"Keep it coming, keep it coming, a little to the left" Ren instructed Weiss through his scroll.
The girl was currently on top of the main Seidan ship where every captured student was sent into, using her black glyphs to slowly bring it down when they saw the aircraft was slowly losing control.
They all had considered using the ship's controls, but Weiss quickly stepped back from that idea once she saw they were different from those of any ship from Remnant and the now lifeless bodies of the pilot drones who had clearly blown their own heads off.
The engines were still on, and once the ship was close enough to the ground Port, Oobleck and a handful of students began to destroy the flying parts in a controlled manner. When they were finally done, the ship fell with a loud thump; denting the floor but practically intact.
"Well… we did it…" Ren told Weiss less than enthusiastically when the girl got off the roof and next to him.
"Yep…" she responded.
The ambiance around them should have been one of joy, but both were aware of what had happened. The CCT had returned, but both teens had already felt the quakes; the spectacle of the now free Tekunin was also something far more sickening to them since they knew about the truth about the humans and faunus that had been turned into machines.
After an awkward silence, Weiss was on her way to assist the unconscious students but stopped when something slammed against Ren, tackling him to the ground. "What the… Nora!?" Weiss then asked, shocked after she identified the red-head girl lying over the boy with her arms around his waist.
Both Ren and Weiss thought that was just Nora being herself but he then noticed the girl just kept her head on his chest, not saying or doing anything else, rising concerns in both of them.
"Nora? Are you ok?" Ren finally asked after he heard the faint crying coming from her.
"Better than ever" Nora assured him; finally removing her face from his chest and showing some tears of joy.
Deciding to indulge his life-long friend, Ran then returned the hug. "I'm glad you are safe too" he assured her. Both Ren and Nora did feel relief knowing that the other was alive and remained like that until Weiss coughed three times.
"Sorry to interrupt, but…" the white-colored girl began to talk while the other two looked at her; nonetheless, Weiss then checked around first to make sure no one was listening before continuing, sure that no one was on the hearing range, "We felt the earthquakes, shouldn't the headmaster be evacuating? What's more, how did you get here?".
At that, Nora and Ren stood up. The girl then cleaned her tears before speaking again in a happy, but not her usually bubbly tone. "Ruby has an idea, and I more than trust her! As for Ozpin…" she began to say before seemingly having remembered something. "Ozpin! We need to go to his office now Ren!" she joyfully exclaimed while pulling the boy by one of his slacks.
"Wait, Nora! Nora!" Weiss yelled as the other two got further away. Sighing in defeat, she then decided to just follow them.
"So, there was none left?" Nora asked Weiss about the Tekunin while they were all heading to Ozpin's office.
"Some did run into the woods, but no one wants to go look for them right now, so we don't really know how many of them are left".
"What about the ninjas?" Nora then asked.
"Still recuperating from their fight. Took a lot out of them" Ren remarked.
"Anyway, why are you taking us to the headmaster's office?" Weiss then asked Nora, aware of all that had to be done.
"We got her!" she simply told the other two.
Weiss and Ren just exchanged a confused glance at each other. "Got who?" Weiss asked, and as she was done asking the question the elevator opened, allowing both her and Ren to see Glynda trying to take off what looked like a suit of armor from a body lying on the desk; when the woman stepped aside to look at the new arrivals, Ren and Weiss were then able to see the sleeping form of Pyrrha. The two teens then sprinted towards the desk, stopping inches in front of it only because of the headmaster's cane blocking their way.
"I can assure you both she is fine" Ozpin then told them. "There were… complications… but she is fine. Just tired". He then retracted his cane and walked towards the window, looking at the broken moon before continuing, "Hopefully, victory is close at hand".
The Grimm threat had been almost entirely eradicated on the wall. The repair team was working like never before, but even without Grimm jumping through it, it didn't mean that the work was any easier. Although the rioters were contained at first, reinforcements soon arrived and the chaos from before only grew.
The rioters' firepower increased almost four times and their barracks were well protected and reinforced. Every student with a disposition to fiscally fight was being held back to prevent them from dying in a barrage of bullets and explosives until a clear path to the enemy side was clear. Something easier said than done.
Coco held her ground, firing her mini-gun and trying to hit any large targets, or quickly jumping out of the way when a missile was heading towards her. She kept on it until she saw the strange girl that helped her and Raven before, Vernal if her memory served her right. Coco then stopped shooting and jumped down to land in front of her. "Tell me you bring good news!" Coco yelled.
"Good news is we might be able to clear a path on the left and let our guys in. The bad news is that it's gonna take us a couple of hours at best. Worse news, they cut us off from the main road!" Vernal answered.
