Chapter six: A Special sight.

The first day of school is always hard, but sometimes it doesn't have to be.

Slowly but surely Sesshomaru had regained control, much to the surprise of all the adults watching.

Panting, Sesshomaru turned to look at Kagome. He felt guilty upon seeing the worry on her face but when her face contorted into a smile at his composure, he smile back at her.

His smile so gentle and warm made Kagome blush. He was even prettier when he smiled! Happy at her own work, Kagome gave Sesshomaru a quick hug and giggled in glee.

Hoshi's jaw dropped open at the sight, as did InuTaisho but both for different reasons.

Hoshi couldn't believe his little girl had hugged that boy. He knew he should have told Kagome about cooties and boy germs and all the horrors that came with them.

'Perhaps they could home school?' He schemed in his mind. 'Or another school...'.

But the big question was who or what was she, his precious princess, to the boy to make him react as he had? Hoshi thought while glaring at said boy.

Inutaisho had the same question running through his mind. Who was this human that made his usually stoic son smile like that? Heck, who knew the boy could smile and especially like that! As much as he was happy to see his son smile in such a gentle way, he was a little sad and disappointed that he was not the one to coerce it.

Just who was this girl? InuTaisho pondered, staring curiously at Kagome.

Meanwhile, seeing that the two fathers were otherwise busy, the two mothers, who both thought the new friendship was very cute, began to converse.

"Hi I'm Suki Higurashi, that one glaring is my husband Hoshi Higurashi and this little one is Souta. Today is little Kagome's first day year 1. Actually it's her first day of school ever! It's nice to meet you!" Suki laughed at her correction.

"I am InuKimi Tsukino. That fool is InuTaisho Takahashi. It is Inuyasha's first day but our first son, Sesshomaru, is in the third grade this year. A pleasure." Sesshomaru's mother replied with and laughed along with Suki.

"Oh! Inuyasha was it? Which class is he in? My daughter is in 1C" Suki grew excited at the thought of finding a friend who's child was in the same class. Maybe their kids could be friend too!

"Yes, Inuyasha. He's in 1C with Ms Jin. My son Kagome seems to have taken a liking to your daughter it seems." InuKimi couldn't help but add in.

"Yes, they look quite cute don't they? I'm glad they're already getting along, although it doesn't seem like my husband and your son do" Suki mentioned worried.

"I'm sure that is nothing to fret over. I have never seen Sesshomaru care for someone so outside of the pack. He would do nothing to harm Kagome." As Sesshomaru's mother she was certain of this and tried to assure her new found friend.

"Oh that's not what I'm afraid of. Hoshi is going to go crazy over Kagome having boy friends!" Suki laughed at the mere thought of it "but I do hope everyone can get along eventually."

"Perhaps you and your family could come over for dinner sometime soon? I'm sure the children could become good friends." Inukimi suggested.

"That's a great idea! Here, i'll give you my details, oh, and my husbands just in case" Kagome's mother said while searching her handbag for a pen and some paper.

"Yes, let me write down mine as well and I'll give you InuTaisho's business card." InuKimi returned as she rifled through her wallet.

similar thoughts running through their mind, 'what better way to start matchmaking than a dinner.'

Whaile the women were chatting and plotting the two fathers got out of their thoughts and took action.

"Kagome come here please" Hoshi spoke gently just in case Sesshomaru grew angry again.

Kagome being the daddy's little girl went over but not before giving Sesshomaru one more smile.

Sesshomaru, upset at the thought reached out to grab Kagome but her father seeing him motion to do so; reached out and pulled her into a hug. relieved she was safe and unharmed.

Sesshomaru, even more upset, growled low and stared at Kagome's father.

Inutaisho could not believe how Sesshomaru was behaving. This was a first. As astounded as he was he had to do something about his son before the situation got worse.

"Son isn't it time you went to your own class now?" A distraction was in order and hopefully this distraction would have him leave. He also had to now convince his son to apologise to the man Sesshomaru had unknowingly challenged for his daughter.

Sesshomaru reluctant to leave and torn between what to do looked from Kagome to his father then settling back on Kagome with a longing gaze.

"You'll see her around school. Apologise and head off to class" Inutaisho enticed, hoping it would work.

Hoshi, realizing that it was true; they'd be seeing each other at school became horrified and angered.

Smirking at the thought of seeing Kagome again and more often not to mention her father's anger was amusing but the reminder of leaving let alone apologising had him clenching his hands. He knew what the honourable thing to do was and he could see how much Kagome cared for her father and decided to do the right thing.

"I apologise. Please take no offense and accept my kindest regards. I shall be heading off to class now." Sesshomaru spoke with such maturity. "I will be off now Father, Inuyasha, Mother" Sesshomaru said to each of them when addressing them and turned to look at Kagome.

Having given each other their details the two women looked back at their family.

InuKimi tuned in just in time to hear her son apologise. Mouth opening in shock yet proud of her son's display of maturity and gleeful at the looks he sent little Kagome's way. Watching Seshomaru longingly as if he wanted to say more, stay more, she felt a pang in her heart. Perhaps now would be a great time to announce the plans she made with Kagome's mother.

Clearing her throat a little to get the attention of the others, Inukimi smiled before saying, "I have invited the Higurashis to have dinner at our residence some time this week. everyone will be attending." as each word left her mouth, her smile widened.

Several things happened after she finished.

Sesshomaru's smirk returned, Hoshi's eyes widened as did his mouth in shock as his shoulders sagged in defeat and InuTaisho closed his eyes and hit his forehead with the palm of his hand.

Inuyasha, though had only been watching until now let out a "keh!' and crossed his arms, already knowing how annoying formal dinners were and little Kagome's smile could have been mistaken for the sun as it was so big and just as much bright.

Sesshomaru now thoroughly please and not at worried about leaving Kagome met Kagome's grin with one of his own.

"Thank you mother. I shall be heading to class now, I will see you soon Mr Higurashi, Mrs Higurashi, Kagome and little one." Sesshomaru addressed them all, giving Hoshi a smirk, Suki apolite smile and Kagome a gentle one.

He couldn't wait for dinner with the Higurashis.

Thank you everyone for being so patient with me! I realise I took a long time and I know not much happened in the chapter but it's all I could come up with right now. It's very rushed and I know there are lots of mistakes but I'm writing this while I should be doing an assignment (YAY! no sleep for me!). I'm hoping to come back to this and editing it later on. Don't think that just because I'm going to come back later to edit later means I don't want your help, because I do! I appreciate all words or advice and wisdom you give me and I always try to take on your constructive criticism and such! Thank you!
