A few days later, Luz was sitting on Boscha's bed at Triplet Manor, AKA her new home. The owl house, it was no more. A completely burned spot of rubble and ash, not furniture was salvageable and no human items were sellable. It was all just…gone. And it was ODALIA'S plan and fault! The only thing left was Eda's staff, which Luz hasn't let go of for four days, not even her phone and picture of her mom survived. Every picture of her mom and dad were now gone, with no clue if she'll ever see her mom again.
'I've lost…..everything.' Luz thought, gazing at Owlbert as he hadn't moved much since Eda's death. 'I've lost the portal, I've lost my things, I've lost Eda and King…I've lost everything.'
There was a knock on the door.
"Luz? Are... are you okay?" Boscha asked, "You missed dinner... again."
Luz hasn't left Boscha's room since that day, not to eat, not to drink, she hasn't even slept. She pretends to, but her and Boscha share the bed, and Boscha knows the rhythm of her girlfriends heartbeat when she's sleeping.
"Yeah, I'm okay." Luz said but that was a lie.
Boscha opened the door, showing she was carrying some dinner for Luz. She wasn't going to let Luz starve herself, depression or not.
"You sure? Mom made your favorite." Boscha said, walking to the bed and sitting the tray on the night stand.
"I'm not hungry." Luz said.
Boscha made a spell circle and turned herself into a muffin in front of Luz.
"Come on, not even for you delicious girlfriend?" Boscha asked, "Come on, I'm filled with nutrients."
Luz picked her up and placed her on the tray, completely ignoring her.
"Luz, please, I... I don't like seeing you like this." Boscha said.
"I said I'm fine, Boscha. I just need some time." Luz said, looking away from her.
"It's been four days and you haven't talked to us. Please, we just want to help you." Boscha said.
"I don't want to talk about it."
The muffin began hopping off the tray and hopped in front of Luz.
"Well too bad, because we're talking about it." Boscha said, "Luz, don't shut me out, please, I'm worried about you. I know you're dealing with a large amount of emotions right now, but let me help."
"I said I don't want to talk about it." Luz said.
"Luz, ple-"
Luz picked Boscha up and bit her mouth off.
'Well, my plan worked, she's eating something.' Boscha thought.
Luz put Boscha back on the try as Amethyst came out and curled up next to Luz, rubbing her side to show she was a support animal/palisman too. Boscha's eyes made it look like she was thinking, before they widened and began hopping off the tray, to the ground, and out of the room. She was hopping down the hall when Amity stepped on her. Amity lifted her foot and saw the flattened muffin stain.
"Sorry, Boscha." Amity said, turning her back.
Amity had Boscha's special spell book, that can return you back from any transformation spell, no matter how damaged you are, which is why Boscha had her mouth when turned back.
"Mittens, I have an idea." Boscha said, "Keep Luz company until I get back."
"Is it something risky?" Amity asked as Boscha ran off.
"A little but Luz needs this!" Boscha shouted back.
Amity's wondered what Boscha was planning, but she headed to Boscha's room to see Luz.
"Luz?" Amity asked, walking in.
Luz just laid in bed, holding Eda's staff.
"Luz, are you okay?" Amity asked, walking up to the bed and sitting next to her. "At least tell me you've eaten."
"I bit Boscha's mouth off when she turned into a muffin." Luz said, not facing Amity.
"That's something I guess." Amity said, "Luz, its going to be okay."
"Is it?" Luz asked, "How? Everyone that helps me ends up dying. How long until you and Boscha are getting buried because of me?"
"That won't happen." Amity said, rubbing Luz's head.
"How do you know that?" Luz asked, "The odds seem to show that."
"And we've beaten the odds at every turn. You've beaten the odds even before that!" Amity said.
Luz just closed her eyes not even able to look at Amity.
"You got into Hexside, you beat a basilisk." Amity listed to her, at least from what Luz told her.
"Luz, you have done-"
"Stop." Luz said.
"Luz-"
"I said, stop!" Luz yelled, "You don't get it do you!? I don't care what I've done in the past, five people I cared about have died because of me in less than a month! Do have idea what that feels like!? To lose everyone because they even so much as helped you!?"
