Hello everyone I'm back again to bring you another chapter; just to warn you this chapter is going to be a little slower so not much action but I still hope you all enjoy it. Now with that out of the way let's begin.

Loyalty and Lies: Chapter 7

Konoha 2 weeks after the coup

Naruto, Hinata and Hanabi were all walking down the streets of Konoha; Hinata insisted on doing some grocery shopping and asked Naruto to come along with Hanabi following as well as she did not want to be alone in the house. Naruto has grown to enjoy their company; Hanabi for the first few days tended to Naruto while he healed and Hinata used her basic knowledge of cooking made meals for both her sister and Naruto.

Naruto while grateful also felt a little uncomfortable; he had never had anyone live with him before other than Sai and Shin and that was still very recent. Now he had 2 girls living with him and that made him more uncomfortable especially since the only other females he ever interacted with was Mikoto and Izumi; simple things like putting the toilet seat down and girl clothing now being in his closets were so alien to him.

As Naruto looked around he saw civilians trying to return to their normal lives; Naruto looked at them with disdain as they walked by. If Fugaku didn't use that genjutsu to make them forget about his existence he wouldn't be walking down this street right now; if he was the same boy he was when Fugaku found him he would've been insulted or chased away by this point. Even after hiding in the shadows for all these years Naruto still held his contempt for the villagers; now he was just another faceless kid that unknown to them could destroy the village at his leisure.

"You ok Naru" Hanabi said holding Naruto's hand "you look angry" she said.

Naruto sighed "sorry just some bad memories" he said.

"I-I'm sorry Naru" Hanabi said regretting asking; she then felt Naruto pat her head and smile at her.

"It's ok Hanabi" he said; as the 3 continued walking Hinata stopped them.

"H-how about w-we eat here first" Hinata said as they stopped in front of a ramen shop.

Upon entering they were greeted by a old man and his daughter "good morning; welcome to Ichiraku ramen kids" the old man said "have a seat we'll be with you in a minute" he said. Naruto sat down with Hanabi and Hinata on both sides of him; when they sat down the daughter of the ramen chef came forwars and spoke.

"So how are you 3 doing" she asked "are you 3 okay; from the attack 2 weeks ago" she asked; Hinata spoke.

"Y-yes we are doing nicely" she said "w-we are recovering and it's all thanks to Naruto" she said gesturing to the blonde boy sitting next to her.

"Naru came and saved us from the monster and then went out to fight it" Hanabi chimed in as Ayame looked shocked at the blonde boy in front of her; she then saw he had a leaf headband on his right bicep.

Naruto feeling a little uncomfortable in the spotlight of the situation spoke "I fought it with all my might but I still almost di- … lost" he said correcting himself. When he returned after the battle Hanabi and Hinata cried over him in his bloody battered state; since then, he's been trying to avoid saying he nearly died, although it was mostly due to the unsealing and resealing of the fox. "I'm just grateful that the fox is gone and I survived" he said.

Ayame and Teuchi looking at the young shinobi were speechless; someone so young fighting a demon like that and surviving. Teuchi then placed 3 bowls of ramen in front of the 3 and spoke "eat up kids; first bowl is on us" he said. Hinata and Hanabi began to eat their food while Naruto looked at the bowl in front of him.

'I think this is the first time I've ever ate at a restaurant' he thought as he tried to remember if he had ever done so before; he doesn't recall. Naruto then picked up his chopsticks and began to eat; upon finishing his first bite he looked at Teuchi and Ayame "this is very good" he said with a small smile "ramen is my favorite food and this is the best I've ever eaten" he said softly.

Teuchi and Ayame smiled at that "well we are always open so come back Naruto…" Ayame said as Naruto caught what he was trying to do.

"Uchiha" Naruto said "I'm the adopted son of the new Hokage" he said as he continued to eat his food.

With Fugaku and Mikoto

Fugaku and Mikoto were lying in bed as they finally had their first day of relaxation since the attack. Mikoto had her head on Fugaku's chest as he was fast asleep; all that transpired over the past few months has really taken its toll on him.

The coup, Sasuke's death, Itachi's betrayal and the Kyuubi had worn him down. Fugaku being named the new Hokage to replace the void that was left after Hiruzen's death didn't help either.

Mikoto kissed Fugaku and he opened his eyes to see Mikoto smiling lightly at him; "morning my love" she said softly as Fugaku wrapped his arm her and pulled her closer to him.

"Good morning Mikoto" Fugaku said as he kissed her forehead "it's peaceful isn't it; the morning calm" he said as he looked out the window.

"Yes, it is" she said as she got off Fugaku and got out of bed; Mikoto putting on her cloths looked at Fugaku "how is Naruto and your experiment going" she said as Fugaku following his wives lead began to put on his cloths as well.

