So… We're finally here. Finally, we've touched upon the forbidden lands of this… accursed realm. I can already hear them… oh god, oh fuck, oh shit. Well… I guess we're just gonna have to deal with it. I've activated my flame shields, my ears and eyes are closed, and this cave will not clear itself. So, time to dunk myself into this very vocally Toxic Fandom the only way I know how… by ignoring everything!
Now, for those who remember what I did with the last world, I had certain songs that acted as Openings and Endings. Why? Because I'm a massive dork who is also obsessed with anime (gee, who could've guessed that one).
So, for those who are interested and want to know what this particular part of the RWBYverse's opening and ending song will be (which may hint at what I'm trying to do going forward) here is the first of many openings for this rather… large stretch of the story (Cause oh boy, this first arc alone is nearly 15 chapters long, and buddy, that's not even scratching the surface…. Fuck)
GOTM Opening 3 (RWBY) – HOLLOW HUNGER by OxT.
GOTM Ending 3 (RWBY) – Just Awake by Fear, and Loathing in Los Vegas.
Now, we still have a couple more things I want to go over before we start the chapter. Firstly, regarding Jasper, full name Jasper Quartz. He is not my character, but Shine375's character. If you're reading this, thank you for letting me use your character in this story, by the way. I don't typically accept Ocs that aren't mine into this story or any other story for that matter, but in this case, it was needed because I didn't know what to do, and seeing as he was offering…
Expect more of them to pop up, btw. And, if you want to submit an OC, DM me on Discord at DeathlyJazzHands #3106. Note, however, that I will only accept 3 Ocs per person, and they cannot be too overpowered. Make them balanced. Make them fair. And most importantly make them interesting otherwise I won't pick them. Period.
Also, I will be going very headcanon-y when it comes to certain aspects of RWBY. Namely the Faunus. I feel like they were such a missed opportunity in both RWBY and IceQueendom (Nightmare Grimm will not be making an appearance here, by the way. I didn't like them, that's why) So, I will be expanding upon them, that way they will feel like their own species rather than just humans with animalistic traits. If you don't like it, then you've been warned.
So, now that that is out of the way, let's hop into my response to the reviews/comments.
[My Response To Reviews/Comments]
(Qoutev) Dead phone: I mean, to be fair, I do that a lot so I can see what you mean. And it's fine, all you gotta do is watch a couple of breakdown videos on the world (which not even the creators can get right half the time). In other words, the only things you need to know are the basics. Now, as for the leftover people, they are the rest of D.I.C.E. The rest of Class 77 – B, and Ayaka from Sayaka's idol group.
(Qoutev) TACO SENSEI: The reason why she is allowed into Heaven is because of what she did as Jack. I have not explained who Jack was, but there is a very specific, very good reason why The Almighty would allow Jolyne into Heaven again if she were to die again. I'm not gonna spoil it here, but it is a really good reason.
As for the whole bit with Jamol and his Faunus Slaves, while it is exceedingly rare in the universe for Faunus slavery to occur, at least, from what canon tells us (because they don't tell us jack shit most of the time) it's not uncommon for there to be faunus slaves.
So yes, the RWBYverse is that fucked up, it's just glossed over because the creators can't and or won't elaborate. But, at least from what I've seen in terms of fanfic (that isn't 90% smut) Faunus Slaves are widely considered Fanon by most people, and that's typically to add World Building to what feels like a dead, and boring universe due to how focused it is on Team RWBY and JNPR most of the time.
As for Jolyne having some explaining to do… yeah, that's pretty obvious. The drama that I have planned for that is going to be, well, interesting, to say the very least.
(Qoutev) JammyJam: Yes, Jamol is… a bastard, that much is for sure. But the others aren't even remotely as bad. Jamol is… a special case, to say the very least. As for what he's done to the RWBYverse during his time there, well, you'll get to see his effects on the world sooner rather than later.
(Guest) Reader 451: Well, I mostly envision God as a Grandpa trying his hardest to be who everyone sees him as, and… yeah, honestly, that kind of old man is typically the best kind. Means you lived a full life and all that nonsense. The less we talk about Jamol, the better.
