are, ma'am." obliged Admiral Trench.

"Capital ships, when you're in position, fire all weapons, especially the omnicannons," ordered Galen, "B-wings, that goes for you too,"

"Yes, Mand'alor." acknowledged various pilots.

"May the Force be with us."

Three hours later.

Interior: Rogue Shadow, cockpit.

Whilst Juno co-piloted, Galen reached deep into the Force as he allowed it to guide him.

Using their leader's experiences and insight, along with the strategic genius of himself, Revan, Ar'alani, Thrawn, and others, Galen's armada, the Chiss fleet, and their local allies, all of whom suffered losses, including the entire CIS fleet, managed to destroy the present forces of the Eternal fleet.

Interior: Venator, Admiral Pellaeon's flagship, bridge.

Critically injured, Gilad farewelled, "It's been an honour serving with you all." before taking his last breath.

Interior: Chiss warship, Steadfast, bridge.

Via holocom, Ar'alani sighed in relief, "That was too close for comfort, Mandalore,"

"I don't believe that was their whole navy.

They call it The Eternal Fleet for a reason, so that would've been the first wave."

"What class of warship are you using?

They seemed to be what made the difference,"

"Many of them are Starhawk-class,"

"You named your flagship the same thing as its class?" asked Ar'alani who sarcastically commented, "How creative,"

"My flagship is the prototype, and the warship's class was named after it." corrected Galen whose flagship was heavily damaged.

Ar'alani observed, "Let us hope you coming to the Ascendency's aid didn't leave your own worlds vulnerable,"

"We'll worry about that," replied Ahsoka, via comms, "and the Jedi are always willing to provide future aid."

Later.

Exterior: Mustafar, Sith temple, courtyard.

As they approached the temple, with a strike team of Knights of Zakuul, the Princes eliminated the guards before they heard chilling breathing as Lord Vader and his wraiths emerged from within.

In unison with his brother and the strike team, Arcann raised his blade, "Darth Vader, the Knights of Zakuul have come for you."

"If you wish to play at being the galaxy's protector, you may die as one," taunted Vader as his wraiths engaged in battle with the Knights of Zakuul.

Separating the brash Arcann as his wraiths attacked the others, Vader's crimson blade sprang to life with a snap-hiss, "I feel your anger, your hatred,"

"Good for you, Sith scum," hissed Arcann as his blade met Vader's in a fierce display of skill.

"Your thoughts betray you, for you will never regain your father's approval or love," taunted the Sith Lord, "You have no ambition, only jealousy, and turn away those who freely offer the affection you crave.

You will turn to the dark side, it is your-"

Shielding his mind, Arcann unleashed a series of strikes, lunges, parries, and flurries, "Shut up!"

30 mins later.

"You will never be strong enough to protect your sister from him, or from me," stated Vader whose assault was relentless, "Poor little Vaylin will be all alone… in the dark," as his wraiths surrounded Thexan who valiantly fended them off whilst their troops fell.

Momentarily distracted by his brother's struggle, Arcann was caught off-guard as Vader severed his left arm, caught him by the throat, threw him to the ground, and set him ablaze with the Force before pouring molten lava onto him, "Ahhh!"

"Brother!" called Thexan as he leapt over the wraiths, and rushed to his brother's side before the Rogue Shadow flew overhead, and the boarding ramp lowered.

As the flames extinguished upon his graceful landing, near the twins, Galen launched the Sith Wraiths and Vader across the temple's courtyard with a mighty Force Wave.

"Who are you?" asked Thexan, staring at Marek, before Senya leapt down from the starfighter.

Surprised, Arcann weakly coughed, "Mother?"

As she approached the wounded Arcann, Senya stood over him, cyan blade ignited, and assumed a Soresu stance, "Get away from my boys!"

The Force guiding him to draw his sword which emitted a cyan hue, Galen took a Mando Vaapad stance whilst Vader and his wraiths rose to their feet.

