I twist my head around to see that Theo and I are in the middle of an empty, smelly alleyway. It's bright outside and there must have been at least 50 people who have walked past the alleyway in the last minute or so. I can see cars driving past the strangers also, many of them an warm yellow.

A groan beside me brings me out of my thoughts and I turn to see Theo sitting up and holding his head, which has a gash on it.

"Oh, Merlin! Theo!" I cry as I crawl over to him and observe the bleeding cut. Thankfully, it looks worse than it actually is.

"I'm fine, Mari. Just a little disoriented." I frown and slowly rise to a standing position, holding out my hand to help the Slytherin beside me. He takes it and I do my best to pull him up.

"Where are we?" He asks the question that's been brewing in my brain since we've arrived, and I had my suspicions but...

"It would sound insane if I said where we are out loud."

"Nothing you could say would make me think you were insane, Mari. Leave that to the Most Ancient and Noble House of Black," I frown at the mention of my Godfather's family and Theo seemed to notice his mistake, his bewildered face turning into regret.

"I'm sorry, I forgot." He mumbles and I shake my head, my brunette locks flying in every direction as I do so.

"It's not your fault, I need to learn to get past it without feeling awful." I replied before looking back down the Alley and towards the streets.

"I think we're in New York City."

"New York City? Mari, that's... Can you apparate?" Theo asks, shocked. I return my gaze towards him and furrow my eyebrows in confusion.

"Apparate? What's that?"

"It means you can teleport anywhere you'd like, without using a portkey or the floo network. It's a similar sensation to how Tipsy transported us away from Malfoy Manor."

"W- well..." I trail off, remembering the time that I had somehow landed on my primary school's roof when I was trying to escape Dudley and his friends at break time.

Theo's eyes widen, "Oh my Merlin..."

"Okay, enough about the things I can do. We need to find out exactly where we are, I could have been wrong!" I take note of the blood running down Theo's face and my annoyed expression softens.

"And we need to get you help..."

"It's fine, Mari. Things could have gone a lot worse."

I hesitate before I inwardly agree. Things could have gone much worse and if I am right and we are in New York City, then it would take a while for the british Aurors to find us.

Theo extends his hand towards me and I take it, though mine is much clammier than his. My fingers intertwine with his and he pulls me towards the light of the busy streets. However, a voice causes us to stop half way.

"I haven't had the pleasure of meeting kid wizards before," a snarky voice interrupts us and we both turn around to see three people in front of us. Two men, one woman.

The woman had short, curly red hair and was dressed in a black, leather catsuit, luminous blue accents around her wrists. I eyed them with slight fear, however she seemed the least dangerous out of the trio.

One of the other men was dressed from the neck down in a metal suit that practically screams Gryffindor. I knew that the suit was some sort of a defence that could also cause harm, but something about this man told me that he was merciful.

However, the one remaining definitely intended to harm with the quiver strapped to his back, a bow pointing straight at us with an arrow ready to deploy.

My view of them was blocked shortly after I had observed them, Theo standing in front of me protectively.

"I think you're mistaken," he said. "We aren't wizards."

"The bright light and miniature hurricane you brought with you begs to differ." Metal Man snorts. Theo's grip on my hand tightens.

"Seriously, what are kids like you doing here?" Asked the man with the arrows.

"And more importantly, are you here to cause harm?" Redhead finishes.

I peek my head around Theo's shoulder, "No. We aren't. In fact, we're lost and looking for somebody."

"Well, 40's. You're in New York, Manhatten to be exact." I scrunch my nose up at confusion from metal man's nickname. What did he mean by 40's? I wasn't even 18!

"Who are you looking for?" Redhead asked again, her face blank.

I hesitate before letting go of Theo's hand and walking in front of him. I tried not to focus on the arrow pointing at me.

"Anthony Stark. He's my father." I say, ignoring Theo's cries of protest.

Redhead and Arrow Man look to Metal Man and he scoffs as he looks directly in my eyes. Suddenly, he pales and an awkward silence befalls us all.

Eventually the man breathes shakily and the suit around him disappears to reveal... another suit. It was clear that this guy had the most money out of the three of them.

Arrow Man eyes his friend with confusion, "Tony, what are you doing?" My heart leaps in my throat when I hear the man's name.

"Lily..." Tony whispers sadly and I open my mouth to say something, but before I can, Theo practically drags me into his arms.

"Be careful," he mumbles quietly so only I can hear. I look up into Theo's deep blue eyes to see them shining with concern. I give him a slight smile, hoping to reassure him that I'm okay and there was, hopefully, nothing to worry about.

"Lily. You're Lily's Daughter..."

"And you're my Father?" I question hopefully.

"I am," confirmed Tony, looking as if he was about to cry. He quickly turns to his friends.

"Stand down, it's alright." He reassures them and slowly but surely, Arrow Man lowers his bow and the Redhead's facial expression becomes less stoic and the blue lights around her wrists fade.

I beam at Theo, happy that my mistake had accidentally lead me to my father, but he didn't look convinced yet.

"Kid, that cut on your head looks quite painful. We can get that fixed up for you and then maybe we can all have a chat, what do you both say?"

Theo looks down at me for a moment and I stare up at him with hopeful eyes. He sighs.

"I suppose that will be alright, as long as you promise not to pull those weapons out again."

Tony nods and as promised, there isn't a hint of harm pointed towards us, except for the quiver Arrow Man was holding.

"Well, who knew Tony Stark had a kid? The team's going to have a field day with this."

"The team?" I question confusedly, but Tony didn't elaborate. He had a phone pressed into his ear, busy speaking with somebody on the other end.

"Clint, Tony and I are part of a team called the Avengers," Redhead explains. "There's six of us in total, with the exception of Happy and Pepper. We sort of have the job of saving the world."

"Oh," I nod as if I understand what she's talking about, when truthfully neither Theo or I have ever heard about these so called 'Avengers'.

"I've just phoned Happy. Jarvis is giving him the directions as we speak, so it shouldn't take too long for him to find us." Tony speaks to his friends after he hangs up the phone and places the device inside his suit jacket.

"Who's Happy?" Theo questions and Tony eyes his grip on me before simply answering, "He's my friend. Works for me."

"Oh."

Another awkward silence envelops us all for several minutes before I realise two things.

"I didn't catch your name." I tell the woman and she gives me a small smile before responding.

"Natasha Romanoff, but you can call me Nat."

"Nice to meet you Nat, I'm Mari. This is Theo." I gesture to the Slytherin beside me and he extends his hand as a mark of greeting. All three adults shake it, although I swore I heard him wince when Tony was the last one to do so.

"Do you mind if I just ask a quick question, Nat?" I give Nat a shy smile as I wondered, was this Pepper she mentioned the woman I was looking for?

"Not at all, go ahead."

"When you mentioned Pepper, did you mean Pepper Potts?"

"You know Pepper?" Clint quick interjects before either Tony or Nat can answer me.

"She's my Godmother."

"And my Girlfriend."

I quickly turn to Tony with a look of shock before a great, big cheesy grin makes its way to my face.

"Is she nice?" I ask eagerly. Tony nods, "The nicest."

I swear, I couldn't stop grinning the whole time I created small talk with Tony and his teammates. Theo joined in occasionally, but I didn't mind his silence because I knew this was normal for him around others he didn't know yet. I also knew he was still skeptical about the situation, and I couldn't blame him. We had just nearly been stunned by Aurors.

We were, in the eyes of the Ministry of Magic, on the run.

But I had found my father, and despite the situation Theo and I were currently in, this was probably the best day of my entire life.