Now, with those out of the way, let's get into the shit!

[Jolyne Brooks]
A groan escaped her lips as she felt the solid, grassy ground underneath her body. This was the second time she was waking up on the ground, and it was something she wasn't a really big fan of. As she slowly began to sit up, she noticed how the world around her was a miserable grey. At first, she was confused, until she remembered the beginning of her first world.
Time was stopped, most likely by Daimen. A part of her believed that it was most likely so that she didn't get her shit kicked in the moment she drew her first breath. Maybe that was a problem in the past. Whatever. Either way, Jolyne was thankful this time, rather than annoyed as she had been before. It not only allowed her to gain her bearings, but it also allowed her to look at the area that she found herself in.
The first thing she noticed was that she had found herself in a forest of some kind. Thick brush, large trees, and a dark starry sky were what she was greeted with. Some birds were flying away from trees and considering she could see Rantaro off to her right, with the two children right behind him, though that didn't matter, she assumed that it was because they had just fallen through the portal that Daimen had dropped them through, causing a disturbance.
For a moment, she was worried about the children, but that worry subsided. She knew that Daimen wouldn't drop them far off the ground, so if they were hurt, it wasn't exactly going to be more than a scratch. As long as they were fine, then she was fine.
And seeing as they were fine, that meant she could get right down to business. The quicker she got this over and done with, the better. "Whelp, let's get this over and done with. Mono, if you would…" Jolyne murmured as a familiar screen appeared in front of her.
[Welcome To The RWBY Universe! A place where a former married couple are at war, with the entire fucking world at stake, and it's spurred on by two dipshit Gods who do not know how to God right – Note added by Daimen. A-hem, my apologies for that. Anyway. You've been through this song and dance before, so, I'll speed this up a little bit.
Warning: When picking a Faction, your race WILL be changed to match it! (you will not lose your spells from your previous class, but you will cease to get spells from the [Renagade] class if you select a new class! (Hint: you're not being given a choice, lmao)]
.
[Pick a New Class!]
Hunter/Huntress: An expert at combat, survival, and scouting the land! People will generally view you as a good person, despite what your actions may speak of you, they will justify it as you being harsh or something along those lines. But, some crimes are unforgivable. So be wary of that. Picking this class will give you a new skill [Survival] as well as gives stat increases for Atk, and Def, as well as allow you to gain points for Charisma as you level up (Plus 1 per level). You will, however, lose 15% of your MG Atk by picking this class.
.
Bandit: Much like a Hunter, they are really good at survival and scouting the land, however, swap out combat with pick-pocketing. People will naturally distrust you, however, not all people will distrust you. Some will sympathize with you due to the fact you've had to become a bandit, due to how cruel the world is. Although, other bandits might try and attack you, and it's usually on sight, so be wary of that. Picking this class will give you a new skill [Pick Pocket] as well as give you stat increases for Crit, and Endurance, as well as allow you to gain points for Luck as you level up (plus 1 per level). You will, however, lose 15% of your Def by picking this class
.
Witch: A class that can only be picked if you are proficient in spells, and you have, at the bare minimum, 5 or more spells and have high enough Mg stats [You match the required criteria]. You do not gain a new skill by picking this class, however, you will gain access to a new item known as The Grimmoire. To learn more about the Grimmoire, select this class. People will view you as mysterious, and be skeptical of you due to the strange aura that surrounds your person. It may even make some hostile toward you, so be wary of that. Picking this class will also give you a stat increase for your Mg Crit and Mg Def stats, as well as allow you to gain points for your Faith stat as you level up (plus 1 per level). You will, however, lose 15% of your HP by picking this class.
Warning: Picking this class will make certain relationships more difficult to create and harbour. By picking this class, you will be basically putting yourself in Hard Mode (for the second time).
Jolyne didn't even have to think twice. She had already specked this far into being a mage, and while those other two skills would be interesting, and while she didn't want to lose 15% of her HP, she also wanted more Mg Crit so that she could do more damage to things using her spells. As long as it boosted her magic stats, she would take it and then some.
