As they walked down the hall, Maka noticed that they had captured more than a little attention. Soul messed with the ribbons tied around his wrists and glared at them. After he fixed them his hands flew to the green tie that felt like it was trying to choke him. Maka rolled her eyes and blew a strand of her hair from her face. This headband that Soul wore all the time barely did anything to hold back her long blonde hair. She heard Soul curse before he fell forward.

"What are you doing?" She asked him.

"Oh nothing Maka, I wanted to see from the perspective of shoes!" He yelled and glared at her. She glared right back.

"How did you fall you idiot." She snapped.

"Your stupid fucking boots. I tripped over them." He held up a foot and glared at the black and white combat boots.

"Come on, get up." She held out a hand that he took angrily.

"This is, by far, the most uncool punishment Stein has made." He grumbled as she hoisted him up.

It didn't take long to find their friends. Seeing as how they had attracted as much attention as they had. Black*Star was hanging upside down on a chandelier and yelling about his godliness. Tsubaki was trying to call him down. Kid was yelling for Star to get down this instant before he went berserk. Liz and Patty were just chatting idly behind them.

"Maka! There you are." Kid said. To her surprise he didn't look half bad in the cowboy look. The hat was placed perfectly on his head and the tie centered. He surprised her when she saw two red sweatbands on each of his arms.

"Can you get him down? He's been there for an hour!" Maka sighed but nodded.

"Soul! Time to get him down." Soul smirked before running over. He cupped his hands and placed them between his knees. He squatted as Maka placed a foot on his hands. Maka was very light to Soul so he was always able to throw her. He tossed her as high as he could. As he predicted Maka kicked Star right in the cheek and shot him to the floor.

"WHAT THE HELL MAKA?!" He roared. "YOUR GOD WAS MAKING A SPEE-OOF!" Maka landed on him again so she could land safely on the floor. She placed her hands in the letterman's pockets and walked back to Soul.

"Nice, could use some work on the landing though." He said. Maka nodded. She turned her head when she heard two guys whispering to each other.

"-been that hot?!" she heard them whisper. The other just shrugged.

"Maka! We're gonna be late." Liz yelled over, just like Soul, she began messing with the collar of her shirt. Maka turned to her and ran to catch up with them. For some reason Soul kept glaring to the crowd even as they walked. She tried not to ask about it.

Stein smiled widely as the group entered. He put a cigarette in his mouth and lit it.

"So how are the new outfits?" He asked. They didn't answer, just walked to their seats.

"Alright class I've got to work on some research of mine so today is a free period!" He spun in his chair and zoomed back to his desk. Maka sighed as he typed on the laptop quickly. After a few minutes of quiet chatter Soul stood up and stretched.

"Where you going?" Maka asked.

"Gotta piss." He said and left. Maka sighed and took out a book. She was able to read a few sentences before Liz started to frantically poke her shoulder.

"What Liz?" She whispered harshly.

"You've got company at your 10 o'clock!" She whispered back before sitting down again.

Maka turned her head and saw a boy walking over. She didn't know him very well, in fact, she only knew his name. Jake Johnson, or JJ for short, was possibly one of the smartest guys in the class. He was behind Ox Ford by 5 points in a difficult test. Whenever Liz had gossip you could bet a farm that he would be in it. He hardly went out with anyone since they all seemed so dumb to him. He had black fluffy hair and brown eyes. He wore a side chain from his pocket and a black jacket. It was hard to tell he was a hammer weapon with the sword necklace around his neck.

"Hey. This seat taken?" He asked and pointed to Soul's chair.

"Well-" he sat down anyway and leaned his head on his palm.

"You're Maka Albarn right? Honors student and a meister?"

"A scythe meister." She said and opened her book again.

"Yeah, well I was wondering if you'd like to be my partner!" He grinned and pointed his thumb to his chest.

"No thanks." She replied flatly. He sputtered a bit which made her grin.

"What? Why not?" She closed her book, sighed, then turned to him.

"You're way over confident, you're loud, and although you're smart you don't seem very bright." His jaw dropped and he could hear Liz snickering with Patty behind him. "Let's also add the fact that I'm a scythe meister. Not a hammer meister."

Liz swore this was probably the only time she's seen JJ turn red from embarrassment. He's usually the victor in these types of conversations. But it was how Maka didn't even blink in her refusal that really sold the hilarity in it all. He blinked once, then twice before getting up and going back to his seat. Happy that she was left alone she went back to reading happily. She didn't even notice that Stein was taking notes of the encounter. Soul returned to his seat and sat next to Maka. She glanced at him before she noticed his hands.

"Soul?"

"Yeah?" He asked as he slumped forward.

"What happened to your hands?" The knuckles were red and his palms had nail marks in them.

"Some assholes thought they'd get lucky in a fight with me."

"And?" He gave a wicked smirk.

"They ended up with their heads in a toilet."

Soul flexed his hands through the bandages. They were on the way home but had to stop by the nurses office to clean up his fists.

"You shouldn't get into cheap fist fights like that Soul." Maka said. Soul rolled his eyes.

"The fuckers started it. I simply finished it."

"Still! Those students have to stay a week in the infirmary because of you!" He rolled his eyes again and tuned out her nagging. He made sure to glance at her every few minutes and grunt.

"And- Are you even listening to me?" She screeched. Soul flinched then rubbed his ear.

"Yeah, yeah, yeah! Don't fight other students, blah blah blah." He smirked when her eyes lit up like the fire in hell.

"Soul! This is serious! Those students could've died because of you!"

"But they didn't did they?" He swore he could see her eyes practically ignite. He probably shouldn't have ignored her. That's what he thought to himself as he dodged a rain of Maka-Chops.

I do good? I do good. It was fun to write this new chapter! I did my best to remember how Soul and Maka acted when they're just talking. So I hope you actually enjoyed this chapter! I'm almost certain I'm forgetting about a story but I can't remember which one. So anyway! Until next time, WolfGal out!