Surrounding Marek, the Wraiths drew their blades, "No mere mortal can destroy us,"

Starbird stood his ground, "From the darkness of Chaos you phantoms came, now return, lest you face the justice of Mand'alor's flame!"

"You know not what you face, Jedi.

The Nine are pure dark side nexuses personified," stated Vader, "who are you to challenge us?"

"I am Mand'alor." replied Galen as he immersed himself in a state of Force Oneness.

The lead wraith slashed at Mand'alor who froze the creature in place with the Force, then, with a single serene flourish, mighty Mand'alor's flame vanquished the foul phantasm which unleashed a horrific shriek.

As the other wraiths advanced towards him, side-by-side, Starbird tapped deeper into the Forces, and masterfully unleashed Force Light upon them, purging the wraiths of their connection to the dark side, completely eradicating them.

Hearing an ion engine, Marek, who'd reverted back from the Oneness state, observed an escaping starfighter… Vader's starfighter.

Approaching Arcann, who lay unconscious, scarred, and covered with severe burns and melted flesh, Galen sheathed his sword, and knelt by his side, "I can save him, if you'll let me,"

"Then do it," replied Thexan, "please save my brother."

Resting his right hand upon Arcann's abdomen, Galen immersed himself in the Force as he healed the Prince's entire body which became surrounded by a warm light as his wounds faded and his damaged tissue regenerated, then the Mandalorian's hand moved to Arcann's forehead.

To the shock of the others, Galen even grew back Arcann's arm.

When the healing glow faded, Galen rose to his feet, "He'll need rest, and to take it easy for a while.

No piloting, fighting, heavy lifting, etc, until he's fully recovered,"

"He won't follow those orders," chuckled Thexan, "he's stubborn like that when it comes to healers,"

"Sounds like you've just volunteered to tell him, instead of a doctor.

Since I have a feeling he'll listen to you."

Days later.

Interior: Mandalore, Sundari, Jedi temple district, halls of healing, recovery room.

As Katooni tended to Prince Arcann's unconscious form, under Barriss's supervision, Galen watched her proudly.

Having no inclination to speak yet, Thexan watched in silence as the child tended to his brother like a veteran doctor, and thought, "She's doing a better job than I could."

As he drowsily awoke, Arcann looked around to see the blurred figures of his brother, mother, a child, and an armoured stranger by his bedside, "Mother?"

"I'm here, dear," assured Senya.

"What happened?" wondered Arcann, his eyes regaining focus.

"You were hurt badly, but a friend saved you."

"Where am I?"

"Somewhere you can get medical attention."

"I love you, mother," exhaled Arcann, to the surprise of his brother.

Shedding a tear of joy, Senya kissed Arcann's temple, and held him gently, "I love you too, my beautiful boy."

"I'm Katooni Marek, what are your names?" asked Katooni, interested in the three guests.

"I am Thexan," answered Thexan who gestured, "this is my mother, Senya, and my brother, Arcann,"

Katooni gestured, "This is my Buir, Galen,"

"What species are you?

And what does Buir mean?"

"I'm a Tholothian, and Buir is a contextual term for a parent."

"You're adopted?"

"Yep, and I couldn't be happier about it." gleefully answered Katooni as Senya smiled in adoration of the child.

Turning to Senya, Galen stated, "We have much to discuss,"

"About?" inquired Senya.

"Let's start with how and why your sons and their armies have been attacking several galactic governments, among other factions,"

"The idea was Arcann's," elaborated Thexan, "by the time our Father approved it, your war with the Sith Empire was resolved."

Blinking in surprise as he sensed the Padawan's presence in the Force, Arcann asked, "How is this child already more powerful than an elite Knight of Zakuul?"

"In the heart of a Jedi lies their strength," answered Katooni, "and lots of meditation helped me improve my connection to the Force.

It's also relaxing, and a good way to clear the head."

"Meditation?" wondered Arcann, "I've never tried it,"

"Maybe you could while you recover from your injuries, since you'll need lots of rest anyway.

And it helps Jedi relax, find their centre, and release their negative emotions into the Force,"

"Sounds worthwhile." admitted Arcann.