"Very well" Fugaku said zipping up his police jacket "we should be finished by tomorrow and ready the day after according to Tetsuo" he said. Mikoto looked at him worriedly.

"Will Naruto be alright" she asked "I know he's willing to do it but will there be any negative effects" she asked. Fugaku then moved over and wrapped his arms around Mikoto.

"Naruto will be fine" he said "he survived being unsealed and resealed with the Kyuubi; he can most definitely handle it. I would not risk the life of my son recklessly" he said. Mikoto still a little worried nodded her head; she then strapped her Katana to her back and began to walk to the door.

"I'll be gone for a while" she said turning around "Naruto said he was going with Hinata and Hanabi this morning; they should be back home by now. I'm going to see if Hinata and Hanabi want to have a mother daughter day out" she said as Fugaku chuckled.

"Only known those girls for 2 weeks and you already adopted them" he said making Mikoto huff.

"Those girls have no role model" she said holding her hands to her hips "both of those girls had that bastard Hiashi as a father; they need a positive influence in their lives" she said as she opened the door. "I'm simply doing what you did for Naruto" she said as she closed the door.

Fugaku finished collecting his gear and began to exit the house and start walking to the hokage tower; he then replayed what Mikoto said to him and he looked back fondly at his memories with Naruto. Teaching Naruto hand-to-hand combat, kunai throwing, how to read and write, going on missions outside Konoha to kill bandits.

Fugaku smiled at the memories as he looked at the Hokage monument 'Naruto; one day you will take my place as Hokage and continue the legacy we have built' he thought as he continued to the Hokage tower.

With Sai

Sai was drawing another picture of his brother; it has been a few weeks but the wounds of Shin's death were still raw. As he once again messed up the drawing, he crumpled the paper and threw it aside. Sai let out a sigh and began to collect his drawing materials; he then heard crying and he began to walk towards it.

Upon reaching the source of the crying he saw a pink haired girl with a red ribbon crying behind a tree; Sai seeing no harm I her decided to make his presence known.

"Salutations miss" he said making the girl jump "I heard you crying and I thought you might be hurt" he said with a fake smile.

The girl being a little creeped out by the pale boy spoke "no I'm not hurt" she said "I-I'm crying because… my… my mommy and daddy died" she said which made Sai drop his smile." I was staying at my friend Ino's house and the monster destroyed my house and killed my parents" she said wiping away her tears with a handkerchief "Ino and her mom are letting me live with them but I'm still sad… I miss them" she said as she began to cry again.

Sai looking at the crying girl took in a deep breath "I too lost someone" he said getting the girls attention "I recently lost my brother shin; we were not blood related, even so he was still the closest thing I had to a family" he said pulling out a sketch book and showing a drawing of Shin.

"Do you have anyone" the girl asked "a friend or anybody else" Sai nodded to the girls question.

"I do" he said "my friend Naruto; we've only known each other for a little while but I consider him my best friend. Even though he's my only friend" Sai said as he smiled a small genuine smile.

The pink haired girl blushed lightly at the boy as she stood up and spoke "w-well if you'd like we could be friends" she said catching Sai off guard. Sai looked at the girl and had a thought about how much happier Naruto has been since those 2 Hyuga girls started living with him.

"Sure, that sounds nice" he said holding out his hand "my names Sai; and yours is?"

"Sakura Haruno" she said grabbing the boys' hand and shaking it her stomach then grumbled and she looked sheepish.

"Do you want to go eat" Sai said "I have a little bit of money if you don't have any."

"That would be great" she said her sad mood now gone and replaced by happiness. Sakura and Sai then began to walk back into the village both sharing stories of their departed loved ones; both finding solace in each other's company.

1 week later

Otogakure

With Fu

Fu was sitting in her room in the village hidden in the sound; when 2 of the legendary Sanin Jiraya and Tsunade came to Takigakure to seek assistance she had no idea she was going to be playing a part in what ever plan they were concocting. Fu hasn't lived the best life she has been shunned and hated by her village for as long as she could remember; it was because of the Chomei that was sealed inside her. She didn't understand why the villagers couldn't see that she was just the vessel not the demon.

She then moved her hand to the seal that was placed on the back of her neck; the village elders placed it on her before leaving the village to ensure Jiraya had control over her. It also acted as a beacon so if she ever tried to escape, she would be hunted down and captured.

Fu then curled up into a ball and began to silently cry; hoping that what ever she was dragged away for will be quick so she can go back to her life of isolation.

