Neo Metal Saga Episode 9: Battle Against the Egg Fleet
After reaching through the Fog Forest and Deep Jungle, the five Team of Freedom Fighters, Chaotix, and G.U.N are making their way to New Mobotropolis as they see the Egg Fleet is heading to the direction of the city.
"Eggman's Fleet are heading towards New Mobotropolis," Eve says.
"If he doesn't get there, Dr. Eggman's fleet will attack the city," Tails says, flying the Tornado 2.
Cosmo grows worried, "And it will be really bad. The security might still be done and Nicole might not be able to turn on the protective shield or barrier to prevent the attack."
"We gotta get to the city as fast as we can before the Egg Fleet reaches the city and attacks," Eve says.
Sonic then, "It's best that Eve and I go head to head, we can get there faster."
"I think it's for the best. We need to get to the city and warn everyone," Sonic says.
Then Fiona says, "Sonic. Eve. You both better go ahead. We'll catch up."
"Thanks guys," Eve says.
Then turns to Sonic, "Let's hurry Sonic."
"Yeah. Time to go Sonic Speed," Sonic says.
With that, Sonic and Eve begin to run across the hills and plains in top speed to get to New Mobotropolis before the Egg Fleet can get there.
At New Mobotropolis, the construction of the city continues as Sally, Sonia, and Manic are in charge of the construction and finally, the security system has been completed and Nicole is testing it out. Nicole puts up the protective bubble.
Nicole appears next to Sally and says, "Sally, the protective shield is working, and it's stronger than ever."
"I can tell. It looks like it's even stronger than the last time," Sally says.
"And the dome program is also fixed up, so it should be strong enough to face the kind of destruction plans Eggman might have," Nicole says.
Sonia says, "I think the city's repairs are doing very well so far."
"And it looks like it will take some time for everything to be finished," Manic says.
Sally says, "I'm glad to see everything is going well."
Then looks concerned, "I hope Sonic, Eve, and the others are doing alright finding the others."
"I'm sure they're doing fine, and will be arriving here any minute," Manic says.
Suddenly, Sonic calls out, "Sally!"
"Sally!" Eve calls out.
Sally, Manic, and Sonia turn to see Sonic and Eve rush towards them fast and stop in front of them.
"Sonic! Sally! This is a surprise," Sally says.
"Sally, we came to warn you," Eve says.
"Warn me, about what?" Sally asks.
Then Nicole asks, "Did you find the others?"
"What happened?" Sonia asks.
"It's a long story, but Eggman is at it again," Sonic says.
"What's he up to this time?" Sonia asks, rolling her eyes and not too surprised that Eggman is planning something.
"Eggman has made an Egg Fleet of aircrafts and is heading this way," Sonic says.
"And there are so many airships with weapons attached to them, and ready to attack," Eve says.
"Oh no," Nicole says, worried.
"You need to get everyone to safety," Sonic says.
Then Eve asks, "Is the security system or any protective system fixed."
"Luckily, we were able to fix the security system and protective dome in the nick of time. There is still some construction for the buildings, but I should be able to put the dome up," Nicole says.
"That's a relief," Eve says.
"Eve and I gotta get going. We got an Egg Fleet to stop and an Egghead's plans to foil," Sonic says.
"We'll see you around," Eve says.
And with that, Sonic and Eve hurry off to join the others in the battle.
Sally turns to Nicole, "Nicole, put up the protective barrier and dome, and make sure the lights are one so everyone can return to their homes and stay safe."
"At once, Sally," Nicole says.
With that, Nicole sets off the alarm and has the protective barrier and dome activate as the citizens stop what they're doing and decide to head inside as the city becomes protected from harm. Outside of the city, Sonic and Eve rush out to see their large group arrive in front of the city.
"Hey guys, glad you made it," Eve says.
"And it looks like we made it before Eggman's fleet came over," Rouge says.
Nic looks up in the sky, "And we just got here in time. Look," And points to the sky.
