Gold: How long has it been, BSA, since you updated?

Me:….

Gold: Answer me or I'll go get a Vivillon from the Pokémon universe!

Me:…..a long time.

Gold: Why?!

Me: Because I'm lazy, procrastination, school, video games and my comfortable bed. Now quit complaining, be happy I'm here and get to your place, the story is about to start! Also, this is more of a filler chapter with a hint at some future fighting.

*Gold grumbles something and walks away*

Me: I don't own Fire Emblem awakening, the Fire Emblem franchise, or a real life Thoron tome. If I did, I'm pretty sure I would give everyone a phobia of lightning.

ODEL to reeking boxes

Gold and Silver were groggily moving supplies onto the cart for the journey to Ferox. Chrom had decided they needed to leave as soon as possible to enlist aid from there. And while everyone else was wide awake from the early sleep they got, ready to take on the morning work, Gold and Silver had other plans the previous night on the training grounds.

Flashback, last night...

"No Silver. You're still even BARELY creating dark magic." Gold stated, standing over her exhausted brother. "At least you're creating some dark magic. Not a whole lot, but we're getting there." Her brother finally gathers enough strength to stand up.

"That magic is heavier than even thunder magic! How do you do it and still be able to walk around?" Silver asked, still trying to catch his breath. Gold paused for a moment to try to think of a way to explain it to her brother.

"It's like, a state of mind." Silver looked at her slightly confused. "You have to fall into a certain way of thinking, then you have to muster all your concentration and knowledge on that. Then you just chant out the words that come to your mind and cast. It's just like any other magic, the trick is to find and fall into that certain way of thinking. I think that's where you need the help. But then again, I'm no teacher and an amnesiac." Silver just stares at his hands at this. "Why do you even want to learn dark magic?" Silver still keeps looking at his hand.

"I…just have a gut feeling that, it will help me one day. I can't explain it, but there is this feeling in my stomach that we're gonna have to face something and that I need to know how to use dark magic. Plus, I will have a new way to protect everyone at my disposal. Who knows when the only way to save you or anyone else will be to swallow them up in darkness. While we're on the topic, why are you trying to learn how to use a sword?" Gold just looks off onto the sleeping castle as she answers.

"You know how you're very tired right now after you use dark magic?" Silver nods and Gold continues. "That's how I felt after the previous fights. The toll was on my mind, not my body. It takes up way more concentration than any other magic. Even if I stop using magic during the fight, I doubt I'll be able to concentrate after the toll it takes. That's why, until I can last longer with the magic, I want another way to defend my self and others." Silver smiles and nods in understanding.

"I guess we are both trying to learn for the some of the same reasons." Gold nods in confirmation. Silver stands up and goes to pick up two wooden swords from the storage and tosses one to Gold, who manages to barely catch it. "Okay. Time to start YOUR training. And to quote you, 'I'm no teacher' either. Until we get proper teachers, were stuck with each other."

End of flashback

After several minutes of lifting and supply managing, the Shepherds were ready to head to Regna Ferox. They started up the horses and carts to begin their journey. Some of the Shepherds were riding on their horses, some were walking along the wagons. Gold and Silver however, are currently taking a short nap in one of the carts, still exhausted from yesterday's training.

Two and a half hours later…

It is time for breakfast and the twin tacticians arose from their slumber. Gold was the first to speak.

"I…just had the weirdest dream."

"Me too…" Silver said, still half asleep.

"There was sand everywhere, a funny person thing…"

"Mine had me in some pink tuxedo or something…" the two dismissed their dreams as just dreams and went on to exit the cart to find that the rest have already begun eating breakfast and some have already finished. Chrom notices the two and goes up to them.

"I was wondering when you two would wake up. I was about to go get Lissa to wake you two up." The twins shivered at the thought of being woken up by the energetic princess and her frogs again. Chrom laughed at their tensed faces, "You two better get something to eat before we head off. We can't have our brilliant strategists coming up with battle plans on empty stomachs!"

"Speaking of battle plans, how long until we reach Ferox?" Silver asked, still somewhat asleep.