With Gaara

"Yes mother don't you worry" Gaara said to no one in particular "I will find more victims, I will kill more enemies, I will ensure my existence" he said. Gaara sat alone in his room in Oto; Jiraya of the Sanin came to Suna to ask for assistance in trying to reclaim Konoha from the hands of the Uchiha clan. The Kazekage agreed to help out by sending Gaara; while the boy was unstable he was Suna's most powerful military asset and would give Jiraya and his allies a much needed wild card in the coming battle. The Kazekage only requested that Konoha give Suna land that's better suited for farming and one of Konoha's bloodlines as payment. Jiraya reluctantly agreed to the terms as he needed all the help he could get.

Gaara then began to meditate as his gourd turned to sand and began to circle him as he sat in a meditative position.

With Jiraya

Jiraya was facing Orochimaru, Tsunade, Itachi, Asuma Sarutobi, Might Guy, and the anbu operative Tenzo who was going by the name 'Yamato'. Itachi and Shizune found Asuma in the fire country capital; upon hearing that his father was killed and the Uchiha clan had taken control of Konoha he resigned his postiton as a member of the guardian 12 and joined Jiraya.

Might Guy was found by chance by Jiraya and Tsunade; Guy was out of the leaf village on a mission in the land of rivers. When Jiraya and Tsunade asked for his assistance, he did not hesitate to join them in their endeavor. He just hoped his longtime rival Kakashi was still alive.

Lastly Yamato was found when he escaped Konoha shortly after the coup; he was pursued by multiple Uchiha and Anbu but was able to lose them. While he was not excited to be working with Orochimaru as he was the reason he went through so much pain during his childhood due to his experimentations; he was more than willing to join forces as the Uchiha seemed to be a bigger threat.

"Now that I got you all here we can begin" Jiraya said gaining all their attention "as you all know 3 weeks ago the Uchiha clan led by Fugaku launched a coup during the Kyuubi attack. While I do think that the attack and the coup were connected I do not think that it was Fugaku's intention to let the beast loose on the village" he said as everyone nodded as they all believed that Fugaku could not be that heartless.

"But that being said I do believe Fugaku was partly responsible due to the fact that Naruto; the missing Kyuubi container was present during the attack and assisted Fugaku during the coup" he said as Asuma raised his hand.

"You said this Naruto kid was missing" Asuma said confused "why was he there and what does this have to do with Fugaku" he asked.

"I believe Fugaku kidnapped the boy, brain washed him and has been using him as an agent for the past couple years" he said as Guy, Yamato and Asuma looked at him with shock. When Itachi found out from Jiraya that his father has been using Naruto as a weapon he felt both anger and guilt; anger at his father for manipulating a young vulnerable boy and guilt because it had been going on under his nose for years. If Itachi found out about it sooner then he could've done something.

"We don't have time to worry about that brat Jiraya" Orochimaru said causing Jiraya to glare at him "we have to worry about defeating Fugaku and his clan before they begin what ever they are planning" he said as Jiraya still looking at him nodded.

"Yes" Jiraya said steeling himself "from what I've been able to gather Konoha is still shaken up from the attack; lots of shinobi are dead or injured which means the villages defenses are weakened. So we must strike soon before Iwa or Kumo decide to take the initiative and invade" he said as everyone nodded as that made sense.

"So, what do you propose we do" Guy said as Jiraya spoke.

"In 3 days we attack the leaf village, remove the Uchiha from power, rescue Naruto and restore order" Jiraya said as everyone looked at him anxiously. "While we may be attacking the leaf we are only doing what is necessary to save it; our biggest threats in the village are Fugaku Uchiha, Shibi Aburame, Mikoto Uchiha and Naruto Uzumaki. Once we kill Fugaku, Shibi, and Mikoto and free Naruto the village resistance will crumble and we can take the village without issue" he said.

Everyone in the room was in silent agreement as there was no other way to remove the Uchiha; Yamato then spoke up and asked "what do we have in terms of people and logistics" he asked and Tsunade answered.

"We have 2,000 sound shinobi from the rank of Genin to Jounin; Suna and Taki both lent us their demon vessels under the condition that they be returned upon the missions' completion. We have 4 S-Rank ninja, 5-A rank ninja along with a multitude of other skilled shinobi" she said as everyone looked at her.

"But still" Tsunade continued "we are facing about 5,000 Konoha shinobi, Fugaku a Kage level ninja, Shibi Aburame and Mikoto Uchiha 2 S-class shinobi and Naruto the vessel of the 9 tails. Let me be clear that Fugaku is on par with Minato Namikaze and Naruto hold the most powerful of the tailed beasts. In all honesty out chances of victory isn't certain so we must ensure that either Naruto or Fugaku is taken out first to even the playing field" she said as Jiraya nodded.