"Hello," greeted Omega as she entered, "I'm Omega Marek, who are you?"

"Hello, young one," greeted Senya, "these are my sons, Thexan and Arcann."

Observing Thexan, Omega stated, "You're suspicious of my father,"

Raising an eyebrow, Thexan replied, "The Mandalorian? Yes.

When he healed my brother, something changed in him.

He's calmer, more at ease, less full of anger, and he told our mother he loves her,"

"What's strange about that?"

"He hasn't told her he loves her since we were children.

He usually seeks approval from our father… Valkorion."

As she looked around, Omega asked, "Did anyone else hear ominous music upon hearing that name?"

"I heard it too," answered Arcann, "is this what it's like to hear the Force?

Or is it a fourth wall break?"

"I'm not sure what you mean by that last part, but the Force can seem like it's playing a song.

Some Jedi have claimed kyber crystals sing to the Force adept they choose to bond with."

Interested, Thexan inquired, "Do they ever scream in agony?"

Galen confirmed, "When they're in pain, they do.

Such as ones that've been 'bled,' by dark side users who bend crystals to their will."

"Lightsaber crystals feel pain?"

"Kyber crystals are near sentient but naturally attuned to the light side.

When in tune with the Force adept they choose to bond with, they can strengthen one's connection to the Force.

They need to be awoken by that Force adept first,"

"And I thought they were just another valuable crystal."

Arcann wondered, "Do kyber crystals change colour?"

"Some will based on how in sync they are with the one bonded to them, and their alignment in the Force," answered Katooni, "Others are naturally the colour they're found in."

"So I might get a different colour blade if I meditate with my crystal?"

"Pretty much." stated Katooni before her comlink beeped, then she turned to Galen, "Dad, Petro's waiting to pick me up for our date,"

Galen nodded, "Have fun, Kat'ika,"

"Thanks, Dad." said Katooni, on her way out.

Turning to Galen, Thexan asked, "Where exactly are we?"

"A Jedi temple, but we're on the planet of Mandalore.

The Jedi Order's healers are some of the best medical personnel in the galaxy, and we have most of the best equipment,"

"If your Padawan's so advanced in that field as a child, she'll really be something else when her training's complete,"

"Indeed." mused Galen, "and the Jedi High Council will want to speak with the three of you."

"Any tips?"

"Be respectful and honest, tell the truth, mind your manners, and don't flirt with its members,"

"Flirt with its members?"

"There's several beautiful women on the Council,"

"Who's presently on the Jedi Council?"

"Plo Koon, Depa Billaba, Luminara Unduli, Shaak Ti, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Aayla Secura, Anakin Skywalker, Quinlan Vos, Even Piell, Stass Allie, Kit Fisto, Adi Gallia, and Yoda,"

"I've heard of the last one." observed Senya.

"You'll forgive us if we're a bit weary of you.

The last Empire we encountered was the Sith Empire, and they attacked us during the early stages of another war.

Their mistake because both warring factions turned on them instead of each other.

You've basically made the same mistake."

"We were winning those battles," pointed out Thexan.

"You mean when you were using guerrilla tactics and sending a large army of Force wielders and war droids against small outposts, lightly manned by standard soldiers and battle droids?"

"Fair point."

"By the way, your precious stealth fleet's not as invincible as you think.

Whoever's controlling it recently learnt that lesson the hard way,"

"What do you mean by that?"

"A fleet under my command came to the aid of a neutral party who was under an unprovoked attack by your fleet.

And we won that battle."

"There's only been one ship in history that could go head-to-head with the Eternal Fleet and win: The Gravestone."

"Never heard of it."

"It's been missing so long it's become more of an urban myth,"

"Maybe some of my father's ships have similar weapons to it," suggested Omega.

"Do any of them use an Omnicannon?"

"That's classified," replied Omega, as a matter of factly.

"That's cute, kid."

"Is there anyone else I should know about in your family?" asked Galen, "since you all seem to be strong with the Force,"

"My daughter, Vaylin, may be a problem," answered Senya as she produced a hologram of the delinquent herself.