Sonic, Eve, and the others look to see Eggman's Egg Fleet arriving on the scene in the sky.
"Well then, we'll need to get up there and take down Eggman's Fleet," Sonic says.
"And how are we going to get everyone up there?" Vector asks.
"Well, some of us can ride on the Tornado 2, Omega, and some of us could fly on our own," Tails says.
"How about we use a Warp Ring? Anyone got one?" Sonic asks.
Then Knuckles brings out a Warp Ring, "I guess it was a good idea for me to bring extras."
Knuckles then tosses the ring and looks through to see the deck of one of the Egg Fleets.
"Alright guys, we're in," Knuckles says.
Soon, everyone walks through the portal and soon, everyone finds themselves high up in the sky and on one of the Egg Fleet aircraft. They all look down to see multiple Egg Fleet aircraft just below.
"There are so many of them," Fiona says.
"And we're going to have to defeat all of them," Saffron says, concerned.
"This is not going to be easy. Eggman has so many destructive aircrafts that it will take us a while to destroy and defeat," Cosmo says.
"And we don't really know where Eggman is? He could be on any one of these aircrafts," Maria says.
"It seems that the best option we have is divide and conquer," Sonic says.
Which means each group takes down each Egg Fleet aircraft and meets up at the largest one," Vector says.
"Alright, then each of us will be in our original five group and we will destroy as many Egg Fleet weapons and aircrafts as we can and meet up at the largest aircraft," Sonic says.
Eve looks down and says, "And that large fortress at the far bottom seems like the right spot."
"Chao Chao," Jazz replies.
Everyone looks down to see a giant whale shark-shaped battle flagship and is located in the heart of the Egg Fleet, where it seems to be permanently surrounded by rough weather. In the very core of the flagship lies a giant structure with a mechanical version of Eggman's head on top, hiding the power core of the vessel.
"I think that would be the heart of the Egg Fleet. If we can take that out, we'll be able to take down the entire fleet," Rouge says.
"Alright teams, let's blast Eggmans' fleet to pieces," Sonic says.
With that, the five teams divide themselves once more and begin to hurry along to take down the Egg Fleet aircrafts and meet up at the largest, which is the Fortress. Everyone heads down to a different Egg Fleet and comes across Eggman's Badniks and weapons. Each of the Teams work together to destroy the Badniks, the blasters, and other weapons that the Egg Fleet have around. At some point, they'll have to fly on propellers, dodge rockets, cannons, and Eggman Robots. They even have to resort to attacking them. Sonic, Eve, Shadow use their Spin Dash to destroy the cannons. Amy uses her hammer. Rouge uses her Screwkick. Others are able to use their fist and weapons to attack the Badniks, weapons, and destroy their cannons. Still, everyone is working hard to destroy the Egg Fleet in order to save New Mobotropolis and the world for that matter. And soon enough, they manage to destroy the cannons and any of Eggman's Egg Fleet aircrafts.
And soon enough, the five teams land on the deck of the giant aircraft Fortress.
"This place must be Eggman's secret Headquarters," Sonic says.
"It's more like an air base," Fiona says.
"I don't like this. It looks very scary," Cream says.
"Chao Chao," Cheese replies, nervously.
Even Chocola is anxious," Chao chao."
"I know it's scary, but we just need to destroy this Fortress and that will be the end of Eggman's plans," Amy says.
"Almost," Eve says.
Then Shadow says, "Eve's right. We still need to find Dr. Eggman and put a stop to him."
"And until then, we got a Fortress to wreck," Sonic says.
Soon enough, the Teams begin to explore around the Egg Fortress to find a way to destroy the weapons, the cannons, and any kind of weapons. They explore around using the poles, the grind railing, and other ways to get around the Fortress. As they explore around the Fortress, they separate and begin to destroy any Badnik and cannons they come across. They have to go through different obstacles and destroy any of Eggman's robots and weapons to get around, And soon, one part of the area self-destructs where Sonic's team is at, which confuses them. Team Dark, Team Treasure, Team Rose, and Team Chaotix soon experience the same thing. They continue to explore the Final Fortress in different locations as they begin to wreck anything Eggman has.
