New idea.
"Butters, you are GRRROUNDED!"
"Aww hamburgers…"
Whimpered as the boy who got grounded walked up to his room. The young boy has a small tuft of bright blond hair on the top of his head and wears a turquoise jacket and dark green pants. His name is Leopold Stotch, also known as Butters by everybody.
Butters is a 4th grader resident of South Park, Colorado. Butters is a sweet and naive little boy who just went on in his day-to-day life, going to school, playing and spending time with his friends and family… though, his life is anything but perfect. The boy has the most distorted life as far as he could remember and more things come on his way, from being exploited by his classmates to being abused by his parents. And having low self-confidence to stand up for himself makes it worse. The poor boy tries to stay positive at times and does what his parents tell him to do, but it all goes back to another worst time.
He gets grounded so often by his parents for many reasons, either a misunderstanding, worse timing or his parents' exaggerations and selfishness. His parents' unreasonable and harsh strictness affects his psychology, gaining psychological problems, and they often threaten to ground him. Not only do they abuse him, they often neglect him, and at times when he was in situations that caused him pain they refuse to recognize their faults.
And at that moment, he got grounded again for something he did. He enters his room and sits beside his bed.
"Why does it always happen to me?" He wondered out loud. He picks up his toy xylophone that was near and plays a little melody, nothing specific.
Suddenly, the keys start to brighten in a rainbow glow and play a rhythm by themselves. Each second, the pace of the rhythm quickly increases and the sound changes to a dramatic play by other instruments, until the keys release rainbow streams. The rainbow streams rise in the air before swirling around together to form a whirlpool of light before its speed increases when…
"Heeey~ Butters!"
The whirlpool pops as two humanoid creatures appear and greet the startled boy. One of them is a man with frizzy light blue hair, and blue eyes, he wears a teal-striped shirt and black pants. The second is a female with bold-cut orange hair and orange eyes, and she wears a dress shirt and black pants. But what those two have in common is that both have insect wings on their backs, small floating crowns above their heads and they each hold a hand with a star at the tip.
The man hovered down to Butters' level and introduced himself. "I'm Lucius!"
The woman followed suit. "And I'm Frederica!"
"And weeeee're…" The two backed away from Butters, then a huge sign of 'Fairy Godparents' appeared with lights as they declared. "Your Fairy Godparents!"
"Wow!" Butters wowed before his mood went down. "Eh… wait a minute, I already have godparents."
"No, we're your Fairy godparents, silly." Frederica corrected him.
"Meaning, we're magic." Lucius added.
"Really? Oh wow!" Butters wowed again. "I didn't know my parents knew about fairies and asked them to be my magic godparents."
Both fairies laugh at the boy's statement, and Frederica replies. "Oh no, they don't."
"They don't? So… why are you here?" Butters asked, wondering why they would come all the way.
"We want to help you." Lucius responded.
"We grant wishes." Frederica responded as well, with her wand glowing.
"Really?! L-Like genies?" Butters was getting excited.
"Sort of." Lucius chuckled.
"Except is not limited to three wishes, you can wish as many times you want." Frederica explained.
"As many as I want?!" Butters asked with excitement.
"Well, not all. There are rules that you can't wish for." Frederica stated, raising her wand as it glowed.
Out of nowhere, a large purple book with the letters 'Da Rules' in gold appeared in midair before falling to the floor, hard.
"Woooow, this is a huge book." Butters wowed at the enormous size.
"Well, it contains many rules, that's why." Lucius replied.
"Butters?! Butters?!" But then the boy and two fairies heard the call of Butters' father from the other side of the door.
Suddenly, Butters' dad, Stephen Stoch, enters his son's room.
"What is all the racket?!" Stephen demands.
Butters, already frightened by his father, stutters in response. "Oh, ah… I w-was just talking t-to Lucius and Frede…" When he turned around he saw that the fairies were gone. "Huh? Where did they go?"