"No more men or resources?" Coco asked before shooting again.
"Right! … before we think of going in, we have to reclaim it! No other way!" explained Vernal before a rocket went over them. It would have hit a patrol car barricading the construction team, but a boulder hit the rocket before it made contact.
The source of said flying boulder was Taiyang, who was keeping the barricade safe and kept moving around to prevent further damage.
"Mr. Xiao Long!" Coco called. Taiyang noticed them and quickly got next to both women.
"How much longer?" then asked Vernal.
"Not good, they just reached the halfway point!" Taiyang answered.
"Can't they go any faster!?" Vernal insisted.
"They could, but then they would be exposed targets" he explained.
Both Coco and Vernal then sighed in defeat, knowing the night was far from over and the tide was turning against them again.
"Look, girls, I want this to be over as much as you do, but we can't leave the repair crew exposed!" Taiyang told them as he turned to point at the crew. "It will take a miracle to stop the rioters!".
It might have not been a prayer, but Tai's wish seemed to have been realized as not only his scroll, but every other scroll began to ring an alarm. Some people stopped what they were doing to see what had happened, and to their surprise, even most of the rioters did as well.
"The Emergency Broadcast?" Coco asked out loud. But before she could play the video, the screens all over Vale turned on to show the emergency screen for a moment.
Surprise then turned into shock when a recording suddenly played, showing Hotaru fighting in a damaged suit of armor. That in itself was not the shocking part, but who his opponent was. Most of the population of Vale saw him fighting a girl, some recognized her as a huntress, but only very few recognized who she really was.
"Ruby!?" Taiyang asked, fear consuming him like never before.
On the other side of the city, a masked Roman also stopped his assault on an army convoy as he looked at the screen. "Red!?" he asked, looking at Neo for an explanation. The girl, in turn, just shrugged.
Confusion quickly turned into horror as every citizen of Vale then saw Hotaru attacking the girl with death seemingly being his main objective. Shock then turned into horror once Ruby and Hotaru's conversation echoed throughout the city and some towns.
'I will not allow you to enslave us!'.
'Oh please… Seido taking control of this pathetic world and its people would be a blessing for you!'.
At that moment, no one had noticed that the battle had stopped completely. Everyone was now paying attention only to the screens and what was being discussed.
'After what happens tonight, do you think the people of Remnant will still follow you!?'
'Oh please, everyone will believe the academies did all of this out of spite towards us, stupid girl! After tonight, everyone will think this was a self-sabotage from the academies, attacking their own to make themselves look indispensable to every kingdom, hiring even lowlife criminals to terrorize their citizens while using students as dispensable pawns to cover their own actions!'
"For the love of…! What are you doing, you moron!?" Torchwick screamed as loud as he could. "Can you believe him, Neo!? Now we're gonna have to waste time and resources cleaning-" he kept ranting on as Hotaru kept on talking, stopping only when the businessman's true feelings towards the criminal syndicates were revealed.
'Let me make one thing clear, little girl… The moment we take control of the academies, they are dead! Shot, Burned, maimed, poisoned, hung, I DON'T CARE! I have had to tolerate them ONLY for the sake of our plan! If I no longer must see those money-hungry parasitic swine, it'll be worth it!'
The video kept on playing, making all the citizens of the city gasp in surprise; but the criminals were done after Hotaru's revelation; Roman himself was at a point where his pure rage prevented him from making coherent sentences. "That… that… stuck up, miserable…!".
Neo herself was also livid, even the grunts were now screaming and throwing their weapons in indignation.
Hidden in a bunker, Junior himself removed his mask and threw it on the ground, cursing out loud for having been played by Hotaru. Unknown to him, however, was that the twins were relieved, with their theory proven right. Now they only hoped that Jaune and Neptune would keep their promise.
The sound of anger from the rioters was enough to pull Taiyang, Coco, and Vernal from their state of shock; especially when their enemies began to leave their post in an intentional retreat, not wanting to fight for Seido anymore.
"We… we won?" Vernal asked, puzzled.
"We won!" Coco yelled as everyone in their vicinity began to cheer.
All but Taiyang, who just screamed "Ruby! Yang!" in panic, running and ignoring everything else wanting to just get to The Night Beetle as soon as possible.
The police had now dispersed; with no more rioters attacking they were free to go back on duty as others went to try and capture as much of the rioters as they could.
Vernal herself gave a look at Coco, who understood immediately; the older woman would follow Taiyang while she stayed behind assisting the repair crew with Grimm that got too close. Coco was worried about Ruby, she really was but at the same time, it was clear that this was the start of their path to victory. If that video played on every kingdom, then Seido would be done for.
