Yamato could describe his perfect match. He'd found him years ago, and had been by his side ever since. He was single, but not because he had to be. Unlike his best friend, he knew what he wanted, and how to get it. So he was biding his time.
He'd watched Tai date girls that got more and more like him as time went by, and even the densest of their friends was starting to notice the trend. There might be a girl out there that was a female version of Yamato, but only one person really matched what Tai wanted. Eventually, he'd realize that, so Yamato waited.
He kept a list of what Tai wanted. Hair color, eye color, height- those were basic. But there were other things, like "My girlfriend shouldn't like sweet foods," that were more demanding. Yamato didn't like sweet foods, never had. He'd not even realized Tai had noticed until he'd come back from another date, discouraged because the girl had wanted to stop by a cake shop.
One day, he figured he'd show Tai the list. They'd go over it, and he'd point out all of his features. So far, he matched every requirement (though he wasn't sure about some of the terms Tai used to describe him).
