Hey my readers! I'm uploading this chapter, but I think I'm going to take a short break, I just wanted to update beforehand. I'm mainly taking this break because writing 2 stories at once is harder than expected. I'll try and write a few chapters while I'm doing my other story so I can update more frequently later. So, sorry I'm not going to be updating very much lately. I will come back to this, promise! But, in the meantime, if you wanna check out my other story – Total Drama Newbies – I'm going to be working on that. So, enjoy this chapter!
DISCLAIMING ALL RIGHTS TO TOTAL DRAMA AND CINDERELLA STORY! (MEANING THEY AREN'T MINE, SADLY)
I woke up early the next morning. The light pouring in the small window of my room cast a light orange tint over my tiny space. I groaned but still removed myself from my warm bed. I hurried down the hall quietly and stepped into the tiny bathroom. I turned the shower on and stripped as I waited for the water to heat a little. I stepped in and felt the slightly warm water rush over my skin.
I washed my hair and face before scrubbing the bar of soap over my body. After only about 5 or 10 minutes, I shut off the water and stepped out. I wrapped myself in my towel and brushed my teeth. I grabbed my clothes and crept back over to my room.
I glanced at my old alarm clock and noticed it was just a little past 5. I opened my closet to find something to wear. After a few moments, I picked my white ripped skinny jeans, a BOTDF tee shirt, and my old worn out converse. I also grabbed an old black knit hat I barely remember owning. I got dressed then sat down to finish my routine. I decided against drying my hair to avoid making a lot of noise. I wanted to actually enjoy the peace for a little while.
I did my makeup, some mascara and a thin line of black eyeliner, and picked out some jewelry. I stood, toweled off my hair a bit, and ran down the stairs to begin breakfast. I made a white egg omelet with fresh tomato and spinach for Heather, chocolate chip pancakes for Trent, and steak and eggs for the ogre. I poured myself some cereal and ate quickly.
"Hey! Breakfast is ready!" I called upstairs before I saw Trent swing around the staircase and bound past me.
"Morning Gwen!" He said on his way to the kitchen. I walked towards the door and grabbed my bag, jacket, and keys.
"Morning, you've got the pancakes! See yah!" I said before sliding out the door. I heard a small cheer from behind me as I closed the door. I chuckled and found my clunker on the street. "Mornin' baby, let's see if you'll start today." I sat in my car and turned the key, hoping for the best. Luckily, the car started and I turned on the radio. I started singing along to some songs as I drove with my window down, enjoying the air in my still damp hair.
I pulled up to the diner at which I proudly work about 10 minutes later. I was a little early, but I don't mind, too much. I stepped inside to be greeted by the smell of eggs, pancakes, waffles, and bacon.
"Morning Sonya, Charlie," I greeted as I took my place behind the counter. I slipped on an apron, tied up my hair, and began scrubbing the counter.
"Good Morning Gwen, but what are you doing here? You're supposed to be at school by 7:30," Sonya said while walking over to me. Sonya was a short woman, even shorter than me, with dark skin and dark hair. Her teeth were perfect and white, contrasting nicely when she smiled. She's kind of like a mother to me, ever since I started working at the diner.
"Well, I have a shift now so I can get off an hour earlier in the afternoon. I have somewhere I need to be." I said, excited about my appointment after school.
"Oh, what do you got going on?" Sonya asked, looking very energetic all of a sudden. I laughed at her excitement.
"I'm not saying yet, I don't wanna jinx it. Plus, I don't want to get your hopes up over anything." I said while pouring coffee into a costumer's mug. I grabbed a pad of paper and a pen and skated around taking orders for breakfast.
After an hour of skating around the small diner and taking orders, I slipped off my apron and skates, rubbing my cramped feet to release some tension, and put on my converse again. I grabbed my bag and headed for the door while pulling out my ponytail.
"See ya later Sonya!" I waved over my shoulder swinging the door shut behind me. After climbing in my car, I fixed my hair a bit and slipped on my hat before turning the key. Again, my car started, but it was a little slower to the punch. I enjoyed the scenic drive to my school in the morning sunlight.
"Hey Bridgette," I greeted my best friend as I stepped from my car. She ran up and gave me a hug before returning to Geoff's side, whom I actually just noticed was there. "Morning Geoff."
"Nice to see ya, Gwen," he said with a nod before making our way to the front door. I followed the blonde couple as they stepped inside, but before I could pull open the door, Courtney and her squad shoved past me, forcing me to lose my balance. I tripped and landed on the concrete with a thud.
"Oh, whoops, sorry diner girl, didn't see you there," Courtney commented, laughing with Heather and Lindsey as they entered the school. Grumbling, I made to stand but some jock dude tripped over me, almost hitting his head on the door.
"Hey! Who tripped me!" the guy growled. I knew whoever he was, he wouldn't hit a girl, but he sounded pretty freakin scary.
"Uh, you're the one that stepped on me," I said fiercely, really hoping he'll back off.
"Well you're the one- oh, uh, hey Gwen. Sorry, didn't know that was you," Duncan! The guy was Duncan, that makes sense. He offered a hand which I accepted thankfully as he easily lifted my small body up.
"Thanks, well we better get going," I said quickly before opening the door and rushing down the hall. I sat in the library and logged on, hoping Juvie might be online. Wow, he could be anyone at this school! I thought as I opened the chat server. His name wasn't on the list, and I frowned. As I was just about to close the server, his name popped up. I quickly clicked on it and a greeting pooped up.
Juvie101: Morning sunshine
GothBabe64: Nice to know you haven't given up on me
Juvie101: and why would I do that?
GothBabe64: Well, you've never met me before and I'm sure you have real friends that want to talk to you
Juvie101: I could say the same of you
GothBabe64: Not really, I mean I have like one friend, but I think she's busy, what's your excuse?
Busy making out with Geoff, I thought to myself
Juvie101: Ugh, my friends are all superficial
GothBabe64: Ooooo, big words, why don't you elaborate
Juvie101: You know the feeling of coming into a really a stupid conversation, like a couple of girls talking about handbags or something?
GothBabe64: Oh yeah, big time
Juvie101: Well, I feel like I've been stuck in one my whole life. Everyone around me is so ignorant, like if I did anything I really wanted to do, like go to art school, they'd laugh their heads off
GothBabe64: That does sound like a lot of people in this town
Juvie101: Precisely! This whole place is so, so, small. Everyone has little issues, and never thinks of anybody but themselves
Gothabe64: Like they think the universe revolves around them?
Juvie101: Exactly!
GothBabe64: Ha, at least I know you have a brain, and one that functions properly. People need to open their eyes. I'm a part of a national fundraiser to raise money for street children in Brazil. They live on the streets, millions of them, and the government does nothing about it! They have no one, resort to drugs, and they most don't even live to be eighteen …
Juvie101: Wow. That's horrible, you can sign me up to help next time it swings around
GothBabe64: Thanks, it really helps. I just can't wait to get away from here
Juvie101: I know what you mean. I just want to turn and never look back.
GothBae64: Yeah, hey, the bells about to ring. I'm gunna get off, want to talk later?
Juvie101: Sure, you good for lunch?
GothBabe64: I think I can manage, have fun in class!
Juvie101: Oh, you know I won't;)
Done! Sorry, I know, short chapter… It's spring break right now and I have nothing to do today but have everything to do for the rest of the time, so I'm getting this down now. Hope everyone is enjoying their breaks!
