A/N: Sorry this took so long, it would have been updated sooner but i was a little preoccupied with playing Assasains creed so...Yay.

Hope you enjoy!

Marceline walked towards the door, notebook and pencil in hand, with a sigh. Outside was hot, and Marceline couldn't see the point in walking all the way from the other side of Neptr to her house.

"Yo," The look on Bonnibel's face was funny, somewhere in between shock, and confusion. "What's up?"

"Y-You're wearing..." Bonnie trailed off, her brows furrowing. "Glasses?" Marceline practically threw the offending object off of her face, not bothering to watch as it flew over the younger girls shoulder.

"No I'm not." she muttered quickly as her face grew warmer with every second.

"Marceline Abadeer why didn't you tell me you wore glasses?" Bonnibel scolded with a frown, turning around and picking up the pair of black glasses. Marceline crossed her arms and pouted when Bonnie jutted them out in front of her, an expectant look on her face.

"I am not putting them on."

"Bonnibel, come in. come in." Simon had appeared behind the raven haired girl with a smile. "And where are your glasses Marceline?" The pinkette smiled back at the man and passed him the eye wear, earning a groan from the other girl.

"Why can't i wear contacts again?" She whined, throwing her arms up in despair.

"Because, they're too darn expensive. Anyways, you can wear contacts...just not as much." Marceline snatched her glasses away from the man and shoved them onto her face, walking over to the kitchen table and laying her notebook down in front of her.

"You're such a dork." Marceline looked up at Bonnie who was now sat with her head in her hands, staring at Marceline.

"Brainiac."

"Dork."

"Geek."

"Dork."

"Butt-nugget."

"Dork." Bonnie sang happily, earning a glare from the older girl.

They sat in silence for a good hour and a half, Marceline working on her song while Bonnie just sat there, texting on her phone.

"I need to write one last song for the fifth round and i cant come up with shit." Marceline growled, slamming the pencil onto the table and making Bonnibel jump slightly.

"Well, why don't you write a song about something you like?" Marceline shook her head, running a hand through her head before looking back at the pinkette.

"I've tried, there's nothing i can come up with."

"Write a song about me." She stated simply, Marceline's eyes grew wide and her mouth opened slightly, earning a giggle from Bonnibel.

"F-Fine."

Bonnie was sat on one of the many chairs which now lined the School's cafeteria, waiting ever so patiently for the talent show to begin. She could already see Ellen and Pippa in there matching pink outfits, the blonde of the two rolling her eyes as Ellen began to go over the choreography yet again. A small tap on the shoulder from her father brought her out of the rather amusing drama going on next to stage.

"Where's your friend?" Bonnibel shrugged and looked down at her phone, there was only one minute to go until the show was scheduled to start and Richard was right, there was absolutely no sign of Marceline anywhere.

"I do hope she can make it, you keep going on about how amazing she is at singing." Her mother commented while she looked around for Robert who had gone off to get some snacks.

"Hey," Bonnie turned and smiled when she saw Marceline stood behind her. "I've only got a few seconds until I've got to go and prepare."

"When are you on?"

"After Ellen, whose up first." Bonnie saw Marceline swallow nervously and scan the crowded room before smiling and leaning up to kiss her cheek.

"You'll do fine." She breathed once she pulled away slightly, smirking when she saw the ever so slightly pointed ear burn crimson. It was then that the lights dimmed and Marceline sped off towards the stage, face still pink.

"Good evening Ladies and Gentlemen." A man spoke from up on the stage. "Tonight's show will be hosted, as always, by our very own Simon Petrikov!" At that, Simon walked out on the stage, a smile adamant on his face as he was passed the microphone.

"Yes well...We better get on with the show eh?" The audience cheered and Simon walked over to the edge of the stage. "Up first is Ellen and Pippa!" The two girls shuffled out onto stage, Ellen looking incredibly confident while Pippa stared down at the floor.

"My Lumps are the best in all the land!" Ellen started, earning a rather small giggle from bonnibel when she began to spin on the spot.

"No lumps shall ever compare!" Ellen began to twirl around Pippa who now looked as if she regretted this whole thing.

"You better Lumping watch out because my Lumps are about to be reborn."

"What does that even mean?" Robert hissed into Bonnie's ear, breath smelling of popcorn.

"I actually have no words." After about ten minutes of crazy dancing and random statements from the two, Simon hopped back up on stage and cleared his throat.

"Up next, with her very own song, is Marceline Abadeer!" Bonnie chewed her lip nervously, her hands moving down to grip onto the edge of her seat as Marceline came out, stool and guitar in her hands.