"How powerful is she?" asked Omega, "Dad should know what he might be up against if they fight,"

"She's extremely powerful, and what happened to Ziost was her doing,"

"I've defeated Sith Lords capable of similar feats," Galen informed, "and I have a few powerful friends of my own, so I'm sure I can manage if I need to."

As the others made their way outside, Galen met Omega's gaze as he gestured to Arcann who'd started reading his datapad, "Watch him,"

"Copy that." acknowledged Omega who stood facing towards Arcann.

30 mins later.

Almost forgetting he wasn't alone, Arcann looked up from the datapad to see Omega looking directly at him, "What?"

Maintaining eye contact, Omega gestured with her hand, "I've got my eye on you, so don't try any funny business," before patting the hilt on her belt, "or else."

With an eye roll as he kept reading, Arcann was quietly amused by her attempt at being intimidating which was failing in the most adorable way.

Days later.

Interior: Mandalore, Sundari, Jedi temple district, Council chambers.

With a handful of Council members present, Galen, Katooni, Omega, Senya, Arcann and Thexan stepped into the centre of the room.

"Who might you be, ma'am?" asked Obi-Wan as he looked at Senya.

"My name's Senya Tirall, and these are my sons, Thexan and Arcann,"

"It's a pleasure to meet you, and what, may I ask, brings you before us?" wondered The Negotiator.

"Something's wrong with my husband," answered Senya, "He's not himself, he's something else.

Until a specific event from recent years, he was kind, chivalrous, nurturing, compassionate, loving, and noble.

Now he's only cold, distant, detached, and cruel."

"When did these changes begin to manifest?" inquired Shaak Ti before Senya went into detail.

(Begin flashback.)

Interior: Zakuul, Spire, Eternal throne room.

Feeling an intense shockwave through the Force as he sat alone in deep contemplation, an elegantly armoured, human male with fair skin with a lordly complexion, short black hair with a beard, and lavender eyes, rose to his feet.

Proud, Valkorion mused, "Defeating Tenebrae was impressive, Anakin Skywalker.

Most impressive, indeed, my young Jedi," before staggering as a dark presence infiltrated his powerful mind.

Approaching her husband's side, Senya asked, "Val, my love, are you alright?" before covering her mouth in shock as his presence darkened.

His eyes had turned a sickly yellow whilst his skin grew pale and wrinkled, and his hair greyed.

(End flashback.)

"That's quite the tale," observed Luminara, "and it sounds like he may be under the influence of a powerful dark side entity,"

"I believe bringing Galen and Anakin with us will be wise when we confront him," stated Senya.

"Does the true Valkorion have a soft spot for children?" inquired Obi-Wan, "There are alternatives to using brute force to solve problems,"

"Where are you going with this, Kenobi?"

"When we go to confront him, some of our Padawans could join us,"

"I'd hesitate to endanger children like that, if it doesn't go the way you're hoping for.

But I suppose that's their choice, not mine."

A few days later.

Interior: Mandalore, Sundari, palace hangar, morning.

"That's a really nice ship," mused Arcann as he admired the Rogue Shadow, "I want one,"

"And Anakin wants a basilisk war droid, but that's not happening either," replied Galen.

"Damn it," whined Arcann, making Thexan and Senya laugh.

"Tell you what, you can have a ship of this model when the Eternal Fleet's been destroyed."

Thexan stared blankly, "One does not simply destroy the Eternal Fleet, and it's our only real navy,"

"Sentient droids controlling your fleet is a catastrophe waiting to happen, since they could go rogue, or be corrupted by a virus," replied Omega, "Instead, you should reverse engineer the technology, and build your own ships for conscripted personnel to operate."

"You're very clever… Omega, was it?"

"Yep, Omega Marek,"

"Who named you Omega?

It's kind of a strange name,"

"I'm a clone, so it's normal by those standards,"

"Oh, I get it, you must've gotten Omega from a number designation like 0M3G4.

Like giving someone with a designation like 'FN,' a name like Finn."

