Chapter 5
Caspian and Susan lay on her bed talking and laughing together in between numerous kisses. It was very late but they didn't seem to mind. Susan put her head on Caspian's chest and closed her eyes. Caspian let his left arm drape over Susan and his right stroke her chocolate brown hair.
"Caspian," Susan said sleepily. "Tell me about your father."
Caspian breathed out slowly before responding. "My father was the greatest Telmarine king that ever ruled Telmar." Susan quickly fell asleep in his arms as he continued to tell tales about his father. Before long, both of them were sound asleep, wrapped up in each other.
"Susan," Susan woke to hear a voice at her door the next morning. "Susan, get up." She sat up and looked at Caspian who was nestled in the bed next to her. She smiled to herself before getting up and walking towards the door. Lucy stood there with Edmund in the large corridor that was filling with the morning light.
"Good morning Susan!" Lucy said happily. "Have you seen Caspian?"
Susan's eyes got wide as she pulled the door open wide enough for her siblings to see the other person that was inhabiting her bed.
"Susan you didn't," Lucy stammered.
"I don't think I want to know what you didn't do," Edmund remarked.
"No! It's not what you think, we just fell asleep is all," Susan explained. "Please don't tell Peter."
"It's too late," Peter said walking towards them. He looked angry at first but upon meeting Susan's eyes, he calmed. "Susan, may I have a word?"
"Edmund, fancy going to breakfast with me?" Lucy interrupted politely.
"Absolutely," Edmund said quickly. The two of them ran off down the corridor as fast as they could.
"Peter," Susan whispered. Before either of them could continue speaking, they heard someone clear their throat. Looking behind Susan, they saw Caspian standing next to the bed.
"If I may," He said softly. "Peter, I am terribly in love with Susan, but I don't want to upset anyone by being so. Only with your permission will I ask for Susan's affection."
Peter looked at the two of them and put his head down. "That's the thing," he said. "You shouldn't need my permission. I must apologize for my actions. I was only looking out for Susan and I was completely wrong for my actions." He looked up to see an offering hand in his direction. Caspian met Peters eyes and nodded. Peter shook Caspian's hand in surrender and smiled. "For what it's worth, you have been very kind to Susan." The two boys smiled and Susan leaped at Peter, hugging him gently. "Thank you Peter," She said before letting go and putting her arms around Caspian's waist.
"Now, let's enjoy this day before we have to go," Peter said with a great smile on his face. The three of them smiled deeply and laughed as they walked down the corridor together to the dining room.
I'm thinking 1 or 2 chapters to go...let me know what you think!