Bonnibel could tell she was nervous, the way her eyes darted around uncertainly, the way her throat bobbed up and down, the way her voice wavered.

"This song is yet to be titled, i-i hope you like it."

"Is that all she'll be playing with?" Bonnie waved her father away and stared intently at the girl on the stage.

"Looking at the cop in the rear view mirror

Probably should have stopped but the crossroad was clear

I'll just imagine it's a ticket to a Broadway show" The wall behind her lit up, a video of Marceline playing the drums began to play.

"Looking at the clouds and they seem kinda funny

Probably gonna rain but my outlook is sunny

I'll just imagine that I'm laying out in Mexico" A video of her singing the next lines began to play underneath the other, soon joined by two more of her playing an electric guitar and on a synth piano.

"Cause I know that pleasures gotta come with pain

And I know that things won't always go my way

And I know that life is gonna suck some days

But I can't complain

I can't complain

Every days too short to let it go to waste

Now I can't complain

I can't complain

You gotta treat every day like a holiday

And I'm telling you

That I know some days I'm gonna stumble

And I know the cookie's gonna crumble

And I know that life is gonna suck some days

But I can't complain

Waiting on a never ending train at the crossing

Paying it no mind cause you just keep talking

We'll just imagine it's the good old days and take it slow

Spending Christmas Eve on the floor of the airport

Dying to get back to the people that I care for

Smiling just dreaming about my puppy in my bed back home

Cause I know that pleasures gotta come with pain

And I know that things won't always go my way

And I know that life is gonna suck some days

But I can't complain

I can't complain

Every days too short to let it go to waste

Now I can't complain

I can't complain

You gotta treat every day like a holiday

And I'm telling you

That I know some days I'm gonna stumble

And I know the cookie's gonna crumble

And I know that life is gonna suck some days

If you can't say nothing good

Don't say nothing

If you stop to think you could come up with something

That makes you feel so good when times are rough it's ok

I can't complain

Oh oh oh oh oh

Oh oh oh oh oh

Don't let it go to waste

Now I can't complain

I can't complain

Every days too short to let it go to waste

Now I can't complain

I can't complain

You gotta treat every day like a holiday

And I'm telling you

That I know some days I'm gonna stumble

And I know the cookie's gonna crumble

And I know that life is gonna suck some days

But I can't complain." The crowd roared and clapped and cheered, making Marceline smile that utterly awkward yet gorgeous smile and blush and oh my god Bonnibel was grinning back at her with so much enthusiasm. The audience carried on clapping even after she'd left but nobody noticed when she slipped into the seat next to Bonnie.

"I knew you'd do great." She breathed, wrapping her arms around the older girl.

"And you guys say you aren't dating." Robert huffed, shaking his head at the pair. Bonnibel immediately shot away from Marceline, her face heating up at the statement.

The rest of the show dragged on and it was way past 12:00 when it was over. Marceline smiled over at Bonnie as they followed Robert and Goliad out of the school, Richard and Helena close behind.

"Y'know, if we were to start dating..." Bonnie looked up at the taller girl, brows furrowed. "I suppose i'd have to take you on a date first, right?" The pinkette smirked, knowing where this was going, and nodded. "So...you wanna go on a date with me tomorrow?" Bonnibel couldn't help it. She just had to lean up and press their mouths together, her hands balling up into tight fists in Marceline's shirt, her eyes fluttering closed and the way she tugged the other girl closer than they had ever been before.

Marceline melted into the kiss, her hands automatically moving up to cup Bonnie's cheeks and her lips moving tentatively against Bonnibel's. Bonnie leaned away slightly, eyes opening and lingering on Marceline's lips before they flicked to those big brown orbs.

"I've wanted to do that for a while."

"I'm so glad you did."

"Girls?" Bonnie quickly pushed Marceline away, turning to her family with a burning face and open mouth.

"I-I...er...forgot you were..here?" She turned to the raven haired girl who was now turned with her back towards them, hand at the back of her neck and her lips puckered into a whistle. "Help me." She hissed, grabbing Marceline and dragging her forwards.

"So, nice weather we're having huh?" Robert grinned and shook his head, walking away with an all too tired Goliad in his arms. Richard chuckled and followed in pursuit, leaving a rather amused Helena to stare at the two expectantly.

"I'm not even going to say anything." Bonnibel turned to Marceline as her mother left, a playful glare crossing her features.

"You could have said something useful."

"I did!" She defended, putting her hands up in front of her. "I was merely distracting them with the fine weather." Bonnie smirked and lightly hit her, her lips still tingling from the kiss.

"We should do that more often."
