Reality
What is reality, I wonder?
Wake up and walk through your door,
Still in chains as a prisoner child
Seeing all the other adults live and free.
What is reality, I wonder?
See all the people around you
Fighting cruelly to death,
Their faces blank, their bodies moving
All concentrating on war.
What is reality, I wonder?
Look at the other children
When going back in the prisoner,
See the master
Talk about undone chores and punishments,
Repeated all the time
Same thing again, again.
What is reality, I wonder?
Go back home,
Back through the streets
After you've been slaved at the city,
The others go through you
Without no notice,
The people still in stones
As you claim your surreal freedom.
What is reality, I wonder?
Find some food,
In the dustbin or beg
No one cares,
The things never change
As your hunger increases in the dark.
What is reality, I wonder?
Going up somewhere else,
Somewhere cosier
Like a dumped sofa in the night,
Fall asleep through surreality
Open your window up wide
And fade through surreality in the misty wind.
What is reality, I wonder?