"Aww, yeah!" Jax yelled as he fired his machine gun, keeping some of the incoming Tekunin drones coming from the roof at bay on the fourth floor. Johnny, in the meanwhile, was keeping others from entering the warehouse through the main door at the ground level, using the still-burning wreckage from the assault vehicle as a cover.
The idea to storm the warehouse by force worked like a charm, allowing them to be in the same place as Sektor and the signal enhancer. But soon, their numeric advantage over Sektor began to decrease when soldiers from the roof returned to help their master. Even worse, Sektor seemed to have activated a panic signal which told the Tekunin fighting on the streets to return.
Johnny and Jax had decided to keep the drones from entering while Sonya and Winter took care of Sektor. But then again, everything seemed easier said than done.
Soon the number of drones coming from the roof was so big that Jax was unable to hit them all while others were quickly fixed before standing up again. Deciding to take a radical approach, Jax stored his machine gun and headed towards the rail of the metal platform. Looking back, he saw some of the robots heading towards the roof door, "Just a bit more…" he whispered as his hand hovered just above his rocket launcher. Once the first robot stepped in, the bigger man quickly grabbed his weapon and fired a missile hitting the first robot and managing to push it back toward some others before blowing up.
Johnny, in the meanwhile, was unable to keep the incoming Tekunin at bay with just his machine gun. With every passing moment, the number of reinforcements seemed to only grow larger and larger. It came to a point where two of them reached his position, making him dodge a flying kick and jump back to prevent a roundhouse kick. "Ok then, you asked for it tin-men!" he told his opponents as he activated the brass gauntlets. The robots charged once again, activating their buzz-saws this time. Johnny blocked both horizontal chops, pushing them away and stepping back before another one could slice him. He then grabbed the other incoming saw with both hands, stopping the blade completely and then using his powers along with a backflip kick which sent the robot crashing to the ground. Once Johnny recovered, he then jumped and twisted in the air to deliver a punch, powered up with his green energy, to the robot's head smashing it open. He had no time to rejoice, however, as the other robot and a new one arrived from the back. Johnny then rolled under them as the drones impaled their saws on the now lifeless drone, and when they turned to attack once again Johnny split open his legs and placed himself to deliver a powered-up punch in the groin area of both robots stunning them. Johnny then used that slight moment to deliver more punches on the robot to his right until the joints gave out and the legs fell apart from the torso. Johnny then did a sweep kick which made the other robot fall, but Johnny caught it, made it face him, stepped on its feet, and proceeded to pull the torso, ripping it apart from the legs.
Johnny's excitement lasted for a mere moment as he saw with horror as more robots entered the warehouse and made their way towards him. Johnny then threw the torso he was holding toward the incoming crowd with the ones leading the charge moving out of the way and the ones behind them receiving the impact. The robots then separated and some changed their arms into flamethrowers, opening fire and forcing Johnny to move further back only to be immediately attacked by drones that propelled themselves in the air and then delivered a flying kick powered up by the propellers, hitting Johnny and making him fall and roll before standing on his right knee to assert his situation. His concentration was then broken when he heard and then felt the explosion from the top levels.
Fortunately, the explosion also caught the attention of the drones, and everyone saw the black cloud growing. A figure suddenly appeared from it, descending at full speed and heading toward the middle of the group of Tekunin drones. The landing was so powerful that it even created a purple energy wave, but Johnny felt relieved as he was able to distinguish Jax was the source.
The military man did not stop his attack, however. He instead grabbed one of the still-standing robots and began to punch its face until some indentations were made and then slammed it against two of the Tekunin drones that were trying to get up. He then raised the robot by its throat again before delivering a powered-up punch which slit its face apart and sent the body flying towards other drones that were getting in. Done with that, Jax then grabbed his shotgun and began firing at the front lines hitting his targets until the next lines caught on as to what was happening, jumping and moving away from the blasts' range.
Soon after, Johnny also joined in with his own fire weapon, but the Tekunin also caught on with him and began to evade his shots. In time both men were now back-to-back and slowly being surrounded by an ever-growing number of Tekunin. "Thought you were a goner, not gonna lie!" Johnny yelled as he kept shooting.
"Desperate times!" Jax yelled back, quickly glancing up to see that the smoke was gone and the fire was now blocking the entrance. "Seems to have worked though!".