And so, with that in mind, she picked the Witch Class.
Yes, she was very aware that she was doing what was the equivalent of hard mode, again, but quite frankly, she didn't care. And, it went well the last time, so she was very confident in herself that she could do it again. What could possibly go wrong this time around? She was far stronger than she was before, had kick-ass abilities, had an overpowered weapon, and to make things better, she had a group of people that she could rely on should the goings get tough.
Now, granted, she had no idea where the rest of everyone else was, and once she had got her bearings, she'd try and make contact with them, but when she did find them, she would be able to call upon them when the goings get tough.
[Congratulations! You have selected the class [Witch] and removed the class [Renegade]! 15% of your HP has been deducted. (26,225 HP to 22,291 HP). You will no longer gain any new spells from The Class: Renegade.
New Item gained: Grimmoire! [Demonic] (Lv. 1/1)
[Description: The Grimmoire gives you the ability to summon The Creatures of Grimm to fight by your side. Wild Grimm will not listen to you, however. Only the ones you summon will listen to you. Depending on how powerful the creature is, the more mana and HP it will consume for you to create it. Be careful in how you wish to use this power. The more Creatures of Grimm you summon, the stronger ones you can unlock to use in combat. The more powerful the Grimm, the more HP and Mana they require to summon.]
In Jolyne's hand appeared a black book of sorts, with what appeared to be a white mask on the cover, with red etchings within the mask. It looked… beautiful. The mask that she stared at was full of nothing but hatred toward whoever looked at it, and with it came primal fear of the unknown. It felt like she was staring at something that represented evil incarnate, and whereas most people would see that evil, and call it cursed, she saw it as… intriguing more than anything else.
Of course, it was purely an image, and not a real mask. It wasn't as if she could pick it up and wear it. But, if she could, she would. Mainly because A. It looked cool, and B. It probably gave her some sort of stat buff.
The book itself was thick, easily 1000 pages long if it were to open up. It had leather latches on the side of the binding that allowed it to open, with runes that emitted violent black energy. She couldn't pinpoint where the energy came from, only that it was as if darkness had manifested itself in book form for her to use.
Well… it was a Demonic item. It only made sense that it originated from darkness rather than light. She was glad that she now had this item. It gave her something new to play with, and something far better than her Abominations. Not that she didn't like her Abominations, but if these consumed HP and Mana to summon, they had to be better, right?
Although, if she did have one gripe, it was that she had lost a pretty significant portion of her health to acquire this item. But, then again it wasn't as if it was the end of the world because of that. She would die in fewer hits, but she still had 22K HP. That was the same amount of HP of high-level enemies in the last world that wasn't either mini-bosses or Bosses.
Which, now that she thought about it… how high of a level would the enemies here be? This was a secondary world, after all. And, this Grimmoire mentioned "The Creatures of Grimm." Chances are that those were enemies that she'd have to kill. And chances were that they were way more dangerous than the thugs of the Yakuza, or humans for that matter.
"Moving on..."
[With your new class picked. It's time to pick your faction! Choose wisely, as this will massively affect how this world goes for you. Your main race [Human] may also change depending on which faction you choose. So, as said previously, choose wisely. Unlike with classes, you will not lose your previous faction. As one can be within multiple factions from other worlds (same world multiple factions do not apply to this.)]
.
[Good Karma – The Wizard: For those who wish to ensure humanity and faunus kind thrive for eons to come, picking this faction is the right choice. By picking this you will have a chance to stay [Human] and a chance to become a [Faunus], although the faunus selection is completely random! You will also gain a 25% EXP bonus when defeating all Creatures of Grimm. (All Evil Karma will be counted toward your reputation with those who are part of The Wizard faction. They will only fully trust you once you balance out your Evil Karma with Good Karma).]
.
[Neutral Karma/Good Karma – Regular Civilian: You get what it says on the tin. You will be part of the regular workforce. You can, of course, merge into the other factions. But, this does not change much. The only thing this changes is that there is a 50% chance you will either remain [Human] or become a [Faunus]. You will also gain more respect with [The White Fang] if you do become a [Faunus] through this choice.]
.