"I never had a number, but that'd make sense."

"Wouldn't you prefer a normal name?"

"I like mine the way it is."

"I guess you're the lucky one.

You have a last name,"

Senya interjected, "Thexan, dear, your last name is Tirall,"

Arcann raised an eyebrow, "That's your surname, not Father's."

Arriving with Petro by her side, holding her hand, Katooni inquired, "What's his surname?"

"It's Marek." answered Senya before Galen stared into her eyes so intensely he could've been staring into her soul.

Several days later.

Interior: The Eternal Flagship, observation deck.

Galen, Arcann, Thexan, Aayla, Luminara, Senya, Obi-Wan, Anakin, Depa, Caleb, Petro, Katooni, Barriss, Ahsoka, Visas, and Omega watched as the ship entered hyperspace.

Nearby, HK-47, HK-55, Proxy, T7, T3, R2, and R7 did the same.

"What's with all the utility droids?" asked Thexan.

"They're extremely useful, so they might be able to help out," answered Katooni whilst BD-2, BD-3, and BD-4 sat mounted on their owner's shoulders.

"I fail to see how they'll help in battle outside of a starfighter,"

"That's why we brought the HKs, and dad's training droid.

They can protect the astromechs while they help in the ways usually overlooked."

"Ways like?"

"Overriding and opening a locked door when you're trying to infiltrate or escape from somewhere,"

"Huh… I usually just cut through locked doors with my lightsaber, or open them with the Force,"

"If those doors keep a data log of every time they open, it could trigger an alarm, and cause automated defence turrets to open fire,"

"Who has the patience to set something like that up?"

"That's another task a utility droid could handle." pointed out Petro.

Noticing Skywalker glaring intensely at him, Arcann met his gaze, "What?"

"Whose side were you on during the Clone Wars?"

"Zakuul's, and our Empire wasn't officially involved in that conflict.

Though we did protect our borders from several incursions.

You've noticed most of our targets were against the Sith and CIS, not the Republic?"

"So you were striking back against them, the same number of times your borders were attacked?"

"Yes."

"And your fleet attacked the Chiss Ascendency because?" wondered Ahsoka.

"Actually, we didn't participate in that battle.

But we did manage to limit how many ships Father sent when that happened,"

"How is at least five-hundred-thousand a limited number?" questioned Caleb, running his hand through his hair.

"Because the Eternal Fleet wasn't built by local shipyards.

It existed long before the Empire was formed, and has seen who knows how many battles throughout history."

Later.

Exterior: Zakuul, space.

Interior: Eternal flagship, observation deck.

"So this is Zakuul," mused Obi-Wan, "Interesting,"

"There's something wrong here," exhaled Visas, "a disturbance in the Force."

"I sense it too," added Katooni who shivered, "and I feel so cold.

I've never felt such darkness, such pure evil,"

As he gently held his girlfriend's hand, Petro smiled, "It'll be okay, Kat,"

"I'm scared," admitted Katooni.

Tapping into the light side, Petro warmly hugged the Tholothian who returned the embrace, "Me too, and that's okay."

Katooni raised an eyebrow, "It is?"

"If we're never afraid, we can't be brave either," elaborated Barriss, "Confronting fear is the destiny of a Jedi, and you're not alone, my treasure.

We're all here with you and with each other,"

Giving Barriss a great big hug, Katooni smiled, "Thanks, mum."

"How many missions have the children been on?" asked Senya.

"This is Petro and Katooni's first official mission as Padawans," answered Obi-Wan, "however Caleb's been a Padawan since just before the war.

And Omega's not a formal Jedi, but she's a Padawan on her first mission."

"Bringing them to confront my husband's not the wisest choice for an apprentice's first mission.

At most, I would've let children handle a supply run or act as a courier for their first mission."

"Agreed." approved Depa.

Obi-Wan nodded, "Well, Petro and Katooni, and their class of Initiates, ended up helping to fend off a Sith invasion on the same day they built their lightsabers,"

"Do I even want to know how that happened?"

