Chapter III – Those That Fight
Hideki...Hideki...Hideki...says Chi. In the residence of Hideki's Chi is sitting on the floor waiting impatiently for Hideki to show up. Chi is sitting next to the television holding a controller in her hands. She sits and waves back and forth waiting and waiting. Suddenly the door to the outside opens up, Hideki storms into the room, sits down and looks at the television screen. I'm ready now Chi says Hideki. Chi stares right into Hideki's eyes, and then she begins to chant his name constantly, he just smiles at her.
Hideki takes the controller from Chi, he looks at the screen again, notices that Minoru doesn't move, thinking that he is game over in the game he turns off the game. Turns it on again, but the screen just comes back with Minoru being dead and the head of Yuziki impaled on a stick. He mumbles to himself "did I do something wrong, I am sure this was what the walkthrough said, and why can't I restart it at all." He gazes at Chi who still waves back and forth while she chants his name.
Hideki storms out of the house again and over to Hiromu Shinbo, he knocks and knocks on the door, Shinbo who was asleep looks really tired as he opens the door, and before he can say anything Hideki is already talking faster than Shinbo can comprehend. Calm down, what is the matter Hideki, please speak slower, I cannot follow any of what you are saying says Shinbo this time Hideki tells him the matter and Shinbo understands, at first he is reluctant to help, he would rather go back and sleep. But Hideki keeps pushing him.
Shinbo and Hideki returns to Chi. What is this game? I haven't heard about this, ohhh and it's stars Minoru, this I must play says Shinbo. But there is something wrong with the game, I got this far and now whenever I try to turn off the game it doesn't do anything, it just comes back in that manner says Hideki. Shinbo decides to try and unplug and fiddle around the console, but nothing happens. After a while he gives up saying that it is pointless and that in the end it's just a game to which some voice respons.
Are you sure about that?
Shinbo and Hideki looks at each other, both of them are freaked out of their skulls, Chi still sits and waves back and forth, the lights of the room turns off. And the screen of the game begins to flicker. Shinbo who was sitting next to Hideki disappears, to which Hideki screams loudly. Chi suddenly stops waving back and forth and turns off. Hideki is all alone in the room, he quickly tries to turn on the lights again but nothing happens. He runs back to Chi and tries to turn her on, or rather he fiddles around with Chi for a moment, still as shy as always. When he finally pushes the switch he faints and wakes up somewhere else.
Some Time Later:
Who are you, what you are doing here, oh could it be, could it be that you are another specimen, just like the other. Ohhh yes, I can see the connection, you have met before haven't you says a doctor with a coat covered in stained blood. On a floor in the same Hospital that Minoru once had entered Shinbo lies next to hundreds of bodies. He gazes at the doctor who is holding a tiny knife in his hands. Shinbo tries to get up from the floor, to which the doctor pushes him back down on the floor and then he knocks him out with a shift blow to the head.
Somewhere Else:
It's weird isn't it. You have seen this room before haven't you, yes from your childhood, that childhood you long let disappear from your mind. Oh well the past, the past that you hid away, well it's going to come back my sweet Hideki says a nurse.
Hideki who is standing in a hallway with pictures from his past turns around to face the nurse, the nurse is wearing almost nothing, she is holding a pair of glasses in her hands and a couple of pictures in the other. She walks slowly over to Hideki who is frightened out of his skull and is also quite nervous and shy. Hideki doesn't say anything as she touches his head. She places the glasses upon his head and then without any notice suddenly disappears from the hallway.
Hideki turns his head constantly around to see if the nurse should reappear somewhere but she doesn't. her voice however can be heard from a room in front of Hideki. Hideki, come to me, come enter this door, within this door lies the truth, within this door lies your future, within this door lies your past, within this door lies your destiny. Hideki slowly walks over to the door, he touches the door handle and breathes heavily as he opens the door.
A bright light appears and he falls to his knees, someone appears in front of him, she gazes at him, but it isn't the nurse. A very young girl appears looks at Hideki, then she hugs him. Hideki, I have finally found you again says the little girl. Hideki doesn't seem to recognize this girl and asks her who she is, and how she knows his name. The girl gazes at Hideki with a frightened look and then she begins to cry. Her face turns red, and her hands are shaking as she turns away from Hideki and yells "Baka" she runs away from him, and the bright light is gone. The room is empty, only a few chairs and a table is placed within the room. From somewhere he hears a voice "Wrong choice"
Immediately after this he faints and is returned into the hallway with the nurse who says the same thing again. But this time she adds "Listen carefully to her words, when you hear them, you should finally notice who she is" the nurse disappears once more, Hideki this time runs over to the door and opens it, this time however the light isn't there. The little girl is standing with a teddy bear covered in blood. She gazes at Hideki with a sad expression. Then she asks him if he knows her.
He takes a good look at the little girl and then notices something, something that seems reminiscent to him. She gazes at him with a happy face and then disappears. He once again faints in the room, but this time around he doesn't wake up.
Somewhere Else:
Shinbo wakes up within a small corridor, there are bodies hanging down from the sealing, and at the far end of the corridor Minoru is also hanging down looking over at him. Shinbo speaks out to Minoru, but he doesn't respond, it's as if he doesn't know that Shinbo is there, however it seems like he is moving, trying to loosing himself from chains holding him to the sealing. Shinbo runs over to him, but as soon as he stands where Minoru should be he doesn't see Minoru anymore.
The corridor changes into a bloody corn field, he stands in shock, not knowing what is going on. Somebody is standing next to him, but Shinbo isn't able to see him, however he is able to hear him. Shinbo, what are you trying to do, what is the meaning of your arrival, what do you want with Minoru and Hideki, why did you bring us out here? Says somebody. Shinbo turns around a couple times but doesn't see anything, then he yells out for Chi, which was the voice he heard. But no one responds. He is once again knocked down with a shift blow.
Some Time Later:
Shinbo wakes up to find Hideki and Minoru as well as Yuziki alive, they are all standing in each of their cages. An announcer speaks out to all of them. Hello all of you, welcome to the stadium, welcome to survival, at this battleground, we will see who deserves to live, and who doesn't. First up is Minoru and Hideki, you must fight each other and well the one who lives is the victor…
The cages of Hideki and Minoru opens, they walk out to the battleground, they exchange words, but it seems as though no one of them can hear what the other one is saying. The announcer tells them to fight, if they don't they will be killed. Minoru decides on running head on towards Hideki and jumps right at him with his fists, as he does the battleground disappears and Minoru walks up in the room with all the sticks. A man comes up to Minoru, and shows him Yuziki on a stick as well as the heads of Hideki, Shinbo and Chi, then he laughs and says "well done"
Minoru is shocked, but doesn't remember what has happened, he asks the man, to which the man knocks him out cold and drags him into an operation table. Here he carves within his body something.