[Neutral Karma/Evil Karma – The White Fang: Depending on how you see the world, you can choose to be part of the two different sects of The White Fang. The extremists, or those who simply want equal rights. Depending on your choices, you will join either side. This will heavily influence your view of this world. By choosing this faction, you will become a [Faunus] of your choosing. Those of the region of Atlas and those who come from there will look down upon you with the exception of General James Ironwood, Winter Schnee, Penny Polindenia and Doctor Polindenia.
.
[Evil Karma – The Witch: For those who want to see the world be consumed by darkness and death. For those who wish to watch the world burn for the rest of eternity, join The Witch. Humanity and Faunus kind were a mistake. It is time to purge the earth of all life. Bow before The Queen of Grimm, The Witch, the rejector of Light, and become one of her favoured servants. Those who do not… they will not survive the purge. By choosing this faction, you will gain 25% Exp bonus when defeating and killing any human or faunus. You will gain a negative reputation with everyone outside of the Witch's court. You will also turn into a [Half-Grimm] by choosing this.
Jolyne completely ignored the Evil Karma option, namely because she had limits. The apocalypse? Sure, fine, whatever. Besides, that world had it coming. That world was a shit hole, and it had tried to have her killed multiple times for no reason at all whatsoever. So, in that sense, it was karmic justice for those the world had hurt.
But, complete and total destruction of the human and… whatever a faunus was, race? Absolutely not. Not to mention everyone would hate her, and that was just something she wasn't about to do. She quite liked people, you know, liking her. She also was quite a big fan of not being subjugated by some random person whom she didn't even know the name of.
As for the two Neutral options, the only one she was even remotely interested in was the one about The White Fang. Being a regular civilian was just not it. That was bland and boring, especially when it came to everyday life. She lived for excitement—somewhat. She had her limits, of course, but having nothing cool happen to her because she was a citizen? Absolutely the fuck not.
And, while she was half tempted to pick The White Fang option, the only thing stopping her was how it would heavily influence her view of the world. And, quite frankly, she didn't want her perception of reality tampered with. Not to that much of an extent. Hell, even being a Remnant of Despair didn't tamper with her worldviews.
So, she skipped over it.
And that left her with only one option.
And that was the Good Karma one. The Wizard. It seemed that no matter what option she picked, there was a chance for her to become a Faunus, whatever that was. And quite frankly, she wasn't all that concerned with it. Sure, changing her race so suddenly was annoying, and it was probably painful, but at the same time, it was only a chance, so that didn't mean that she was going to change into a faunus.
Besides, even if she did, what exactly was there to worry about? Being a human, while good, was boring—especially if there was another option. Being a human in RPGs didn't exactly give you any buff or debuffs, meaning it was a safe class to pick, and while she would prefer to remain that way, she wouldn't be against becoming a faunus.
So, she picked the Good Karma option.
The moment she did, a wheel appeared in front of her. There were two options. HUMAN and FAUNUS. The wheel spun immediately without her input and landed on FAUNUS. Then, another wheel appeared, and the options were vast. There was CAT, DOG, WOLF, TIGER, LION, HYENA, SALAMANDER, BUNNY, BEAR, DEER, OCTOPUS, RAT, and DRAGON, just to name a few.
The wheel spun, as a pit of anxiety formed in her chest. Whatever a Faunus was, it had something to do with animals, and she swore to The Almighty that if she got rat she was going to riot. She positively hated rats and for good reason. She had been bitten by them multiple times as Jack, and so becoming a Rat was out of the question.
The wheel stopped spinning, and just as it narrowly passed over rat, it landed on the one just above it. And it made Jolyne smile with a wide grin.
Dragon.
Once the wheel stopped spinning, and after it disappeared, she felt a slight pain on the top of her head and lower back, though it quickly went away after a second or two. Suddenly, her lower back, or more appropriately, her waist, felt heavier and when she looked over behind her, she was greeted with an elegant, beautiful black tail the size of her leg, with pink scales that went down the center.
