Okay, so I haven't updated in over a year, but my computer has not been able to work since last fall, so I haven't been able to write since then. But I got my computer back yesterday, so I am just buzzing to write. As a way to make it up to all my faithful readers, I will take request on which deviant art story I should continue first, and upload here on .

But I will say thank you for the reviews. I know I haven't written in a while, but I am back now, so bear with me.

Okay, so onto the reviews. Plenty of great questions, and suggestions. All I can say is, keep reading, because I haven't totally figured out yet on where to take my story next, but I am glad that you're all enjoying my story. Now, onto the chapter.

Chapter 22: Scheming

After Spinelli walked away with Ashley A, she left the gang speechless. She was acting like a completely different person than the one who was supposed to be their friend. She was behaving the exact opposite of herself, as the embodiment of everything she hated. An Ashley.

"Okay, if no one else is going to say it, I will. Spinelli has gone bonkers." Vince was the first one to speak.

"Bonkers is not the word for it, Vince. She has gone insane, and I bet the Ashleys' are behind this." T.J stated.

"Oh, what a tragedy. We have officially lost our dear Spinelli, and to the Ashleys'." Mikey ever the poet said dramatically."

"She was behaving rather odd, but my dad has always said that people do change, when the circumstances call for it." Gus said.

"Yeah, but to that degree where she's turned into a completely different person."

"Actually, T.J. According to my calculations, Gus' dad might be on to something. People do change after reaching a certain age." Gretchen stated with her facts.

"But they're not Spinelli. She would never change that much, in such a short amount of time, and she would definitely never become an Ashley. They stand for everything she hates. They must have done something to her."

"Okay, but then what would you call it, Teej, since you seem to be convinced that something happened to her." Vince asked. It's not like he or the others wanted to believe that Spinelli had changed, but their proof stood right in front of them. Whether they wanted to believe it or not, Spinelli had changed. Had become an Ashley. It was not like the rest of them were thrilled at the prospect, but T.J. was the one most upset about the news. In Vince's mind, he always believed that T.J. and Spinelli had crushes on each other throughout the fourth to sixth grade, but T.J. always denied it, so he let it go.

"Brainwashing. What else. Ashley A has clearly brainwashed Spinelli, and now we have to save her."

"Don't you think that's a little extreme. Even for an Ashley." Vince asked skeptical.

"For an Ashley. Never."

"But why would they want to brainwash Spinelli. They don't even like her." Gus asked.

"To turn her into one of them, so that she doesn't 'embarrass' them by sharing the same first name as them. They tried it before."

"I'm not sure that brainwashing is even a possibility, T.J. It just seems far fetched that a 12-year-old girl could brainwash another girl. I still believe that Spinelli simply changed this summer due to circumstances and environment. Being around someone like Ashley A for 3 months, and only having her as company would be bound to make Spinelli change." Gretchen stated.

"Maybe you're right, Gretch. But in that case, we just need to get Spinelli alone, and remind her of who she really is, and then she'll snap out of her Ashley persona."

"One problem with your plan, Teej. What makes you think that the Ashleys' will ever let her out of their sight. They're like sharks. Now that they actually managed to turn her into one of them, fat chance of them ever letting her out of their sight." Vince claimed.

"Oh c'mon, you guys." T.J stated. "They can't be around her 24/7. Whose to say that all of their classes will be with her, and I can always talk to her when school is over. As long as the rest of us stick together no matter what. Deal."

"Deal." The others said.

Meanwhile…

After dropping Spinelli off at her soon-to-be old house, Ashley A begun to call the remaining Ashleys', asking them to come over, so that they could work on a plan to separate Spinelli's old friends, so that they wouldn't ruin her hard work.

Eventually, the four of them were gathered at Ashley A's house, discussing the gang.

"Okay, Ashleys,' any ideas." Ashley A asked. She had an idea herself, but wanted to hear what the others had to say.

"Why don't we, like, get them in trouble, and make them transfer schools. Problem solved." Ashley Q suggested.

"Or just get them in detention." Ashley T chipped in.

"Or just ignore them, and never leave Ashley S's side at any point." Ashley B mentioned.

"Ashleys,' Ashleys,' Ashleys,' I, like, already have a plan in mind." Ashley A stated. "We will, like, totally separate the five riff raffs."

"And how are we, like, going to do that?" Ashley B questioned her leader.

Simple, AB. We'll, like, totally sign them up for different extracurricular activities." Ashley A answered. "That way, they'll, like, be too busy to care about Ashley S, and we'll have her all to ourselves, without anyone nosing in our business. Otherwise, we'll go along with AT's plan, and then AB's plan."

"SCANDALOUS." They all yelled in unison.

Next up: The Ashleys' set their plan into motion, while T.J tries to get through to Spinelli, and perhaps gets an inside.

So, that was it for Ch. 22. Hope you all enjoyed it.

Okay, so this chapter took me a couple of days to write, but I got through it. A bit shorter than my usual chapters, but I didn't feel like there should be more to the chapter than this.

Anyway, as always, Please R/R and let me know what you think.

I do not own Recess or its characters.