"Who? Did you invite people?! You are not allowed, you are supposed to be grounded, mister!" Stephen scolded, harshly.
Unknown to the father and son, the two fairies have transformed into dolls as soon as they feel that Butters' father is coming in. They observe the scene as they stand still like toys.
"What an angry dad." Lucius said to his wife. Looking at the father, he thought he was a bit exaggerated when scolding his son.
"You're telling me." Frederica replied, staring at the frightened boy. She felt guilty for suddenly leaving him to deal with the scolding, but rules are rules. "Poor Butters, he does need our help more than ever."
"B-b-but I di-di-didn't invite anyone, dad. They j-just appeared in my room and- and- they just disappeared the moment you entered my- my room." Butters respond despite being scared.
"Obviously they were in your head." Stephen retorted, believing that was it.
"In my head? You mean, like imaginary friends?" Butters started to think that it might be the only logical.
"Well, you better stop using your imagination because imaginary friends do count as visitors!" Stephen ordered.
"Y-yes sir." Butters lowered his head.
"And no loud noises! I heard something big that hit the floor from downstairs!" Stephen was referred to Da Rules book that hit the floor earlier and he heard it from the first floor through the ceilings. He shut the door, hard, leaving a fidgeted Butters alone.
"Boy, I must be messed up if I let my imagination run wild." Butters said out loud.
"Nope. You're not messed up."
"Waaaah!" Butters screamed in surprise. He quickly turns to see the very same fairies from earlier.
"Shhh! You don't want your dad to hear you?" Lucius shushed.
"Wh-wh-wha?! Is that you, Lucius and Frederica?" Butters asked, lowering his voice so that his dad didn't hear.
"That's right!" The couple responded.
"Are you.. Really real?"
"Right again!" The couple responded again.
"But where did you two go?" Butters asked, wondering where they were.
"Sorry about ditching you, but we can't be seen by other humans." Lucius replied.
"Why?"
Da Rules book magically appeared again and floated next to the fairies.
"Is one of the rules, and the bigger one of all; should a fairy Godparent be discovered by humans other than their Godchild, they will go away forever." Frederica quoted.
"Away… forever…" Butters repeated the words, taken in by the important rule.
"That's right." Lucius replied.
"So, is it your responsibility to keep us a secret." Frederica exclaimed.
"Wow. Keeping my Fairy Godparents secret from other people is a huge responsibility." Butters pokes his index fingers together in nervousness, but then he shows his resolve. "Okay! I won't tell a single soul about you guys, even if they have to torture me!"
"I dig your guts, sport!" Lucius admires the boy's determination.
"So… um, how does the whole wishing thing work?" Butteres asked.
"Oh, it's simple! Just say 'I wish' for anything you want and we grant it!" Frederica explained.
"Oh, it's simple! Just say 'I wish' for anything you want and we grant it!" Frederica explained.
"Well, that's easy to follow. Ok…" Butters readied himself. "I wish… I've not grounded anymore."
"Oooh~." Both fairies looked at each other nervously.
"W-what's wrong?" Butters asked.
"Sorry champ, but we can't grant that wish." Frederica replied.
"But you said…"
"Is one of the rules in the book." Frederica waves her wand to open the Da Rules and reads a page. "And according to Da Rules; a Godchild cannot wish to be ungrounded, as it is a form of a lesson to learn."
Butters lowered his head. "Aww hamburgers."
"But what did you do to get yourself grounded?" Lucius asked.
"I came home with a mustard stain on my shirt." Butters responded, pulling a corner of his shirt to show a stain.
Both fairies blinked. They wait about five seconds for other details.
"And… that's it?" Frederica asked.
"Yeah." Butters replied.
"Wow, not only is he an angry dad but he's also unreasonable. I mean, getting a stain on your shirt is hardly worth grounding." Lucius stated. "You truly do need our help."
"How about wishing for something else to pass the time, sweetie?" Frederica suggested.