Wanting to know how well their situation was, Johnny took a quick glance at his surroundings: The control room for the antenna was still well guarded by a couple of drones from Sektor's elite ring, ready to fight against whoever dared to come close. But that did not matter, as both Sonya and Winter were more than busy fighting Sektor at the same time.
Indeed, the red cyborg had just twisted in the air over two of Sonya's energy projectiles and then fired missiles from his chest which were quickly approaching the blonde woman. Unfortunately for him, however, those were intercepted by black floating glyphs, and if this fight had taught him anything it was that those had come from Winter who, as expected, was standing behind Sonya. Unexpected to both women, however, was that the missiles exploded anyway; covering their view with a layer of smoke that dissipated quickly, but revealed that their enemy was now gone.
Then, in a flash, a small portal appeared on the grate floor just in front of Winter, and from it, Sektor appeared, propelled by the rockets on his back and delivering an uppercut directly on Winter's jaw; but before she could react sector then delivered a double kick powered by the rockets in his feet, pushing Winter further back and over the rails.
The woman was not beaten yet, and the dizziness did not stop her from grabbing onto the rails of the platform directly below. Sektor knew, however, that she would not go and try to take down the antenna. Not while Sektor was still standing and could aid his drones with a quick teleport. His concentration was then broken when Sonya managed to land a punch to his face and then his chest before using the momentum to get on the floor and grab him with her legs, pulling them back to the ground and slamming Sektor's face on the grate floor.
Sektor, however, managed to roll and land on his feet, deploying two pulse-blade handles from under his forearms, activating the red laser swords, and then jumping and spinning to cut Sonya in half.
Winter was able to see what was happening below, but before she could warn Sonya about the attack, the blonde woman landed back and deployed black handles of her own attached to her energy gauntlets which extended into metal sticks that produced pink electric shocks that she used to block the incoming pulse blade.
"New weapons, General?" Sektor asked.
"Arnis, otherwise known as Kali. Filipino martial arts. I'm still young enough to learn new tricks, tin-head" she answered back before both pushed each other and proceeded to exchange blows and blocks. Sektor began by delivering thrusts and a spinning chop which Sony blocked and then got down to avoid, making the sword cut into the concrete wall, but when she tried to strike Sektor in the head he pulled the blade out to block and then delivered a vertical slice which made Sonya jump back.
Sektor wanted to use that moment to attack again, but Sonya saw his double diagonal slash incoming and quickly recovered to push the blades away with her own diagonal strikes. She then blocked more side slashes, pushing the Sektor and forcing him to spin once, and when he was facing her again, he placed both blades in front of him to block Sonya's double strike.
Both opponents looked intensely at each other and only stopped when Sonya saw Winter jumping from the level below to where they were while Sektor heard the clanking from her shoes hitting the floor. Knowing what was then going to happen Sektor pushed Sonya back with his right blade while he turned and pushed Winter's incoming slash with his left.
Both women then stepped back, unlocking their weapons from Sektors' before attacking once again, Sonya going high while Winter went low.
This complicated things for Sektor, but did not make the fight impossible. He managed to block Winter's double slash by making his left wrist spin and blocked Sonya's hit with the other blade. He then detached his torso from his legs and neck which allowed it to spin and deliver slashes which ended up pushing Sonya and Winter back. Once they were far enough from him, Sektor then returned to normal, but both women used that moment to fire their own projectiles, Sonya using her energy rings while Winter shot ice shards from floating glyphs. Sektor then used his propellers to get in the air and away from the projectiles and over Winter, shooting his flame throwers once he was directly over her. Winter managed to jump out of the way and turned around fast enough to block both of Sektor's pulse blades with her own swords.
Sonya was ready to jump through the fire and use Winter to get over Sektor and finish him, but she was forced to stop when she heard clanking from the levels above. A quick glance was enough to terrify her and was then forced to change her strategy. "Schnee, move back!" Sonya yelled, and if there was one thing both women were thankful for it was that they were adult enough to put their rivalry aside when it mattered.
Indeed, Winter jumped back, landing just in front of the now almost extinguished fire, waiting for Sektor to charge at them, but another clank, louder this time, forced him to look up and see as the fire from Jax's explosion grew and managed to break the platform which was now quickly falling towards them. The falling piece of metal slammed against the platform with such force that it broke it, taking a larger part of the grated floor with it before landing on the concrete floor and spreading more fire. Thankfully, Sonya and Winter had jumped to safety, but unfortunately, so had Sektor, who watched them moving along, thinking of where to appear to fight them again most likely.
