Cha Hello people sorry this took forever, just got lost in everyday life here in NYC and school.
Chapter 3 tie with a bar fight
"Cajun you had less than 5 second to get your arm off of me if ya want to keep it." Rogue said. Gambit looked into her eyes that were like two emeralds alive with fire.
"Come on Cherie don't be like that." Remy had missed the way she looked when she was angry and about ready to punch to him. Good thing that in couple day he would see this on a daily basis.
"Five" Rogues stared the countdown.
"Come; let Remy buy ya a drink." He draws her in closer to him.
"Four." She growled.
"Don't be like that Cherie." He whispered in her ear. Using his empathy Gambit could feel Rogue's emotions fighting with each other. He could feel her reluctance and he tried his best to tone it down.
"Three." She tried to suppress the shiver that went down her back; she could feel her unwillingness fading away.
"Just one drink." He tucked a loose curl behind her ear and stared at her face and eyes that he could lose himself in.
"T-t-two" she could feel his hand moving lower and lower on back. She looked at his eyes that were glowing red. Then it hit her and she was beyond pissed off. With all her might she pushed him off her. "Oh gawd. You never change do you?"
That is when he could feel it hiss Hypnotic charm had been active the whole time.
"Cher-Rogue désolé I didn't even know I was using it." It was true even after all these years sometimes his hypnotic charm turned on without his knowledge. Sure it came in handy, but sometimes he could live without his secondary mutation.
"Yeah, right, listen I've got go find Kitty." Rogue looked around until she spotted the small brunette. "Oh gawd."
"What is it?" Gambit asked looking in the direction that Rogue was staring into, until he stopped at her friend at the bar: she had three empty shot glass at her side with three more left to go and a couple of frat boys cheering her on.
"Is that Kitty?" Tabitha asked Amara as they head towards the bar.
"Yes, it is, and what in the world got into her? The last time she drank was when she and Lance broke up even then she only had half of a beer." Rogue said as headed over to her friend.
"Yeah Rouge there you are I was like wait for you and umm… Billy and his friend offered to like keep me company till you showed up." Tipsy Kitty said. She could feel the alcohol move in her body. She didn't mean to start doing shots, but she had a hell of week and felt like letting lose. Frist, it was her getting a "D" on paper that she had spent three weeks writing. The only reason she had got a "D" was because her teacher hated mutants; she even said out loud that they should be kicked out of school. Then, there was the whole thing with Eric, and finally what sent her over the edge was the fact that she had agreed to go out with Lance that Thursday but he didn't show up. To make it even better, Lance ended up calling her three different times that night and drunk/high-texting her saying how sorry he was and that he loved her. Then, the next day at school he tried to act like she didn't even exist. She just needed to let go a bit. Now she had drunk 6 different shots and she was feeling pretty dang good. Then a song that she normally hated came on and she took off with Billy and stated to dance.
"Should we stop her?" Amara asked, still shocked that Kitty was actually drinking.
"Na she's fine, we can keep an eye out for her. Oh, by the way, Hi Gambit didn't think I'd ever see you around, you know after you kidnap Rogue and all. You know that Wolverine still has it out for you for taking his little girl. I love the shirt; by the way, not a lot of guys can pull off pink." Tabitha said giving Remy a look over and smiling, earning her a glare from Amara.
"Good to see ya Boom Boom. Ah, see that ya no longer with the Brotherhood and it's not pink its magenta." Gambit and Boom Boom had run into each other a lot when they were both on Brotherhood and Acolytes teams.
"Yeah, I wasn't working out so I went back to the X-men and look I got myself the hottest girl in the world. Gambit this is my girlfriend Amara." Tabitha gave her girlfriend a kiss on cheek and Amara blushed.
"Oh petite amie Ah knew it." Gambit gave Tabitha an all knowing look.
"What do you mean, you knew it? I didn't even know it. It took 6 spiked lemonades and a huge fight for us to realize that we liked each other as more then friends." Tabitha turned to look at Amara and smiled thinking to her that she really should thank Bobby for spiking the drinks. Tabitha knew that she was lucky that the Largendor Princess even a gave their relationship a chance. Tabitha remembered the day that she got a call from the King and Queen of Largendor: they called to inform her that although they didn't understand why their only daughter, and someday heir to the crown, was in a relationship with a women; they accepted it and could not wait to meet her and Amara's father also threatened to have a certain red and black clad assassin/mercenary kill her if she ever broke his daughter's heart.
