Zero Gravity Riders Episode 2: Babylon Rogues and Battle Bird Armada Reunion Part 1

Arriving at the Nightside Rush, in the middle of a rainstorm, the Babylon Rogues are in search of the MeteoTech Robots with the Ark of the Cosmos.

"Anything yet, Wave?" Jet asks.

"According to the tracker, the robot that has the Ark of the Cosmos should be around here," Wave says, holding the device to track the stones.

"Good. We should be able to find it," Jet says.

He then says to himself, "That old fool thought he would be able to find it. I remember the same smug look on the Battle Lord's face. I can't wait to wipe it off!"

Flashback: Years Ago

Many years ago, Jet, Wave, and Storm used to be part of the Battle Bird Armada. Jet has been called to see the Battle Lord himself.

"I must thank you for designing to answer my summons, Jet, as it seems obedience is not your defining quality," The Battle Lord says.

"I suppose-" Jet says.

The Battle Lord continues, "As Grand Battle Kukku the 15th and Battle Lord of the Mighty Battle Bird Armada, it is essential that those under my command obey without question in order to fulfill the great destiny that is before us."

"But…" Jet speaks up.

The Battle Lord turns and interrupts, "As all loyal members of our avian army avow, it is the sovereign right of we birds to dominate the sky and all beneath it! We are poised to strike! We need only to swoop…" and jumps to Jet as he places his hand on Jet's shoulder, "...And seize what is ours?"

"Ours-?" Jet questions.

"You have great skill, Jet, but you lack faith. Our mission will succeed when we have regained that which has been lost for so long," The Battle Lord adds.

"You mean-" Jet says.

"Yes!" The Battle Lord says, "The Great Relic of our ancestors. The Babylon Garden! We will find it together! And then the Armada will use its legendary power to subdue all who stand in our-"

But Jet removes the Battle Lord's hand and says, "Eh, you have fun with that." And begins to walk away, "Sorry, your Kukkuness, but dominating the world isn't what I signed up for. I mean, who wants that kind of responsibility? Finding the Babylon Garden does sound like a goal worthy of my efforts, though. Maybe I'll let you know when I find it."

"I admire your gall, but no one simply walks away from the Battle Bird Armada," the Battle Lord says with a stern look, "Perhaps some time in the brig will rekindle your fervor for our cause!"

And Jet doesn't seem to like the sound of it.

Flashback Ends:

"That old dodo. He'll see some fervor once we find the Ark of the Cosmos," Jet says.

"Yeah. We already found Babylon Gardens long before he did," Storm says.

"That's true, but we were only able to do so because we ended up getting involved with Eggman's schemes," Wave says.

"And we were the first to set foot on the Babylon Garden in centuries, long before the rise of the Battle Kukkus," Jet says.

"Talking about stuff like this sure brings back some memories. Like, you remember what happened when we found Babylon Gardens," Wave says.

"I remember. It's when we were taking part in the Grand Prix Eggman had us do it," Storm says.

Then says, "And it's around the time we met with those Freedom Fighters. And Eve."

"Yeah. that sounds about right," Jet says, blushing a bit.

"That's right. Your little girlfriend," Storm says.

"What was that?" Jet questions.

"Jet has a girlfriend," Storm teases.

Jet grits his teeth and raises his fist. He doesn't like to be teased about his relationship with Eve. Wave chuckles as she covers her mouth. Suddenly, she is reading and looking at her small device that is getting a signal.

"Jet, the Ark of the Cosmos is close by," Wave says.

Jet looks ahead, "I see it."

Up ahead, the Babylon Rogues see the SCR-GP robots up ahead and are rolling along the streets.

"After them! We have to get the Ark of the Cosmos from them!" Jet says.

With that, the Babylon Rogues ride their Extreme Gears to catch up with the MeteoTech Robots that are getting away with the gears. They continue to race through the streets, past the cars, through the tunnels and even riding on the railings to catch up with the MeteoTech robots. Soon enough, the rain stops falling from the sky as the Babylon Rogues leave the city and are heading to a different location.

Sometime later, The Babylon Rogues chase the robots into the Botanical Kingdom, a different city, and more specially the Botanical Cave that is full of tall plants and a giant greenhouse up ahead. Jet continues chasing three of the SCR-GP robots. Soon, they begin to take flight into the sky

"Heh, too slow!" Jet says, and activates the power of the stone.