"Well… what the heck, is just one night till tomorrow so might as well. Just gonna wish for something that doesn't make noises." Butters thinks for a moment. He thought of one. "I wish I had a picture book. A picture book where the pictures move like animated cartoons."
"That's very original." Lucius commented. Both fairies smiled, raising their glowing wands.
Poof!
A small magic dust cloud popped before appearing on Butters' hands in a picture book. He was taken by surprise and impressed by the action. "Oh wow!"
"One moving picture book with an original story." Frederica proclaimed.
Butters looks at the cover, it depicts a male character in a farmer outfit and holding a hoe but then the image moves, the man took off his clothes to reveal an adventurer's outfit and pulled out a sword. And the title says The Farmer Who Adventures. "Wooooow~, the picture moved!" Butters exclaimed excitedly before opening the book and as he did the picture moves as he reads.
The story depicts one farmer who one day decided to find meaning in life, so he sets out on a journey. Along the way, the farmer encounters many mystical and dangerous enemies that he had to use a sword to fight through, meet new people, exploring many areas. And the pictures move as the story progresses, each time Butters turns a page and the boy truly likes both the moving picture and the story.
"...thus the Farmer decides to continue his journey as long as lives, for his story doesn't end like that. -The End." Butters finished reading out loud as the moving picture depicted the Farmer walking towards the sunset before he closed it. "What a great story! It was more entertaining than regular books."
"Well, it's not like they make picture books with images that actually move." Lucius stated.
"And that Blue Apple cider the Farmer had sounded and looked tasty." Butters commented, feeling a craving for the drink. "I wish I had that drink."
The fairies smile, and raise their glowing wands.
Poof!
An exploded magic dust cloud appeared on Butters' hand, before revealing he was holding a glass of a blue drink.
"Wow! What is this?" Butters asked, surprised by the sudden drink.
"Blue Apple cider." Frederica replied.
"That's what you wish for." Lucius added.
"I did?" Butters soon realized that he did say 'I wish'. "Oh yeah."
Butters looked at the drink, shrugged, brought it to his lips and took a sip. "Oh wow! This is good! Exactly what the book described it!" Excitedly exclaimed as he began to drink it, slowly, to savour the flavour.
Finished it before the empty glass magically disappeared, but then the boy thought about it for a moment before he made a decision. "Here's my next wish; I wish I had a Strawberry flavoured Kit Kat."
"One candy bar…" Lucius raises his wand.
"... coming right up!" Frederica finished.
Ding!
A Kit Kat bar magically appeared on Butters' hand. "Oh boy!" The boy gleefully tears part of the wrapper and breaks a piece before taking a bite.
"This is really delicious! This can only be found in Japan, and I always wanted to try one of their brands." Butters happily exclaimed, taking another piece. "Speaking off… I wish I had a Raspberry flavour one."
Ding!
The Raspberry flavour Kit Kat magically appeared on Butters' other hand when the fairies granted his wish.
"Yeppy!" Tearing the wrapper and biting a piece. After going for the second piece and eating it, Butters went back to his strawberry one before breaking two pieces and doing the same with the other one. But instead of eating the pieces, he presented them to the fairies.
"Here, you two each get pieces." Butters hands out his remaining Kit Kat pieces.
"Awww~" The fairy godparents were so touched by Butters' kindness that they happily accepted them, and they ate one piece.
"Mmmm~ so sweet!" Lucius exclaimed, taking another bite of the Raspberry flavour.
"They should make these flavours globally." Frederica commented, eating the Strawberry flavour.
After they ate the last pieces, they spoke to Butters.
"Thanks for sharing them with us, sweetie." Frederica thanked him.
"I have a feeling that we'll have lots of fun as your godparents." Lucius said.
The fairies somehow feel lucky to have such a godchild like Butters, they can only imagine the possibilities of what Butters will do.
"Aw, you're welcome. And I also feel like I'm gonna have lots of fun with you guys." Butters proclaimed.
"In fact, I may have another wish for tomorrow..."