"Oh, Ah have my way of knowing." Gambit then ordered a round of drinks for them. They went to find a place to sit. Tabitha didn't mind Gambit at all, but Amara was weary of the former Acolyte. Amara remembered training in the DR with holographic of him and learning different ways to take him down. Rogue didn't exactly hate him, she was just uneasy around him. She didn't trust him after all he did: kind of kidnapping her then lying to her, all to save is his fucking bastard of a father. "So ya are going to tell me how you got in. After all Ah know for fact that ya are underage."
"Kitty got us in." Amara admitted they really didn't need Kitty to sneak them in just one flash of her ID would have got them in, after all, who would turn down royalty?
"Oh I love this song, come on baby, and let's dance. Catch you two later." Tabitha chugged her drink and Amara followed her out onto the dance floor.
"So do the bald one and Monsieur Claws know that ya guys are misusing your powers?" Gambit teased Rogue who was refusing to even look at him, and just sipping her whiskey and coke. "Come on Cherie Ah said Ah was sorry about using my hypnoses on ya. Ah didn't even know it was on. Ah swear."
"What about your empathy." The look in Gambit's face gave away that he didn't realize that she could feel him use it on her. "That is what Ah thought. Ah adsorbed you, remember? So Ah know that you can't always control you hypnotic charm so that part Ah get, but ya have 100% control of your empathy. Ah don't like it when people mess with me at all." Rogue was about to say something hurtful about his dad when a guy came up to her.
"Rogue what are you doing here?" A familiar voice said. Rogue looked way from Remy only to see Magneto. Oh Crap she thought this wasn't good.
"Erik what are you doing here?" Rogue asked.
"I believe I asked you first, Rogue." He gave her a smile. Magneto had become a regular face around the mansion after the battle with Apocalypse. Magneto and Xavier still did not see eye-to-eye and often would get in head arguments. However they were working on one common goal: to make the world a safer place for mutants. Most at the mansion were still very uneasy and untrusting of Magneto. Scott and Logan were the unofficial captains of "Xavier's gone crazy and we should not trust/we hate Magneto club." Rogue could not bring herself to hate him, mostly because in the past couple of weeks they had begun to talk to each other over coffee at one of the local coffee shops in town.
The first time they ran into each other at the shop was an accident, Rogue need some peace and quiet to study, and Erik was looking for Wanda, again. He asked Rogue if she had seen Wanda, and Rogue, being in a bad mood, having had to read Romeo and Juliet, said she had no clue where the Scarlet Bitch was and to leave her alone; she needed to read the worst play ever written for a test the next day. After defending his daughter the best he could, he offered to help Rogue study. She got an "A" on the test and thanked him the next day she saw him. After that, every couple of days they would go to the shop and they would either talk for hours on end or he would help her study; each time she would see a different side of him that she didn't even know existed, a softer side, that was friendly and kind; a passionate side that wasn't all about mutant's rights or superiority, but about books, art, music, and family. He showed how sorry he was about messing up so horribly with his children, and even though he never said out loud, his wife: that he was trying as hard as he could to rebuild the bridges that he had destroyed with his power trips.
"I am here with a couple of friends, so why are you here?" Without even thinking she reached out and took his hands in hers and gave them a gentle squeeze before letting go.
"Yes, friend, why are you here? Aren't you a little old to be in this club, and shouldn't you be in bed?" Gambit felt the metal on his bar stool beginning to buckle. He quickly got up before he could fall.
"Gambit, I thought you had returned to New Orleans, and my reasons for being here are none of your business. Rogue, could I talk to you, in private?" He gestured to a corner of the club away from Gambit.
"Whatever you have to say to her, say it in front of me." Gambit said. Rogue glared at him and took Magneto by the arm and pulled him to the back of the club.
"Okay, what's going on and why you are here?" Rouge was getting tired of her question going unanswered.