He dives into the sky, and towards the robots. He knocks one of them into the giant house.

"Rrgh, lost it," Jet says angrily.

Inside the greenhouse's ground, the Ark of the Cosmos falls out of the robot's hand and shuts down, and suddenly, someone walks over and picks up the stone.

Outside of the greenhouse, Jen rides his Extreme Gear to the greenhouse to find the Ark of the Cosmos. Storm and Wave enter the greenhouse after him

"Jet!" Wave calls out.

Inside the greenhouse, Jet jumps off of the Extreme Gear and begins to search around.

"Where could that robot have crashed to?" Jet asks himself.

Jet begins to look around for the MeteoTech robot and the Ark of the Cosmos it has possessed.

"I just gotta find it. Wave, Storm, and I have worked too hard to find the Babylon Rogues and to reclaim the rights from our ancestors," Jet says to himself.

He sighs and says, "I remember the path we started on together."

Flashback:

Years ago, The Babylon Rogues made their escape from the Battle Bird Armada.

Wave grows frustrated, "Argh! If only we had some Extreme Gear!"

"This Clunky Zeppelin will have to do for now," Jet says.

He then asks, "You guys sure you want to tag along with me?"

"You just busted us out of the brig!" Wave says with her arms crossed, "I'm not getting thrown right back in! Besides, Dr. Fukurokov threw me in there out of jealousy! I had every right to make improvements to his precious engines even if they were unauthorized!"

"I don't like gettin' thrown in the clink just 'cuz I clobber a 'superior officer'. I don't like superior officers. I do like you," Storm says.

"Fantastic! Jet says with confidence, "With our combined skills, we'll make these puffed up Armada idiots beg to have us back. We'll show the world what the descendants of Babylon can really do. And we will snatch the 'Great Destiny' right out from under the Battle Lord's Big Bulbous beak!"

Suddenly, someone shuts, "HEY!"

The group turns to see Speedy, "The guards are on their way. You're not going anywhere."

"Well, if it isn't the Winged Wunderkind. The Heir to the Air, Mr. Battle Kuku the 16th. How's it going, 'Speedy?'" Jet says in remark.

"You think you're pretty hot stuff, Dontcha, Jet?" Speedy questions.

Then angrily says, "Y'know, I used to think so too when you first joined the Armada. But I've come to realize you're just a… punk! With no sense of… of honor! Or… duty!"

Jet then turns to Wave and Storm, "Guys, fire up the Zeppelin! I'll be right there."

Wave and Storm do what Jet says and walk inside the aircraft.

Jet turns to Speedy and says, "Listen, kid. I know you gotta be loyal to your old man and all, but honor is for the dead, and duty is for idiots that are better off dead. All I'm interested in is glory. And your pop is only holding me back!"

"So you're just going to walk away from your commitment?! Go Rogue?! Speedy questions angrily, gritting his teeth and clenching his fists.

"That's about the size of it," Jet answers and walks away.

"I said, you're not going anywhere," Speedy says.

"Yeah. This is me, going anywhere I want," Jet says.

Speedy becomes so angry and rushes over to Jet to punch Jet.

But then, Jet grabs Speedy by his bandana and says, "You got spunk, kid, but you're out of our league."

Speedy is shaking a bit and soon softly asks, "Take me with you…"

"Sorry, kid. The Babylon Rogues are off to meet their destiny," Jet says and tosses Speedy to the ground. You've got to find your own destiny."

Flashback Ends:

"Our destiny," Jet says and looks at the Ark of the Cosmos on his wrist, "We Rogues have stuck together through thick and thin, and now it's going to pay off."

Jet continues to walk around the large greenhouse to find the Ark of the Cosmos. Once he's done, he plans to find the others so they can get them to Babylon Rogues.

At another part of the Botanical Kingdom, Jet is not the only one who is in the greenhouse, but for a different reason. Sonic, Eve, Tails, and Knuckles are able to hide in the giant greenhouse. There are so many different giant plants that it's a perfect hiding place from the MeteoTech robots. They watch as the robots fly over the greenhouse, searching for them.

"They don't give a guy a break, huh?" Sonic says.

"We can't just stand around here!" Knuckles says.

"Knuckles' right. We can't stay here. They'll find us," Eve says.

"Ba…" Shun replies, and reaches Eve's face to touch it.

"Right!" Sonic says. Suddenly, someone grabs him from behind, "Whoa!"