Morning came to the town of South Park. And the Stotch family is wide awake and preparing to start their day.
Butters' parents, Stephen and Linda, were in the kitchen as the father read today's newspaper and the mother prepped breakfast. Their son walks in the kitchen after coming down.
"Morning mom and dad." Butters cheerfully greeted his parents.
"Good morning Butters." Linda returns her son's greeting.
"Morning Butters." Stephen did the same.
Butters took a seat, sitting across from his father.
The man lowered his newspaper, asking his son. "So, have you learned your lesson last night, young man?"
"Yes sir." Butters responded.
"Well, as long as you understand that is all it is to it." Stephen said, returning to his newspaper.
"Keep in mind that cleanliness is an important aspect of life, we talk about it many times." Linda added, placing a plate of scrambled eggs and bacon in front of Butters.
"I know."
"Eat your breakfast, or you'll miss the bus." Linda said.
"Or we'll ground you." Stephen added, sounding more like a threat.
"Yes mam, yes sir." Butters responded, starting to eat his breakfast.
After finishing his breakfast, Butters is off to school after saying goodbye to his parents, leaving them in the house.
"Well, I'm better off to work." Stephen said, getting off the chair.
"See you soon, honey."
As Stephen went to the garage, with the keys in hand, he opened his car's door and went inside. And as soon as he put the key in and turned it… his car did the unusual thing.
Blr~blrblrblrblrblr-!
"What the-?!" Stephen was startled by the unusual sound instead of the engine sound. "What the hell is going on?!"
He turned off the engine as the strange sound stopped. Stephen had a confused look, he turned his head left and right before his eyes looked back at the key, he reached it and then turned it.
Blr~blrblrblr-!
"Wha-! OW!" Stephen jumps but hits his head on the ceiling. He gets out of the car, letting the goofy sound, he goes to the door and calls out his wife.
"Linda! Did you by any chance use my car?!"
"No, hon." Linda replied coming out of the kitchen. "Is there something wrong?"
"The engine of my car is making a strange sound, like something out of a… whacky machine from low-budget goofy tv shows for kindergarteners."
"What?" Linda asked.
"Here, come and hear this."
Stephen urged his wife to come to the garage she did soon, and once she was inside she can hear the strange sound coming from the car.
"What… What's wrong with your car?" Linda asked.
"I don't know. It starts making that sound the moment I turn on the engine." Stephen replied.
"But what could possibly be making the car to make that sound?" Linda wondered.
"I don't know. Bu-but I'll bring it to the garage after work, I really need to get going." Stephen said before going inside the car.
"Are you sure you want to drive all the way to work with that… sound?" Linda asked in concern.
"Linda, I don't have time to figure out what's making this… sound, I really need to get to work or that new vice-chief will be on my ass." Stephen replied, fasting his seat belt and pressing the remote button to open the garage door.
He drives his car backwards to come out of the garage, switching the gearshift to move forward, he drives through the street with the cartoonish sound being heard. As he drives, Stephen does his best to ignore the sound, he comes to the shopping street as a couple of people who are out hear it. When the man saw the traffic light turn red, pressed the brake to slow down and stop, but…
Vreeeel~!
"What the-?!" Stephen was agape from a new strange sound. His car makes another sound when he hits the brake?
He noticed three to four bystanders staring at his car with strange looks on their faces, not just the engine but the brake as well.
"Got- Gotta keep forward!" Stephen said with determination.
When the light turns green, Stephen steps on it. He keeps on driving in hopes he doesn't stop by another traffic light. But then, a jogger, who didn't notice Stephen, steps into the road before the man hits the brake, making the ridiculous sound again.
VREEELLLLL~!
The jogger was startled, not only by the sudden stop of the car but by the weird sound as well. "... what the fuck?"
"HEY! Watch it pal! Look on both sides!" Stephen angrily said, he pressed the horn…
HO-HEEEER!
