A/N: My second Danny Phantom fanfiction, and most definitely not my last. I have so many plot bunnies so I may post a chapter here, a new story there but I will try to update both fics often and the others that may come. This is slightly AU, where Phantom Planet does not exist because this fics plot doesn't work if the PP episode was present. Please Read.

Listen to Your Heart - Chapter 1

Another battle ensued; Vlad Plasmius and Danny Phantom were once again involved in one of their famous fights.
Vlad sent Danny flying into a large billboard. Danny picked himself up throwing Vlad multiple ghost rays managing to injure him but as if planned, Vlad suddenly teleported behind Danny and delivered a hard kick to the ghost boy's back, sending him flying backwards hitting the ground.
Vlad descended below nearing his enemy. "You are pathetic Daniel; your powers are no match for mine, I have over 20 years of experience. You should have joined me; I could have taught you things that may have taken you years to manage."
Wiping of blood that began trickling down his mouth, Danny lifted himself up and spat out, "I would never join you, never in a million years."
Chuckling, Vlad came closer to Danny, who was already up and prepared for any blows that may come. "You're so amusing Daniel, what makes you think I would want you anymore. No my dear boy, I have had it with you and I plan to finish you and your idiot father off. I will get Maddie, even if it means destroying you in the process."
Duplicating himself, Vlad began attacking Danny. Danny who was already worn out from the last attack could not withstand the unexpected brutality of Vlad's attacks, he was sent crashing down reverting back to human form.

Vlad stood next to Danny's bleeding form, Danny was unconscious. He lifted his foot to deliver a final blow, but something in the back of his mind didn't allow him to do it.
'Can I actually kill him? Can I actually kill this boy I once considered like a son?'
His thoughts raced. He was torn between committing the final act and an unexpected emotion which he could not identify.
'No, I can not' He sighed.
As if seeing the boy's beaten body for the first time, he felt utter guilt. Gashes and bruises marred the once unblemished skin of his enemy. He looked at Danny with sympathetic eyes, no matter what he tried to convince himself to do; he could not will himself to kill Danny Phantom.
Making that decision, he flew Danny back home. He fazed through Danny's room, gathering some new clothing for him to wear once he wakes.
Reverting back to human form, Vlad gently coved Danny in the boy's own sheets with unexpected kindness which shown in his eyes.
"What am going to do with you Daniel?" He asked more to himself.
Transforming back to Plasmius he cast one more long glance at Danny before he left.

A/N: A bit longer then my usual first chapters, I plan on finishing the third chapter of 'Redemption' soon. I hope you liked this chapter, DP fics are so much fun to write.
