Turn and face the stranger
Ch-ch-Changes
Don't tell them to grow up and out of it
I saw an arm reach past me, pulling a tube of candy cane flavored Pringles from the shelf. I had been staring at them in horror when someone actually came up, and picked that flavor without hesitation. I turned around, not even trying to hide the cringe on my face. "Wow, you're brave!" I said in disbelief, as I turned.
"Hmm?" the girl asked, pulling her headphones down to hang around her neck.
"You're brave, trying that flavor. Possibly insane, I'm not sure," I ramble, captivated by bright blue eyes. I can't seem to stop talking, "You're sure you grabbed the right ones?" Please, someone shut me up. "They're peppermint potato chips." She's beautiful.
Blonde hair falls across her face as she giggles. "I like Christmas," she says, as though that somehow settles it.
I can't help the smile on my face. "It's March."
"Yup, only three hundred more days till Christmas! Gotta get in the spirit!" She's laughing.
I look at her in disbelief, trying to check the math in my head. "Three hundred days? You made that up."
"Maybe. Sounds close though, doesn't it?"
I shrug, because, let's be honest, I can't do that kind of math with a beautiful stranger holding my attention.
"I'll try anything once," she adds.
"What?"
"The chips."
"Right."
"And the ducks aren't picky, they'll like them if I don't."
I raise my eyebrows, not knowing how to respond.
"At the pond across the street. I was going to eat my Pringles and feed the ducks."
"Oh."
"You could come if you want."
Strange fascination, fascinating me
Changes are taking the pace
I'm going through
