Yang intervention chapter. Not that long, but it doesn't have to be.

Yang stretched her arms above her head and groaned at the satisfying pops of her joints. School had started just a week ago and things were...well, they were the same as always, but at least now she could pretend her mom wasn't hanging out with a guy young enough to be her kid. Cause they were still doing that. Ruby wouldn't stop complaining about how Denji was always on the phone with mom or how weird it was.

Yang herself had been forced to confront some things, like the fact that mom's jokes about wanting a harem were not, in fact, jokes at all. Or the fact that Summer Rose was as crazy as she was an amazing Huntress. She'd only recently found out about her and Uncle Qrow's first meeting where she screamed about touching his balls if she killed a Goliath, then made good on her word that very same night.

Things were going topsy turvy around her and she could barely keep up. What next, Ruby not being as sweet and innocent as she'd always thought she was? She wouldn't be able to take it if that happened.

The blonde brawler opened the door only to stop when at what awaited her inside. Ruby, Weiss and Blake sitting in a semi-circle in front of an empty chair. For some reason it looked eerily familiar, as if she'd seen it before in another life, "Wha-" She didn't get a chance to say any more than that before Ruby rushed past her and slammed the door shut, Weiss covering both the door and the windows with her glyphs immediately after.

...

"...If this is you girls attempting to get me into an orgy, you would've had better luck before I started dating Jaune...and if Ruby wasn't in the room. Half sister means we're still related."

"Yang, gross!" Ruby shouted,

"All I'm saying is it looks hella sus that you all lock the exits and that chair has a lot of rope next to it."

"The rope is too keep you from simply running off." Weiss scoffed, "Believe me, Yang, I have little interest in purporting that absurd rumor that I'm a socially incompetent boob who is 'thirsty' for women. I'm very much straight, thank you."

Blake raised a brow, "I've seen how you look at Pyrrha in the locker rooms. You're not that straight."

"Shut it! And we're not here to talk about me."

"Are we here to talk about your repressed crush on Blake?" Yang asked.

"No! ...And I don't have a crush on her!" Blake, if she even noticed the heiress' blush, said nothing.

"Stop distracting everyone, Yang!" Ruby pushed her down onto the seat and crossed her arms. Thankfully she didn't tie her up, "Look, we're here to talk about a super important topic that everyone agrees needs to be addressed."

"Yeah, so when do we talk about Weiss and Blake's sexual tensi-"

"We're talking about Denji! This is about Denji!" Weiss shrieked. Normally Yang would've found the heiress' reaction to be absolutely hilarious, but the name of the monster from her nightmares was enough to tank her mood.

"Ugh, what about him?" Yang crossed her arms, all mirth gone. Why was everyone so obsessed with the guy? Ever since he transferred here it felt like all their lives revolved around him.

Blake coughed, "We were hoping to talk about how you've been acting around him." Yang raised a very unimpressed brow and just looked at her partner, "We've been trying to ignore how you were acting about him, but its been months."

"How I've been acting?" Yang scoffed, "That's rich coming from you, Blakey. And you too, Weiss!" She threw up her hands, "Blake, you ran off back to Menagerie just cause his little sister wanted you to pet her dogs! And Weiss, you wouldn't shut up about how much you think he's not 'worthy' of your big sister! The only reason you stopped is cause you feel super guilty now after he told us about his past. Ruby's the only one who treats him normally, and that makes her the weirdest one here."

"Hey!" Ruby protested.

"I'll admit I still have some reservations about him being a...couple with Winter." Weiss frowned, "But that doesn't change the fact that I'm not acting irrational. I have my disagreements with Denji, the same way I have disagreements with a lot of people." Yeah, she could say that again, "However, despite all my disagreements, I do not fear him. Not like you do."

"Blake's scared of him!" Yang didn't even bother to deny being afraid. It was everyone else that was dumb for not being scared of the literal chainsaw monster.

"Correction: I'm scared of his dogs, which is a very rational fear that's been documented to be common among many people." Yeesh, she sounded like Jaune when he was defending his airsickness, "I'm not scared of Denji by himself, which is what you feel. Don't you think you're acting just a little silly?"

"I'm sorry, who was it again that ran away from the eight year old girl and her dogs?"

"You're being mean, Yang!" Ruby cut in, saving her hypocritical partner from having to answer, "Denji's helped us out a bunch since he enrolled here but you still act like he's gonna go crazy or something."

