Finally, Baby #2 is arriving! Enjoy!
Chapter Six
Braxton Hicks… or not.
"Ouch." I say, shooting out of bed.
"Is it coming?" Caspian shoots up right beside me.
"No Caspian." I sigh. "Still just Braxton Hicks, go back to sleep."
This happens three more times, before the real ones start.
"Caspian. Caspian wake up."
"Sweetie it's four in the morning. Go to sleep."
"
"The baby is coming." I say desperately."
"What? Why didn't you tell me?"
"I just did." I shout frustratedly.
"I'll go get the midwife. He says, pulling back the covers.
"No, wait, don't leave me alone."
"I'll grab Lucy first. She is right down the hall."
(Switch to 3rd person POV)
Caspian runs down the hall, reaching Lucy door and knocking frantically. A very sleepily Lucy opens it.
" 'twanttobealone!" Caspian rambles. Lucy quickly takes the words apart in her head. Then she grabs her cordial and runs down the hall.
(Susan's POV)
"Ow ow ow. I say, as another contraction hits.
"I'm here." Lucy announces, running in with her cordial. "Contraction?" I just nod. She walks over and offers her hand. I grasp it tightly, just like I did with Ed four years ago.
Fifeteen minutes later, Millie runs in with the midwife trailing her.
"How are you doing?" She asks, as the midwife preps her stuff.
"You wanna help me murder your brother?"
"Why not." She replies, laughing.
Caspian, followed by Peter and Ed, run in.
"Out! Out!" Millie yells.
"Why?" Caspian asks.
"Because you don't want to see this. Go!" Caspian stays right where he is.
"Caspian, please go." I plead, trying to sound as steady as I can, because I can feel another contraction coming. "Stay with Capri."
"No! I refuse to let you go through this alone."
"Ed! Pete! Get him out of here." I plead again. Peter and Ed grab his arms and him out just as I scream the loudest I have, as the contraction rips through my body.
Caspian's POV
They drag me out, kicking and screaming, just as she screams in pain so loud, that I'm sure I hear my heart break.
"Please! Please! I have to be in there. I refuse to sit out here and wait to see if I have been blessed with a son!"
"But you're not. You're waiting out here, with your family, explaining what is going on to your daughter and helping your wife by not fainting while she is giving birth." Peter comforts before going to check on Capri.
"And besides, Luce is there. She helped tons of maids and other servants through birth. So did Susan. They will both be fine." Ed adds.
"Guess who woke up?" Peter says suddenly, walking through the door carrying Capri.
"Papa, is my baby sister coming soon?"
"Yes darling. But what if it is a brother?"
"It's not. I know. Mamma calls it 'intuition'."
"Alright. What would you like to name her?"
"Natalia Marie."
"Natalia?"
"It's a comic Mamma always read. It's about a team called the Avengers," Capri starts to explain the Avengers, "And then there was Black Widow, or Natasha Romanoff. But her real Russian name was Natalia Romanova."
"And Marie?"
"I really like that name."
"Tell me more about these 'Avengers'"
Four hours later…
"Sorry to interrupt, Capri. But, I was wondering if you wanted to meet you baby sister." Lucy asks, smiling in pure happiness.
"Yes, Natalia is here!" She yells excitingly.
"That is what she wants to name her. Natalia Marie."
"From the Avengers." Ed adds. Lucy nods understanding.
We walk in to see Susan sitting up in bed cradling a small baby to her chest.
Susan's POV
"Mamma!" Capri yells to me.
" Hi Baby Girl." Capri walks to the bed and climbs up, gently.
"Isn't she your baby girl now?"
"Oh no, Baby Girl, that will always be you. She is a baby girl yes, but you are my Baby Girl."
"Does she have a name?" Capri asks, as everyone comes closer. Peter, Ed, Lucy, and Millie sit on the end of the bed. Caspian picks up Capri and places her on his lap and puts his arms around me.
"Nope. Any ideas?"
"Natalia Marie."
"Like Black Widow.?"
"Yep." She replies, popping the 'p'.
"You are so totally my daughter."
"So she can be Natalia Marie?"
"I like it. Caspian?" I ask.
"I love it darling. It suits her." We all look at he. She is the spitting image of her father, as newborns are. She cracks her eyes long enough to to see perfect newborn blue eyes. I hope that stay like that. She has wisps of blonde hair, just like Capri did in the beginning, but it will probably end up the same color as Caspian. She is perfect.
"Hi Natalia." I whisper. "I'm your Mamma. This is your Papa and your older sister, Capri. Over there at the end of the bed is your Aunts and Uncles, Auntie Lucy, Auntie Millie, Uncle Ed and Uncle Peter. We all love you very much and we are so excited to finally meet you. We will protect you and teach you how to be a fair and kind princess of Narnia. And we will introduce you to Aslan. We love you very much, and we can't wait to see you grow up."
This story is dedicated to my awesome mom, Marie. You are the best because you listen to my fangirl rants. Thanks Mom.
Do you want a sequel? Keep in mind that there is still an epilogue to come.
