*This might be the second-to-last chapter, with an epilogue after this. Note: Long chapter.
*IMPORTANT!: I use Gizmo's real name in this, found off articles. Also, in the comics, Gizmo becomes leader (assumed- not directly stated) after Jinx leaves the H.I.V.E. Also, See-More isn't seen much with the H.I.V.E in the comics (though it's never SAID that he left) Remember these as you read.
DollyPop12: I know what you mean. None of them seemed genuinely evil, at least not like slade/brotherhood evil. Though I did 'ramp' up Gizmo for this.
DISCLAIMER: I do not own Teen Titans. Sadly. Otherwise I'd have the old show come back and not the newer version.

See-More and Kid Flash stood behind me as I turned to face the bedroom door, ready for the oncoming fight. I wasn't sure any of us really had any idea what was about to happen, but I knew for a fact it wasn't going to be pretty. I expected obliteration. I wanted the rest of the H.I.V.E gone from my life, whether that meant jail or something else. Whatever it took.
What I didn't expect, however, was the door to the bedroom blowing off its hinges only a few feet from where I stood.
As the door thudded to the ground, the room filled with the four (five, if you count Billy twice) people I least desired to see in the world. I immediately took a fighting stance; trusting See-More and Kid Flash to prepare themselves without my command. That was one of the benefits of the hero side: everybody was smart enough to know what to do.
"Long time no see, Jinx," Gizmo whined from his perch on his spider-like attachments. His eyes darted behind me. "I see you've earned yourself another traitor."
"What's wrong Gizmo? Come crawling back for me because you realized you're no good as a leader?" I retorted.
He fumed, not good at hiding emotions. "I'm a better leader of this team than you ever were!"
I rolled my eyes. "Look. I'll let you think what you want, but if you would please get out of my apartment, that would be great."
He laughed, and the rest of the team –sans Kyd Wykkyd, of course- joined in.
"Jinx, you've really gone soft if you think we're just going to leave without a fight," Gizmo said, wiping tears of laughter from his eyes.
"Then what are you waiting for?" I heard Kid Flash ask from behind me, his voice sounding every bit calm and collected.
Gizmo nodded, and the remaining members of the H.I.V.E came rushing towards us. Out of the corner of my eye, I watched as Kid Flash tackled Billy, trying to get him in control before he had the chance to multiply. See-More, on the other hand, was instantly toppled by both Kyd Wykkyd and Mammoth, who seemed hell-bent on getting their revenge on their most recently lost teammate. Gizmo, as expected, rushed towards me.
I ducked, just in time to miss the cold metal of one of his spider-like legs.
"You're not as intimidating out of uniform," he quipped, going for my legs with another swing of the leg.
I jumped over the device as simply as if it were a jump rope and threw a hex towards his body. "I don't have a uniform anymore, Mikron. I'm done with that part of my life. I've grown up."
Gizmo fumed, presumably from hearing is birth name for the first time in years. He swung at me again, and I dodged it, making my first mistake. The mechanical device broke through a bookshelf, the debris hitting Kid Flash square in the back.
"Kid!" I called, breaking my own rule of not showing emotion while in battle. The world seemed to stand still as I waited for Kid to respond. And I was lucky, ironically. Not even two seconds, Kid stood up and dove right back into the fight alongside See-More, calling back to me.
"I'm fine, Jinxie!" Even in battle, he didn't forget my pet name.
I turned back to Gizmo, suddenly enraged.
"Aw, what's the matter, Jinxie?" he taunted, stepping closer.
My skin grew hot, and I felt my eyes burn pink. "You did not just do that," I said, stepping forward slowly. "You cannot just come into my house, destroy my things, and hurt my boyfriend."
"Jinx, I'm not…" I heard Kid Flash call, and I got the impression that the rest of the room had gone completely still.
"Shut it."
"Yes ma'am,"
I resumed my tirade, my eyes still a fiery pink. "Just because I left your precious little ass without a leader, doesn't mean you can assume the position and come here for your pathetic little 'revenge'. I am still better than you will ever be, especially because I had the common sense to switch sides and not be stuck listening to the Brotherhood's orders my entire life. You have no right to be here, let alone on this planet. I want you out, now."
