Music

Young Yamato Ishida, also known as Matt, was walking home from guitar lessons with said instrument on his back. In a sudden surge of musical inspiration, he pulled his guitar out of the case and began strumming, humming happily along. Suddenly, he heard another melody, drifting through the air. His sharp musical ears told him it was coming from the back of townhouse that he was standing in front of. Curious, he hopped the fence and strolled towards the back of house, continuing to strum out his song.

Mimi Tachikawa was practicing on her piano, sighing with boredom. She couldn't wait to finish and go play with her dolls. As she stopped for a moment, she heard the faintest wisp of a lovely tune, getting louder and louder with each second. In fact, it seemed to be coming from her backyard! She glanced at the back wall, and gasped. A blond boy was standing right outside the window, watching her as he strummed his guitar.

"Normal kids don't randomly walk into other people's backyards and watch them play piano," scolded Mimi.

"Who said I have to be normal?" replied the boy coolly. "You play quite well though. Why don't we play a song together? I bet we would sound terrific!"

Mimi thought about this for a moment before agreeing. Together, they played first Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, and then moved on to more complicated songs. Mesmerized by the music, for the first time in her entire life, Mimi didn't realize the time until she heard her mother call, "DINNER!"

"Oh! I have to go eat. I'm sorry," she apologized.

"It's okay. I had a great time. We should do this again some time."

"Yes, we should," Mimi agreed.

The boy then turned and left. Mimi sat there for a little while more, thinking about the boy that had just pulled her into music. All of a sudden, she jumped up. "Oh dear! What must he think of me?!" For in the whole hour the two had been playing, Mimi still had yet to open the window.
