Heart Mender
A/N: This is a companion piece to Heartbreaker
Disclaimer: I do not own vicTORIous
It was about 1:30p the next day when Jade rang the bell to the RV. 'It's open,' Beck called out. She opened the door and headed inside. Beck was sitting on the bed. He looked disheveled. He was wearing the clothes from the previous night and there was signs of bags beginning to form under his eyes. She pulled up a chair and sat near him. They had tried to talk the night before but they just ended up arguing. 'Have you slept?'
'I told you last night I'll be ready to listen when you're ready to talk. You're here so you must be ready to talk.'
'Beck, I-'
'Just tell me why,' he said cutting her off.
Why? It was the same argument. She never really thought about why she was cheating when she was cheating. She didn't really consider it cheating at the time. She thought they were on a break. It didn't excuse her actions. 'I don't know why,' she said. 'I mean I know why but it's pointless now. If we're starting over why do we need to talk about it?'
'Because if we're going to have a future we need to deal with the past.' He stood up and was walking back and forth. 'You lied to me. Have been lying to me.' He was still angry.
'I'm sorry,' she said more of a reflex. She knew the words had no impact on him. 'You said we needed a break. You weren't around. I needed someone.' She stood up and went to him. 'I'm not blaming you. There's no one singular reason why I did what I did. It was a combination of things. You were spending your time running lines with Tori for the play I was jealous and Cat paid attention to me.'
'I'm so angry right now,' he said as he pounded on the counter top.
'Do you still love me?'
'Of course I love you. But you betrayed me Jade. You betrayed what we had. I can't just magically forget that for three months you were fooling around with Cat. Not to mention she's a friend. Every time I look at her there's going to be hatred there. Every time I see you two together from now on I'm going to wonder.'
'I know,' she said tearing up realizing the damage she had done not only to her and Beck but to Beck and Cat as well.
He walked over to her and wrapped his arms around her. She buried her face in his shoulder and cried. They stayed like that in the middle of the RV for about twenty minutes. 'I forgive you. I won't be able to forget but maybe in time I can push it far enough in the back of my mind where I won't constantly think about it.'
'Sorry. I hurt you and I'll spend as long as it takes to make it up to you.'
'That may take awhile,' he said with a smile.
'It's ok. I have nothing but time. Come on let's get you to bed. You need to rest.'
End. R & R.
A/N: I may do a few more companion pieces to wrap this all up.
