Note: There's a little more I'd like to fill-in as background info before creating a new direction. It will be easier to create longer chapters then as well. Thanks for reading.

Having ushering Hodgins from the room, Angela stared in disbelief. "Well, go on!"

In a manner quite unlike herself, Brennan ducked her head shyly. "It's not what you're thinking."

"Nothing with you two is ever what I'm thinking. Throw a dog a bone, here." Patience was not Angela's strong suit. She'd waited way too long for these two to get their act together.

"I just… It could have been any one of us. Booth could have answered the phone himself, or handed it to me." Brennan paused, turning the skull in her hands. "Or you."

These were not thoughts Angela hadn't already had. "Can we get back to the happy part, please? I could really use some good news right about now."

"I couldn't sleep. I assumed Booth couldn't either. I needed someone to make sense of it all, Ange. You know I'm not good with processing emotions."

"And he helped?" Angela gently prodded the story along.

She smiled softly. "We may have exchanged sentiments regarding love."

Angela could barely contain her grin at the sight of Brennan, talking about love without mentioning chemical reactions... regarding Booth! "Drop the scientific lingo, Bren. Sentiments as in actions, or words?"

"Both, though the kiss was very brief."

They'd definitely discuss the kissing, but Angela wanted to get to the heart of the matter. "So, what… you're just talking and he says he loves you?"

Brennan blushed and suddenly seemed very interested in the skeletal remains.

"Oh, my God. You? You said it first?" Angela asked in awe.

"Why is that relevant?"

"Sweetie, it's totally relevant. The old you would never have admitted love exists, let alone expressed it. I'm so proud of you." Angela smiled and embraced her friend. "You and Booth, you're going to be so happy."

"You can't know what the future holds," Brennan stopped at her friend's disapproving look. "But I accept your well wishes. I find that I'm feeling rather excited as well."

"I mean it, Bren. You deserve this."

"We haven't… done anything, yet," she admitted. "Booth said he needs to focus on Broadsky right now." Mentioning Broadsky's name immediately dampened her thoughts.

"You will," Angela confirmed. "You will, and it will be completely amazing, and you'll be able to confirm the fantasies I've had about Booth all these years."

"You could have just asked Cam," Brennan stated matter-of-factly. "She has knowledge of-"

Angela shook her head. "Just no, sweetie. Don't go there."

"Knowledge of what?" Cam asked disapprovingly as she stopped in the doorway. "Did you really send Hodgins away when he came to you with information about the case?"
