Their love was strong, perhaps stronger than any opponent they had ever faced.
Judai was no stranger to passion. As a matter of fact, he had a passion for many things, not the least of which being his passion for dueling. Eating and sleeping were also high on his list, but at the end of the day, Judai had been born to duel. While his friends dueled for fun, Judai dueled to live. It wasn't a matter of want so much as necessity. And so Judai dueled, and he dueled confident. Because she would always duel right beside him, no matter what.
This was a passion of a different sort. Judai could call it love, but that one word seemed lacking somehow, inadequate. Of course. Judai was often inadequate. It was nothing new to him. He could never spin gold out of poetry or paint heaven in watercolor. His mathematical skills could hardly be called skills, and even in sports, he was far from the top of his class. All he was ever good at was dueling. But she understood that, and he needed no justifications. Yes, certainly, this was passion.
They were always together. It seemed like nary a moment went by that Judai wasn't holding her, standing with her. For indeed, when they were together, they were always touching. They were simple gestures, she would hang off his arm and he would proudly display her for entire crowds, but they were honest, and they were meaningful. They didn't touch each other for the eyes of others, but for themselves. It was a need that occasionally grew painful when they were apart, but that only made those stolen moments all the more special.
Standing out on the beach as the sun slowly climbed down in the rosy sky, he held the love of his life in his arms, smiling. Truly, his usual façade as the hero who would always conquer the day was never any truer than right at that moment. The sun glinted off of her card slots beautifully, and he stared down with all of the love in the world shining in his eyes.
"I love you, duel disk."
And she didn't reply, but that was alright. She would always be there, and that was what mattered.
JUDAI/DUEL DISK OTP FOREVA.
Yes, really. To be completely honest, I just wrote this because I'm tired of all of the stupid pairing wars in this fandom. As if I care whether or not you ship Asuka/Yubel/Hayato's dad/Tome/that dude from the Notebook/Judai. Just let other people ship what they want and quit chucking a psycho over pointless crap. And for that matter, this applies to all of the arguments in this fandom. Sub Vs. Dub, Het Vs. Slash, to OC or not to OC, whatever. You're wasting about as much time arguing as I did writing this piece of trash story.
Scary ranting aside, I see a lot of untapped potential in this. And that pun was completely intended.