"I'm not the one being crazy here!" Yang shouted back, "How are you all fine with this? The guy turns into a bladed monster that feeds on blood and sounds like a guy dying inside a wood chipper! Most people would be scared of that!"

The RWB of the team looked at one another for a moment before Weiss spoke, "Yang...we're Huntresses. We're literally being trained to fight the manifestations of evil, possibly for the rest of our lives. Many Huntsmen die young and horrifically so. With this in mind, why exactly does Denji's transformation, as grotesque as it is, cause you such distress?"

"It just does!" Yang sighed and shook her head, "Look, I don't get on your butts about your weurd fears. Blake's scared of dogs, you're afraid of clowns, Ruby still thinks the monster in the closet is real, and even Pyrrha freaks out when she sees spiders. If you guys aren't getting over those, then I can have mine."

"We don't keep our teammates awake at night," Blake countered, "Do you even realize that you scream in your sleep? You've been doing it for weeks. Always something about how you can hear the revving on the chainsaw, that he's coming to kill you, and how 'the Hero of Hell spares no one'." Blake rubbed her temples, "Then there was the time you started booby trapping the entrances."

"That's only because Ruby invited him here without telling us!" Yang said, glaring at her shameless little sis, "Look, it wasn't a big deal. Weiss only lost like, two inches of hair tops, and I put the traps away afterwards!"

"You also wanted us to start sleeping in shifts in case he tried to sneak in," Ruby said.

"And maybe if we did that his little sister wouldn't have done it and Blake wouldn't have run off."

"No, that wouldn't have helped. She would've gotten inside no matter what. She always finds a way..." Blake shuddered. Yeah, and she thought Yang had a problem?

"All we're suggesting is that you find a way to co-exist with Denji," Weiss said, ever the diplomat, "Despite his negative traits, he has proven himself as an ally and it doesn't look good for you, or team RWBY as a whole, to act so afraid of him." She gave her that Schnee patented smile, "So what do you say, Yang? Will you at least try?"

...

...

...

"Not a chance."

"Oh, come on!" Ruby huffed.

"Look, I don't know why everyone can't see him for the nightmare monster that he is, but that's not my problem. If you guys wanna pretend the shark in the bloody waters is friendly, be my guest. Just don't drag me into it."

They wanted to argue more, but the glyphs finally ran out and Yang left before they could push the subject further. The (almost) fearless brawler shook her head as she walked to the dorm lounge. Alright, so her whole team was crazy now. Great. Well, whatever. She'd dealt with everything on her own so far. All she had to do was stay out of Denji's way then go to the other side of Remnant to put as much distance between the two of them as possible.

Great, now she was in a bad mood. Maybe a show would lighten things up. She slumped on the couch and turned the TV, happy that at least she was alone right now. Lisa Lavender and the morning news came up. Yang was about to change the channel when-

"This just in. We've received news from a credible source inside Beacon that Yang Xiao Long, self-proclaimed 'biggest badass in Vale', is actually a mega coward. More news at eleven."

...

"Oh, come on!"

Wonder who that source is. Ruby wanting her sister to stop being a wuss? Pyrrha getting some revenge? Maybe Nayuta just trolling cause she finds it funny. Speaking of Nayuta, the latest chapter is making me curious.

Questions:

1. So to anyone whose read the latest CM chapter, Nayuta's pretty different from how she was originally introduced. So the question is now: do we keep the Nayuta we have here so far, where she's quietly menacing and creepy, or do we have her shift to her more bratty and demanding characterization from the canon?

Both allow for different kinds of interactions. The latter especially with Winter and Ruby since Nayuta acts suspicious and hostile towards the two, Winter for being an older woman who seems just the type to try and kill him, and Ruby because she's now bonded to Yoru and Nayuta gets a bad feel from her. That and the typical 'you're not my mom' arguments with Winter.

The former is more of what we have so far with her mostly being in the background and being a bully towards characters like Blake or even Salem, who she basically orders to stop destroying Remnant cause she likes it there.

2. Would you guys be interested in an omake of Weiss having to babysit Vale councilwoman and Nobel Prize recepient Power when she comes to visit Beacon? It won't be canon to the rest of the story, but some people are really interested in seeing Power at least once despite the vote against putting her into the cast.