"A friend who's a pirate decided to attack the ship transporting the younglings after they'd retrieved kyber crystals.

I accidentally ended up their hostage after kicking them off the ship, and they took me to their base.

Star and the younglings called in a Mando fleet before coming to rescue me, but the pirates had basically let me go by the time they arrived," explained Ahsoka, "then we had to join forces to fend of an army of Sith, under the leadership of Darth Maul and General Grievous, who decided to invade the planet hosting the pirate's base."

Senya raised an eyebrow, "Your friend kidnapped you?"

"Yeah, he does that to friends he thinks are neglecting or forgetting about him." elaborated Snips, making her peers laugh.

"You people have strange friends," sighed Arcann.

"Strange depends on your definition of normal," stated Dume, "the different peoples and cultures have different customs and traditions from each other.

Some might be normal to people of one, and strange to people of another, while others are universal,"

"Good point."

"So, Arcann, are you married with kids of your own?" asked Omega, curious.

"I've never really thought about it," admitted Arcann.

"Neither have I." added Thexan.

Later.

Interior: Zakuul, the Spire, throne room.

Escorted by the Princes, Senya, and their droids, the Jedi strode towards the throne to see a sickly old man upon it.

Dozens of Knights of Zakuul vigilantly stood guard but did not hinder the newcomers, for they were honoured guests of the Princes.

"Val?" asked Senya, "it's me, Senya."

The old man wearily awoke, revealing sickly yellow eyes, as if all strength and energy had eluded him, "Sen…"

"I've got a bad feeling about this." simultaneously muttered the Padawans.

Sensing the presence of pure evil in the Force, Galen, who wore a dark cloak over his armour, stepped forward, "Valkorion of Zakuul, the darkness' hold over you is at an end,"

Valkorion, with a demonic echo in his voice, cackled, "You cannot save him from me, Jedi." before hissing in agony as a piercing light shone upon him.

His presence revealed in all its majesty as he shed his cloak and removed his helmet, Galen's pure connection to the Forces radiated in monumental tidal waves as he glowed with a divine aura whilst his eyes and hair shone a bright emerald.

"What the?" wondered most of the present company.

"That's new." thought the Jedi.

Interior: Valkorion's mind.

Holding Senya as she lay dead in his arms, his sons and daughter in their child forms nearby, whilst his surroundings were veiled in the shadows of an eclipse, a tear trickled down Valkorion's cheek, "I'm so sorry, Sen, I've failed you… failed everyone,"

"Not just her, you've failed your precious Zakuul," taunted a black-clad, hooded and cloaked shadow with eyes black as the void, "and because of your failure, I will rise again.

Once more, the galaxy will tremble before me, and all shall serve me for eternity."

Appearing with a starlight bright aura radiating like flames around him, causing the eclipse to end and the barren landscape turning lush and green, Starbird said, "No, this is his world, and he will stop you… Vitiate."

"Agh! You again?" hissed Darth Vitiate, "He will stop me? He is nothing but a host body, a vessel for my spirit to control.

Who is he to stand against me?

Who is he that would have the power to defeat me?" as he engaged Starbird in a mighty Force duel.

Glowing brightly with a mighty Force energy aura of his own as he gently lay down his beloved's body, Emperor Valkorion stood tall, proud, powerful, and filled with new resolve.

Freezing the dark abomination of a Sith, disrupting the battle between the darkness and the stranger encased in light, he engaged in a battle of sheer wills against Vitiate.

Overpowering the dark presence with his love for his family giving him strength, the true Valkorion commanded, "I am the Immortal Protector of the Eternal Empire, and you will kneel before The Dragon of Zakuul!"

His hold on the human breaking, Vitiate roared in fury as the Dragon and Starbird forced him out of the former's mind.

Exterior: Valkorion's mind.

Interior: Zakuul, the Spire, throne room.

"Reveal yourself, demon of shadows and darkness!" commanded Starbird as he outstretched his hand and pulled it back, ripping a blood red skinned spectre from the body of Valkorion, yet the spectre took physical form immediately thereafter.

