Chapter 6

Makina

I followed Tula to the Main Hall, where Valerie was interviewing a youngling.

"When was the last time you saw Leetah before she was attacked?" Valerie asked.

"About an hour before." The boy answered. His freckled face was tanned, and his eyes had lines under them, as if he hadn't gotten any sleep last night.

"Thank you." Valerie said and walked over to me. "I have found two suspects. One is a youngling who was ready to be a padawan also, but he seemed cautious whenever I asked him a question." She reported. "The other one flinched whenever I mentioned Leetah's name."

I nodded. Valerie handed me a clipboard and showed me the results of the Jedi she interviewed. It said:

Janaiza Worroz: Padawan. 67% guilty.

Lano Xenok: Young Jedi knight. 21% guilty

Konn Keeshe: Youngling. 78% guilty

Onzoo Vaarta: Jedi master. 57% guilty

Jason O'Conna: Padawan. 99.9% guilty.

"Jason O'Conna?" I blurred out. I looked to see if Marietta was catching all this, but she had vanished. I figured that she went back with Tula.

"Him?" Valerie looked at her clip-board. She had a look on her face like she was going to puke. "I SWEAR! I DID NOT write that." At that point, I wasn't feeling so good either. I felt my head getting faint.

Oh no. Not again.

"Makina? You okay?" Valerie dropped her clipboard and made me lean onto her.

"Um... Yah, I think so." I told her and stood up. Valerie nodded and picked up her clipboard. She looked at it and gasped again. Written on the clipboard in red ink that looked suspiciously like blood read:

Die, Jedi, DIE!

"Creepy..." I mumbled as I felt shivers run down my spine, goosebumps grow onto my skin, and my hair stands straight up.

Valerie shivers and I see my little friend named Towlie step in. Towlie is a Pantoran youngling. He is about seven years old. His skin is light blue, which shows off his navy blue hair and green eyes.

He runs right up to me and screeches, "Makina!" Then throws his arms around my shoulders.

"What?" I say, and search his body for any bumps, cuts, or scratches.

"Leetah's missing! She was laying on a bed in the infirmary, then the medical droid asked if I could fetch some water, and when I returned, Leetah was gone, and the medical droid was on the ground in pieces, cut by a LIGHTSABER!" Towlie panted, and sobbed into my shoulder.

"This is getting really strange." I mumble to myself and Valerie taps me on the shoulder opposite to the one that is now soaked.

Who knew a seven year old kid could cry so much? I said to my self. I put Towlie down, and look to where Valerie is pointing with her pen. There was a white splatter mark on the floor, with footprints leading away. I told Towlie to go tell the council about this. He scrambled away.

Valerie and I tracked the footprints to the hangar. Valerie grunted. "That, that THING got away." she mumbled and slumped to the ground.

"Don't feel bad, Valerie." I said and patted her back. She sighed. I didn't know what to do. I looked calm, but on the inside, I was freaking out. To calm myself and get my brain back on track, I tried to list all events that could be connected.

#1~ Chu-Chi being kidnapped

#2~ Me being poisoned.

#3~ My droid spying for General Greivous

#4~ Valerie and my sister being kidnapped

#4~ Leetah being hurt

#6~ Jason trapping us in a magic hallway

#7~ Jason changing the room-mate plaque

#8~ Jason choking his room-mate

#9~ Jason jumping out the window on the fifty-something bloody level of the bloody Jedi Temple

#10~ Leetah being kidnapped

#11~ The medical droid being cut up

#12~ Somebody writing "Die, Jedi, DIE!" on Valerie's clipboard

12! 12 crimes in one day! I suddenly stopped day-maring when I hear a lightsaber ignite. The quick KA-CHUNNNN gets Valerie back to reality, also. I stand up, lightsaber in hand, and Valerie copies me. I hear... laughter. Not like happy kid laughter, more like a evil person cackle. I look around and see Jason O'Conna stepping out from behind a stack of crates. He looked hideous. His leg was flattened, bloody and in a cast. Half his face had no skin, and on that side he was missing an eye-ball. His hair was uneven, like most of it had been shaved off. I shivered. One entire arm was missing. I felt like fainting. I could tell Valerie did too. Not only did she feel like it, she actually fainted. He walked over to me, and I collapsed. I saw Jason walk over to me.He raised his lightsaber. Then the last thing I thought was: Oh great. Crime number 13: Jason killing Makina. Another crime to add to my list.