"I am here because I'm looking for Wanda. She wanted Mastermind to undo the rest of the fake memories in her mind; he said that he would not be able to do so without giving her brain damage. She went off on one of her tantrums and yelled at me, saying that I should force him to do it. When I wouldn't, she said that I was dead to her and then she stormed out of the house. I can't find her even with the help of cerebro. I overheard Pietro talking over the phone with her saying that she would be here tonight, and I can't find her anywhere. " Erik knew that this was all his fault, that if he had put his pride aside, and let Xavier help Wanda when her powers first showed, she could have been a healthy, mentally balanced young woman. Right now, with control of her powers; instead of the unstable girl that hated him. She had good reason to; he had locked her up for 5 years in that Mental Asylum. He would forever carry that horrible burden on his shoulders.
"No, sorry, Ah just got here. Maybe she went somewhere else?" Rogue looked around, but could not see any sign of the witch anywhere. Just as Erik was about to agree and call it a night of looking for his child, a red bolt shot at him. In a second, the Scarlet Witch came at Rogue shooting her red hexes at the other girl.
"I told you to say way from me, you bastard! What are you doing here and with this fucking whore? She's not even half your fucking age, Father!" The Scarlet Witch was unstable at best when she wasn't angry, but now she was out of her mind with anger. She shot more of her hex bolts at them, but thanks to hours of training, both Magneto and Rogue were able to get out of the way. Wanda's anger at her father made her bolts less stable and she sent them all over. Bolts of red shot every which way causing people to run all over and scream; people tried to make it to the exits, but some weren't as lucky and had gotten hit by hexes. Rogue could tell that they needed help getting out. She looked around and saw Boom Boom, Manga, Shadowcat, and Gambit run to her side. Magneto tried to bend some metal stools around his daughter but she quickly shot them down with her powers. She shot one hex straight at him, sending him flying across the dance floor, and slamming him hard against the wall—rendering him unconscious. The Scarlet Witch then turned her focus on Rogue. Rogue quickly got into battle mode.
"Boom Boom and Gambit I need you to make a distraction. Manga, Shadowcat, follow me." Boom Boom started making her time booms as fast as she could and sending them flying, trying to hit the witch, but Wanda was able to easily block them. Gambit charged a couple of playing cards, just as he was about to hit his mark, the card was hit with a fire bolt. Gambit turned to see his former teammate, Pyro, running to the witch's side. Fuck, Gambit thought. Pyro was deadly with his fire and didn't care who got in the way. However, it looked like he just had his lighter on him so he couldn't do too much damage with a lighter.
"Gambit, long time, no see, mate." Pyro said as he formed a giant bear sending it straight at Gambit. At time like these, Gambit wished he had his trench coat on him it was fireproof and would have shielded him. As he way about to jump and hide behind an overturned table when Manga stepped in front of the charging bear and absorbed it. Manga smiled at Pyro sure Pyro could control fire, but Manga was fire, she could take him down. She knew his fighting style well enough and it didn't hurt that she was a level 4, maybe level 5, mutant while Pyro was only a level 3.
"Gambit go help Boom Boom, I can handle Pyro." Gambit gave a quick nod and scanned to see that Boom Boom was having trouble being on the receiving line of a pretty bad hex and could hardly stand. Boom Boom was trying to stand and keep the witches attention as Shadowcat and Rouge snuck up behind her. The last thing Rogue needed was for the witch to see them and send a hex at Kitty; which would make the girl lose temporary control of her powers and make her stay in her intangible stage until she hit the Earth's core, like the last time they fought with the Witch. Kitty was used to it happening to her all the time when her x gene first woke up and she hated it, not knowing how to make herself tangible there were times when she was stuck being intangible. It scared her because Jean or Xavier was not there to help her get it under control and make herself tangible. When Kitty had got that hex thrown at her, causing her to sink, she knew she was lucky that the hex was a weak one and she was able to get tangible, but it still scared her. She still had nightmares because of that night, but here was her chance to get her payback. Rogue had a simple plan in mind; Logan had drilled into her head that the simplest of plans were sometimes the most effective. All she had to do was get her and Shadowcat to the witch, have Kitty sink the witch into the ground, while Rogue absorbed the girl, while Manga provided some extra protection in case Gambits and Boom Boom distractions failed; but she hadn't planned on Pyro showing up.
"Cheri, Ah think ya could use some help." Gambit made his way over to Boom Boom who was struggling against the witch.
