As Lisbeth climbed the stair to the back entrance, I stand there trying to make up an excuse to get me out of here, but mind is at a blank. As she reached for the hand of the door, it felt like if time had frozen. In my mind, thousands of excuses ran through but none were gona be able to get me out of this predicament. Then the only option was found, take it like a man. At that thought, time started to continues as Lisbeth opened the door. When it was opened all the way, there was the girl with the golden brown hair, the vice commander of the 'Knights of the Blood Othe', Asuna.
As she walked in, she noticed Sachi and me on the spot. Sachi was just standing there smiling at Asuna, while I was still holding my sword Halo. She walked down the stairs with a smile on her face as Lisbeth introduced us, "Asuna, this is Sachi and the other guy with the sword is…'
Before Lisbeth could finish her sentence, Asuna lunged past Sachi and straight towards me. Her sword was drawn and she was aiming for a heavy hit. Luckily my sword was already out and our swords clashed with a ferocious impact. The two girls were stunned as me and Asuna were at each other's throats, more like she was at mine. Asuna may be fast, but in strength wise, I out rank her. With a shove I pushed Asuna into a wall and tried to subdue her. But they didn't call her the 'Lighting Flash' for nothing as she wiggled out off the wall and behind me. We were both in a standoff in the back room of the little shop. When she and I were about to clash again, we hear a big bang, "stop fighting!"
We immediately froze and look over at the noise. Sachi had clanged her sword and shield together so we could hear her. When Sachi had our attention, Lisbeth went over to Asuna and Sachi came to me, trying to stop us from fighting.
"Let me at that low life little creep! I swear when I get my hands on you, you'll wish you'd never been born" screamed the crazed knight as she wailed her sword trying to reach me. While Lisabeth tried to calm her down, Sachi and I went into the shop so I could explain the problem with me and miss payback.
"When I first started to do my job, I did petty revenge or punishment like challenging people in small towns where nobody cared if they got creamed by an OP player. Back then I had the same old white cloche, tunic and pants with the scarf as a mouth cover." I checked my menu and put on my former disguise. Sachi sat there on the wooden chair of the shop as she saw my old disguise.
"It was good, I got easy money and nobody got hurt too bad, that was all I wanted. And nobody cared, until some guy wanted me to attack guild players. I didn't want to, but you were on the line the moment I said no. they got me to do guild after guild until it was a daily thing. As I fought more and stronger people, I got recognition, too much recognition. One day, they got me into actually killing people outside of safe zones and players started to take me seriously. That's when I became known as the 'White Blood', the murderer in all white. No guild, no name, but hundreds wanted my head. One day, I got talked into ambushing a group of four high ranked players from the 'Knights of the Blood Othe'. I took it, not even considering who I was going to kill, because they were going to die in the end. Or so I thought.
Sachi noticed that the commotion was dying down in the back room before she let me continue the story. "On the day of the ambush, we were at the 44th floor. As always, I was alone with no backup so the 'customers' wouldn't get caught. They were traveling in a steep sloped valley. I had an advantage, the corners and the little escape routes made it almost too easy. The only information I got about them that there were three elites and the vice commander. It was pretty big game for me, but not big enough. They came into the valley with a package; two brutes were holding it while a shield user was in the back. And as expected, the vice was in the front. But something felt off, she and the others had their faces covered and they walked too slow to be carrying an important package. It was a trap! I knew it was a trap, but I played along as if I hadn't caught on to them yet.
"They were about to round the corner, and I was right there waiting, with apparently three unconscious assault men. They were going to jump me, but were unmatched in so many different levels, but they weren't my targets so I let them live. When the others saw what I did, they didn't even flinch. They knew I was coming and they were confident. The two brutes dropped the package, as it broke reveling that it was a fake. All three of them walked in front of the vice and the brutes pulled out their massive cleaver of swords. I stood there as they tried to intimidate me, but thanks to an info broker, I was able to get a super rare drop called 'All Seeing Scarf'. It enabled me a one use effect that checks the stats of all the players and their weapons in my sight for ten seconds. I saw that they were 20 levels below me with armor that I could pierce through with one stab. It was the vice that caught my attention. Level 76, one level below mine and his speed was through the roof. And the only people I knew that came close or equaled me were Kirito and Asuna. Kirito was my one and only equal, but Asuna was always at our heels in power even though she destroyed us in speed.