Everyone except Valkorion, who was unconscious, raised their weapons.

"Tenebrae," identified Mand'alor as he drew his sword which glowed with a starlight hue.

With an edge of rare fear as Galen's mere aura burnt him even from a distance, Tenebrae asked, "What are you?"

"I am Mand'alor: The Starbird," answered Starbird, advancing towards the Sith demon with his blade raised as he froze it in place with the Force, then cut him down, "And before me, you are nothing!"

In a spectral form once more, Tenebrae began, "I will return and have my re-" but was cut off as Galen's sword pierced his heart, despite his form being non-physical, "impossible!" before the Sith bastard faded into oblivion, causing a monumental disturbance in the Force.

Interior: Undisclosed location, shrine.

Standing over a flaming altar, a shadow was sent crashing into a stone wall whilst blue-white flames extinguished.

"No!" hissed the shadow as he rose to his feet, and roared at the sky whilst his glowing crimson eyes burnt with hatred.

Interior: Undisclosed location, monastery.

Seated upon a throne, a grey skinned humanoid figure, in blue robes, opened his bright blue eyes, "There is another…"

Interior: Zakuul, Spire, throne room.

Sheathing his sword, Galen approached the unconscious Valkorion, still seated upon his throne, and placed a healing hand upon his forehead as the Emperor's old and sickly appearance faded whilst his grace and fairness returned, "Awaken."

Rushing to her husband's side as Galen stepped back, returning to his usual form and donning his helmet, Senya held Valkorion's hand as he began to stir.

"Looks like Galen didn't need any of us to help, after all," observed Anakin.

"Maybe he knew that from the start, and thought it'd be a good excuse for a field trip," suggested Caleb, "or maybe he didn't want to take any chances.

We didn't really know who or what we'd run into,"

"Perhaps," agreed Billaba who theorised, "or perhaps he was drawing on our excess strength in the Force to augment his own.

It is a gift of his to do so, and one shared by Jedi Master Meetra Surik."

"What's going on here!" demanded Vaylin as she entered, then eyed Senya, "hello, mother."

"Vaylin, sweetie, I-" began Senya.

"Save it, mother," snapped Vaylin, "it seems our little family reunion has guests."

"You're Vaylin," observed Omega, "Thexan and Arcann's sister,"

"Do you want a gold star for figuring that out, child?" taunted Vaylin.

"Sister, that's enough." interjected Arcann.

Sensing the change in her father, Vaylin stared at the strangers, "What did you people do to daddy?"

Regaining his composure as Senya handed him his lightsaber, Valkorion rose to his feet, "They cured me of a plague named Tenebrae."

As her eyes burnt yellow, Vaylin cast lightning towards the Padawans, but Valkorion stepped in front of them, and intercepted the attack with a raised hand, "Stand down, daughter,"

Ceasing the attack, Vaylin asked, "What? Why are you protecting them?"

"Kneel before the Dragon of Zakuul!" commanded Valkorion, causing Vaylin to drop to her knees, rendering her immobile.

"What did you do?" demanded Galen as he approached Zakuul's Emperor, "What have you done to her?"

"Her powers were too great for her to control.

She needed a failsafe,"

"Not like this, she doesn't." argued Galen.

"You do not know my family, Lord Mandalore,"

Removing his helmet, Galen assured, "Yes, I do,"

Pausing, Valkorion noted the Mandalorian's features, "Who are you?"

"I am Galen Marek, son of Kento Marek,"

"Interesting."

"What Tenebrae did to your daughter, I can undo it," stated Galen.

"It would be a mistake to remove Vaylin's conditioning,"

"One I'm willing to make to free her from slavery,"

"Do what you will, but you will have to face the inevitable consequences of your actions,"

"As will you."

Approaching Vaylin's kneeling form, Galen lightly tapped her temple, causing her darkness to dissipate as she collapsed to the floor.

Kneeling by his sister's side, along with Thexan, as she awoke, Arcann asked, "Sister, are you alright?"