Johnny felt glad and happy for a moment but was taken back to reality when a well-placed flying kick to the face took him down, forcing him to quickly roll before being stabbed by the pulse blades from one of the drones and standing back with a swiping kick to take down another two only to do a back flip to get away from the buzz-saws of another. Seeing his companion falling, Jax then squatted to evade a roundhouse kick from his rival. He then delivered a powerful uppercut while also attaching an explosive to the Tekunin's chin, exploding its head off and damaging another few that were next to it.
"You ok?" Jax asked once again, retrieving his own machine gun and firing again.
"I'll live!" Johnny answered back, but they both noticed that the number of Tekunin was only growing while the circle surrounding them got smaller. "But I don't like our odds…".
"Heads up!" They both heard Winter's voice say, and looking in the direction of the voice allowed them to see a ghostly-white group of Nevermores flying towards them.
Out of defense, most of the robots headed back to the doors while some of the remaining ones were rammed by the bird-like creatures. Jax and Johnny then used the distraction to shoot more of the drones and clear a path for them, especially when they saw more Nevermores destroying the supports for the platforms just above; and just as the metal grates began to fall did both men retreat.
The platforms fell with a loud bang and squashed all Tekunin drones that had not managed to leave through the door. A certain victory for both Jax and Johnny until they saw the now broken metal containers, the black liquid coming from them, and the sparking exposed wires from the now-dead Tekunin. Indeed, another explosion occurred, creating now a firewall between them and Tekunin outside.
"That takes care of them…" Johnny mentioned, not entirely glad as he then saw shadows gathering outside the windows that they crashed the assault vehicle into. Looking at the remaining factory machines and the fire, however, inspired him to elaborate a stupid, but maybe successful plan.
"I know what you are thinking Cage, and I don't like it!" Jax pointed out, making the other man look at him surprised. "Still… as dangerous as it looks, it may just work" Jax added, cocking his shotgun again before putting it over his shoulder.
"You take left, I take right!" Johnny told the other man as they each ran their own way, aiming to blow the machines and the remaining oil containers.
The yellow Triborg separated itself moments before Kung Lao's spinning hat made contact, and knowing that this particular model was made to imitate Cyrax allowed the Shaolin Monk to know the robot's next move. Kung Lao then jumped in the air and deliver a tornado kick behind him, effectively hitting the yellow Triborg three times before it fell to the ground. He then stood proudly as his hat appeared on his hand once again and prepared to slice his fallen opponent in two.
Unfortunately for him, a wall of fire then appeared between the two of them, and a quick glance to his right showed one of the drones with its flame throwers deployed and three more jumping from behind it soon after.
As a result, Kung Lao was then forced to jump back and use his hat as a shield, blocking the slashes from two different pulse blades and a buzz saw. The assault, however, proved to be too much for him to handle and ended up falling to the ground. Kung Lao waited for the cyborgs to get close to then knock them all down with a swiping kick, but a green energy net soon got ahold of him and then the yellow Triborg appeared again only to stomp on his legs before activating its buzz saw, getting ready to strike down the Shaolin.
Kung Lao really believed that would have been his end, which only made him appreciate even more when a light clone of Sun delivered a perfectly centered flying kick on this Triborg's back, sending the robot flying over Kung Lao; and by the time the drones were aware of what happened, the clone had already pushed them to the ground with a swipe on their feet thanks to its staff.
Before any of their enemies could recover, the clone then helped Kung Lao break the net and stand on his feet once again, but before the Shaolin monk could say anything he spotted two of the drones fighting another clone next to a specific tree before being destroyed. Kung Lao then pushed the light clone away and threw his hat, decapitating the drones before they could get to their objective. Kung Lao sighed in relief as his hat returned and looked at the clone again, turned, and told the light clone "We are even" in a matter-of-factly way.
The clone then seemed to have noticed something else behind Kung Lao and pushed him to the ground just as a rocket went over them. Looking at the origin of said rocket, they then saw Liu Kang jumping around to avoid fireballs from the red Triborg with the help of another light clone. A quick glance around also showed Kitana and a fourth light clone fighting the blue Triborg in the distance.
Sun had been quick in telling them how his semblance worked: he was able to create energy clones of himself that he could control, but he would need to almost stand still to concentrate, leaving him exposed to attacks. He was also able to produce a limited number of clones as the semblance seemed to consume a lot of his aura, meaning that Kitana, Kung Lao, and Liu Kang were able to fight alongside one of the clones while a fourth one kept the drones away and Sun stayed hidden on a treetop. But the clear absence of a fourth clone was telling enough for Kung Lao that one had already been defeated.
Thankfully for them, Triborg seemed to be more interested in keeping the army occupied so very few reinforcements were arriving at a time. The fact that they were trapped in the park due to the solid light barriers, making it more difficult to reach the antenna, might have also been a factor in his strategy.
