A/N: This is an idea that came to me from watching the final story arc of The Clone Wars TV series. I wonder if anyone else has ever considered this notion before? This story can be seen and told from the point of view of any Clone Wars character except for Yoda, Qui-Gon Jinn, Obi-Wan Kenobi, or Anakin Skywalker.
Disclaimer: I do not own Star Wars: The Clone Wars. Dave Filoni and Disney do.
Our lives are all but short and sweet.
We live with zest and desire for life.
But in the end we have to die,
And pass on to the nothingness
That claims almost all of us.
Yes, I said 'almost' all of us.
For 'tis said that three male Jedi Masters and one Chosen One
Will retain consciousness and identity for all eternity.
They will live on as spirits in the Living Force
And influence the future generations of a new family of friends.
And now, I ask you four Force spirits,
Why can't we all have the same privilege?
Why can't we also live as ethereal spirits
To watch the galaxy and influence our loved ones?
Who wouldn't want Padmé and Duchess Satine
To join with their Anakin and Obi-Wan Kenobi?
Kit and Plo, Mace and Adi, Shaak and Luminara,
Aayla and Barriss, and of course, Ahsoka Tano?
Other Jedi might also like
To join with their legendary icons.
Korkie Kryze and his Mandalorian cadet pals
Would love to see how Mandalore endures
In future history.
One would think that Katooni, Petro,
Ganodi, Gungi, Byph, and Zatt,
Kalifa, O-Mer, and Jinx,
Would be shown mercy by the Living Force.
Why deny life to innocent, short-lived kids?
Even droids like Qutee, Ceefor, Beezee, and Wack,
Might have liked to have lived to celebrate
With Artoo-Detoo and See-Threepio.
The countless victims of the Chosen One
And of the Sith Order's future Empire,
Jedi and non-Jedi alike,
Might have liked to have lived after death
To see the end of the tyranny and horror.
But the so-called Living Force sees fit
To erase us all from this plane of existence
While giving a teeny tiny chosen few
Eternity to enjoy their time alive.
Trillions died because of the Chosen One,
Innocents who might have liked
To have lived a full life
And were wiped clean of all aspects of life.
While the Chosen One himself who annihilated us
Gets to enjoy eternal life and happiness.
And it never occurred to him,
Obi-Wan, Yoda, or even Qui-Gon,
That maybe we would have also loved
To have been at the victory celebration
After the fall of the Sith
And it's mighty Galactic Empire.
They seem to have forgotten
That we even existed once upon a time
Just like they did.
Or maybe they just don't care;
Maybe they're so happy for the galaxy's new heroes,
That they think we no longer matter in any way.
Yes, Obi-Wan, Yoda, and Anakin Skywalker
Smile their hearts out at Luke and his sister and friends,
While the nothingness where what's left of us dwells
Weeps forever in the damnation of eternal death.
What kind of eternal life is this?
Why them, but not us?
How can the Force that life creates
So callously repay us by erasing our lives?