"It should be two days from today if we get there with no interruptions. Now go eat you two." The prince goes off to resume his conversation with Sumia. The tacticians made their way to the table where their breakfast awaited them, then went off to sit on a log along with Sully and Stahl.

"You two sure took your dam time getting up! It's almost been three hours since you two decided to go back and hit the sack!" Sully's statement seemed to wake Gold up.

"We were asleep THAT long? I thought it was an hour or something." Stahl took a break from eating his meal and asked the two,

"Didn't you two get any sleep last night?"

"We were wiped out from the training we did last night. I was trying to learn how to use a sword and Silver was attempting dark magic." Sully just shook her head at the two and let out a slight chuckle.

"I like that we have such dam dedicated tacticians, but ya got to remember that training is suppose to be done when you DON'T have to get up early tomorrow!" The group goes on to chat about their own battle styles since Gold and Silver can't really talk about anything else due to their amnesia. Soon, the Shepherds were moving on the road again to Ferox. The rest of the travel goes by uneventfully for the rest of the day as Gold and Silver start to plan a possible fight against the Feroxi guard in a moving cart. From what they heard from Chrom, they swing first, then swing again, THEN ask questions.

It's about a while past dinner time…

The twins have just finished eating their dinner and conversing with their new friends. They are now heading towards their own respective tents. Until a certain redheaded mage with glasses stops them with two heavy looking books in hand.

"Excuse me sir and miss. Would you two happen to be the tacticians Silver and Gold respectively?" The redhead asked the two.

"Yes we are. You're Miriel, one of the mages here?" Silver asked. Miriel nods in confirmation and says,

"Maribelle requested that I instruct you on the current social code and standards of society. She says that she fears that your amnesia might have caused both of you two to lose memory of social graces and has asked me to give you detail instruction on every aspect of the subject." She hands Silver one of the heavy looking books titled ODEL, Oxford Dictionary of the English Language. The strategists look at Miriel in confusion, prompting a response from Miriel of her actions. "Maribelle also fears that you may not be able to comprehend my diverse lexicon. So she requested that I give you two this book for reference on any vocabulary you cannot fathom." They sat on a log as Miriel opened her book and began her lecture. And not even five seconds in, the enigmatic twins started to flip the pages of their new book.

The next morning, after Miriel effectively caused the enigmas headaches over proper manners…

The twins managed to get up earlier than last time, not wanting to find a royal frog on their faces again. They woke up to see the Shepherds reading their weapons and armor.

"What's going on?" Gold asked to no one in particular. Soon, Chrom and Vaike caught sight of the now awakened pair and headed their direction. "Chrom, what is happening?" Gold asked, worried of all the commotion.

"Risen have been spotted behind our scouts and are heading this way. We need to arm up as fast as possible. Stahl has the details for you two on their strength and numbers."

"But how could have they gotten past the sentries without them noticing?" Silver asked. Chrom simply nodded his head to Vaike.

"Ask him." And Chrom walked off to finish his preparations. Vaike simply shrugged and said.

"It's not worth going into. Really." The twins simply continued to look at him expectantly while Vaike shifted nervously slightly where he's standing. Vaike then decided to start walking away until Silver blocked his way. He turned around to head the other direction only to be blocked by Gold. Vaike looked between the two at there non threatening looks, which accidently mistook for clod stares of death. Vaike finally caved in.

"Alright alright! I'll tell you! Just stop looking at me like that, it gives me the creeps!" Silver, looking satisfied, asked

"Vaike, what happened?" Vaike looked down on the grown with a nervous laugh and started his story.

"Well, you see, I was walking off camp for a bit when I came across this box that reeked…"

Me: Summer is almost here, so I'm gonna work more on my story and some oneshots and help my friends with an RPG we're making. So I'm gonna have plenty of time on my hands to actually get my self to update. Hopefully I really can start updating this more. Now to leave you all with a quote from one of my favorite characters!

"The proper order of things is often a mystery to me. You, too?" – The Cheshire Cat