Kung Lao's thoughts were then interrupted by sparking and clanking. Looking at the source, both he and the clone of Sun could see that the yellow Triborg was once again up and ready to keep fighting. Noticeable, however, was now the exposed wiring and broken pieces of armor, clear signs that the robot had received substantial damage. "Go help the others! We have wasted enough time as it is already" Kung Lao ordered and the clone immediately ran towards Kitana and the blue Triborg while the yellow one activated both buzz saws and charged. Kung Lao then began to block and step back, wanting to get close enough to the tree and assist the real Sun if it was ever required.
While the blue Triborg lacked the natural power level of either Sub-Zero or Frost, that didn't make the fight any easier for Kitana. She had learned the hard way that the machine was capable of forming ice weaponry that deflected or outright took her bladed fans from her; a nasty cut on her back reminded her not to throw the fans like flying daggers again. The arrival of Sun's clone, however, proved to be a welcome addition at first since it helped distract the robot while Kitana damaged the armor enough.
Unfortunately for them, however, the blue Triborg had realized that heavy attacks were now less advantageable to him, making him now utilize more of his mechanical enhancements to fight and then trap them with either well-placed ice bombs or a quick shot from its core. At the moment, for example, the machine had managed to stun Kitana by punching her three consecutive times in the abdomen before firing a quick ice blast which forced Kitana to jump in the air and fly back; but instead of utilizing its propellers and a giant ice sword to ram into her when she landed, as expected, the blue Triborg did a back flip, gaining some altitude thanks to said propellers, knowing that Sun's clone would try to attack him from behind with his staff. Not done, the blue Triborg then activated its back rockets and delivered a powerful flying kick which the clone was barely able to block, getting pushed back and landing on its back.
Seeing this, Kitana went to help the clone, noticing too late the ice bombs that landed next to them. The device exploded and it took out the light clone while managing to capture Kitana in a thick layer of ice. She would be able to break free, but her still conscious mind was able to see the robot perform an ice slide while creating the giant ice sword. His intentions were then clear to her: run that sword straight through her chest and abdomen before she could get out. But her saving grace came when another of Sun's clones arrived at the nick of time, delivering a double flying kick on the left side of the robot's head, sending the machine flying out of the course and rolling away. The clone did not go to help her, neither did she expect its help, and in due time she was able to break free from her prison. She then shook the cold off and looked around for her ally and the enemy, seeing them just behind some bushes.
While the noticeable dent and blinking eye meant the blue Triborg was weakened, it didn't mean the clone was winning. Indeed, the robot's arms were now covered with ice masses which he could swing around quickly, forcing the clone into defense and eventually being pushed to the ground. The robot then placed one foot over the light clone's right wrist and broke the ice clubs to create the giant sword once again, ready to drive it through the clone. It would have succeeded, had one of Kitana's fans not stabbed it on the back of its head and come out of the second optical sensor. Blinded, the robot dropped the sword and walked aimlessly for a moment while emanating a horrifying screech before the fan opened and sliced its head diagonally, silencing it and making the body fall limp and face-first into the ground with a loud thud.
From behind the bushes then emerged Kitana, recovering her bladed fan as the clone of Sun got back on its feet. A quick glance at their now fallen opponent revealed it was no longer glowing, but if what Maurice said was true, then the scrambler was not yet destroyed. "One down. Two more to-" Kitana rationalized but was then pushed to the ground by Sun's clone. She was puzzled by his actions until she saw the energy creature being impaled by harpoons and then dissipating. It was then that she remembered that despite his name, there were actually four bodies for Triborg. Getting to her feet once again, she then faced the unscratched grey Triborg.
On the other side of the park, Liu Kang was in a fierce battle of projectiles against the red Triborg. For every rocket it launched, Liu Kang answered with a fireball, making the missile explode halfway through. Worst of all, to prevent an ambush from the light clone, this version of Triborg hid inside a ring of fire.
An idea was then forming in Liu Kang's head but that was interrupted when he heard noises from behind; sure enough, three Tekunin drones had arrived with buzz saws deployed. "I have a plan, but I need you to keep them busy and do what I tell you exactly when I tell you to do it" Liu Kang instructed the light clone who then nodded. For his plan to work, the red Triborg needed to be focused enough on his destruction so as to not see what could happen.