It started rather thick at the base, but as it went on, it became slimmer and slimmer, up until the tip, where it was about as thin as the tip of a pencil. And much like a pencil, it had a pointed end. What was better, was that she had complete control over how it moved, making it swing from side to side like how a dog would with excitement.
After a few moments of distracting herself with her new tail, and getting it to stop wagging from left to right, she remembered the slight pain she had atop her head, so, she decided to feel around. What she found when she patted her head, were two horns that were about the same size as her hand, that ended off in a two-prong fork-like thing, and both horns felt about as hard as a rock. Finally, she licked over her teeth and felt that her canine teeth felt sharper, pointier, and overall more… stabby.
She had… actually turned into a half-dragon.
That thought repeated in the back of her mind.
She, Jolyne Brooks, had turned into a fucking half-dragon.
"Holy shit…." Jolyne thought as she looked down at her hands. She felt… stronger. Way stronger. Just what the hell was a Faunus? Were they basically Demi-Humans? Like, humans with properties and benefits of the animal they were a hybrid of, or were they Humans with animal traits? Perhaps both? Regardless of that fact, Jolyne was excited as shit!
She. Was. A. Fucking. Dragon!
Or, well, part dragon, anyway. It didn't matter to her, though, as she had the attributes of a dragon. A real, honest to god, dragon. The kind that fantasy nerds WISHED was real, and she now was half of one! Her Luck stat increase was already paying off BIG time, and she was glad for it.
Although, now that she thought about it, there was probably going to be some downside to it. And considering that there was a movement to get Faunus equal rights, there was a high chance that being a Faunus wasn't all that great.
So, while she was a half-dragon, she was also a minority, and by the sounds of it, an oppressed minority.
"Fuck, way to blow the wind out of my sails…." Jolyne thought, frowning.
[Congratulations! You are now a Dragon Faunus. Only heard of in mythos and tales to Faunus children, none have actually ever existed, and were thought to be nothing more than folktales told by parents to give Faunus children something to believe in, and to make it seem as if their oppression at the hands of, most, humans feel less like the normal, and more like a recent happening that will be stopped one day by a great and powerful faunus. Unfortunatly, it was just that. A myth…. Until today, that is. You are the first ever Dragon Faunus to exist in recorded history, and with it, you may do unspeakable evil, or, you may do untold amounts of good. It all depends on what you want. After all.. you are a Dragon.]
.
[Your Race has been updated to Magma-Dragon Faunus]
.
[Race Bonus – Dragon Faunus: As a Dragon Faunus, physical attacks do 50% less damage to you. On top of this, your Endurance, Def, and Mg Def go up by 25%. However, your HP regen will be halved, and due to being a Dragon, you gain the trait known as Treasure Hoarder, and the trait known as King/Queen of Faunus.]
.
Stat change!
END: 1,868 – 2,335
DEF: 1,868 – 2,335
Mg Def: 2,215 – 2,769
HP regen: 126.9 per second – 63.45 per second
.
New Trait Unlocked – Treasure Hoarder: Due to the fact that you are a Dragon, you have the unconscious tendency to hoard money and extremely valuable materials. However, it is not debilitating. However, if someone tries to steal something from you… let thyne souls be judged by hellfire. For thou shalt maketh their bodies break, and thyne blood will stain thou's jaws.
.
New Trait Unlocked – King/Queen of Faunus: All Faunus, no matter their allegiances (with the exception of a few) will listen to whatever you order of them, within reason, of course. Some will be more reluctant than others, and some may disagree, but at the end of the day, the orders of the King or Queen supersede everyone else.
.
Money converted from Yen to Lien.
28,737,840 Yen – 213,246.27 Lien
Jolyne had to slow down and read everything. First things first, her money had dropped significantly. Turned out that 28 million Yen wasn't all that much in the grand scheme of things. But hey, 200K is still 200K. That, and there was the whole Dragon thing.
Of course, there would be a caveat to being a Dragon, or in this case, a Dragon Faunus. Whatever, same shit different pile. She could see how hoarding money and treasure might turn into a problem later down the line, despite it telling her that it wasn't a debilitating thing. That and her HP regen had been halved. Add on top of that the fact that she was now an oppressed minority…
Eh, it wasn't exactly the end of the world….
