Lucy POV

I was still seated in my comfy leather chair, berating all the idiots who believed in people with supernatural abilities, when a knock on my door interrupted me from my thoughts.

"Come in." I replied calmly, while erasing any signs of irritation from my expression.

The door then swung open as my best friend/ assistant, Levy entered the room, carrying a pile of papers and a clipboard.

"Hey, Lu-chan!" she exclaimed gleefully.

"Hey Levy-chan." I replied back with little enthusiasm.

She came up to my desk and handed me the papers, while I reluctantly received them, uneager to do more work.

"Mr. Heartfilia said that he wanted these papers done by the end of this month, and you have a meeting in 3 days with the CEO of Sabertooth Company at 10:00 as well." she said, as she checked her clipboard.

"Also, this paper needs to be signed." Levy held out her clipboard, with a form on the front. I quickly scanned the page and signed my signature on the blank line.

I then leaned back and sighed, feeling overwhelmed by the work. Levy took notice of this action and shot me a sympathetic glance. I nodded my head slightly, in gratitude for her concern.

Leaning back on the chair, I thought back on why I agreed to be the future CEO for this company anyways. I remembered when my mom was still alive after the accident, and how she and Dad built this company from nothing. They developed the whole incorporation and ran it together from start to her death, and it's still going on; I'm helping my dad run the company to this day, and I'm determined to keep it going. I pay attention to his meetings, and I complete the paperwork and forms, despite the tirelessness.

In addition, being future CEO and daughter of a CEO of a large worldwide company does have its perks, but it was pretty overwhelming. I mean, sure you get the money, the fame, nice apartments, endless hours of shopping at expensive and fancy boutiques. But on the other hand, I'm starting to have tiny roots of doubt in my mind on whether or not being a CEO of the Heartfilia Konzern is what I really want to do for the rest of my life, or if it was even worth the effort. The paperwork was endless, and it was tiring and exhausting, staying up long hours when almost every other employee has gone home for the night.

In addition to reasons of not being a CEO, there were the expectations, yes, the extremely high expectations. Being the rich and wealthy heiress I was, I was raised to be a prim and proper princess, acquiring polite manners, and correct vocabulary and posture and all that good stuff. Note, that was irony. But in conclusion, it sucked like hell.

All of a sudden, Levy slammed her supplies and papers on my wooden desk with small thud, startling me out of my thoughts, causing me to jump a little in my leather seat. I looked up to her with questioning eyes, to be greeted with an eager up-in-my-face-Levy.

"You know what Lu-chan? Let's call it quits for the day. Mr. Heartfilia already gave you sometime off for the day right?" At this remark, I slowly nodded my head.

"Well then, why don't we call Erza, and we all go out to the Magnolia Cafe! I'm sure Mira and Lisanna would love to see you. You haven't been there for so long, ever since you took up the position." She pleaded me with large puppy-eyes, and I had to look away.

I then sighed at her comment. She was right. I haven't seen some of my friends in so long, and I missed them so much! What kind of friend would I be if I didn't visit my closest, bestest friends? Plus, I did have the rest of the day off, I guess it wouldn't hurt to leave for a bit.

I turned back around and I nodded my head, complying with her proposal. "Alright, Levy-chan, I guess I could use a break for the rest of the day. Let me just grab my purse and cardigan."

She nodded and went to get her stuff as well.

When we gathered our things, we left my office and headed towards the elevator, purse and sweater in hand. Again, I was greeted by a group of men and flirts, asking if I wanted to go out to dinner and if I would like to come over to their place some time.

In all my irritation and exhaustion, I didn't have the energy to wave them off, but, luckily, Levy was there to save the day. With a quick, venemous glare from her large hazel eyes, they all backed off, squealing a bit.

I looked at her in surprise. I guess despite her height and short stature, she still had some sassiness in her. But still, where had she learned that?

And as if reading my thoughts, she answered my question without even sparing me a glance.

"Erza."

And with said name mentioned, we both burst out in a fit of giggles, acting like highschool girls when they found something hilarious. That explained it. The only other two people I knew who could do that was Mira when she was angry, and Cana when she ran out of booze (which was pretty rare, she always manages to somehow stash a large bottle of wine in that tiny outfit of hers).

We both then walked down another hallway before having the elevator within our sights. We stood in front of it as we waited for the little ding, alerting us of the arrival of the elevator.

When the elevator arrived, we both stepped inside, only to see another man in there with his complete and utter attention on the small mobile device in his hand.

I leaned forward, avoiding said man, and pressed the level one button. Levy then grabbed her phone out of her purse and scrolled through her contacts list before calling Erza. It rung for a few seconds before being answered.

"Erza Scarlet here, how many I help you?" was the reply heard.

"Hey Erza, it's Levy."

"Oh hi Levy! What do you need?"

"I was wondering if you could come out to lunch with me and Lu-chan, we're going to the Magnolia Cafe." Levy asked.

"Lucy's coming? Sure! I'll meet you there in 10 minutes. Do not be late."

"Hehe, okay. Bye."

"Good bye, and have a nice day."

Levy turned to me as she put the phone away. I had to sweat drop when listening to Levy's conversation with Erza. It was so like her to be polite and respectful, yet extremely terrifying at the same time. Her emphasis on the fact that we had to be on time frightened me a bit. Actually, not a bit, but a lot.

I turned to Levy.

"We need to make it on time." we both stated at the same time. She was already sweating bullets, and I was shaking nervously. With a nod of my head and a nod of hers, we both burst out of the elevator when it sounded with a ding. Accidently pushing aside the man on his smart phone.

We both came back to the elevator red in embarrassment when we realized that we were not on the correct floor.

I know this chapter is a little slow, and I apologize for that, but I promise more will happen in the next chapter. Until next time, Ciao!