"As the brutes started their attack with a massive swing at my front, the shield user stayed back with the vice to protect her. To their dismay I blocked it with my sword Halo. But even so, they attacked continuously, only to have their attacks ricocheted back at them. It was almost pitiful as I blocked their attacks with ease. Soon they grew tired, and that's when I delivered the fatal blow to both of them, stabbing them in the heads. With that, they died instantly as their bodies disappeared. The shield user was still with the vice, as I slowly walked towards them the vice didn't move and almost tried to cover her face even more. Probably because I killed two people from her guild without a second thought. Thankfully nobody knew who I was outside of work, yet. The shield user looked back at the vice, her faced almost shot up as he ran at me with his sword and shield. It was too pathetic, but it was a noble move, sacrificing his life to protect his comrade. When he got close enough I ran my sword through his heart, got close to his ear and whispered, 'I'm sorry for what I have done, but you were a noble man. I will ask for your name, and remember it.' I pulled the sword out as he slowly fell and disappeared before he hit the ground.
As I remembered his face I rubbed the bridge of my nose in pain and frustration, considering the fact that I didn't get his name. "When he disappeared, all that was left was the vice commander, but she was in deep rage. Her clenched fist shook as she grabbed her sword, and when she pulled it out, her cry of rage almost scared me enough to run. Her burst of speed was unimaginable as the distance between us grew smaller quickly. Her sword struck the side of mine with tremendous force, which actually pushed me back a little. Her hood and cover came off during impact and so did mine. That was the first time someone saw me during a job. She froze on the spot and just looked at my face as I looked at hers. She was in complete shock, her eyes wide and trembling at the fact that she saw me as the 'White Blood'. 'No, why did you do it', she whispered as her eyes went from shock to rage. She jumped back and screamed, 'I'll kill you!' and charged at me again with even more force. She continuously stabbed and struck at me, so much that I couldn't keep blocking forever, so I swung. She dodged it, but went further back as if to think of what to do now. She then came at me again, but this time I swung and our swords collided. Because I was stronger and my sword was bigger, I knocked her sword out of her hands as I flew off behind her. The impact was so great that she fell backwards and onto the floor, dazed from the impact.
"I lunged at her and put my sword at her throat to keep her from moving. I got close to face and whispered, 'I don't want to kill you, but you have to give me something that proves that you are dead.' I pulled of her gloves and put them in my pocket as proof, then slowly pulled my sword from her throat. She didn't get up so I walked away, but she had one question. 'If you spared me, why didn't you spare them', it was a question that the only one answer to. I turned to her as she still sat on the floor, my face was emotionless, 'because they were also my targets.' I walked away as she screamed, 'I'll kill you, and no one but me will kill you 'White Blood'! I'LL KILL YOU!"
I looked over at Sachi, whose face had a mixture of sadness, fear, and empathy for Asuna. "So is that why she was so angry at you Katzugami?"
I nodded my head, "yah, if only I could take back all the horrible things I did. But this game isn't that forgiving, so I'll burden it if I have to."
As I finished saying that, Lis and Asuna came in, but to my surprise, Asuna bowed her head at us the instant she saw my face. "I'm sorry for all the trouble I've caused, would you please forgive me Sachi and Katzugami."
"no, it was my fault all this happened, I'm the one who should be saying sorry for all the sins I have done", I said as I bowed my head to her.
While they were in the back, Lisabeth explained why I did such things and that I promised that would never do it again. Se even told her about the incident the other day, which was the the story that made her greive us. It was getting late and it was almost time to go. Before we left, I turned and asked Asuna a question, "I promised the sheild user to remember his name, so if you wouldn't mind..."
She was a bit surprised, but soon smiled, "ya, his name was Gin, he was my first friend from the 'Nights of the Blood Othe'."
I nodded my head in satisfaction, "I finally know his name", I raided my right hand and commended Gin for his nobility amd effort before he passed away. As Sachi and I gave our farewells to Lisabeth and Asuna, we headed home as the sun started to set. Because of today, I feel like a lot of weight was taken off my shoulders as I let out a relieved sigh.
"Katzugami, if you have anything else that burdens you, just tell me, ok."
I looked at Sachi as she gave me a warm smile, "I know, thanks for reminding me that you are always there for me."
I bent over so we were the same height, and gave her a little peck on the cheek. Her face turn bright red and she looked down to cover her embarrassed face. She was too adorable, but I felt like she like a little more weight was removed, not from pain, but from being afraid of my feelings. The day was still young, but we decided to go home and enjoy a peaceful noon together.