Both Stephen and the jogger were startled by, yet another, sound. Stephen, widened eyes, and stare at the steering wheel, slowly puts his hand on the center before pressing…
HO-HEEEER!
"AAAAAAAAAAHHH!" Stephen shouted in terror. He steps on it and steers the wheel, moving forward and turning away from the confused jogger. The man increased his pace as he passed through several stop signs and the cars at the sides stopped to prevent from hitting him.
Meanwhile at the school bus, sitting on a seat, Butters looks through the window but then his eyes turn towards his bag next to him but then the bag opens to reveal two hamsters, but the oddest thing is one of them has yellow fur and the other light blue fur, one another odd thing is that they have little crowns above their heads.
"Do you think my dad was surprised by the sounds that his car makes?" Butters asked the hamsters.
"Duh, you did wish for it." The orange hamster responded.
"And quote; 'I wish my dad's car would make funny sounds. Sounds whenever his engine runs, hits the brake and presses the horn'." The light blue hamster quoted.
The talking hamsters are actually Lucius and Frederica in disguise. Butters learned that fairies can shape-shift so they can blend in if not being seen by humans, even for convenient uses. And this morning they turned into hamsters to hide in Butters bag, they had the obligation to follow him as his godparents to grant his wishes.
And this morning, before taking breakfast, Butters made a prank wish on his father's car that'll make funny noises, it is his way to pay him back for grounding him last night.
"S-sorry, I really can't stop thinking about the prank on my dad. Just thinking about it makes me want to laugh. Gihihihihi!" Butters chuckling. He finally gets back at his dad for last night.
"Yeah! I can only imagine the sounds making him go crazy." Lucius exclaimed, agreeing.
"Though, don't you think it is best to unwish it before he finishes work?" Frederica asked, suggesting.
"Why?" Butters asked.
"Well, because you know if it truly does make him go crazy, he'll surely be in a traffic accident, or worse; at this very moment." Frederica replied, with worry in her voice.
Butters' eyes widened in realization. "Ah… I didn't think of that. I don't want my dad to get in an accident, even though he grounded me last night, but I don't want that. I wish his car would stop making funny sounds."
The fairies-in-hamsters-disguise raises their wands and uses their magic to cancel the wish.
"Done!" Both fairies exclaimed.
"Thanks."
"God damnit!" An angry voice is heard from behind Butters and the fairies-in-hamsters-disguise that gained their attention. "I got another spam! Damn it, why the hell do they still do this?"
"Spams?" But then Butters has an idea. "This gives me another, safer version, pranking idea wish."
"Oh, I like where this is coming." Lucius said.
"I wish that my dad would receive annoying spams for the whole day."
"Well, that's much safer." Frederica commented, she and Lucius raised their wands and granted the boy's wish.
Here on now, this marks the start of Butters' improved life thanks to his Fairy Godparents.
A South Park x Fairly Oddparents crossover.
Fairy Godparents are assigned to godchildren who are miserable, so which of the kids of South Park do you think is truly miserable?
The answer is Butters.
The boy is too sweet and innocent to be mistreated by his parents and classmates. And we've seen what he went through, and he didn't deserve them. He may have his good moments and rare moments where he stands up, but I believe his life deserves to get better and I give him fairy godparents.
The fairies are my OCs, I wouldn't give Cosmo and Wanda. And Lucius and Frederica has their own personalities, but has responsibility similarities of the canon fairies, well especially Wanda.
Before you ask; the rule about not being grounded anymore is an original of mine. I mean, Timmy had many opportunities to wish to be ungrounded but we've never seen him do so, so I figure there must be a rule of not wishing for it. They may be wish-granting fairies but they are also godparents, which is their job to raise their godchildren, so allowing the children to get ground would teach them lessons. So Butters would have to pass the time with wishes or finding ways to be ungrounding.
This is just a one-shot idea and a prologue, but if I decided to make it official I'll write chapters with themes and wishes, and ideas of paybacks Butters will wish for and learns moral lessons.
