Caspian chapter 2
Here we go Caspian and Susan!
Susan laughed as Caspian guided her through the castle out to the garden, telling her stories about when he was a young kid. Their hands intertwined with each others.
"And over here is where my father first taught me how to ride a horse," Caspian said, pointing over to the stables. He smiled, and looked up at the darkening sky, as the sun began to set.
They reached the garden and Susan let go of Caspian's hand. She twirled around and sat down on a small stone bench next to a large fountain, letting her hand swirl in the cool water.
"It really is beautiful here," Susan said, almost in a whisper. She looked up and smiled at Caspian who stood tall in front of her. He shifted his weight and motioned next to Susan.
"May I?" Caspian asked nodding in Susan's direction.
Susan looked at him puzzlingly before realizing what he was asking. "Oh, yes," she said, making room on the bench for Caspian to sit next to her. They sat in silence for a moment before turning to each other, both of them opening their mouths to talk.
"You first," Susan said graciously. Her liquid blue eyes sparked in the now moon light.
"Oh, well," Caspian ran his hands against his trousers. "Please don't think I'm out of place but I am not looking forward to tomorrow." Susan blushed and looked away.
"And why is that?" Susan asked trying not to smile. She was pretty positive about what he was going to say but she wanted to hear it from him.
"I don't want you to leave." Caspian jumped slightly when he felt Susan's hand fall on his.
"Me either," Susan replied, looking Caspian in the eyes. "I am going to miss everyone, Alsan, Reepicheep, Trumpkin ." Caspian's head fell. Susan's free hand pulled his chin up and continued. "But, I am going to miss you most of all." There eyes met before Susan leaned in to kiss Caspian softly on the lips.
"My queen," Caspian said as the kiss broke. All of a sudden they heard foot steps and the sound of a blade being drawn out of it's case.
"You stay away from her," Peter said as his sword came closer to Caspian's body.
"Peter!" Susan yelled letting go of Caspian's hand as they reached for his own sword. "Put the sword down!"
"How could you?" Peter asked looking at the both of them. His sword was now in contact with Caspian's pushing against it.
"How could I?" Caspian spat. "Forgive me but it seems like you think you have control over everyone that crosses your noble path my king."
"You don't lay a finger on my sister." Peter snared, lowering his sword before looking at Susan. "Come on Susan, let's get out of here."
"No!" Susan replied. "Peter, you have no right telling anyone what to do, especially me." Peter looked at her in disgust before storming off to the castle.
"Peter wait!" Susan called after him.
"It's too late," Caspian sighed. He put his sword away and ran his hand through his shaggy hair. "Susan, I am so sorry. I did not mean to cause any harm." Susan glanced over at Caspian trying to hide her tears. Caspian felt his body tense up but was soon released by the sudden force of Susan's hands around his waist. Soft sobs left Susan's mouth but were muffled against Caspian's warm chest. He hesitantly put his hands on the back of her back and neck, kissing the top of her hair.
Susan lifted her head and stared teary eyed at Caspian. "No, I'm sorry. Peter didn't mean it. He was only looking out for me." She reburied her head in him again.
"My dear king and queen, is everything alright?" Susan and Caspian let go of each other to look at the majestic lion that was approaching.