Back to Kung Lao, his fight was going a lot smoother thanks to the heavy damage done to the yellow Triborg, unfortunately for him, more of the drones seemed to be gathering at the park, and knowing that Sun's clones were helping the others with their fights meant he would help the monkey faunus in turn, defending the tree where he was concentrating. That was the intention at first, but Kung Lao was forced to fight the yellow Triborg for a moment and then immediately stop to prevent the drones from burning or climbing the tree.
Kung Lao managed to teleport behind the yellow Triborg, but the machine anticipated that and blocked the incoming kick from the Shaolin to its head before delivering a horizontal slice that forced Kung Lao to crouch. He would have then swiped the robot to the ground, but a drone armed with flamethrowers forced him to instead roll once and then throw his hat, hitting the flamethrower's barrel and making the robot miss the shot to instead burn another of the drones.
He was pleased a first, but unfortunately for him, the yellow Triborg had already shot an energy net that captured him and made him fall. Looking up, Kung Lao was then able to see his hat in the hands of another drone.
"Your efforts are useless, human" Triborg told him, opening his chest and firing three bombs at the tree which blew up almost at contact, engulfing the entirety of the plant in fire. "Faunus threat: Neutralized," the robot said in its monotonic voice as the clone that helped Liu Kang dissipated from reality.
"Got that?" Smoke asked Jade as he delivered a round-house kick.
"If you get him to the center of the room, I can take care of that!" she answered back before delivering a shadow kick on a Tekunin drone, pushing it against another and then jumping to fight them both once again.
With that set, all that was left now was for Kenshi to be up to date. Turning around, he was able to see the blind swordsman fighting Kollector, and the only thing standing in his way to them were four drones and the grate stairs. The drones wasted no time as the first one launched itself towards Smoke, deploying its swords and spinning in the air; Smoke in turn turned into a cloud and allowed the robot to pass through. He then rematerialized as the second robot threw three consecutive punches and two kicks which Smoke blocked pushing them away with his palms except for the final kick where he grabbed the leg and then spun, throwing his adversary towards the first drone and pushing them to the ground.
He was not so lucky with the third and fourth drones, as they attacked at the same time. One pushed him back with his buzz saws while the other rolled around and swipe-kicked Smoke to the ground. The drone with the buzz saws then tried to cut Smoke in half, but the ninja managed to roll out of the way as the bladed weapon got stuck on the ground and he got back up on one knee.
Looking at his opponents, Smoke then saw they were standing in front of a ventilation grid, giving him an idea as to how to turn this fight in his favor. He immediately fired his harpoons toward the two robots, but they each dodged them easily allowing the harpoons to get stuck on the ventilation grid; once the Tekunin stood up to attack again, Smoke recoiled his harpoons which ripped apart the vent from the wall, ramming into the robots at full speed. Smoke then managed to turn into a cloud as the robots went past him and crashed into a giant piece of machinery, getting crushed in the process.
Smoke quickly reformed and got ready to fight his two remaining opponents who had gotten back up and were now facing him. The drones charged first, each with their blades drawn. Smoke, in turn, activated the trident heads and swiped away the blow toward his head and sides. He managed to kick one of the robots away and then trapped the right blade of the other robot with his tridents. He then jumped, pushing the pulse blade upwards and managing to cut into the robot's faceplate. He managed to jump over the robot and landed opposite of his opponent, and once the robot turned around Smoke was able to insert his fingers into the cuts, using his powers to cook the robot from the inside.
With that done he was now able to see the fight between Kenshi and Kollector again, but to his dismay, the Naknada had been able to hurt Kenshi on his leg with his sickle and make him fall. Knowing he needed to act fast before Kollector could dispose of Kenshi, Smoke then grabbed the remaining Tekunin drone and threw it at the Naknada, saving Kenshi from being cut to shreds while the monster was pushed down the stairs of the platform, they were fighting in.
Smoked hurried and got to Kenshi as he was getting up. He then told him of his plan just as a snarling Kollector and three more Tekunin drones arrived. "Got that?" Smoke asked.
Kenshi just readied his katana before answering. "Just give me the signal and leave the rest to me".
For years Raven prided herself on being the strongest. Acquiring the powers of a maiden only made that more evident. But just like her fight with Hotaru, it was clear that there were still beings out there that could give her a run for her money; like at that moment when she managed to get out of the way from a double ground punch from Onaga, but the airwave he created was enough to almost make her lose her balance. She then quickly turned and shot a barrage of ice spikes toward him, but he just covered himself with one of his wings. The shards managed to hurt and make a couple tears on the wings, but unfortunately, those healed almost immediately, allowing the beast to flap both his wings and create a powerful gush of wind which forced her to stick her sword on the ground so as to not get blown away.