"I agree" Jiraya said "that is why both Gaara and Fu will be under Yamato's command and be tasked with taking Naruto out of the fight. With the 1 tail and the 7 tails we have a chance of beating him if he used the fox's power" he said as Yamato nodded agreeing to the plan. "While that is happening me, Tsunade ,Orochimaru and Itachi will take out Fugaku; I hope that with our combined strength we can defeat him or at least hold him off long enough for Naruto to lend us his power" he finished.

Orochimaru then voiced up "when do we commence the operation" he asked to which Jiraya looked back at his old comrade.

"3 days" Jiraya said "we've already given them 3 weeks and the longer we wait the more difficult it will be" Jiraya said. Orochimaru nodded and began to walk out.

"I have some final preparations to finish" he said "it will be our back up plan just incase something goes wrong" he said as he closed the door behind him.

Jiraya seeing Orochimaru leave the room felt a chill run up his spine; he did not like working with Orochimaru but if it meant saving Naruto then he'll do it. Jiraya then looked at the remaining people in the room and spoke "meeting dismissed; go prep yourselves for the operation" he said as everyone began to exit the room.

'Be patient Naruto; I'm coming to rescue you' Jiraya thought as he walked back to his quarters. Unbeknownst to anyone in the room there was a small beetle present during the whole meeting.

In Konoha at the same time

Naruto was sharpening his sword in his living room; Hanabi asleep so he and Hinata had some time to themselves, Hinata was currently making some tea. He looked at his bandaged left hand as he flexed it.

'Still a bit stiff' Naruto thought 'I hope it gets better soon; I can only practice for about 2 hours before it starts hurting' he thought as he went back to sharpening his sword.

"Y-your tea Naruto" Hinata said approaching Naruto handing him his cup.

"Thanks, Hinata" Naruto said smiling at her; Naruto liked having Hinata around as she usually brightened up his day. Naruto then remembered that Mikoto often did the same thing for Fugaku when he was working in the Hokage tower. Naruto looked at Hinata and spoke "you will defiantly make a great wife someday" he said complementing the girl as he refocused on sharpening his sword.

If he saw Hinata he would've saw a girl as red as a tomato walking to the table in the dining area to process her thoughts 'wife?Me? Naruto want's me to be his wife' she thought as she looked back at the blonde boy. 'I like him but it's too soon. We barely know each other' she thought as a million scenarios rushed through her mind.

Unknown to either of them Hanabi was awake and heard the whole interaction 'Naru wants to marry big sister' she said in her mind 'no way I'm going to marry Naru and that's that' she thought as she sneakily walked back to her room.

Naruto then felt a strange feeling wash over him but quickly ignored it as he felt no malice or ill will. As he looked back at his hand he had a thought 'I pray to god I never have to use this' he thought as he sheathed his sword and prepared to go to bed.

In Naruto's room

As Naruto got into bed, he closed his eyes; as he slept, he was plagued by a nightmare that defied explanation. The 9 tailed fox was staring at a Giant beetle; the 2 were having a stare down until the Kyuubi spoke.

"Chomei; what brings you here" Kyuubi said as the Beetle spoke.

"Kurama; we came to talk to you and your host" The beetle said as it turned to Naruto who froze in fear "Do not be afraid child; I come to give you a warning" it said to which Naruto looked confused.

"A warning; about what" he asked as the Beetle responded.

"My host Fu is in peril; in 3 days' time she'll be forced to fight you against her will" the beetle said as Naruto looked at it with interest "I beseech you to not kill her; she is not a wicked person like the vessel of the one tails. I ask that you defeat her without killing her" The beetle said as Kyuubi began to laugh.

"What a foolish request" The Kyuubi roared "My host will kill your insignificant vessel and-" The Kyuubi stopped as Naruto activated his sharingan and began to torture the fox with mental anguish. Naruto the turned to the Beetle and bowed.

"I will do my best to help this girl Fu" he said as the Beetle bowed as well.

"I thank you good sir; and please keep Kurama on a tight leash he has the most volatile personality" the Beetle said as Naruto nodded.

Naruto then woke up in a cold sweat; Naruto's mind was rushing as he was not sure if what just happened was a dream or not. Naruto taking a moment to compose himself began to throw on his clothes and ran out of his house to inform Fugaku.

'I don't know if that was real or not; but I'm not going to take any chances' Naruto thought.

With Fu

Fu awoke from her meditative state and to look around her room 'Did it work' she asked inside her mind.

"Yes child" the 7 tails responded "I informed the host of the 9 tails; he agreed to help free you from your bondage of servitude" it said as Fu let out a tear of joy. "Rest now Fu; a girl needs her rest" the 7 tails said.

As Fu entered her bed and fell asleep, she had a smile on her face as she knew soon, she will finally be free.