No, you know what, It was actually kinda bullshit, all things considered. But, still! The fact that she was part Dragon now was something that she could be excited about! Even if it came with the whole, you know, minority thing… It wasn't all that bad.
And then, she realized that now she had to explain that to Rantaro and the other two kids. And then everyone else once she found them…. "Fuck c'mon, really?! Goddamnit! Way to make my life hell! Fuck you, Daimen!" Jolyne thought as she cupped her chin.
She had to think of something, anything to get out of that part of the shitty situation.
Maybe she could lie to them?
No… they'd know it'd be a lie. And, quite frankly, after Daimen had practically ratted her out without expressly saying it was bad. Unfortunatly, now that they were in another universe, literally, she knew it'd only be a matter of time before questions were asked. And with… this new change to her entire body… well, it only made sense.
Honestly, she was done with surprises now. All she wanted to do now was get down to business. So, with that in mind…. "Is that all, Mono, or are there going to be more things I should expect?" Jolyne asked her system, which then caused Mono to sigh in his robotic, British-esque voice.
[There is one more thing, actually, and you may not like it. This particularly falls into your gender, so it is hyper-specific to you. While not all Female Faunus can do this, it does happen to the most common kind of Faunus, that being the Cat, Rabbit, and Wolf Faunus'. However, this also applies to Dragon Faunus, and as for what that is, I will explain it momentarily. To sum it up, these kinds of Faunus can go into something called "heat," and it starts around the age of 16 to 17, though it usually depends on the person. Nothing changes about the person physically during this time. However, it does come with some… baggage per se. This can only happen once a year, and in that time, it is the only time of the year when these particular faunus can reproduce. The scientific explanation has to do with the fact that since those particular animals have that process, both in mythos and in real life, it translated over to the Faunus sub-species of humans. For each person, it is different for when it happens, and for the timespan of a month, they, or this case you, will experience the unnatural desire to want to breed. It can be… a lot emotionally for a Faunus of those types, and it is extremely difficult to keep under wraps. What's worse is that other male faunus can tell if you're in heat, and if one of the same kind finds out, it can lead to… unwanted advances, though it is completely instinctual, and not malicious. This replaces the human menstrual cycle, so instead of bleeding once a month, once a year, at any given time, you will have the innate want to breed with a human or faunus at random, and it is extremely annoying. Don't blame me, blame the mythos on Dragons. Good luck :)]
Before Jolyne could curse out Mono aloud, time returned to its normal flow, as she heard groaning coming from behind her. She watched as Rantaro slowly sat up, alongside Monica and Jataro…. Both of whom were also turned into faunus by who she had to assume was Daimen. Monica had a pair of bear ears atop her head and a little nub that poked at a specific part of her dress that made it look like she had something trying to push through her dress. Kinda like a button or something. Jataro, on the other hand, had either Dog ears or Wolf's ears. They looked practically the same, but when she saw the tail, it was obvious he was a wolf.
Jolyne had to blink several times upon seeing them as Faunus... Did Daimen find it particularly funny that they were now, in fact, Faunus? Was it more entertaining to him? The kids had already suffered enough, now they were going to be treated like shit! Did that dumbass ever think straight! "For fucksake, what the hell!" Jolyne thought as she sighed.
She had to calm down. She had to give Daimen the benefit of the doubt. Maybe he didn't know that, and if that was the case, she could calm down. Though, now that begged the question of how many other people did he snap his fingers and transform into Faunus? And then, the follow-up question would be if it was this world exclusive, or, did it transfer over to the next world?
"Ugh… what the hell? Where are… we…?" Rantaro said as his eyes slowly widened upon seeing Jolyne. He bit his lower lip and looked over to Monica and Jataro, who were both confused with their new appendages. He then looked over to Jolyne and slowly began to ask. "What… happened to, uh… you guys. And… where are we?" Rantaro asked as Jolyne sighed.
"Well, would you believe me if I said that Daimen turned me, Monica, and Jataro into human-animal hybrids for his sick amusement?" Jolyne asked as Rantaro went to speak, before stopping, looking back over to Monica and Jataro, before shaking his head.