Time has passed, everyone soon arrives on the dock of the Final Fortress.
"Well, it looks like we managed to cause a mess at Eggman's fortress," Sonic says.
"That will be more than enough to get Eggman's attention," Sonic says.
"Oh it certainly has, hedgehogs! Eggman speaks up.
Everyone turns to see Eggman riding on his Egg Mobile.
"Eggman!" Everyone calls out.
"This time you won't be getting away with this!" Tails says.
"Just give it up Eggman, we destroyed every one of your Badniks and traps you set up," Sonic says.
Eggma cackles, "Enough of this! It's time to meet your maker!"
Soon, Eggman is inside one of his robots. It's known as the Egg Emperor. A large and humanoid old gold-colored robot with a round torso. Its upper torso and back possess thick armor while its undercarriage is smaller and dark green. A white rim separates the Egg Emperor's upper and lower torso. It also has red and old gold bolts covering its underbelly, a dark green neck collar, and a round blue and purple window into its cockpit in the center of its torso. Its right shoulder is round with red and white spikes, and its right arm consists of a long old gold lance with a gray tip. Its left shoulder is more cup-shaped and its left arm has a gray hand with a dark green back. Strapped to its left forearm is a tall red shield with a circular gray and red center, a gray outline, and old gold edges. Its legs are also gray and thin while its ankles have old gold armor with red lower edges around them. Its feet are dark green with old gold (later gray) soles, and its kneecaps have spikes. Its head also has sharp teeth and red spikes for a mustache. Lastly, it has dark green eyes, a fin on its forehead, and long rocket flaps on its back.
"I will show what real evil is!" Eggman says.
"This is it, everyone! Don't hold anything back!"
Amy brings out her Piko Hammer, "We're ready when you are, Sonic!"
Eve then brings out her sword, "Bring it on!"
And soon, everyone begins charing at Eggman's robot and begins to attack it with all their might and force. They use their attacks, weapons, and all kinds to battle the Egg Emperor. They soon find themselves in an area with cannons. Some of the team members begin to destroy the cannon while the others take on Eggman's robots. Because so many are attacking it at once, the robot ends up being easily defeated.
Eggman screams, "Defeated! Impossible! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!"
Soon, Eggman's robot falls over and crashes to the ground. Soon, Dr. Eggman falls out of the Egg Emperor and like before, a spring comes out of Eggman's stomach and the model of Eggman's head appears. Soon enough, a lot of the Egg Fleet aircrafts begin to blow up one by one. Everyone watches the fleet being destroyed from the Egg Fortress.
"Talking about cutting it really short," Eve says.
"Yeah. We really had our work cut out," Knuckles says.
"Maybe so, but we all did a great job," Sonic says.
"We sure did," Amy says.
"Yes, but," Fiona says, and turns to the Dr. Eggman that's been inside the Egg Emperor robot. Soon, the fake melted away into his strange liquid.
"Guess he was a fake after all…" Vector says.
"What do you mean?" Saffron asks.
"Well everyone, I say it's about time we figure out this mystery," Vector says. He walks ahead and says, "Follow me."
Soon enough, all the five teams follow Vector and the Chaotix until they reach a large steel like door.
"Why did you lead us here?" Cosmo asks.
"Elementary dear Cosmo. This is where we're going to get all of the answers," Vector says.
Espio looks at the door and says, "Hmm, it appears to be sealed from the outside, but no way to unlock it."
Soon, Omega steps forward, "Then allow me to make an entryway."
Omega then throws his fists at the door until the door breaks off and falls to the ground.
Vector steps, "We're here to save you. Dr. Eggman, I presume."
And to the shocking discovery, inside the locked room is Dr. Eggman, holding the same walkie talkie Vector has.
"What's going on?" Nic asks.
"What's up?" Charmy asks, surprised.
Shocked, Eggman says, "You knew it was me all along, didn't you?"