"Hey, thank god you finally decided to join the party. Here, catch and make it rain!" Boom Boom threw him some of her bombs. He caught them and quickly charged them with his powers, making the small balls into energy bombs—magenta with a golden center—he quickly threw them at Pyro who was giving Manga all he had. Manga was also giving him hell. She wasn't holding back at all: throwing fireballs at the Aussie so fast that all he had time to do was try and get out of their way, while sending some firebirds at her which were a complete waste. Manga saw the bombs coming at her, and she quickly ducked, hiding behind an overturned table as the bombs exploded right by the Aussie—sending him flying in the air and he smashed down onto the ground, causing him to suffer the same fate as Magneto.
"NO, NO, NO! WHAT THE FUCK DID YOU FUCKING DO!?" Wanda screamed as she saw her lover laying out cold on the floor. The little sanity that she was holding onto that night left her. She went completely still, all the noise around them stopped, and a smile spread across her lips. The building started to shake as if an earthquake was occurring; a couple of the light fixtures that were still hanging came crashing down. Tables, chairs, glasses, and bottles were now forming a tornado with the Scarlet Witch in the center laughing, as she sent broken bottles and chairs flying out in every direction. Boom Boom, Manga, and Gambit were doing their best to either explode, burn down and/or duck the flying objects while Kitty grabbed Rogue and focused her power so she was able to make she and Rouge go intangible while still running without sinking, which took a lot of work on the other girl. Rogue had to set the pace of the run, Kitty needed to concentrate, she was still drunk and, god damnit she was still an X-men, there was a job that needed to be done and done right. It always felt odd when Rogue went intangible with Kitty: it felt like she was air and when something went right through them it was like a tickle. Rogue was practically yanking Kitty the last few feet, and just like in the DR room, she pushed Kitty at the Witch, and Kitty managed to sink the entire right side of the witch while Rogue stripped off her right-hand glove and absorbed the witch.
Pain and anger flashed though her eyes. Images off being locked away and begging for her father to come. Why wasn't her father listening, she would be a good girl she promised. Rouge just wanted her father to come back to her, why did he leave her and why didn't he love her anymore? The image changed: it was one of lust and anger. It was of her and Pyro earlier that night, of her being pushed up against the wall in the back of the club, her legs wrapped around the insane Aussie, while he thrust into her hard and fast, causing a sweet mixture of pain and pleasure. Rogue screamed his name, not caring if someone found them. Rogue loved it when he was rough with her: the feeling of the cold wall on her back, her dress scrunched around her waist, while John had her left nipple in his mouth, and bit down on it while she came. Then the image changed again: it was of her seeing that untouchable freak talking to her Father, a rush of abandonment and pure fury swelled in her chest. Why show the freak kindness when he didn't even show his own flesh and blood any? He just sent them away and messed with their minds so they didn't know what was real or fake.
No, wait, these were Wanda's thoughts and memories, it was Wanda that had been locked away, having sex with John, and hating her father. Rogue finally was able to pull away even though she had only touched the girl for less than 30 seconds, it felt like an hour. She had to keep chanting in her mind: my name is Rogue. I live at Xavier's. My bothers name is Kurt. She pushed the newer form of Wanda's psyches behind the walls in her mind, and she could feel the witch's powers trying to burst out of her. She tried to stand but it was hard, it caused her pain as well as the other person she touched—it was like being tased, and it took a lot out of her. She had gotten better at it, but, with powers like hers, it was in her best interest not to practice too much. Plus the only ones that would volunteer to help were Logan and Kurt and she hated to cause them pain. She needed to get everyone out; her main focus was her friends and teammates. She looked around at what was left of the club, most of the fire had been put out by Manga, but the building was about to come down. Rogue, with the help of Gambit, stood up. She didn't bother to shove him away, she needed the support.
"Is everyone all right?" Everyone shook their heads. "Ok, good, are there any civilians still inside?" Rogue couldn't see anything, and thanks to the fight, the club was almost dark. The only light that was still working was flickering, and it didn't help that the place filled with smoke.
"Ah don't see anyone Ch-". Gambit was caught off by a sound of someone flying in a shiny gold and red metal suit.
"Can some please tell me why Friday night of drinking and all round good natured debauchery was ruined?" said an irritated sounding Iron Man.