"You know what… considering he said something about how you were supposed to entertain him, I can see how that would make sense. Though, I still have questions of my own that I want to be answered," Rantaro said as he stood up, helping both Jataro and Monica to their feet. "Specifically about the whole, you becoming a Demi-God bit."
Jolyne pinched the bridge of her nose, before looking up at the dark starlit sky. Originally, she had looked up to clear her mind, but now, because of what she saw, she was both amazed and scared at the same time, namely due to the implication that it carried.
The moon was fractured. A chunk of it had been blown apart by… something. She didn't know what could've done that, nor why, but if it was something in this world… then she wanted absolutely nothing to do with it. Not even in the slightest.
Jolyne looked over to the others, who were looking up at the sky with wide eyes. Monica looked like she had watched something dear to her die, Rantaro looked fascinated and horrified, and Jataro seemed to be a mix of both. "W-What happened to the moon?" Jataro asked as Jolyne shrugged, unable to think of a reason as to why this world's moon appeared to be like that.
"I don't know, Jataro. All I know is that we're in a new world, and if there is one thing I know about this, which is practically nothing, being in a new world within the wilderness is not a good thing. So, before we end up as some animals dinner, we should go find some shelter, and then by the morning once we're rested, I'll answer whatever questions you guys have because I'm assuming you do thanks to Daimen. Alright?" Jolyne said, gaining everyone's attention away from the sky.
Rantaro looked at her, his expression neutral, but his eyes judging, almost as if he was weighing whether or not her words meant anything. After a moment, he nodded, before looking over to the children, who both looked horrified. Jataro hid behind Rantaro, grabbing onto his pant leg, while Monica held onto Jolyne's new tail—something that she wasn't going to get used to for a while.
"Yeah… alright. But you have to answer, alright, Jolyne?" Rantaro said, his eyes narrowed as Jolyne nodded.
"I promise. I will tell you everything I can, within reason."
[Reputation with Rantaro Amami increased – Plus 1 (51/100)]
"Alright… now, let's get to safety," Rantaro said as they started to walk north through the shrubbery of the woods. This was Rantaro's area of expertise, so she was going to follow him without question. Hopefully, they found something revolving around civilization. Otherwise, things were going to get hectic.
The last thing she wanted to do was have to camp, especially in a world unlike any she had been in before—considering the only worlds she had been in were her own world as Jack, and as Jolyne in Rantaro's world, which might as well have been just her world but with magic.
That, and she really didn't want to camp out in the woods.
The last time Jolyne camped out in the woods, it was with her former class, and some stupid twat named Nagito Komeada—rest in piss he would not be missed, at least by her—tried to kill her because she was a "false Ultimate" or whatever.
Hopefully, there wouldn't be a repeat of that kind of incident.
Hopefully.
[Welcome To The World Of Remnent – Part 1]
[Quest: Find Shelter]
[Being out in the wilderness at night is a very bad idea. The local wildlife are… well, let's just say extremely hostile to anything with a pulse. Not all, but most, will try to kill you on sight. So, finding a place to sleep is an extremely good idea. So, do that!]

Dismissing the quest, Jolyne trekked on ahead behind Rantaro, who was leading the way, all the while she made sure she didn't step on her new tail. She also made sure to keep a close eye on the two children in front of her, not that they would go anywhere, but still, it was a precaution. If what the quest said was true, then she needed to have her guard up at all times.
The last thing she wanted was for anything bad to happen. Not that Jolyne thought anything bad would happen. And besides, it wasn't as if they were being followed. That would be, quite literally, impossible. They had just shown up in this world called Remnant.
The chances of them being followed were slim to none.
Little had she known that a small, black bird with red eyes had been watching her from the treetops. The bird had made notice that one moment, they weren't there, and then the next, they were. To think, it was just taking a little pit stop while it kept a close eye on a certain someone. The bird squawked, before tilting its head and flying off to follow after them, its curiosity, as well as suspicion, piqued.
After all… nothing escaped the eyes of a bird….
Especially those of a pesky crow.