"Or else what?" Gizmo asked, and I noted a slight fear in his voice. "You'll sick your little boyfriend on me?"
I fumed. "Kid. Eyes."
Hoping he closed his eyes, I let loose, the heat from my body and eyes bursting out in a flash of pink, knocking Gizmo through the wall behind him and onto the pavement below.
"Holy shit!" See-More called from behind me. "What was that?"
"Years of built up anger," I answered, my breathing heavy. "Kid, go get Gizmo before he comes to."
"On it," he replied, running through the hole in the wall.
"Do you have the others?" I asked See-More.
"Billy's tied, Mammoth's down, and Wykkyd is…"
"Here," I said, feeling him behind me. I wasn't hyper-sensitive, but if Kyd Wykkyd was behind you, you'd know. His presence felt cold, like being thrown into the snow in nothing but your underwear.
"Listen, unless you want the same fate as the little snot-nose over there," I said, jerking my thumb behind me. "Just back the hell off. I'm not in the mood."
But apparently Kyd Wykkyd wasn't having it. I assumed if Gizmo was unable to be leader, and See-More had switched sides (God, the H.I.V.E was really dropping in size), Wykkyd was the next leader.
He moved towards me, and I backed out through the hole in the wall, which was conveniently in front of the fire escape that led down to the cool, unforgiving concrete where Gizmo lay.
I sent a hex his way, but he dodged it, disappearing into his own shadow.
"Jinx, do you want help?" Kid Flash asked, back from retrieving Gizmo, who was now tied in the corner.
I shook my head as Wykkyd appeared and attempted to hit me. I dodged his arm, and glanced back at Kid Flash. "This is my fight, Kid. Not yours. You don't help unless I ask. Got it?"
He nodded, and I turned back to the fight. I ducked under another of Wykkyd's swings, and lept onto the railing of the fire escape, the metal cool against my bare feet. Taking advantage of the situation, he tried to swipe at me again, but I pushed off the bar and summersaulted over his head, landing behind him. Assuming I once again had the upper hand, I aimed for a kick in the middle of his back, but he disappeared before my foot found purchase.
I fell forward, and while trying to regain my balance, Wykkyd appeared behind me, pushing me over the edge.
"Jinx!" Kid Flash called as I fell.
But I didn't fall far. I grabbed on to the railing and flipped myself upwards, the full force of my legs coming down on Kyd Wykkyd's chest. I pinned him to the ground, and Kid Flash hurried over to detain him.
"Even in civilian clothes and barefoot, I'm still stronger than you," I almost snarled.
Police sirens sounded in the distance, and I breathed a sigh of relief. Where the hell were they when all this started?
See-More looked around anxiously. "I gotta go."
I looked over at him. "What for?"
"You know how it was for you the first couple of weeks, Jinx. Nobody believes you've changed sides. I can't stay here and say I've converted. Not when they're all…" he gestured to the knocked-out H.I.V.E.
"Where are you going to go?"
He shrugged. "Around. Maybe I'll go back to where I was born." He smiled sadly.
"Keep in touch, okay?" I said, deciding to forgive him for all his years of villainy. After all, I had been there too, not too long ago.
He nodded and leapt out the window, letting his eye float him away.
Kid Flash put an arm around me. "Hell of a night, wasn't it?"
I glanced out the fresh hole in the wall at the rising sun. "Hell of a morning."
He kissed the side of my head as the flashing blue and red lights of the police cars danced around the room. "It's over."
I heaved a sigh of relief. "We better get these losers down to the cops."
Kid Flash laughed. "And find somebody to fix this beautiful new window in our bedroom."
Later that night (or morning), as I sat on the edge of the fire escape and watched the sunrise, I thought of all that had happened since I left the H.I.V.E. And I realized, despite all the troubles, it was one of the best decisions of my life.
TTTTTT
Woo! So there'll just be an epilogue after this. Also, don't judge me if it sucks; I wrote this all in one sitting.
Let me know what you think in the reviews! They make my day!