Their battle had gone for some minutes and she managed to learn much about her opponent. Not only was fire mostly useless due to him being a dragon, but he was able to receive projectiles without being hurt much; making her come to the realization that the lighting she used when she arrived only worked because he, literally, did not see it coming.
When Onaga was done flapping, she propelled herself towards his legs, managing to deliver a deep cut on his knees, splashing blood in all directions and forcing him to the ground. Her victory was short-lived, however, as his legs began to heal and the monster stood up again, laughing at her. "Is that it?" he asked before inhaling deeply.
Raven didn't have to be an expert to know what was coming next, so she prepared herself by creating an ice blast to fight back against his fire breath. Indeed, both fire and ice met and resulting in a cloud of vapor. Raven was able to hold her position, but unfortunately for her, Onaga was able to move forward without stopping his fire breath. Halfway through, Raven was forced to one knee in order to hold her ground, but with every step, the force only grew until Onaga was towering over her.
The vapor cloud became so dense both opponents could only see each other's silhouette until Raven was finally overwhelmed and his fire breath covered her; but when the mist cleared, there was no burned carcass. His confusion ended when he felt the pain of a cut going across his spine, and looking back, he was able to see Raven, her eyes emanating fire and her feet covered with fire. Before she could cause any more harm, he then turned on his left foot to punch her with his right; a blow she managed to block with her sword and hold thanks to the ice that now covered her feet and stuck her to the ground.
Onaga was not done, as he then punched with his left towards her abdomen and then another one with his right to her head, all blocked by her katana; that is until he threw another left punch which he opened as she blocked, grabbing the blade and then kicking her on her torso, breaking the ice that held her in place and sending her flying away.
Her pride, however, prevented her from letting go of her weapon, but the grip Onaga had on the blade was also strong and, in the end, the katana ended up breaking with Raven holding the grip attached to a small section of the blade while Onaga had the larger part of the blade. He quickly discarded it and she saw in despair as the blood dripping from his claw quickly stopped and stood as if his back had never been cut open. Despite that, he did not charge toward her. Instead, they both were able to hear the groans coming from the still-unconscious Yang. They both looked in the girl's direction for a moment before looking back at each other, both figuring out the other's intention.
Raven was faster and immediately got in front of Yang, but that did not bother Onaga as he was still charging at them at full speed, roaring all the way. Raven tried to stop him again bombarding him with fire, ice, or even lightning, but of course, he just got pushed back a little before continuing forward. Carrying Yang also seemed like a useless solution as Raven would be unable to fight while Onaga just followed them around. All things considered; a retreat to get her daughter to safety and then return to help her brother seemed like the only logical solution for the moment.
"RAWWWWR!" she then heard before noticing Onaga just walking through her hail storm and approaching her fast. She then looked at the broken sword in her hand, the only way she had to escape, but Onaga would get to them before she could create a portal to Taiyang. She was not sure if this was the best solution, but there was no other way out. She stopped attacking with one arm and charged the remaining of her weapon with electricity. Onaga did not care he just kept charging and was just about to get to them, and just at the last moment, she stopped the hail storm.
Onaga almost fell forward, not expecting that to happen; and much less that the fireball that Raven then threw had so much power behind it that it was able to send him flying backward, but even worse than that, was the pain he felt on the center of his chest, and looking up, he was then able to see the hilt of Raven's katana sticking out of his chest. The horrid pain then turned into horror as only one thought went through his mind: 'Does she know?'.
Raven, on the other hand, was just grateful that her surprise attack worked. She then went on to create an ice blade using her maiden powers and was ready to put her plan in motion until she heard an explosion coming from the kitchen and the doors slamming open as two bodies came flying through them. Raven managed to jump out of the way but the bodies just flew up to the roof. Upon a second inspection, she was then able to see they were her second least favorite person in the world, Hotaru, and Ironwood's pet project, the 'Penny' robot. "What the…?" was all she asked in disbelief as she then saw two others walking out of the kitchen, Ruby and Jaune. "Good, she is alive…" Raven then sighed in relief.
Loud thuds brought her back to reality as she then saw an angry Onaga throw away the hilt of her katana away while looking at Hotaru and Penny. More interesting, however, was that the hole where her projectile got stuck was still open and bleeding. Even better, he seemed to be hurt. "He has a weakness?" she asked in disbelief, remembering the tale of how he was poisoned and killed and that most poisons affected the heart 'which means...' She at first thought before the realization came to her. "He has a weakness!".

My most humble apologies for the delay. Real world caught up with me.
I'll say it once, I'll say it again: do not worry, this story will have an ending.