"Luz, I-"
"And you know what makes it worse?" Luz asked, jabbing a finger into Amity's chest, "It was because of YOUR mother."
Luz got up and stormed out, slamming the door behind her and leaving the Manor, and leaving Amity in shock. Luz ran into the woods and pulled out the damned sword.
"This is all your damn fault!" She yelled at the red blade, "If I never found you, everything would be fine!"
Luz threw the sword, but it kept coming back to her because of her connection to it. It just made her angrier and she didn't know if anything could possibly make her even more angry.
"Well, well, well, what do we have here?"
She thought too soon. Luz got mad and turned to face Odalia, surrounded by at least three dozen coven guards.
"You. You! YOU!" Luz screamed in rage, pointing the Monado at Odalia.
"Oh, please, let's get pass the typical introduction and get to the point where you surrender." Odalia said.
"Surrender?! You think I'm gonna surrender after all the SHIT you and this coven have put me through?!" Luz shouted, the Monado glaring brightly as it entered its bright white mode.
Luz's eyes glowed white as she felt all the glyphs power flowing through her.
"I think I'd rather wipe the floor with you." Luz said.
"Hmm, not this time. This time, we're ready for you." Odalia said, snapping her fingers. "Bring them over."
Guards came over holding Boscha and Amity.
"Boscha! Amity!" Luz shouted in shock.
"You didn't think I'd learn, did you? And if they're not enough." Odalia said before waving her hand over, bringing Gus and Willow out as well. "I've got you little friends too."
Luz tightened her grip on the sword handle. She glared at Odalia.
"I would've gotten other allies, but you tend to get them all killed." Odalia said, "Tell me, how disappointed do you think Edalyn was in you when she died?"
"Shut... up." Luz said.
"I mean, she would still be alive if you hadn't tried to play hero." Odalia said, smirking as she got under Luz's skin.
"I said shut up!" Luz said.
"Now the question is, who do I kill first?" Odalia asked, "Oh, how about my pathetic excuse for a daughter."
Odalia pulled out a knife and held it up.
"Now, Mittens, remember, this is all the Human's fua-"
A quick breeze passed them as Odalia froze.
"You're right, everyone that interacts with me dies." Luz said, "And that goes for you as well."
Odalia fell to her knees and then to the ground, as her head rolled away from her body. Luz looked at the guards holding her friends and girlfriends. She didn't even give them a chance to let go of them as she ran over and stabbed on through the heart. She pulled her sword out and swung at another that was charging at her, cutting off their arm and then slamming the sword through his head.
"Aaaah!" Another shouted, creating a sword.
Luz swung and destroyed it before slashing through his chest! Luz didn't stop, defeating them all with ease, covering her sword and body and ground in blood. Luz walked away, dragging the sword after killing the last one. Her friends and girlfriends, though a little scared from what they saw, approached Luz to comfort her. She didn't look hurt physically but emotionally? Who knows what she could be feeling right now?
"Luz-"
She pointed her sword at them, but kept looking at the ground.
"Don't." Luz said, "I don't need your damn pity."
"We're not pitying you, we're worried and care about you." Amity said, moving closer to Luz and putting a hand on her arm to lower the Monado.
"I'm fine. Especially now that I got revenge for EVERYTHING that bitch has done." Luz said.
"Luz, this isn't you." Amity said.
Luz pulled her arm away from Amity.
"Well maybe you didn't know me." Luz said, "Maybe this was always who I was meant to be. Maybe this is who I WANT to be."
Luz turned away and began to walk away before stopping and looking back.
"Don't follow me." Luz said, switching to fire mode.
She swung the Monado across the ground, making a wall of fire to prevent them from following her.
'Luz….' Amity and Boscha thought, worried about their girlfriend now more than ever.
"Guys, we need to stop her." Willow said.
"I know." Boscha said.
"No, I mean... the only thing she would even think about going to in that direction is the Emperor's Castle." Willow said.
"You don't think Luz could possibly be that stu-" Amity cut herself off, "We have to get her!"
Everyone quickly summoned their staffs and flew off as fast as they could. They had to reach Luz before she reached Belos! He may have been the enemy but in the public eye, it could be seen as a declaration of war! In the castle, Belos sat on his throne, he knew she would come... and he was hoping for it.