Someone has their hands covering Sonic's eyes and says, "Guess who!"

Sonic turns his head to see, "Amy!? What are you doing here!?"

"Fated lovers are always drawn together, silly," Amy happily says.

"Amy…" Sonic says, annoyed.

Then Amy admits, " OK you got me. I was running away from those robots. I was so scared…" and jumps onto Sonic.

Sonic yelps, "H-hey…"

Soon, one of the mysterious stones, the Ark of the Cosmos falls to the ground. This one has a pink rim with hot pink circles.

"What's that?" Tails asks, noticing the stone.

The cause of all my troubles!" Amy answers and picks up the stone, "I picked it up and those stupid robots came after me!"

Eve looks at the stone and recognizes it, "Wait a minute, I've seen this stone before."

"You have?" Knuckles asks.

"Yes. I remember seeing it on the news. They said that it was stolen by a MeteoTech Robot," Eve says.

Then Tails says, "So that's it! Those robots must be after this stone!"

"And that must be the reason why they came after us. They're after the stones that Tails found," Eve says, and holds out the stone Eve is wearing her wrist.

"You're right. The robots must have seen the stones that we have and went after us," Sonic says, showing the stone he has.

"It's no wonder they've been chasing us," Knuckles says.

Then Sonic says, "I guess that settles it, then. The key to solving this mystery is MeteoTech!"

"We should head there right away," Eve says.

Just then, Knuckles says, "Hey, guys! We've got company!"

Everyone looks ahead to see the MeteoTech robots, SCR-GP robots heading right towards them.

"OK... Here we go!" Sonic says.

With that, Sonic, Eve, and the others hurry off to get away from the robots and make their way to MeteoTech to solve the mystery of the stones and the robot rampage.

Unknown to the group, Jet has watched and listened to the entire conversation. What makes Jet furious is that the Ark of the Cosmos he is planning to get has already been found by Amy, and Sonic and Eve are with them. Then Wave touches Jet's shoulder. Jet turns to see Wave and Storm.

"You two!" Jet says.

"I heard them, too. Let's circle on ahead of them and gather information," Wave says.

Jet stands up and says, "Tch, just wait Sonic the Hedgehog. You won't be calling yourself the world's fastest for long!"

And with that, the Babylon Rogues begin to ride out of the greenhouse from the other direction. Unknown to both of the groups, the Battle Bird Armada airship has been secretly spying on them. In the deck, the screen shows the Babylon Rogues on one and Jet has the Ark of the Cosmos in his possession. The second monitor shows Sonic, Eve and her friends, and it shows that Sonic, Eve, and Amy have one as well.

"So, it seems the Babylon Rogues already have one of the Ark of the Cosmos. And it appears that the Freedom Fighters managed to obtain three of them," The Battle Lord says.

"Shall I send the soldiers after them," Speedy asks.

"No," The Battle Lord says.

"But father, the Freedom Fighters are enemies of the Armada, especially that twin tailed freak. They have three of the Arks of the Cosmos. We can capture them if we catch them off guard," Speedy explains.

"I actually have another plan in mind to get the stones from them," The Battle Lord says.

Then look at the screen of the Rogues, "I believe Jet and the other Rogues will be the key to gathering the other stones."

Speedy is questionable about his father's plan, but suspects that this plan might require the Babylon Rogues help, even if he doesn't like it.

Meanwhile, the Babylon Rogues are traveling the other way to get to MeteoTech Company and see if they can get there before Sonic, Eve, and the others do.

"From what you say, it does appear that Sonic, Eve, and the pink hedgehog, Amy, have already found three of them. Which means we'll need to find three more," Wave says.

"Seems so. I want to make sure that pink girl hands the Ark of the Cosmos she took," Jet says.

"Yeah. And we'll be seeing Sonic while we're adding it. Including Eve," Jet says.

Jet glares at Jet, "Don't even start."

"Focus Jet, we need to get to MeteoTech before they do," Wave says.

"I know I know. I'm going to prove to Sonic once in for all who's the fastest," Jet says.

Storm looks ahead and notices something, "Uh, boss?"

He points his finger up, "Those guys are in our way."

Jet and Wave turn to where Storm is pointing. They along with Storm bring their gears to a stop. Who they see is Speedy along with the army of the Battle Bird Armada.

Speedy says, "Hello, Babylon Rogues. It's time to meet your destiny."