"Arcann? Where am I?" asked Vaylin whose eyes were an innocent sky blue, "what happened?"

"A nightmare, but it's over now," assured Senya as she knelt by her daughter, and embraced her.

Returning the embrace, Vaylin softly said, "Mother…"

Turning to Galen, Valkorion inquired, "It was you who entered my mind to assist me, wasn't it?"

"Yes." confirmed Galen.

"What are you?"

"I honestly don't know," admitted Starbird, "now, please stop sending the Eternal Fleet to attack everyone,"

"Who specifically has Tenebrae forced the Fleet to assault, while using me?" inquired Valkorion before he was filled in.

Later.

Interior: Zakuul, palace, dining room, evening.

Seated at the table, the Jedi dined with the royal family of Zakuul.

"So fourteen year old Galen, fully suited up in his armour, breaks into the fortress, all by himself, with well over a thousand heavily armed Magna Guards arriving to confront him," Secura told the present company.

"My, he is a bold one," mused Senya, "what happened next?"

"Staring down one of the galaxy's most powerful and well connected crime lords, as if he's not surrounded by an army, he says 'I can bring you in warm, or I can bring you in cold,'."

Looking up at Galen, Katooni and Omega, in unison, chuckled, "Daddy, you're crazy."

"Which option did the scumbag take?" asked Thexan.

"He ran for life whilst his private droid army tried and failed to stop Galen.

His fastest ship was barely off the landing pad, and trying to go into hyperspace, when it was suddenly pulled out of hyperspace as though there was a gravity well, and back down to the pad as if it were caught by a tractor beam."

"No way."

"After its return to the pad, most of his ship was disassembled like an assembly line working in reverse.

Then Galen walks up the boarding ramp, lightsaber in hand, right up to the felon who's practically wet himself, and says, 'You didn't answer my question,'." continued Aayla, making the present company erupt into laughter.

"What was the question?" wondered Anakin.

"Whether they want to be brought in warm or cold," answered Luminara, "without the one he's talking to having a chance to make some smart mouthed reply."

"Aayla, why was your son bounty hunting?" asked Senya, "it seems a dangerous hobby for a child,"

"Oh, he started his career as one much younger than that."

"Is that so?"

"On his first mission as a Jedi, he asked to go back to a bar we'd been in earlier during the mission.

I thought he was just going back because he'd spotted his father or a friend, and wanted to say hello.

The next thing I know, he returns to the ship with his helmet dented, and a corpse."

Pale, Petro's jaw dropped, "A corpse?"

"It was a traitor partly responsible for what happened to my clan on Galidraan," elaborated Galen, "I'd told him to his face that I'd hunt him down and kill him for what he did, plus he had a huge bounty on his head.

And I did it gunslinger style, not with the Force or my lightsabers."

Katooni turned to her sister, "Did you know about any of this?"

With a small smile, Omega nodded, "Yes, I knew about all of it,"

"I guess he's been taking it slowly when revealing his past to me,"

"He does have a lot of tragedy in his past, so he didn't feel it was fair to you to tell you all of it at once,"

"Fair enough."

As Caleb not so discreetly went for a chalice of wine, it floated out of his reach, into Valkorion's outstretched hand, "You're not yet of legal age to drink,"

"Just this once?" asked Caleb, "please?"

"Sweetie, we've talked about this," reminded Depa, "and the answer's still no,"

"Cal'ika, ad, listen to your mother," added Galen.

Caleb sighed in defeat, "Okay, Buir,"

"We also don't know what's in the alcohol here.

The percentage could be near toxic for a boy your age," stated Galen, "would Her'ika let you get away with drinking underage?"

"That was a cheap move." mumbled Caleb before Depa hugged him.

With an unusually cheeky expression, Arcann turned to his father, "This is the sort of parental relationship Vaylin, Thexan, and I should've had with you when we were their ages,"

"I would hope I raised you better than to drink underage, or indulge in illicit stimulants and performance enhancers,"

"At first you did, but when Tenebrae crept into your mind, you were why I started,"

"My apologies, son."