"It's all part of being a good detective," Vector says.
"Wait a minute, he's the client who asked for you?" Fiona asks.
"Fraid so," Vector says.
"You're rotten!" Charmy shouts.
Just then, Eggman says, "Hey hold on, Chaotix! It's no trick and besides I plan on paying you. You'll be rewarded handsomely for helping me! As soon as I conquer the world, I will pay you!"
The five teams stare at Eggman with dumbfounded expressions.
"Oh brother," Rouge says, rolling her eyes.
"Like that will ever happen," Amy says.
Team Chaotix on the other hand are very displeased.
Vector cracks his knuckles, "Some nerve promising what you ain't got!"
"We've been had," Espio says.
Eggman steps back nervously, "It's just… wait a minute, just listen to me!"
"Take this you BAD MAN!" Charmy says and begins tackling him with his stinger, multiple times.
Everyone simply watches as Charmy stings Eggman like crazy.
"Um do you think we should stop him?" Maria asks, concerned.
"Nah. I think it will teach Eggman a good lesson for what we put us through," Nic says.
"But still, something doesn't seem right," Tails says.
"For once, I agree," Vector says.
Vector then grabs Charmy and pulls him away, "Alright Charmy, you did your part."
"But what?" Charmy asks.
"Because, although it's a good lesson to teach him for making promises he isn't going to keep, Eggman isn't really the one behind all that's been happening," Vector says.
"How can you be sure?" Cream asks.
"It's because of the locked door from the outside, and in this room, there isn't that much tech for him to work with," Sonic says.
"I have to agree on this one. Someone else put Eggman in this world, and carried out this plan. Whoever did it was not only the one who sealed Eggman in this room, but also kidnapped our friends, and sent Badniks after us. And have us fight against them," Eve says.
"That's right. There's a different Mastermind behind this," Vector says. Then points to Eggman, "And I think you know who. So then, who was it? Who locked you up here trying to conquer the world?"
Reluctantly, Eggman says, "It was…
But before he can answer, there is thunder and something going on outside.
"What was that?" Big asks.
"It came from outside!" Knuckles.
"He must be on the roof," Eggman says.
"He?" Sonic says, confused.
"Who are you talking about?" Eve asks.
Eggman sighs and says, "Neo Metal Sonic."
Hearing the name shock everyone, and soon hurry outside on the deck of the Egg Fleet. They all hurry over to see Neo Metal Sonic, standing on the top of the tower.
The robot, Neo Metal Sonic shares some distinctive traits with the original Metal Sonic, such as black eyes with red irises, a similar torso with a rocket engine in the center, and the primary blue color with red shoes. There are a number of differences that Neo Metal Sonic features as well. His head has five long quills as opposed to his regular three, with white stripes and markings around his eyes, similar to that of Shadow the Hedgehog. The yellow color in his ears has been replaced with red and his once gray nose is now black. However, he also possesses more pronounced body armor, with black and curved shoulder plates, larger gauntlets and leg armor with pointy kneecaps that have white outlines, a plate covering his pelvis and elf-like shoes. He also sports a spiky belt with a black cape that protrudes out of the back of his waist.
Seeing everyone gather, Neo Metal Sonic chuckles, "Hmmhmmhmmhmm... All living things kneel before your master!"
Neo Metal Sonic creates an electrifying plume of light from the palm of his hand and blows up the tower. Everyone watches in shock and horror as a vortex of bright light and smoke surrounds Neo Metal Sonic and soon goes into a transformation as he is large in size. Soon, Neo Metal Sonic has transformed into a large, blue, heavily-armed mechanical dragon, with two eyes lined up vertically on his head. He has several long spikes on his upper body and many smaller ones running down his back and his long, curved tail. He has a flamethrower as his right hand, and his left hand has four fingers with claws that can be launched. He has no legs in this form. Instead, his lower body is attached to the Final Fortress with several thick cables.
The metallic beast let out a deafening roar and spread across the area for miles.
